I took a beginner aerial silks class today!! It was so fun! 😊 I have absolute zero experience with any aerial exercises. This class was challenging enough to be interesting but not so challenging that it was too hard. The instructor was very kind and even took a video of me. I totally recommend this class to anyone who's a beginner and wants to try something new! I would love to come back.

Cirque de Vol is a gem! Their space is so welcoming, and their instructors make you feel right at home. Their classes make learning aerial easy and accessible, while also pushing you to challenge yourself in unique and exciting ways. Natalia and Colleen had me feeling like a performer by the end of my first class!

Completely new to aerial, started this year - I’ve taken several classes here over the past few months, and all have been wonderful with friendly, welcoming, and encouraging teachers. Here are some details about each one:
Strength & Flexibility - I started this while doing physical therapy for an injury, and also just having no physical strength after not leaving my desk enough, and Mena was incredible at meeting me where I was, helping me pinpoint certain muscle groups to exercise, and giving me alternative or additional exercises to work on my specific issues. If you let her know what you’re struggling with and are vocal about what you’re experiencing, she can often help! I’m through nearly a year of weekly classes now, and much stronger and more flexible already!
Aerial Yoga - Several fantastic teachers offer different things depending on what you’re looking for. Caitlin’s Sunday classes are a good mix of gentle and challenging, and she always gives options for the harder or easier versions of poses depending on how you feel that day. Shannon’s class is challenging and peaceful, and will help you with your strength. Colleen offers a variety of options, and now I usually take her Level 2 class, which is a perfect step up if you’ve been doing it for a while or need an extra challenge. All the teachers are excellent at guiding you through each pose or move.
Intro to Lyra - Natalia starts with a killer warmup that really helps with conditioning to get you ready to use the aerial hoop. I felt I was not strong enough to do much when I first came in, but she showed us several moves that were fun and made me want to come back. You’ll definitely get stronger doing this class, but I was really starting from zero, so I’m coming back later once I’m stronger.
Intro to Aerial Fabrics - Mena showed me that even if I’m still working on my strength, there’s a lot I can do in aerial silks and sling. This is the perfect drop-in class to keep working on strength while also having a lot of fun. Mena’s great at explaining each move and helping where I struggle.
Open Level Aerial Dance/Aerial Sling - Colleen brings a lot of fun ideas and sequences to this class. As a beginner, once I got there, I realized that it would have been better for me to start with something more like Intro to Aerial Fabric to get the basics first, but I was still able to start learning in the moment. Colleen usually gives enough for the newer students to start working with something and the more advanced students to really fly, which seems like a tough balance to strike! It’s been a great way to get stronger and dive into routines, and now I’m getting ready to sign up for my third 6-week session!

I have had so many disappointing experiences with this business. It's awful.
I have registered my child for Track Out camps over the past few years, and they always canceled on us at noon the day before the camp. Always by email on SUNDAY at noon. I even emailed the week before to confirm the camp was going forward, but still, they canceled on the Sunday of the camp week.
They always refund our fee, but as a 2 working parent family, we need stability in the places we book for her activities. We always have to scramble and our child is devastated.
The sad part my daughter loves this camp. The 2 times we were allowed to attend this camp she had an inspiring time. The owner is the problem. Not the staff.
Honestly, the pursuit of profit for this business is gross. I know that small business life is hard but they put profit above customers. They always cancel the camp when it's only 1 kid. I understand that isn't going to be a profitable camp but I booked the camp at least a month+ in advance. There is plenty of time for them to plan
It's so disappointing. It's infuriating. Avoid this Track Out

We had a fabulous experience tonight in the Intro to Arial arts class. The instructor was great - very encouraging. My teen was introduced to 5 different apparatuses (apparati?). She's kind of timid, but the small class size and encouraging coaching was 5 stars. She wants to go back again. It was $25 for this introductory class - which was totally worth it.

We had an amazing birthday experience for our 7 year old daughter. Our instructor was an absolute gem! She challenged and supported each and every student. They all left fully in love with aerial silks. She even put on a little “show” with extra tricks for them to watch while they ate their cupcakes. Such a wonderful experience!

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Cirque de Vol is grapes -- sweet and fun.
I stopped in to Cirque de Vol while traveling, and I was able to do a drop-in class for their first week of a session. While the space seems well-loved, the rigging appeared to be safe, and I enjoyed the warm-up sequence.
Parking was a nightmare as a non-local (I did do the process as prompted by the signs for paying for parketing), and I ended up getting a $125 fine (which has now been waived). Do your research beforehand for parking!

