This review is strictly for the open gym play time experience as that’s all we’ve used them for so far.

Pros - Great price and fun environment for the little ones to burn some energy

Cons - We’ve been going for years and I don’t think myself or my wife have ever seen anyone cleaning and sanitizing after open gym hours. Our kids have been sick multiple times after visiting this place so we’ve stopped going (and they stopped getting sick).

The men’s restroom is disgusting. The faucet has mold growing on it and it’s been like this for a LONG time. I’ve tried contacting them about this directly through their website and I did not hear back. We went back today after several months of not going for my son’s birthday and there is still mold on the faucet. Paper towel dispenser not working, trash and dust on the ceiling fan and vent.

I want to continue going because our little ones really enjoy it but they don’t seem to take sanitation and cleanliness as a priority.

I would HIGHLY recommend washing your hands and your little ones hands if you decide to go.

The athletes are a commodity to them. Your child will not learn any new skills and the only chance for a win is if they are the only team in the division. Coaches are terrible!

Charlotte Allstars will swear up and down you are family but that IS NOT the truth. We were there for three years and the last two were nightmares. I would go ANY WHERE but CAC.

I shoudve listened to the review that said you had to be the right skin color.
My daughter was the only black little girl in her Tuesday night Tiny novice competition cheer class. She was keeping up with her rest of the kids and was doing great considering she also has pneumonia, however her contract only allows for a certain number of absences and since she was on her antibiotics plus on a comp team, sometimes she will have to complete while not feeling well as long as she’s not contagious and has doctor approval which she did. During the class I watched as a child pulled Nevaeh’s hair and repeatedly poked her in the back to get her to move out of the spot she was told to stand in so she could stand there and be first instead of my child. With my daughter being newly 4 and the other child looking like she’s going on 7, my daughter just ignored her.
Moments later my daughter is left by her class as they are transitioning in the hallway.
I decided to just let the front desk know what had transpired and asked them to bring my daughter out of the class as she only had about 15 minutes left and she was looking worn out due to the pneumonia and annoyed by the same girl now trying to be my daughters teacher and tell her what to do while the actual teachers were talking.
I get my daughter and we are driving home when I go to send her coach a message (class was still going on so I couldn’t speak to her then). As I’m going to open the app to message her coach it shows that we have been removed. I then go to my parent portal and it shows that my daughter has been unenrolled from the class.
I called and spoke with Megan who stated I had too many complaints and that we “weren’t a good fit” and hung up on me. A good fit as in she was the only black kid or the only parent that complained instead of sucking it up.
In another video I have with the manager, she states she was removed because I didn’t give them grace….
Fast forward to me speaking face to face with the owner today (I have a video of the entire conversation also). Who had excuses for everything and stated that they received 7 complaints this week and that 5 were from me. Actually only 3 were and they were valid complaints that could’ve easily been handled as of course two teachers can’t possibly watch all 10 or so kids at once.
The owner Kevin seemed cocky and as if he didn’t like his gym being criticized.
He even called me at 10:29pm asking me to take down the above video because it was mean. However, what was actually mean was the way my child was treated.
I had uploaded the video to YouTube as UNLISTED just so he could hear the full conversation. Nobody else without the link would have been able to view it.
You can find all the videos on both YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

Charlotte, allstars has been a wonderful place for all three of my children. We have been there for sometime now. Beginning with walking in the door the ladies upfront have always been more than helpful with anything that I needed. They always do everything with a smile on their face, and even if they don’t know the answer, they say give me a second I will find it out for you. Anytime I call up there with a question they always make sure to help me as fast as possible. All of the coaches that we have experienced in our years have always been loving, caring, and compassionate towards all three of my children. My husband and I know that the coaches love our kids like their own family. They want them to succeed not just in tumbling, or cheerleading, but in learning life skills, such as kindness, honesty, teamwork, and dedication. We are truly happy to be part of the CAC family. When our time comes and none of my children are off to college, I know that I will have long-standing relationships with everyone at the gym. Thank you for all you have given to our family.

My daughter has been at athlete Charlotte AllStars for the past 8 years. The staff and coaches are some of the most respectful people I've ever met. The lines of communication are always open and I'm always able to reach out with any question or concerns. My daughter is also on the staff here and loves being able to get teach the other kids this sport.

We are very blessed to be apart of CAC's family, and I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking to find a cheer home.

