Burn Boot Camp in Matthews, NC features a constantly-changing mix of cardio, HIIT, and strength training so you never get the same workout twice. Our Members enjoy access to unlimited 45-minute workouts produced by top Trainers, designed to engage your full body and deliver complete body change. Each workout takes place on our signature Floating Floor that helps produce results for every fitness level. As a gym designed for busy lifestyles, we offer free Childwatch at every location, personal meetings with trainers, and a universal membership that allows our Members to visit any gym without drop-in fees. This community is everything I ever needed but didn't realize I needed! I'm a former D1 basketball athlete with an ACL surgery in my history and some pretty advanced arthritis for my age (44) so I never thought I'd be successful in a "bootcamp" environment. I had been struggling through strength training at home with Bodi and Youtube workouts with weights up to 20lbs and not making much progress and dreading each one.

I tried Burn after my college bestie had been in for about a year in VA. Here's why Burn has made all the difference for me:

- The community atmosphere. There is a social dynamic built into each workout in the best way. This translates into feeling really supported and part of something bigger-- we're all there to keep improving our bodies and our minds. This has a tremendous impact on all those healthy brain chemicals that bring way more motivation and drive than I ever had at an at-home workout.

- Personalized (but not overpowering) attention. The trainers are amazing! Very skilled and very kind with just the right amount of encouragement and push when you need it. Nobody is forcing you to take on more weight/rigor than you want to and you can always take a breather when you need it without judgement.
** They'll also ask about any injuries/areas to be aware of when you're new and keep checking in and giving modifications as needed. The "floating floor" has been an incredible part of caring for my knees.
*** Regular "check-ins" are also encouraged to take measurements and talk about your goals, adding an extra layer of accountability if you need it with skilled consulting on fitness and nutrition.

- I travel for work quite a bit and have visited other locations and the experiences always bring the same supportive community and deliver great workouts every time.

Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. I'm stronger (physically and mentally), have more balance and stability, and am just still in disbelief of how far I've come in just 4.5 months.

Everything can be modified for any fitness level/age. Don't let the "bootcamp" part of the name scare you!

Just joined and it’s been a great part of my routine. They offer childcare which has been a lifesaver. Also— Although there are many people in each class, the trainers are going around and fixing your form and encouraging you. It feels personalized, the trainers all know my name and I’ve only been there a few times. It’s a very encouraging/positive environment, even the members cheer you on. Excited to get stronger and hit my goals!

I absolutely LOVE Burn Boot Camp Matthews, NC!! I joined this past summer from a referral of a friend and it has been an AWESOME decision!! The workouts are incredibly challenging and difficult but amazing. But what gets me there at 5:30 a.m. 4-5 days a week are the awesome trainers and community of incredible people. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging!! It’s unlike any gym I’ve ever been to before and FAR GREATER!!! I encourage you to try it for yourself. You won’t regret it! I’m so thankful I joined Burn Boot Camp in October of 2021! The trainers are challenging, encouraging, and remember your name from the first camp you attend. They remember any injuries/modifications you need and make sure to follow up as the weeks progress. I safely trained throughout my second pregnancy at Burn, and Josh and his team were STELLAR at checking in with me and providing modifications. Great workouts and great coaches! Each day is a different workout, and no matter what time of day you go, you're going to have a great coach. It's a very supportive community. Mostly women, but there are a few men, but don't let that deter you guys! It's a great workout. It doesn't matter what your fitness level is. You work at your pace, and the coaches walk around to make sure you're doing the exercise correctly and assist you. If you have any injuries or issues like with knees or shoulders, they show you how to do modifiers to make sure you don't hurt yourself.

I was sold after my first class and childcare! I loved the atmosphere it made me motivated to keep coming. After being a college athlete and having a baby I lost all motivation with my fitness goals. But it was encouraging to see people on different fitness journeys that you can clearly see have results! Everyone is so friendly, encouraging and supportive. I feel so much stronger, the coaches are awesome! The workout is waiting for you, all you have to do is show up. You still get that one on one feel with all the coaches pushing you to lift more and correcting your form. Every workout is different so you don’t have to worry about plateauing. The most special thing is they remember your name and if they haven’t seen you in a while they check in! I truly cannot say enough great things! BBC Matthews has given me all of these things. I’ve gone to a number of gyms over the years and my biggest hurdle was staying committed. Due to the COMMUNITY nature of BBC Matthews, I was able to find real FRIENDSHIPS that have kept me ACCOUNTABLE. This has allowed me to CHALLENGE myself in staying committed, however the challenge comes easier now than ever. It is a place where I can really take care of my whole self and wake up everyday feeling rejuvenated and having PURPOSE! Josh and Lindsey have worked hard to make the environment feel like a family as have the other trainers. I’m thankful for this place. Additionally, I have four young kids (6 and under). I have been at BBC for about 5 years, 3 at Matthews with Josh and his trainers. They are knowledgable, encouraging, and fun. In a week, you get a full body workout. No two workouts are the same, so you never get bored and can adjust for your fitness level. You can go full beast mode, or work towards your own individual goals. Where do I begin…how about with the amazing trainers! I’m impressed with their ability to know each member and our strengths and where we need to be pushed! My second favorite thing…when you walk in you are always greeted by smiles! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Lastly, they offer child watch. Burn Boot Camp - Matthews is such a special place. I was so nervous to get back into working out after having a baby and I'm so glad I chose this gym.

