(Edit 1/10/25) I am curious how long this gym will dodge bankruptcy in a few days when the FTC ‘Click-To-Cancel’ law takes effect, and there is a $52k fine per contract-extension without express consent from the consumer. To the owner, remember one year from this month when you desire so bad to freely and indefinitely extend client contracts using the ‘negative options’ model, and that for each and every one that you extend without express and positive consent from the client will result in a $52k fine. Have fun with that!

(Edit as of 11/22/22) The owners response speaks for itself. Owner has responded with mild threats of a lawsuit against a college student for this review, is addressing a random name, and is clearly comfortable with threatening previous customers.

Predatory and extremely aggressive, I’ll explain.

Do not give these people your personal information.

Signed a one year contract, perfectly happy with that. Moved away for a college transfer and couldn’t go to the gym there in Leland. No big deal, I signed the contract, that’s fair.

What’s not okay is that for 6 months after the contract ended, these people continued to charge me. It gets even better, I called them the month after my final 12th month of the contract and asked them if they could cancel any recurring ongoing things as I do not live there anymore. The singular employee this place has told me I had to come in person to sign off on closing the connection, I explained I do not live there anymore so I cannot do that. The singular employee told me he would make note of it and help me out and let the owner know to get it taken care of. Two semesters and $180 later for this gym to leech off of a self-supported college student and I realize they never stopped charging me even after the 12 months had elapsed.

I called again during the 19th month (7 months after my contract expired), I spoke to the same singular employee and they told me this time that they can’t cancel anything over the phone, I explained again that I am no longer in NC and cannot go to the gym there, so he said he would directly contact the owner and they would respond via email to fix the issue.

The email I received, seriously, was an extremely aggressive attitude cannon from the owner herself about canceling my contract. Cancel the contract? It had expired seven months ago and this woman was seemingly standing high and mighty about how she deserved my money just because she had a copy of my account and routing number.

Imagine accidentally paying a business 60% more for something than intended, with zero overhead/risk/use/loss for the company and then when you ask if there is a way to fix things the company gets mad that you didn’t CONTINUE paying them for nothing. These people are extremely aggressive, entitled, morally unconcerned, aloof to responsibilities, and predatory.

I’m sure the business owner will respond to this with some sort of corporate retort explaining contract details or cancellation requirements. Do not open yourself up to security risks by giving these people your information. The woman that owns this business runs it like a playground and she is happy to bully or threaten anyone for money.

For anyone thinking of signing away your account security for a gym membership here, don’t do business with anyone who asks for your account and routing numbers. These people are shady and extremely aggressive when it comes to the customers wanting to add a layer of protection to their raw bank information.

Would not recommend: Terrible staff and business model.

I am not one to write reviews, but I could not pass this up. Being new to the area my fiancé and I were excited to try new gyms and find one that best fits us! My fiancé went in there this morning to do cardio for an hour, and got the day pass to try out the gym, while there the lady tried to charge him although they do a free day pass. When he asked if he could come back later to workout again (with me) the lady said, " you already used your day pass, you'd have to pay $10 to work out". It's a '1 day trial' not an 'hour trial'. Would not recommend. Terrible business model and terrible staff. The drive to the Tru Fit in porter's neck is well worth the 25 minute ride for the amazing staff and brand new equipment!

I only visit the Wilmington area once or twice a year, and have joined 4ever24Fit on a temporary the last two years so that I can work out while I am visiting family over the holidays. I am so thankful that this facility permits temporary/ad-hoc membership at a very reasonable price. The facility is clean and has a wide array of well-maintained equipment, making it the perfect home-away-from-home gym for me. The staff has always been very friendly, as have the other patrons. The fact that this gym is open 24/7 is key, and I have enjoyed going! See you all next year.

Awesome gym! Stopped by today while I was in town and it was only a $10 charge for a one day pass! The entire time I felt like I could’ve asked the staff or trainer for help or advice. Super friendly and relaxed environment with a lot of great and clean Equipment!

After closing their gym due to Covid-19, they opened up in May when gyms were still supposed to be closed. They started back up membership fees without notifying their customers.

After attempting to collect a late fee due to an expired card, that I was unaware was even being charged, I canceled my membership.

They continue to harass me with collections calls.

I was going to check out this gym to start my fitness journey. However, going through the comments the unprofessional replies really stirred me away. I’ve seen other managers/owners reply to critics and low star ratings in a much calmer manner. Reading comments I’ve learned it’s unprofessional - dirty- and not 24 hours if you run late a lot.

Is there anyway I could rate lower than one star? If so, this place would definitely deserve it. The owner, who is clearly in over her head, is extremely rude and unprofessional. She clearly has a "holier than thou" attitude which has no place in business. After reading previous reviews by other individuals, that speaks for itself. Rather than justify your unprofessional behaviors, you should handle situations better in the future. Honestly, just spend your money at another gym like Planet Fitness - you're better off there.

Excellent gym. There is not enough time to express my gratitude for Sandra Wall and this place. The staff is absolutely wonderful! The equipment is exactly what I need to stay out of pain and try to maintain a healthy body. Love being able to access it 24 hours on my schedule. A perfect place for young and old, in shape or out of shape and diversity. I have made such wonderful friends there, it feels like family. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A KID FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE! I honestly would have loved to not have to give any stars but i had to give 1 to leave a review. Being a single mom is super hard and stressful but the fact that a friend of mine had seen friends of the owner come in with their children and the receptionists and other employees watched the child on multiple occasions my friend that she was in the clear to have her 1 year old in strapped in her stroller, being quiet look on as her momma got her workout in. But unfortunately the front desk called the owner after she was gone home to come in and kick my friend out. While I understand that there are rules for a reason and it is a liability issue, the same liability comes into play with the owners frkends child. Anything could happen when that child is in the building but because it is a personal friend of the owner, it’s ok and allowed to bring their kid and not distrust their life.. I’m a fan of people(BUSINESS INCLUDED) in just doing the RIGHT THING! And rather than acknowledge their wrong or explain the difference the owner followed my friend out of the gym continuing to question my friend and down play the fact that her and her employees allow it for some and for others, NOT SO MUCH!!
