I gave CFY a second chance. My first bad experience was years ago when I bought a package and then was hospitalized with meningitis and recovering for 6 weeks. Once recuperated enough I went back. I was told my package expired no refunds/no exceptions. It wasn’t just the insensitivity when I explained my medical condition, it was the arrogant, haughty attitude delivered in front of other students. Fast forward today I book and forgot my water and it slowed me down going back to grab a bottle. I arrived at 11:33 for an 11:30 class and the door was locked. I was told that they decided as a studio not to allow late arrivals and it’s on the receipt. I said “but that’s AFTER you pay not before you submit payment”. She went on to talk over me and talk down to me. I’m thinking to myself “who reads the fine print on a receipt once you see “Confirmed”? This is a poor business strategy and suggests it wasn’t just a personality issue the first time, it’s an elitist environment with no sense of customer support. Locking the door feels punitive. Who does that? Professionalism would be providing a warning before booking then welcoming the person I n and kindly explaining. On the brighter side, another yoga studio opened in the area and I will try them out. Market competition is the best answer to poor customer support.

I have absolutely enjoyed my experience over at CFYC. I have been at this studio on and off for over a year now and every single time I comeback I have the warmest welcome. All of the teachers are amazing so much so that I decided to join the YTT program. Be sure to check out the workshops that are constantly in rotation;

I do not feel the same regarding this studio and will not return. My experience has varied and I’ve had more poor experiences as a teacher and student here than positive. I suggest doing your research on studios before committing to a membership or studio. Fair warning, this is a gossiping studio so be weary of sharing personal information. Honestly, more people should share their honest experience.

Celebrating a world class yoga studio from someone that has visited studios all over the country. Charlotte Family Yoga is a very well run and very professional studio. The instructors are among the best I've had the pleasure of practicing with since I began 5 years ago. Shout out to Kara, Vicie, Anita, Travonna, Kim, and the entire team. Thank you!

I’ve done hot yoga all over, but CFYC was next level. The room is small enough to trap the heat and humidity so you really get that sweat you come for. They have great showers with soaps, shampoos, and lotion…and towels! The staff is lovely and I will definitely be back soon.

CFYC is an AMAZING Yoga studio with even more amazing Teachers and participants. When I began here, I was new to Yoga but was never made to feel that way. I’ve always felt welcomed and personally seen and I notice it not just for myself, but for everyone who enters the doors. I am challenged in every class I take and I’m so grateful for all the kind souls I’ve encountered since beginning my Yoga practice at Charlotte Family Yoga Concord!

I love Charlotte Family Yoga! I’ve been attending on passes for the past year, but am pulling the trigger to become a member. I am 100% in love with their hot yoga. (To my surprise). The classes are FUN, invigorating, and they are helping me increase my strength and form. The owners, Vicie & Kara, are wonderful humans and incredibly talented instructors. All of the instructors bring their own style and deliver top notch classes. I couldn’t imagine my life without their yoga studio. I’m very grateful I tried the $50 two week beginner pass last March. I look forward to my classes each week!

I've been attending clases at Charlotte Family Yoga for over 2 years. I selected this studio because their mindset is to provide a welcoming all-inclusive community. The teachers here teach yoga as a passion project. They come from all walks of life and have full careers outside of the studio. There are no mirrors in the studio so you can learn yoga poses by how it feels within your own body. The teachers provide many options with the poses so you can decide what feels best for your body that day. They foster an inviting, non-judgement, let you-do-you environment. It's a great place to join whether you're starting out in yoga or seeking a place that you can grow in your own yoga journey.

I love the ease of using the MindBody app to sign up for their classes. The schedule provides specfic details of each class such as who teaching and how many spots are booked as well how many are still open. I'm able to pull descriptions of the classes and bios on many of the teachers too.

I highly recommend Charlotte Family Yoga. My husband decided to join after hearing me gush about this studio. He has found that it's greatly improved his flexibility too. Yoga and this community of teachers and students have been a positive impact on both of us.

I simply do not have enough great things to write when it comes to CFYC and the people which you will find there. This establishment has proven time and time again that anyone of any skill level can join in the fun.

The environment is perfect. There are no judgmental mirrors to distract you from focusing on giving your body what it needs. The instructors actually take time to get to know the students as time goes by. When individuals come together in the way that CFYC staff does, there is no other outcome than for faith and trust to inveterate more and more.

nice staff, lots of toys like weights and blocks, cheap mat rental, showers, good deals on classes, student discount, morning and night classes, good yoga flows for full body, lavender cold cloths at the end. BUT the staff doesn't answer the phone all day long, they don't let you in if you're later than 5 minutes EARLY to start time, they cancel classes without notice if there's no sign ups even though they offer walk in classes, their online schedule doesn't distinguish between locations, there's no mirrors to look at your form or body in session, and they require you to create an account so they can track your information as opposed to just taking your money and letting you be a free and private individual.

