Place is convenient, as there aren’t many gyms in the area. My issue is cleanliness, and during the week is not as much an issue as the weekends.

It’s a holiday weekend so this most likely will not be addressed until Tuesday. The pictures speak for themselves. It has been messy on the weekends, no wipes left for machines, no TP in the bathrooms, trash on the floors, etc. Last weekend a bathroom was completely not working, this week the door sensor is ringing constantly, so much so I can hear it over my music in my headphones. I would add video of it but google won’t let me.

Please do better and take care of the facility on off hours for your night/weekend members. It’s unacceptable to be paying dues for a facility that is left in such a way.

UPDATE: last two pictures are from a week later. Yes, that’s the same roach in the same exact spot. I left voicemails and reached out last weekend and have heard nothing back.

This is a good gym with a great bunch of people who train there and work there. I’ve had a great experience and the gym size is perfect for my liking. I appreciate the recent equipment updates, drinking fountain updates, and the ways they have improved the men’s restroom. They have cleaning wipes in the middle of the action which makes it easy to wipe things down before and after using equipment. Overall, I’ve been very satisfied.

Unfortunate Experience with Billing & Customer Service

I don’t often feel motivated to write reviews, but my recent experience with Anytime Fitness in Youngsville was frustrating and too ridiculous to ignore.

I encountered an issue with my membership fee processing, while my husband's payment went through without any trouble. When I called to get clarification and assistance, I was met with an unhelpful and condescending response from Piper. Instead of offering any real support, she was snarky and even laughed when I expressed concern over the $20 fee that was charged on top of my $20 membership fee. Her response? A dismissive "You should have read your contract" followed by an explanation that "Anytime Fitness has nothing to do with the billing company."

Apparently, this company automatically charges a $20 fee the moment a payment attempt fails—and it doesn’t stop there. They continue to retry the charge every few days, adding another $20 fee each time. This feels almost predatory, as there is no option to simply pay once a month. I had originally planned to continue my membership, but after dealing with the dismissive attitude, laughter, and lack of care from a staff member, I’m now left considering whether to request a contract cancellation or simply pay the full year upfront just to avoid these excessive fees.

The most concerning part of this entire experience was Piper’s attitude. When I expressed my frustration and mentioned speaking to a manager, her response was a sarcastic "Sure, call my boss," as if she knew there would be no consequences for her unprofessional attitude. If an employee cannot speak kindly or assist members in a respectful manner, they should not be answering phones in a customer service role.

I will mention she was super friendly and professional when we came in to join, and was easy to work with and informative . We decided to join and I am surprised at this most recent experience ..

Lastly, while Anytime Fitness may claim they have no control over their billing company’s policies, these types of fee practices ultimately reflect on the business itself. A gym that values its members should ensure their billing process is fair and their staff is trained to handle concerns with professionalism.

Would love to see changes in both policy and attitude moving forward.

I don't want to use this location but it's the closest to me.

The gym attendants never do work around the gym. Once I witnessed the manager and the attendants crowding around the squat rack and attempting to do some kind of exercise while they were supposed to be "working."

The rules are never enforced around the gym. I never see people wipe down their equipment. I see people constantly using 2 or 3 machines at once. People are on their phones and talking on the gym floor constantly. People are always slamming weights on the floor.

Haven't had experiences with ending the contract yet so I hope it's easier to terminate now.

Poor management, poor maintenance, poor cleanliness. Yes, I still go here 5 days a week. But the only reason is lack of options. This gym is a nearly constant disappointment. Try to find a phone number that works, or an email, or a schedule of staffed hours. Nope. None. It's actually hilarious.

I stopped in over Christmas and the gym was well equipped, not crowded (maybe because it was after the holiday), and fairly clean. All the members seemed friendly enough.

Equipment of note: A full cage, a squat rack/stands, a smith machine, at least one bench rack, maybe 200 lbs of bumpers. Ok barbells. No platform but the floor is rubber.

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership here but I can never get ahold of anyone at the store front. Called corporate and I’m told they can’t cancel it for me. Not a good experience.
UPDATE:
It's been 4 months since I had to chase someone down at the office to cancel my account and this month I randomly received a membership fee on my bank account. Yet again I'm unable to get ahold of anyone at the office and I'm having to take the dispute the charge route. This place is a SCAM!