I have been a part of Charlotte Allstars for 30 years in one way or another. One of the owners, Kevin, was my cheer coach in high school, my daughter is going on her 8th year competing with their elite cheer teams, my son takes ninja classes, and I use the facility/coaches in the capacity as a school cheer coach. We spend hours at CAGC every week. It is a second home for my family. The environment and culture is one of love, caring and inclusion. CAGC fosters this by having people of all walks of life (race, age, gender, beliefs, etc...) by not only having a diverse hire, but having an open door policy to anyone.
Their staff is incredible. From Meg at the front desk (who knows everything about everything at the gym), the gymnastics and cheer coaches, to the managers and owners- their goal is to not only teach their wealth of knowledge about gymnastics and cheer, but to be there for your child and love them through their life stuff. I'm so grateful to CAGC for how excellent they are, not only at their jobs but also how well they've loved us.

My children have gone to CAC, for summer camps, and have been on cheer teams, as well. The coaches and staff are always in a positive mood. They are always helpful and kind. We love that fact that there are so many different nationalities, and so much diversity. There are different religions, backgrounds and beliefs, but all of the children/athletes are treated respectfully, and loved, unconditionally. Everyone is accepted, regardless of the differed paths we have taken, in life. CAC treats my children, like extended family. I could not think of anywhere else that I would like my children to spend time.

My daughter has been attending CAC for 4+ years. She started by attending a summer camp for cheer and had an amazing time! Coaches really care for athletes success not just as athletes but as individuals as well. What we love the most is that this sport and this gym has brought together all kinds of athletes with different backgrounds but they all have the common goal of working hard for each other as a team. CAC has been so instrumental to shaping my daughter and I’m forever grateful for it! Highly recommend this gym for any athlete looking for a safe space to be themselves and grow as athletes!

My son has been a part of the CAC family for more than 7 years. The leadership and staff there is like none other. Owners Kevin and Jenn foster a loving and kind relationship with all of the athletes, no matter their age and technique level. They help them to step into leadership roles as they grow. They get poured into so that they can in turn pour into others. I don't know of any other gym that actually encourages their young athletes to take on leadership roles and impact the younger athletes like CAC does. My son is who he is today as a leader, a personal trainer, and an athlete because of the coaches and staff at CAC. I could not be more proud to call this gym our home and the people there our family!!

If you are looking for a fun and a safe environment to take your kids for tumble classes, Cheerleading, or Gymnastic classes, then Charlotte Allstars is where you want to be. As a mom in the sport of cheerleading, it is very important to me to have my kids in a program that is fun, safe, and most of all, feels like family. We have been at Charlotte Allstars for several years and it is our second family. ALL of the coaches, the gym owners, the staff are kind and courteous and knowledgeable. My teenage daughter is also on staff at the gym, and it has been amazing to watch her learn from the top coaches in the industry. The knowledge she has gained has given her confidence in her own coaching abilities. Above all, Charlotte Allstars has created bonds for so many of us that are a part of it. We are family, from ALL different backgrounds, religions, cultures, and belief systems. We love one another like family and I am very thankful that my children and our family are a part of Charlotte Allstars.

My step-daughter went here for summer camp and I will say that the establishment has nice equipment and plenty of space but after learning about the environment they foster and teach the children, I will no longer be taking her here. The managers, Meg and Jenn, foster an environment where homophobia and racism thrive. I’ve first handily seen and experienced plenty of favoritism towards anyone who is not a person of color or anyone who doesn’t fall under their ideologies. I cannot express this enough, do not bring your children here unless you want them in an environment that is non accepting and full of judgment towards people of all walks of life. It is so heartbreaking to have such a hateful environment for children especially in this day and age, when these youth are heavily impacted in these developmental years of their lives. I will be taking them to Charlotte Gymnastics Academy instead and can highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a better alternative gym!!

This is my daughter's second year here and I thought it was a pretty good place but not so much now. I do not believe they treat all athletes the same. My daughter had two unexcused absences and the kicked her off the team. Not to mention, she missed the third one due to a after-school engagement in which she informed her coach the day prior. In addition, they just had competition the day before so she didn't miss anything detrimental. What a joke... you pay 200 bucks per month for 1 day per week and this is the treatment you get. Find a better establishment!