I looked this studio up and was super excited to practice some yoga only to get there and not be able to practice. I got to the studio at 7:15 when the class started. I was turned away because it was 7:17 when I walked up to the locked doors. And was told that they do not allow ppl to come in when class has started. Which I feel should be in bold print to make sure ppl know that when they book! I wasn’t even really late but to be turned away at 7:17 is ridiculous!!! Not to mention my money gone down the drain!! I really wanted to give this studio a chance!
UPDATE: Even though I may not completely agree with the policy I completely understand. One of the owners Karen text and called me to apologize and explain to me in detail why they have that policy. She also accommodated me with a class and a refund. She was there to greet me and make me feel welcomed. The class was relaxing which I definitely needed. And I really appreciate her for reaching out. So I would recommend to try the studio but DONT be a late ;-)

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I was searching for a studio that offered YTT, browsed studios from Rock Hill, Fort Mill/Tega Cay (where I live) and Charlotte and came across the website for CFYC. I saw the location and realized it was about an hour away from me but I continued checking the site out. I read about what the studio offers, classes, workshops, the YTT program, and it all sounded great. When I read the teachers bios I really felt drawn to the studio, I felt such good energy. I had found a few studios closer to me that also offered the program I was interest in, but I kept thinking about this one. So I scheduled a class and drove all the way there to feel it out in person. I instantly felt welcomed and a strong sense of belonging, everyone was so genuinely kind and friendly. The class was great, and even more the sense of community. I signed up and having been driving an hour each way for months now, and don’t mind at all because the feeling I get stepping into the studio each time is completely worth it. The owners, Vicie and Kara, have created a studio with such a magical atmosphere, where you can feel welcomed immediately and just know you are exactly where you should be. It really is a place for everyone, and I for one am so grateful to have found this gem. I can proudly say I completed my YTT program and WOW I have learned so much and truly enjoyed every minute of it! This studio has so much to offer, if anyone is looking for a studio to call home I highly recommend it! Drop in for a class and see for yourself!

Charlotte Family Yoga is truly one of my happy places! The owners are the most welcoming and inspirational I have encountered and they have built an incredible team of teachers. CFYC is an awesome yoga studio in
Concord! I have been going for 5 years
now and loving every moment. They offer
a great variety of classes for beginners,
intermediate, and advanced practitioners
as well as non heated and heated studio
classes! Besides the variety of classes they
have a great assortment of times for
classes from 6am, 9:30 am, to evening
classes. Classes are affordable and they
have a new student special for $50 for two
weeks of unlimited classes! I keep coming
back to this studio for the warm and
welcoming instructors I have met here
over the years. They really make you feel at home like you’re family!

Shallow clichés during class, inanities about "just be happy" that are nauseating to listen to. The owners have memorized the jargon and think they are being profound. Their responses to customers are discourteous and snide. The building is locked before class begins, so even if you are there early you will be locked out. Best to sign up ahead of time. But of course if you sign up and cannot arrive you will be charged extra, even if you are five minutes late and stuck in traffic. There are so many lovely yoga studios in the Charlotte area. Give this one a pass.

I love Charlotte Family Yoga Center. It is so welcoming and everybody makes you feel a part of the community right away. Teachers are fantastic, they assist students, offer options and don’t push in any way for certain postures while challenging the students who want and are ready for more advanced things. They frame yoga as a personal practice, which feels so true to me so I never feel pressured to do anything. They have a wide range of different classes so it is easy to find one that works. They are a part of my life, I cannot imagine going through life without my weekly consistent practice with them. I don’t have words to express how important they are to me. THANK YOU CFYC!!

CFYC offers a variety of classes for different ability levels. I enjoy the opportunity to practice from my house with the virtual class option or in studio. With consistent weekly class offerings and monthly workshops, there's always something special going on at the studio. Monthly themes and poses bring continuity to the classes. Those new to yoga will enjoy a yoga flow or a heated, long, slow deep yoga class. CFYC also has great kids and family classes in addition to hosting Yoga Girls Tribe.

So hurt and disappointed by Charlotte Family Yoga. As a single mom, I really loved and appreciated the Girls Tribe Jr. they put together for younger girls. My daughter was able to complete most sessions this summer before we were committed to other things. I was sent an email they would be sending out a photo but never received it. I emailed and did receive a photo and sweet letter, also indicating a new round of girls tribe.

