We love this dance studio! The teachers are so sweet and patient with the little ones, and they make learning fun. We could not say enough great things about Fireflies preschool! This is my daughter's second year here and we have been so grateful to have found such a gem. The staff is incredibly warm, organized and communicative. It’s an environment that truly makes you feel like you’re part of a family. They’re constantly coming up with fun and creative programs, camps and additional classes that kids can choose from throughout the year which we always look forward to! The director, Mrs. Tracey, is so personable and treats the kids like they are her own. Her passion for teaching and extensive experience in education is a true gift. The owner, Mrs. Christy is always present and you can really tell how much she values this wonderful establishment she has built! We are so happy to be a part of the Firefly family!

My oldest daughter has danced at CDE since the age of 2 1/2. She is now 14. We originally chose dance as she would always dance around the house to a commercial jingle. CDE was the first studio I found when I searched for studios near by. I never imagined that her love for dance would grow as much as it has. Through her many years attending CDE, she has become a strong, confident dancer. My younger daughter also dances at CDE. She too, began at 2 1/2. She has now danced for almost three years. We love it here. We feel like a family and am grateful we discovered CDE many years ago!

Christy's has been so welcoming to my girls after our studio closed. Having danced at another studio for 10 years, it was hard to shift gears and find a new studio. CDE has been a blessing to our family. Their teachers and staff are friendly and professional and their students are friendly as well. Our daughter has been apart of the new preschool program run by Mrs. Tracey and we have had the best experience. Mrs. Tracey truly cares for all her kids and I love the curriculum she uses. Christy and her team went above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday party awesome! They made her feel so special. She absolutely loved the whole party. As soon as we left, my little girl said 'that was the most fun'! CDE was so helpful with the set up and accommodating to all of our needs. All of the kids at the party loved the dance routine and tumble too! The staff even surprised my daughter with a present. We truly appreciate the hospitality and I am so happy we chose to have the birthday party at CDE! They truly are amazing!

I danced with CDE growing up and now we drive half an hour each week for my daughter to do the same. It’s so much more than just a dance class and each instructor takes the time to truly teach your child something new. We couldn’t ask for a better dance family and we highly recommend trying it out!

CDE is by far one of the best dance studios in our area! We have tried several, and the time and care that Christy and her team take to teach technique and really get to know your child is above and beyond! We have been going to CDE for a little over a year and already every teacher (even those she hasn’t taken from yet) and office staff member know my child by name and make it a point to speak with her and encourage her on her dancing. Aside from the excellent technique that is taught, choreography is always age appropriate and gives each age group enough of a challenge. There is not a class that goes by where a teacher is not directly instructing your child by speaking with them one on one at their level or even getting down on the floor and helping make sure footwork is exactly as it should be. The entire staff is welcoming, allowing you to view your students at any time and they are always open to sitting down and speaking with you at any time. We are so happy and proud to be a part of CDE!

I am truly thankful we found a dance studio my girls love. We are going on fours years now with the studio. Every year my girls want to keep coming back and add more dance classes. Christys Dance Explosion (C.D.E.) is my favorite discovery since moving to NC four years ago. I didn't know anyone when I moved here, so it was pretty lonely. Then Covid came along and isolated me - which didn't help. Next, I endured two difficult surgeries in 2020, after which I was put on prescription steroids for an extended period of time. That resulted in major weight gain, and other physical ailments, which led to my feeling even worse. Physically, mentally and emotionally - I no longer recognized myself. In an effort to get my health back on track, I decided to re-visit my long lost love of dance. I danced semi-professionally in my 20s, but that was 25 yrs and 85 pounds ago. I was scared to dust off my dancing shoes knowing my reflection in the studio mirrors wouldn't be what it once was. Honestly, it was a challenge to find any adult classes at all. I tried another studio over the summer, but the instructor spent more time talking with the other adult students about their kids and school than teaching dance. When I finally took my trial class at CDE, it was like a long lost piece of my heart and soul had been reignited. I felt a spark inside of me for the first time in years! The instructors are true professionals. They are not only incredibly talented, but kind, patient and encouraging. Their example truly lights a flame inside of me each week. There is a range of ability levels, ages, sizes and shapes of the adult students, but everyone is down to earth, hard-working and welcoming. I felt at home from day one! I'm shocked at how much I genuinely enjoy my tap class and my ballet class gives me the chance to feel graceful again. Both classes stretch my mind, body and soul as I work to recall combinations and the technical details of executing them properly. Without a doubt, CDE has contributed to my improved health and happiness. I'm catching glimpses of myself again and it feels great! Now I understand why the studio is called Christy's Dance Explosion. My feet are on fire and I'm truly grateful to Christy and her incredible staff.

This is a great dance studio for all ages and levels of dancers! My daughters have grown in confidence on the stage and off! We love all the wonderful opportunities they experience as they are learning ballet, tap, acro and jazz skills and also preparing routines to perform on stage where they get to work on overcoming fear and getting in front of people with grace and confidence! They also learn to work on a team with other kids and follow directions from teachers too. I can't stop thinking of wonderful things to say about all of their teachers, the admin staff and director truly work hard to keep a loving and encouraging environment for the kids to achieve their goals and have a ton of fun too!