At first I wanted to give this place a try despite the reviews. I enrolled my daughter on intro tumbling 2 weeks into the program. The first day was a “so-so” experience. Directions on where to go were unclear and I repeated several times to the front desk we had no clue where to go after being abruptly stopped by one of the ladies (didn’t get her name) The second class was just a weird feeling. Though I know this place is not a drop off daycare, I trust them to at least release the girls (5-12yrs old) to a “parent”. This never happened on the 4 classes my daughter attended. She always walked down the hallway by herself and thank God I was always waiting for her. The last class she attended, I was walking from my car to the front door (mind you, the class ENDS at 6 and it was 5:59PM) and here comes my 7yr old daughter walking out the door unattended with the front desk RIGHT THERE. Needless to say, I walked right in and made this know to the 2 older ladies sitting there that my daughter walked passed them and out the building by herself and thank GOD I was walking toward it. All I got in response was “Well, the coach is supposed to release kids to their guardians” which again, that never happened the 4 times my daughter attended.

I read a review similar to this of a mom being late by 5mins and her daughter walking around the parking lot looking for her.

I should’ve listen to her review and more so to my gut feeling the first class.

I really liked this establishment at first. It has nice equipment and many programs for all ages. However, my kid came home crying one day about an instance with the manager, Meg. After learning about the hateful environment at this location, I will say I will not recommend this place for anyone’s children.

I was 4mins late to pick my daughter up. They must have let the kids out on time this day because the parking lot was empty and my daughter was walking around all alone . When I saw her she immediately started crying. What if I had gone to the gas station across the street and gotten run over? At what point in time does the emergency contact list get used?
Before that, around her second day of class she had told me that she had gotten lost going to the restroom and that she was sitting there for a long time and that no one found her until the end of class. It almost seems as if they aren't taking specific roll call and seeing what instructor has what kid at the beginning of class.
I've also heard the male instructor talk down to a grandmother that takes care of a little boy. He started telling her how bad the boy is misbehaving and that he is "sick and tired" of dealing with a boy. That seemed very unprofessional to me. We have decided to try another location.

My teen does tumbling here and seems to really enjoy it. We drive 30 minutes+ just to come to this gym. We tried another gym closer to us but their beginner’s tumbling class had a lot of younger girls and I could tell my daughter was too focused on being the older girl in the class so we started looking around for other gyms. We were super excited to find out Charlotte Allstars offers a beginner’s tumbling class for ages 8+. I’ve found the staff to be very professional and friendly-great combo.

Super disappointed in a recent visit here after several good experiences in the past. My sitter took my girls for lil bit play time and was told that she was not allowed to bring my kindergartener with the younger two kids in to play. I had taken them myself two other occasions this summer to this lil bit playtime without one mention about my oldest daughter, who had just finished kindergarten, not being allowed to play. They were looking so forward to it and were crushed when they weren’t allowed to play even after insisting that they had already been for this type of play this summer and had also done a week of summer camp here. I tried to call and speak to whomever was working the desk to help my sitter explain this, but there was no answer on the line guessing because they were so busy which is understandable, but apparently there was to be no budging on them being allowed in. If this policy had been an expectation from the beginning we would not have planned on it but it was very upsetting for it to be OK one week and not OK another week. My kids left crying and I will be signing up my girls for gymnastics elsewhere in the fall.

My kids (4 and & 7 years old) have been coming here for at least a year now for gymnastics class. They've always enjoyed it and have learned a good bit - certainly noticed a boost in confidence in this arena. My wife learned they also do birthday parties and we had my daughters party there yesterday. Nice private room setup and ready to go upon arrival, including signage to find it. Greeted by Marissa who was friendly, professional and ensured we had everything we needed for the party. "Coach" Marissa was extremely good at engaging the kids, having fun and keeping on schedule. They jumped in the pit, swung on everything, played games and had a great time. Thank you Marissa!

Not organized don't bother talking with coach's texting sending pictures bringing it up in meetings if it's not an email it's ignored dates of comps written on calenders can be change or shorten with out notice and you can be stuck with a hotel room for 2 nights when you only need to be there 1 if you miss something you will not be reminded basically your on your own till you notice something is wrong or missing if you do have a problem it will not be handle professionally you will just keep being told maybe this isn't the program for your child so highly consider this before signing your child up for Charlotte allstars

This place has been more than a life saver, and they have always been accommodating to our hectic schedule.

Overall it's a great gym and my kids love it. But.... It seems like they are more focused on cheerleaders than gymnastics and it's for both. My daughter has come home complaining after open gym because only the cheerleaders get to help with things not the gymnasts and it's called Charlotte Alastar gymnastics so it's should be equally between both overall great gym and great place to workout

Love Lil Bit Fit Time at this place. 10:30-12:00 weekdays, $3 per child (with adult) or $5 per family. Web site says 18 months - 5 years, but in my experience they've been flexible on age (though your child probably won't get much out of it if he's not walking yet). Fantastic and cheap way to keep my 2.5 year old occupied all morning!