So far I am pleased with the facility. I don't feel judged, over crowded or overlooked. They take the time to understand and learn you as a person. Very welcoming and understanding. Nothing like planet fitness where it feels like a competition. I like that this facility is very personal and doesn't have alot of people jumbled all on top of each other. Ready for my visit tonight. They have pushed me to try to love myself again and they don't mind being the person to give you that extra push. I'm excited about this journey. La tonya is amazing along side of her team too.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. I've been twice and have noticed a few issues. First, the facilities are neglected. Trash cans overflowing, walls peeling, old equipment, dust everywhere, bathroom door didn't lock, shower was dirty.

Second, the employees aren't motivated. There was only one or two workers that I saw (I went on a Tuesday at 4:30). I was in there for 2 hours and I saw them come out of the office 2 times for less than 30 seconds. Towards the end of my time, I noticed a few others went into the office. As I left, someone opened the door and they were all sitting in a circle on the floor talking. (While the facilities were still in desperate need of some tlc).

I don't blame the employees. This is typically symptomatic of poor leadership / ownership. Not sure who the owner is but clearly he/she is checked out. I would recommend driving the extra 10 min to the Rodgers Road location.

This gym is in pretty desperate need of updating. Floor is coming up near the free weights. The countertops in the bathroom are separating from the wall. Dumbbells are old and weight amount have worn off on most of the equipment. All the free weights are mismatched. It is very clear that the ownership behind this gym do not invest in this gym. Other anytime fitness facilities in Wake Forest and Durham are much nicer and cleaner.

The staff here is very friendly. This is the closest anytime gym to me, but I frequently drive father to other anytimes to avoid this one.

I like it because it is NOT a mega gym/fitness center because they intimidate me. It is small but has quality equipment and certainly enough of it to meet all needs.

It is kept very clean. It also provides sterile wipes for before and after courtesy wiping of shared areas of equipment. It is local and open 24 hrs if one requires. Proximity matters so one doesn't make excuses to avoid a workout.
Plus doors open with membership fob only thus safer.

I recommend for all ages and genders.

I LOVE this gym and the staff who run it! I have tried gym memberships in the past but never felt as connected and committed as I do with Anytime Fitness. The staff are extremely friendly, personable and knowledgeable. I am currently working with one of the personal trainers. He has and continues to support and push me toward my goals. I am making more progress on my body than I ever thought possible. I signed up with this gym in July and have since signed my daughter and husband up with their own memberships. I am thrilled with this place and for the first time in my life, I look forward to and am excited to go every single day! I HIGHLY recommend Anytime Fitness. It has been worth every penny! ❤️

From reading the reviews which i do often as I’m sure many other people do as well.. it’s come to my attention that many people who purchase a membership here are stuck in a contract that they no longer want to be apart of even after emailing & speaking to managers at this gym. It seems very unprofessional of them as well as the defensive responses to the reviews by the owner it seems like he’s in denial... might as well call your customers/previous customers liars. Great gym friendly and helpful staff. Its not a big gym but I like that. Anytime Fitness has everything you need to keep your body right anytime of day or night. Great to be able to get my workout in at 4am and get ready for work by 7 am. Everything is clean enough and the equipment is in excellent shape. Very hard to contact the employees. They don't respond to emails or voicemails but they are sure to draft the payment each month! All I want is to cancel my membership when my contract ends! I signed up for a membership not realizing that at night time when it's dark, the outside can see in but when you're inside, you can't see out- in most gyms, the tint works the opposite way! Because of my schedule, I can only work out at nights but I don't like the fact that I can't see outside but people from the outside can clearly see inside! The facility isn't as clean as it appears at a first glance and there was a few times when the sanitizing containers were empty- if there are no wipes then how are people suppose to wipe down the machines after use?? Needless to say, after I signed up, I only went to this particular location a few times! Anytime Fitness is a good company but this location speaks for itself.

The worst gym I have been to so far.
I'm new to the areas here. And I went to this gym on Teusday June 16th at 12 o'clock that's when the gym employee suppose to be there.

