I can’t say enough amazing things about this gym! The small group classes create such a warm, personable environment, and I’ve never once felt judged or out of place. Ayala’s restorative yoga sessions are truly something special. She blends therapeutic movement with intention, always sharing a thoughtful message that grounds you for the day. Her presence alone makes the space feel safe, calming, and deeply supportive.

If you’re looking for yoga instructors in Raleigh who genuinely care about your wellbeing, this is the place. Before training with her, I was working with a personal trainer at another gym and unfortunately gained fat while losing muscle mass between January and May 2025. A part of me was truly afraid to start. I didn't have the confidence and kept telling myself, "When we drop a little bit more weight." "Let's wait till next month." Then I saw a video of Brady saying, "You don't have to be fit to start, you just have to start." Which really made me take a step back and look at the overall picture of my health. It's been two weeks now and I have been working with CJ. CJ is such an amazing personal trainer and has more patience with me than I ever imagined. Pushing me to my limits and helping me complete exercises I never thought I could do. I have had really bad lower back pain and shoulder pain due to injuries in waterpolo and a car crash, but after training with CJ for just 2 weeks, my pain has gone away; insane to think it has helped so fast. I'm slowly gaining more confidence on my own and I really look forward to our sessions now, even though we're up before the sun 😭. I couldn't thank CJ enough for everything that he has done for me in just 2 weeks. Also, I am so grateful this is a personal gym. I have been working with personal trainer Hannah since March, and this is such an awesome gym! Hannah creates exercise routines for each session that help me grow and challenge me but never to the point that it's too much for my body. I have a chronic illness, and on our consultation call, Hannah mentioned that she had researched my illness to see what types of exercises would be the best for me, which I found really thoughtful. If I am ever having an off day or need to pivot because I'm not feeling well, we do. She is all about listening to your body and working with it, not against it. Hannah is so encouraging and kind. She keeps telling me that I am stronger than I think I am, and I think I am finally starting to believe that! I cannot recommend Hannah and Activate enough. They will definitely help you reach your fitness goals!

I’ve been going to personal training sessions since January and it’s truthfully been the best thing I’ve done for myself. The facility is amazing. The equipment is well maintained, the space is perfect for the personal training sessions, and the staff are incredible. I’m never nervous to look stupid trying something new. The environment from both staff and clients is super positive. There is definitely a wonderful sense of community at Activate Fitness and Wellness.

I train with Jessica twice a week and she’s PHENOMENAL! She creates workouts that target where I need to build strength, challenges me, and is so fun to work with. I took my family to one of her Monday HIIT classes and it was awesome. We all had a ton of fun and it was really well organized. She’s made me some workouts that include the equipment available to me outside of session so I can add onto my personal gym workouts!

If you’re teetering between deciding to commit or not, do it. I feel stronger, more confident when I go to the gym in my own, and have time for myself.

Brady and his staff are trained to not only provide fitness training,, but the staff have been trained to offer rehab for individuals who may have a specific medical issue(s). After suffering from a stroke stroke ~ 20 years ago, it has been reassuring to know and trust Brady's leadership in developing a program that best suits my health objectives. From maintaining healthy blood pressure to a host of other metrics, these types of stats have been acquired while serving as a registered nurse.
I have trained with various individuals over the years, and without exception, Brady and his staff are exceptional!

Randomly after mentioning to a friend I wanted a trainer to help break a plateau, AFW popped up in my Instagram feed. Not only is Activate Fitness and Wellness affordable, the intimate environment will absolutely settle any gym anxiety that you may have. Mine went away day 1. I chose Hannah as my personal trainer because she was the only female at the time and although SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST, I can clearly see that ALL of the trainers are more than capable. They are all knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and supportive! I love the family dynamic that they currently have/are building.

My trainer Hannah, knows her stuff ! I learn something new about my body every session. On the days when I’m unmotivated and low on energy, she makes me enjoy the session 10x more with her charisma and bubbly energy! This gym is excellent! My trainer, Brady, is super knowledgeable and very patient. He is passionate about working out and helping people achieve their wellness goals. The other trainers, although I haven’t personally worked with them, are very nice. The gym itself is very clean and it has everything anyone would need to get an amazing workout. This is the best gym in Raleigh, Brady and his staff are excellent at listening to you and your personal needs. It is small, private, and the perfect space to focus on your development with all the equipment you could possibly need to achieve your goals. I went in with the goal of gaining 15 pounds of muscle during my 3 months with Activate, I gained 17lbs with minimal supplements used. During my time there I was able to increase my bench 50% and my squats 136%!! Not only that, I went in with a shoulder impingement and came out with healthy right shoulder due to Brady’s rehabbing knowledge. Not only was it the right decision when it came to getting my mind and body back in shape but it also healed my shoulder. Truly grateful for what Activate has done for me and my confidence!! Activate Fitness and Wellness is Freaking Amazing. Three months ago, I wanted to improve my health and get in better shape. I saw a Facebook ad highlighting a fitness trainer with a nursing background. As a nurse myself, I wanted to check it out. Brady has been phenomenal and has pushed me hard in these past three months to a place of better health. The first improvement I noticed was that I could climb a flight of stairs without being winded, and I wanted to change my diet (Yeap, that was a big one for me!) The best results I've noticed showed up while getting fitted for a new suit: my chest and thighs have gained an inch, and my waist has decreased. Nothing compares to how I feel, though. I genuinely feel better and notice a change in my attitude when going about my day. I have had the privilege of meeting the entire team. Brady, Larry, and Hannah are all great people who encourage their clients toward a healthier lifestyle, and I couldn’t recommend this team enough.
