For over 10 years, Barre-up has been the place that calms me, strengthens me, soothes me, sculpts me and supports me through all the wins and challenges. It is much more than a movement studio. It's a community of uplifting humans who always want the best for you. This is not your average studio. Barre-up is beyond average from its instructors to its class offerings. It doesn't disappoint.

I have been a member at Barre up for the past 2.5 years. This is the best studio I have been to. The love and care you feel every time you take a class is something you don’t get in other gyms. The owner Winter loves her studio so much. I recommend anyone who wants to get moving to take a class here, it truly has something for everyone!!!

This is a lovely studio that is clean, welcoming and full of natural light. Where else in Raleigh can you workout while enjoying views of the arboretum, and the cows grazing the fields at the NCSU vet school! Easy to get to, with lots of parking. Such a great mix of classes that I traded in my ClassPass for a monthly membership and I haven't looked back. I love the recent addition of the Bala weighted fitness bars to some classes!

I'm a long-timer at Barre-Up (almost 8 years now) and just now writing a review; shame on me!!! Barre-Up is truly one of the best kept secrets in Raleigh. This is a place that accepts you EXACTLY as you are, while providing a kind, energizing and supportive environment to grow stronger and healthier. Every teacher is different, but so wonderful in her own way. The studio is beautiful and really feels like a shared space with friends. If you want to work on all facets of personal strength - physical, emotional and mental, this is a great place to venture to. After 8 years, I only want to take more classes! Love Barre-Up and it's sweet, always-there-for-you vibe so much!!!!!!

I LOVE Barre Up! I’ve been coming to the studio for so many years that I had to update my review. About 12 years ago I started taking Buti Yoga classes from Winter and I still am! She is the master of Buti. It’s the one class that I tell everybody to try first. I also love Jen and her humor and spirit. Everyone must try her yin yoga classes. It’s like a natural Xanax. This is a wonderful studio. There really is no cliques or judgment, when I invite people for the first time they’re always nervous, but I tell them anybody is welcome at this class, no matter what level. All of the instructors are so kind, there really is a close community at Barre Up it makes you feel like a place where you belong. Lots of social events outside the studio to nurture the friendships.

I’ve been a member of this hidden gem of a studio for almost a year even though I’ve been driving past the studio for the five years I’ve lived in the neighborhood 😅 I am mad (at myself!) that I didn’t have the motivation to walk up those green stairs sooner because now I know how great I feel every time I walk down those green stairs!

The varied modalities are particularly great for mixing up my workouts and keeping things interesting. If you’re looking for support, smiles and strength - look no further than Barre-Up!

Joining Barre-Up has been one of best decisions I made since moving to Raleigh! The instructors and the members have been so welcoming. I’ve been going to Barre Up for almost a year and a half now. Each instructor brings something new to every class. And they always take the time to tailor the workouts for different skill levels and provide lots of options. There is also a strong sense of community at the studio. Each instructor greets you with a smile and takes the time to get to know you. Every time I walk into Barre Up, I know it’s going to be a great time!

Joining Barre Up in 2023 was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself. After growing up playing soccer and being active in free fitness classes and sports in college, I was struggling to make regular exercise a part of my regular “adulting” routine in my late 20s. Becoming a member at Barre Up has given me not only the physical fitness element of my life back, but the community is why I ever played team sports anyway - camaraderie. I could keep going but you should just come experience it for yourself!

This is the most special place. I have been coming here since 2014 and have never felt anything but welcomed, loved, and safe while inside these walls. The level of dedication and heart that the studio owner puts into this studio is overwhelmingly evident - from the instructors, to the space, to the unique and challenging (in a good way!) classes. It and the people who make it up are special. It is a fitness studio, and a good one at that, but it is so much more. Definitely worth giving a try!

Safe to say that this is my favorite workout studio in all of Raleigh- and I’ve tried almost everything! I’m a 15 year resident of the city and have been attending BU for more than half the time I’ve been here. I’ve had memberships at many different yoga and Pilates studios, as well as many different gyms, but I knew I found my safe space when I found BU.

BU promotes an environment of inclusivity, community, and self-confidence. Through a variety of classes, now online and in person, you can get the workout you want. Most importantly, you can workout on your schedule!! There are convenient morning, daytime, and evening classes hitting a variety of needs, so you will never get bored. The instructors are great and personable; their commands throughout class are genuine and not forced by a corporate script.