No on is there. I'm waiting almost 10 minutes and calling. The guy/employee finally shows up.

You can't work out until the employee gets there at 12. To let you in building.

I went the next day. Wenesday June 17th. I'm waiting at door. I'm calling the office number. Nobody is there At 12 to let me on. The guy/employee shows up late AGAIN. I almost walked away. After driving almost 20 to workout here.

So finally my last day here is today. Thursday July 18th. Its 12:00 o'clock and guess what Ladies and gentlemen no employee here. So I call the office. Many times. I wait. I'm mad/upset. 15 to 20 minutes to get here. And no employee.

So after waiting 15 minutes outside in the hot sun. I finally go to my car. And guess who I see getting out of his car/Jeep. The guy/employee. Its 12:20 now. He just walked in!!!!

Absolutely unacceptable!!!

I left. I didn't even waste my time to go back in.

The gym is also very small with not alot of Fitness equipment. I took a picture of the employee getting out his his car and walking into building at 12:20.

The employee was late all 3 days I visited! Absolutely unacceptable!

All I wanted to do is workout, get in shape, not be judged or harassased while working out, and continue on my day. I guess this is not at a possibility at this location.

This owner safety concern was unclear, however, what was clear was him trying to tell me how important he thinks he is. He was able to explain, over and over again, that he pays $8,600 in rent for that location and he supposeldly owns "7" other Anytimes Fitness, he lives in Oregon and comes to that gym location 2 times a year, and he watches all his members workout from his phone. Congrats ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wasn't plan on steping in this gym again as long it's currently owned by this person. Way to banned me after I made a review... classy..lol

Lives in youngville???? After I got done working out the "owner" walk with me outside to continue talking to me. He walk to a blue honda suv with California driver plates on. At that point being from California and trying to be nice and trying him to stop continue repeating himself, I asked him if he was California and that he just happen to be living in Oregon and responded by saying "No, thats my girlsfriend's car. I am here for Mother's Day visiting my mom". The whole time I was thinking thats a good tax write off to visit his parents and business at the same time. Dark poor lighting not much variety in equipment, been a member here for over 3 years and not much change until recently... Not sure who is controlling the TVs here but they are both on FOX news , If you like FOX news and depressing news stories to start your day this place is for you Id rather watch some sports highlights or unbiased news left or right. The Anytime Fitness gym in Wake Forest is much nicer, more variety and only sports highlights on the main TVs ESPN or ESPN2. I wont be back to Youngsville location anytime soon

Looked nice. I like the idea of 24/7 access to a gym. Cant be more convenient.
BUT the door is locked, cant see in and no one comes to the door. Check hours of staff, oh, missed it. Okay. Visited another location. Locked up, no employee.
Third try, entirely different day. I finally got an employee to come to the door and let me in. Said "Wait a minute, I'm talking to someone." There was a sweaty guy who had just worked out sitting in the office. Employee sat back at the office desk. I walked over to the edge of gym floor and looked. Handful of people in the gym. Looked decent but I hoped for a tour.
Went back to office area. employee still sitting there, talking with guy.
Okay, this guy already has a membership and you're making someone new with $$ in their pocket wait?
How do the owners make money off this place? Selling memberships, I'd imagine, right? Owner must be independantly wealthy to not care if new members can even get in the door, let alone speak with someone ready to buy.
Wandered closer, employee's not working in computer on this members account, theyre just talking casual. Able to hear them now, member is just shooting the breeze with employee.
I took my money, walked out, drove down to another gym and bought a membership on the spot.
Anytime *might* be a decent gym. I have no idea. I'm not going to find out anytime soon.

Was a member when they first opened & was a good gym for the size. Stopped going for a time & when I returned I was so disappointed to see that there is always multiple pieces of equipment with problems. From some not even usable to stiff pull-ups to TV not working. Not a very clean gym. I will not renew my membership.

There's not a whole lot of equipment. The bathrooms are a bit grimy. But most importantly, I wish they had told me you can't use other locations for like a month after you join. I need the wake forest gym bc my job is right there, I only joined in youngsville bc of its proximity to the house and I thought it didn't matter. Obviously I was wrong and the staff failed to mention this rule. For the price, I'm not sure if this gym is worth it yet
