I showed up for a free trial because I wanted to give a new gym a chance. I showed up and the door was locked as you have to sign in with a card (understandable). I then tried calling inside to let them know I was out front. Nobody picked up after 3 attempts. I’ve now wasted 30 minutes of driving out of my way and a pre workout shake. Pretty disappointed

Gym is pretty unclean. Literally saw a dustball roll across the gym. Not a lot of space through the gym either. On top of the gym not being in the best shape, there is never anybody ever there. I had to wait an additional two weeks after purchasing my membership because nobody was ever there to give it to me. Also, the whole “Club Enhancement” fee for a gym that feels rundown is honestly ironic.

Not only does the owner have no accountability but he also has no integrity.
He missed my 10am I called back at 10:45 asking why I was never called back and why no one was there for my 10am.
He said he was there and I wasn’t. Isn’t that wild? Sitting in my truck calling the front at least 7 times and knocked at the door. How people can trust their money with this gym is beyond me. Dodge a huge bullet with this place.

Visiting from Ohio for Thanksgiving. I read the poor reviews of this Anytime and upon entering, the place bore no resemblance to the place they described. It had a wide range of equipment for its size. There were a couple pieces of equipment that needed maintenance—the spinning cycle didn’t seem to have power but was otherwise functional and a preacher curl bench needed new cushions.

The bathrooms weren’t pristine but it was the end of the day of Thanksgiving and if you’re an Anytime member you know full well that you’re on the hook to clean up behind yourself for the next member who needs the facilities after hours. For some reason it felt a little dark to me.

This is a good place. It’s not perfect. Could the ductwork use a cleaning? I guess so. But if you’re in Bolivia and need a workout, this gym will do just fine.

This gym is poorly managed, dirty (look at the ductwork above your head), not always secure/safe, and the owner is negligent with managing the facility. I’ve worked out in there on many occasions to find the back door standing wide open at night. This is a serious security risk. No hand soap in the bathrooms.

I strongly urge anyone that’s in need of a workout facility to avoid this place like no other! More info about the owner and manager…

Upon letting both the owner and manager know that I was away and would need to cancel within a month…I was told by the manager that he would take care of things and cancel the membership, which unfortunately he did not make happen. They continued to charge my account and even apply late charges bc I had notified my credit card company to stop payments. I called many times and even left voicemails, to never have any returned. Finally I had to pin the owner down by getting him in the club to draft a cancellation document and sign in front of his face.

Moral of the story, they don’t care about the face of their business, and don’t value their customers. And I’d encourage you to read other reviews and make an informed decision.

DO NOT get a membership here - it is absolutely impossible to get in contact with the owner either in person, by email, or over the phone. I continue to get charged for a membership that I cancelled. And of course, the only way to address those charges are to contact the gym you signed a membership for…….DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. The gym isn’t even that great - a lot of the equipment is broken which I don’t get because what do the fees go to? The trash was constantly overfilling, the bathrooms were dirty, and the cleaning supplies are never stocked. It’s gross. The only reason this gym gets any kind of business is because it’s the only option. I would NEVER sign up for Anytime Fitness again solely based on how AWFUL he has been.

Do not even think about joining this gym!!!
I went online and paid $330 for a six month membership. I did not hear back from the gym owners to invite me in to get access to the gym and to do an intro.
A girl at the gym warned me that the owners were never there so I was a bit concerned. After three days into my membership they have still not responded to multiple calls, text and email. Do Not Join This Gym….I suspect it is getting ready to go out business.

Signed up online for a 6 month membership. Never heard from them until a week later after numerous attempts to contact them. When they did return my call they were extremely rude, lied about the information on their website, look at the “staff hours “ and then just told me to cancel my membership because they were only there 0800-1200 Monday through Friday. Well sorry some of us do have a real job and cannot come during those hours. Now if their website was correct I could have meet them at an earlier time. Never been treated so badly, no attempt at Customer Service and they then hung up on me. Called the corporate office and cancelled my membership.

This was at 1050am...i asked a young lady if a person was working today and she stated the mgr was there, but he may of went to the grocery store, but hadn't seen him for a while....no notes posted about a return time...and online says a $10 day pass and inside shows $15 day pass...wouldn't recommend

I recently visited Anytime Fitness in Bolivia, NC, for a quick workout.

I was impressed with the cleanliness and modern equipment of the gym. I also appreciated that the gym is open 24/7, so I can work out whenever my schedule allows.