Also… each class is paired with a custom playlist that often keeps the adrenaline rush going long after class wraps up. BU is just the greatest!

I am so glad I found Barre-Up. It's not in a shopping plaza , so its unlikely you'll physically stumble upon it. But it has a great array of classes, some previously unknown and unique to me like Buti, and fantastic instructors, specifically the owner. I would follow her anywhere. The community is also such a huge piece. Come as you are, make friends, and/or let this be your escape. Support a local business and enjoy!

I’m obsessed with this place! I first tried it through ClassPass and loved it so much I ended up getting a membership. The instructors are not only fun and motivating but also super friendly, which makes every class feel welcoming. The vibe here is relaxed and genuine — none of that overhyped studio energy. Plus, the community is really warm and supportive. Definitely my favorite spot to work out!

Barre Up is truly one of a kind. The community here is welcoming, uplifting, and so supportive. Whether you’re brand new or a regular, you feel like you belong the moment you walk in. The instructors bring such great energy and always offer encouragement and modifications that make the classes accessible but still challenging. I’ve never left a class without feeling stronger, more grounded, and more confident. It’s not just about fitness here. It’s about connection, empowerment, and showing up for yourself. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a studio that cares about both body and mind.

I impulsively got a three week unlimited pass for Barre Up in January and haven’t looked back since! I love how I can take classes 5-6 times a week and have variety in movement while training consistently. The range of classes (yoga, Pilates, barre, strength training, etc.) offered is perfect for me. All the teachers are WONDERFUL and get to know you as a person and can help you work up to your individual best. Barre Up is such a different feel than a corporately owned and operated boutique gym— it’s a community and I’m so happy I found it!

I have really been digging this place! It's a woman owned business, and 99.22% women attended, and women taught. I was able to do a free class to try, but I opted for the three week, unlimited classes promo for $59 instead, this way I could get a real feel for the place. I am now on the monthly unlimited pass and just completed classes 109 and 110 today !! Go Me! 💪🏽

The studio encompasses the traditional, classical and the contemporary and modern movements. Whatever one seeks, be it mobility, balance, cardio, posture or simply a place to be oneself, this is where one finds it.

No-string-attached limited-time package is available to explore all Barre-up has to offer, check it out on their website.

Look for the green stairs and the spaces between which they stand are for parking, street parking across from the stairs is also available.

Amazing studio, owner, instructors and members. Doesn't matter if you are new on your exercise journey or well seasoned, it's perfect. I've been a member for a year. Each class has its own fun challenges and some classes rotate throughout the year so you don't have the same classes all the time. Try it, you will not be disappointed. Yoga, Pilates, Pound, Mobility classes (ahhh amazing Jenn), Buti, Sculpt and flow, and more too!

The best movement studio in Raleigh! I’ve been a member for several years now and am so grateful I found the studio for movement, my brain, and for the community! This is more than a movement studio, but a true community where you’re greeted by name when you walk in the door by someone who is invested in the lives of their students. If you’re looking for a place to challenge you and make you feel strong, this is it!

Barre-Up is my yoga home and offers a variety of challenging and fun, classes. Being new to the area I signed up for a week trial and haven’t stopped coming back! I truly have found community in the studio, and out. Barre up focuses on alignment and safety in every asana, and making the workouts enjoyable for each member no matter if it is your 1st class or your 100th. The owners and instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and always make the classes unique. I can’t even choose a favorite style of class because I love each one for how they challenge my body and mind!

Even after 4 years, I’m still excited to come to class and challenge my mind & body with a wonderful group of people!

I highly recommend this studio! From day one I felt welcomed and one of the best things about it is the community they have built. I had never done yoga before so I was a little nervous on what to expect as a newbie. All the instructors are amazing, thoughtful, and welcoming, especially Jenn (who I owed this review for a long time) I love all the classes she teaches, especially the Strength and Flow class - she always takes the time to help me master each pose and will guide me through the process of finding my breathing and strength and celebrates with me all my small achievements and progress. She has a very unique way of explaining things that just makes sense. I really really recommend this studio 💕🪷

I took a Barre + 15 min rollout class here through ClassPass. Parking at the location is not ideal but the class was great. The instructor was very encouraging about adding modifications up and down. Towards the end of class when we were rolling out it started to rain. With the skylights and tin/metal roof it enhanced the rollout relaxation effect.