Edited to Add: I have even started taking adult ballet and strength and stretch classes there and this has become my home away from home! The classes are so much fun, great exercise and a great way to build friendships too. I highly recommend the adult classes for anyone looking for a fun outlet to relieve stress!

We love our CDE family!! My daughter started dancing 2 years ago with a summer class after leaving gymnastics. Every year, she has grown and learned much more than I can express. Through private lessons, she mastered skills that she was less than confident about before. Taylor's patience and knowledge is amazing! Christy also goes above and beyond to communicate with families and to care for our dancers each week. During the pandemic, she rose above once again to create fun and exciting ways for our kids to experience dance, hone their skill sets, and still build lasting relationships. Although we've only participated in two showcases, her ideas and planning of these produced amazing results. We are thrilled to have found Christy's DancExplosion and never want to leave!

Our daughter has been dancing at CDE since she was almost 3, she is now a sophomore in high school. She has had wonderful teachers who push her to do better and improve on her technique. They give suggestions and recommendations for class choices. Our daughter has also been given opportunities to work with younger dancers to share her love for dance. Christy and her staff go above and beyond to keep us informed and to make the girls feel welcomed. Our daughter has not only gained wonderful friendships she has also become confident as she has grown through the years.

We joined CDE 3 years ago. We were at a different studio but once my daughter found her live for clogging I knew CDE was the place to be. I can’t even tell you the difference I saw in her clogging from just 1 year at CDE. Now I can’t get her to stop even when we’re talking. I also started in an Adult beginners clogging class. It has been amazing! Honestly it’s great exercise but more so it’s great to have me time with other ladies!!! Our house loves CDE!!!!

My children have danced there for 5 years. Overall, this studio is a fun, family friendly damce studio offering many choices of dance. The class offerings are prioritized for girls, and competition track. Adults have also become a favorite offering in the past few years! Sometimes, with scheduling in particular, it has felt though that the rec and boys get leftovers. Our main reason for the 3 star review is related to the limited interactions with staff. There is little time given to parents to find out how their child is progressing even a written checklist of what to work on to improve each semester would be better than no communication. You just have to wait and find out at the end of the year whether they progress to the next level or not. In line with this, our son was the only boy there at one time in ballet. His apoearance onstage seemed to prompt a sudden rise in interest from other guys to take dance more serious. Now, there are three options for boys to take instead of one. He hasn't been able to continue this season due to scheduling conflicts with midweek church service. However, not one staff member asked why him or me why he isn't taking (when we are up there with my daughter), or even said hello to him. That has been hurtful considering the amount of time that both the kids and I have invested with CDE.

My sons love Christy's DancExplosion. I wanted my 2 sons (ages 10 & 11) to take dance classes, because me and my husband both have two left feet. I didn’t want them to be afraid or embarrassed to dance as they get into their teen and adult years. I knew we couldn’t teach them, so I chose CDE. We are a karate family, and I initially chose CDE because it is right beside our dojo. I lucked up! Not only is it convenient for me, but my sons absolutely love the studio. They look forward to attending their classes every year. They have been taking Hip Hop classes at CDE for the past 2 years, & may take a Jazz/Hip Hop combo class this year. The teachers are awesome, and the staff is great to work with. I would definitely recommend Christy's DancExplosion!

My daughter has danced at Christy's for 6 years and we have been very pleased with the studio. The instructors are professional, encouraging and well trained and share their love of dance with every student. There are a variety of dance styles taught, which has given my daughter the opportunity to explore various classes to discover what style she enjoys most. And the routines/costumes are age appropriate. We also value the culture that Christy has created at the studio (Parents and dancers are supportive of each other. We made the move over to Christy’s about a year ago and I literally cannot say enough wonderful things about CDE!!! From the studio, to the teachers, even seemingly simple things like making payments (hello easiest portal and staff to help when you need it!), everything has been amazing! Seriously these instructors are wonderful!! My daughter seriously loves it here! If your son or daughter is interested in any genre of dance, check out CDE, you will not be disappointed!!

Absolutely LOVE CDE!! I actually danced at CDE growing up (and still do on the adult clogging team!). I am so happy that my daughter is now able to be part of the CDE family as well. Christy's staff are amazing and whether your child is on a competitive team or in recreational classes, they will have fun and be challenged to grow each year. I appreciate that Christy makes sure that costumes and music are tasteful and age appropriate. I now live in Cary, but drive the extra 10-15 minutes to bring my daughter to this studio because I can't imagine being anywhere else!

I love DancExplosion. Both of my daughters have taken dance classes there. My youngest has been there since she was 3 (she's now 14), and every year she asks to add on another class. It is great for her self-image and self-esteem. She feels a strong sense of accomplishment, especially under a quality instructor. I have attended dance recitals for over 12 years, and this past year's was by far the best (2012). It wasn't just a showcase of the girls' talent, it was also very entertaining and some of the routines bordered near professional level.