I emailed them on November 1st to confirm receipt of the photo and express interest in 3 of the 4 remaining sessions of the group. On the 2nd, Kara confirmed she could attend and looked forward to seeing her. Flash forward to the 10th, the night of the group, I email to inquire if there is a payment link I can use to donate for class. Vicie emails me back to let me know class is full.

My daughter was already dressed, we had planned to leave in 20 minutes, and it was on our calendar for the next 3 weeks. Could not be more disappointed or upset with this situation. I asked for a call, did not receive one. I tried calling Vicie’s cell and the call would not go through. I cannot imagine if we showed up and were turned away in embarrassment.

We will not be back and will not recommend to anyone.

I really can't say enough how much I love this place. The atmosphere is very calming and positive. The owners are Amazing and their teachers just as amazing. I wish I could take all the classes but let's face it, yoga isn't are "easy" as you would think. One of my favorite classes is the Heated deep stretch - we all need a little heat in our lives for that deep stretch! Vicie, Robin and Kiesha are equally amazing when it comes to this class. I also love the power class if you are up for a challenge/work out with Lynn. The slow and deep classes are equally beneficial and taught by Kara.

I prefer in person courses but have taken them online via zoom. There a many other teachers I haven't mentioned but you truly can not go wrong with anyone here. They genuinely care about you and your experience. They will even modify their routine they teach if you need a little extra care on certain areas. More than anything they give the positive encouragement you need to succeed or to just have a better day. I am lucky to be a part of this "tribe."

EDIT: I forgot the mention the kids play and kids yoga! Yoga is for all ages and I do my best to teach my little one the values of staying active. This is NOT something "just for girls," the benefits we each reap from yoga are endless. It's great for all sports to help prevent injuries and become a better team player.

Had I not had such a bad experience since the closing of their prosperity location, I would of given a 5. Great heated deep stretch classes. The manager told me nearly 1 month ago to expect my refund check in the mail. I am getting a refund because they closed the local and the new local is not anywhere near me. I have not gotten the check, I have left many messages and sent probably 8 emails and no one has contacted me. Beware.

I hope I found this place sooner. I've been just doing yoga from watching Youtube and one day I decided to find a real yoga studio and practice. Charlotte Family Yoga Center is more than I could ever ask ! I love going here to practice yoga and the all the yoga instructors are friendly and helpful. I've had classes with Sharon, Diane, Viji, Michelle, and Tineli so far and they are all wonderful. I don't know how they remember everyone's name but they do and you really feel like you're a family here. I love that they challenge me but still feel comfortable and open to any questions I might have. I could keep go on and on about how amazing this place is but then I'd be talking for hours so I'll stop now Haha but seriously, anyone who's interested in Yoga should come to this place and practice, from beginners to pro yogis from all different ages! I LOVE CHARLOTTE FAMILY YOGA CENTER! and I hope my review would encourage others to make the first step towards yoga which restored my physical and mental health.

I have had the opportunity to watch this center grow and mold into what it is today. I don't do yoga alot but when I do I travel out of my way to go to CFYC. I love the instruction and how the teacher isn't practicing but instead assisting. It makes a huge difference. I always feel welcome and I love that sometimes the classes are full. After finally venturing outside of my home in order to build my beginning practice, I have found another home at CFYC. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it is completely down to Earth and rooted in the values of growth, family, and community. Free of the pretensions of other studios (and I have tried a couple), the incredibly warm and experienced teaching staff don't treat "modification" as if it is a dirty word, encouraging beginners and challenging more advanced yogis alike.

CFYC is certainly a safe haven for growth and escape, to get out of mind and into the body-to be present on the mat. The experience begins the moment you walk into the building and up the stairs into the studio as divine aromas-sometimes lavender, sometimes another musky, warm scent-immediately helps me to turn my brain off and prepare myself for the practice ahead. The space itself is beautiful and always spotlessly clean. Although I do not have children myself, I think the fact that CFYC offers free child care while moms and dads practice is a testament to the values that they espouse.

This studio has excellent class variety offered on an accessible schedule; speaking of accessibility, all classes are $8 on "Freaky Fridays" and other $8 drop in rate classes are provided throughout the week. There truly is something for everyone at CFYC!

If none of the above is convincing enough, you KNOW a studio is awesome when an instructor sends you a hand written thank you note to welcome you after your first class. THAT is sincerity and community building at its finest!