From my first phone call with Josh when I was considering my free trial I was impressed with how welcome I was always made to feel. The trainers all do a great job learning the names of the new people and encourage us to learn each others' names as well.

I love the Focus Meetings that are included in your membership and how each day is different at Burn.

They know your name!! I've been going to Burn Matthews for 6 years now. The owner Josh as well as the other trainers knew my name within the first 2 sessions. This translates into not only knowing your name, but also your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. All of the trainers are accessible and respond quickly to questions and concerns and they give guidance based on my input. The workouts even after 6 years are never easy or boring and constantly challenge me to achieve more. Trainers easily modify workouts as needed to make them more or less difficult dependent on the situation. Best of all, I am so empowered by the amazing women in my Burn Family. They lift me up not only in the gym, but often outside of the gym as well. As one of the older (but not the oldest!) participants at 57, the workouts still feel safe and effective for me. I would not use weights as much if it not for Burn, and weight training is so important especially as we age. I love that I get to work out with people of all ages who inspire me and keep me feeling young! I am thankful that Burn Matthews kept us on track during a very difficult year by offering so many virtual workout opportunities until each person feels safe to return to the gym.

After having my first child, I was desperate to find a gym that had childcare so that I could continue my fitness journey. After finding a Groupon, I decided to try it out. I live in between two different locations, and decided to go against traffic to the Matthews location, and it was the BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! I went to one class, and was ready to sign up for a year membership! I’ve always been the type of person in the past that would join a gym, and never go back. I knew something different. I needed guidance, and someone (trainer) telling me what to do, to be accountable. I go to this gym 5-6 days a week consistently, for over 3 yrs now. I recently lost ALL of my weight I gained during 2020, thanks to the tools provided by the trainers, and consistent workouts! You will NEVER find better owners that truly care. I am obviously obsessed with this gym that has become my family, I have gained the best girlfriends, and am grateful that I am able to live with postpartum anxiety with the help of daily exercise! I am no longer on my meds, but PLEASE take them if you still need them! I just knew I wanted a way out of taking them. I am forever grateful to Josh, and Lindsay Rudolph for opening this gym, and having such an impact on my life, that I don’t ever intend on leaving! 💙💙💙💙💙

The thing I love so much about this burn location, besides the fantastic workouts, excellent caring trainers that correct form and are always happy to help with anything, just show up and the workout is going to be challenging, is the sense of positivity and camaraderie. We are all just competing with ourselves to get better and we are encouraging and inspiring others along the way. There is no judgment or feel that you have to be a size 0 to fit in. I think that Josh, the owner and main trainer is a huge part of this, encouraging us to meet someone new and be a positive impact on others every day. There is a good feeling there and it helps me every single day to go and work hard and I always feel great afterward. I would give 1 million stars if I could. I signed up for the 4 week trial and after the first class I knew this is where I am meant to be. Everyone, (trainers and members) make you feel welcome, encouraged and pushed! I started at BBC Matthew’s four and a half years ago. I have always been into health and wellness. I tried BBC Matthews on a Groupon and signed an annual contract after my first class. Josh and all of his amazing trainers are exceptional. The workouts are modified to each person’s fitness level, so you can walk in with no fitness experience or thirty years of experience and you will always get a great, challenging workout. My seventeen year old daughter took her first camp three years ago, and has been hooked ever since. We have been working out together for three years and it is our special time, which I am so thankful for. Burn Boot Camp Matthews provides a challenging and very rewarding work out experience. The trainers use every bit of the 45 minute session to make you work hard and push yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of doing. Each session can be packed, however, the trainer's always have a watchful eye on the class, making sure you're doing the exercises correctly and providing you a modification if you have an injury or other reason for doing an alternate form of the exercise. I joke with my husband that every workout is the hardest workout we've ever done and yet I walk out of there with a smile on my face every time. A random Google search lead me to Burn Boot Camp - Matthews and it was the BEST Google discovery EVER!! This is a fitness facility truly like no other on every conceivable level... the workouts are consistently fantastic (and can be modified depending upon fitness level); the trainers are the best in the business, not only in terms of motivation and encouragement, but also their knowledge and fine-tuning tweaks that build conditioning and avoid injury. The glue that holds it all together, though, are the people... there is NONE of the gym crowed nonsense I've seen other places... each person in every class pushes herself as hard as their fitness level allows and each person's energy fuels and motivates others in class; there's no cattiness, no competition and no beauty contestants - just a group of amazing women who are working hard and seeing results!! This is the best place for my Mom! I've watched her diet and go to a bunch of different gyms throughout my life. But... Burn Boot Camp has proven to keep her going each week. She LOVES it! Especially how the trainers give he motivation to push beyond her limits. I have gone with her on Saturday mornings too! Great bunch of people supporting each other to be their BEST!
