I've only been going for a bit but I love this gym already. The owners are really nice and so helpful. The machines are so cool and old school. It's open 24 hrs so lots of time in the day to get your workout in an almost empty gym. Good vibes. Strong people. Motivating environment.

Extremely overpriced for a small gym.

I’ve been to gyms all over the world and throughout the US. Even world renowned Muscle Factory in Thailand and Quads in Chicago both for cheaper than this place comparatively.

I live across the road but work offshore and am gone for 4-6 weeks then home for 4-6 weeks.

I would have became a member here and paid each month that I am home though $95 for 1 month is just plain ridiculousness.

UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE:

I left this review more than four months ago and now already have another gym membership for me and the wife.

A one month pass is far from a “guest” pass. In addition your excuse for that rate being for “non locals” also insinuates you could care less about those that are “not from here”, so why should they come to your gym when you want to over charge them…?

I’d also bet money that you are actually a transplant and a “non local” yourself. Such a double standard aye…?

That rate is just plain ridiculous. Either offer a reasonable monthly pass or don’t offer one at all. A monthly rate is not for “guests” it’s for people that have unique schedules or have whatever reason they have for needing a monthly rate. Maybe they want a month to check your gym out.

The rate is just plain greed, no other excuse. The gym isn’t even that big and doesn’t offer that much equipment choices.

A no frills gym is supposed to be cheap not overpriced. Why should I or anyone pay 3x the price of other gyms that have the same equipment(actually more) plus more options like a sauna, classes, free guest passes, training sessions included and more, the answer is they shouldn’t.

Coastal Muscle Gym is a must see.
The owner had a dream of opening an old school lifters gym, so he started collecting equipment, sometimes traveling for hours to pick another piece up. Who does that???? This guy does!!! Tyler and Brianna have a true love of the sport and would love to have you visit the gym. This is a true lifters gym, for both men and women! Go check it out. You may even get a doggie high five from Honey.

This is the gym Wilmington has been missing. The owner’s passion shows in every detail, from the perfectly curated old-school bodybuilding equipment to the motivating (but not intimidating) atmosphere. Fantastic body building gym with great owner.

If you are looking for a hardcore bodybuilding gym with old school atmosphere, this is your place. The gym has fantastic old school equipment you cannot really find anywhere else. The atmosphere is exactly what you want if you are looking to train hard. I would say this is a gym for you the intermediate to advance lifter who is more serious about their training. The owner is very passionate about bodybuilding and and extremely down to earth. Great gym community. I am only here temporarily, I will definitely miss this gym.

Fantastic bodybuilding gym. Just bring plenty of water, a gallon or more and just a s serving of electrolytes (I'm a medical provider btw) so you're safe. But I'm grateful to use this during my vacation. Very fun gym and the trainer (or owner?) was pleasant and gave me some great forced reps in my workout.

Only giving it five stars because I can’t give more! Coastal Muscle is hands down one of the coolest and most unique gyms I’ve ever been to. Unlike the big commercial gyms, this place has a vibe like no other. The mix of classic and diverse equipment fits the atmosphere perfectly.

It’s also the first time I’ve worked out without headphones—and that’s because the music was that good. Everyone on staff was super friendly and more than happy to answer any questions I had. Oh, and they have a dog. 10/10.

This gym in Wilmington is like no other gym in the area. It has some great Body Masters equipment along with some rare pieces too. Although this gym is great for the true bodybuilder, others that just want to get in shape and be healthier will enjoy it too!! The owner has competited so he is very knowledgeable of all the equipment and can train you for competition or to improve your health. This is the gym everyone should be a member of. Check it out!