This place is such a gem in downtown Raleigh; you can live a lot of places and not find classes, workshops, and instructors quite like this. Beyond series of classes for adults and children, and children’s camps, they also have find one-off workshops for things like flexibility or hip mobility, and they do performances and stuff like that at local community venues!

I’ve been interested in taking aerial fabric classes for many years so I’m happy to have found this studio. Located in downtown Raleigh it’s a fairly large studio and they offer many different types of classes (silks, slings, Lyra, trapeze, and others). The instructors I’ve met so far have all been very kind and knowledgeable so I would recommend signing up for some drop in classes if you’re interested.

My 7 year old attended a week summer camp at Cirque de Vol and they loved it. Everyday they came home excited to tell me all about what they learned and practiced. At the end of the week, I received a video of the routine they did for the camp. It was so nice to see their hard work! I was really impressed.

As a child I was a gymnast and a cheerleader, so in search of an adult hobby, I decided to give Cirque de Vol aerial sling classes a try. Nearly 3 years later and I am still doing and loving it! It is a workout, without feeling like a workout - I've built strength and flexibility, all while having fun. I love the sense of accomplishment that comes with achieving a new skill. Over the years I have had a few instructors, all of which have been great. I cannot recommend Cirque de Vol more!

In the open gym I went to, the people were friendly and I got to practice what I needed to.
Great facility! Loved having the mirrors on the wall and a pully system for rigging so students can choose their ideal height for aerials. Covid friendly too which I appreciated.

We are new to Raleigh and werelooking for a fun, safe activity for our daughter. She was excited to try the “Intro to Circus” class. Everyone at Cirque de Vol was exceptionally nice and fun to be around. Megan, my instructor for the aerial yoga taught the class in a professional, as far as teaching us the poses, and extremely nice. I was not able to finish the beginner's class and Megan was so sweet about it. We had a nice conversation after class. Bonnie was very helpful in finding other ways that I might could use my pass. I would highly recommend Cirque de Vol if you are looking for a fun and wonderful way to exercise.

My brother bought me a gift certificate to Cirque de Vol almost 2 years ago after I expressed interest in trapeze classes. I contacted the studio to see if they were planning to open up Sunday trapeze classes and was told to wait and see if demand creates a weekend class. I waited and waited and waited... nothing. I finally decided to register for aerial silks instead. But wait! It turns out that my gift certificate expired after 12 months. You know the gift certificate that mentioned *NOTHING* about any expiration date!
I find the practice of expiration dates for gift certificates pretty shady as is, but expiration dates that are not explicitly stated are a whole new level of sketch.
Instead of apologizing and honoring the full value, the manager offered me 50% of the certificate's value so I can "still enjoy the classes". Yea, hard pass.
Horrible customer service.

I have been a huge fan of Cirque de Vol studio since its opening five years ago and I highly recommend Cirque de Vol to anyone who is interested in learning circus arts and more! I have taught workshops, attended dance classes, and frequented several of the ecstatic dance nights hosted weekly at CDV. I LOVE that CDV provides local artists a safe place to practice their craft. Not only is it an amazing community to be a a part of but I also appreciate that they offer a variety of classes, workshops, performances and very affordable rehearsal space. Since I started working with CDV I've always felt a profound sense of belonging to a community that really values the performing arts. AND legit instructors who are well trained in their skill set!!!

First of all, I called ahead to make sure I could join the flexibility class. I was told that because it was my first class I wouldn't be charged. They just said to come 10 minutes early to fill out a form. I tried to get there 10 min early but they failed to mention that there is next to NO parking. I circled the block like 3 times and ended up walking in just as class started. I explained that I was new and the lady at the front desk was very unwelcoming, had me fill out a very quick form and then asked if I would be paying a drop in. I informed her that I was told my first class was free. Her face immediately got sour and asked "WHO told you that?" I said " I don't know whoever was on your phone an hour ago" She said, well thats not how we do things but ok you can go to class." So I joined. The stretching itself was fine. Good class, although the space was small and crowded for the number of people and it was hard to hear/ see the instructor. After class, no one came up to me, not the instructor or the front desk woman. So I just left. Additionally the floor was dirty and they did not wipe off the yoga mats before putting them away. I won't be going back.

My daughter absolutely loved summer camp this week! The staff is very courteous and professional. They really engage the kids with not only the apparatus but also with games and using everyone's creativity and imagination; I also think that their camp develops each camper's self-confidence. There were also professionals who came in during the week to demonstrate for the kids (hoop, trapeze, etc). On Friday of camp week, there is a group performance, and the campers get to showcase what they have learned. I was truly amazed at how much the kids did after just one week, but most of all, the campers had a lot of fun! I really recommend their top-notch summer camp.