I can not attest to the negative reviews pertaining the owner. What I can say is this: Anytime Fitness in Bolivia is a very clean gym with updated equipment. Turf is a nice touch. Additionally, Kevin, the staffed Personal Trainer was incredibly helpful and considerate throughout our week. He also creates a positive/fun atmosphere within the gym and his clients. He seems to establish impressive rapport with his clients and makes them feel comfortable and encouraged. If you are in the area, I highly recommend Anytime Fitness and especially Kevin as a PT.

In town from Georgia, saw all the reviews and considered skipping this location. I am very happy I have given this place a shot, they had wipe stations all throughout the building and everything was very neatly organized and clean. Has just about every piece of equipment you could possibly need, and will 100% be coming here every year that I visit from now on! Do not listen to all the 1 star reviews!

The owner/operator of this location is a slime ball. I joined for a 3mo paid in full membership of an overpriced amount of $197. I canceled the contract a few days later via written notice and my key was canceled. I went in and a guy I'm guessing was the manager said I will be getting my refund. Called days later and for weeks and now months I still haven't been able to even talk to or see a human being there. There has been 0 communication and nobody even at the corporate level will help. Never join this gym or any other Anytime Fitness.

Me and my girlfriend moved here recently and are looking for a new gym. Well be here for at least a year. Tried calling 5 or 6 times to confirm that they accept the 7 day free trial that they had on their website and there was no answer. We just went in there and the guy told us that they don’t accept the 7 day free pass, told us we were just vacationers, and there’s 10,000 other people on vacation that they can’t let in. Wouldn’t let me get a single word in. Based off them never answering the phone and the little awful communication I had with the guy, definitely would not recommend

I hesitate to say anything bad since the facility is always clean and organized. I just wish calls were taken and when you have questions more interest and enthusiasm was offered. The facility itself is fine and convenient to home for me. However, the owner of the business is never there. No one answers the phone, no one responds to emails. There's posted "office hours" but they are mostly bogus cuz more than 50% of the time no one is there during said office hours. So basically if you need anything from this business (new key card, cancel membership, new membership, etc) your straight out of luck. The only reason this place has any customers in my opinion is because there is only one other gym in the area. I've been trying to terminate my membership for the last 60 days with no success, I'd rather drive into wilmington or somewhere else than deal with this kind of poor business ethics.

I have been an anytime fitness member for several years. I used to travel often for work for long periods and there always seems to be an anytime nearby.

This location needs some help. Most of the equipment is in need of replacement and it hasn’t had a good cleaning since the pandemic started.

I hope it’s just a short term thing and the owner is planning on fixing the gym up a bit. I know the pandemic has been very hard on gyms and they didn’t get any bailout money.

I have called over multiple days, left a voicemail, sent an email request for membership information, wrote a facebook messege to the gym, and stopped by the location once to inquire about a membership, and have not heard a single word from them, after two weeks, I give up. I was a member of this Anytime location prior to the quarantine shut down last year. I always enjoyed working out here as it’s the nicest gym in the area and offers 24hr service. I’ve tried to rejoin for the last 3 months. I’ve called multiple times (during the offices so called revised hours) and even stopped by several times when the owner said he would be there (per the gyms voice recording). I still haven’t been able to rejoin because I can’t get in touch with management.

I’ve also heard of several other people wanting to join/rejoin and have all had similar experiences.

When a friend of mine who was wanting to join printed off a 7day free pass from the Anytime corporate website and was able to speak to the owner of this location he told her that “this location doesn’t honor the 7day free pass” (he told me the same thing 2 years ago).

On a final note, I had a monthly military discount last time I was a member that was randomly taken off? When I inquired about it and asked for 3 months of refunds for the amount of my discount the owner would either not respond to my emails, ignore my concern, or told me to come in to get it fixed...

Bottomline, it’s sad that this gym has such poor customer service, as it is the nicest of the 2 in town. However, I’ll take older gym equipment, a nice/honest staff, and owners that actually appreciate new members over this place.

From someone who’s been a member of both Anytime and Cape Fear Fitness, I’d strongly recommend the latter.

As a visitor, I was allowed only limited access to the gym, and this it really disappointed me. As an avid exercise enthusiast, I have used numerous 24/7 gyms in various locations and have simply been given a key card. Not completely understanding the policy to refuse a key card to visitors. Otherwise, the equipment was great and the exercisers were very friendly.

Zero child friendly options for a single parent. Kids have to be 14 to be allowed in the door (at other gyms there is normally child care or a membership at age 10). I was told I wouldn't even be allowed to bring my ten-year-old son into the building for 30 minutes while I worked out... I understand this for little kids but really... all he would do is sit and play video games on my phone.

Cape fear fitness, has memberships for kids at 10, and I'm sure they will take your money if you are trying to look for healthy alternatives for your whole family!

Facility did look decent, but after feeling like they didn't want my membership I didn't push looking around any further.
