Ugh. Where do I start? My daughter attended this gym for over a year and never made progress. My daughter has the potential to be taught, to learn and to make progress which made it frustrating that she never made progress. I had her in the recreational practices with the hope she would eventually move to teams. Many of the “coaches” used for the recreational practices have no gymnastics experience. Some days lessons were a joke. There’s lots of standing around, watching the instructor show a skill and more standing around because a child doesn’t know what or how to do a skills. The “coach” demonstrates a skill and expects the kids to do it, correct or incorrectly. They don’t provide direct guidance or teaching on how the child can individually correct or improve their skill.

Practices we’re an hour long… here’s an example of their schedule for girls recreational.

-start in line sitting next to mat
-finally start class with ~15 minutes stretching/warm ups
-1st water/potty break ~5 minutes (because stretching was so exhausting a break is immediately needed to allow the body time to “cool down”
-Beam or Bars (they say they alternate beams and bars every other week, but they don’t and they don’t practice both skills every week ) ~10 minutes
-2nd water/potty break ~5 minutes
-Floor exercises (splits, cartwheels, some rolling etc.) ~10 minutes
-3rd water/potty break ~5 minutes
-Finish with jumping on trampoline ~5-10 minutes

There are so many water/potty breaks for a 1 hour class. I’m all about staying hydrated but 3 water/potty breaks in an hour is just killing time.

It would be nice to see coaches provide more guidance especially early on when the children are learning skills that they will use as they advance and grow. Properly teaching them the skills early on is vital in ensuring they are performing a skill safely and correctly, this step is completely missed for beginners at this gym.

It would be nice to se the courses be structured a bit different where the students first learn skills and safety on the floor. Once a student has obtained the basic skills on the floor then they move to bars, again focusing on fundamentals skills and safety of the bars. Once bars are mastered then they go to the beam. And once a child has met all the basic fundamentals of all 3 skills individually then they move up to a class that combines all three.

Now the teams, we didn’t make it that far, so I can’t speak about the teams but they seemed to be a bit more structured, we really wanted to get there but lost hope and faith in the gym as there wasn’t guidance and structure in the beginning to get us there, with a child who has potential.

Lastly, they never could keep coaches. So a new coach would come in, they would seem lost and didn’t know what to do and for a few weeks the class would seem to be at a standstill. As things would pick up with the coach they would be rotated to another class or quit, and the class would yet again have another new coach. No consistency.

Sad, my daughter wants to do gymnastics so bad, she has the drive, desire and ability to progress but it just wasn’t happening here.

As with any business there are areas for improvement and I hope they can improve their classes for beginners. I would be curious to know how many students they loose early on, seems like a lot as my daughters class always had kids coming and going.

My (5yoa) son loves this gym and always has fun. I have had him in different sports and gymnastics is his favorite. I am impressed by his progress and the variety of skills offered. The coaches are helpful and attentive. Desk Staff are friendly and accommodate if make up classes are needed. The parent portal is easy to navigate.

It smells SO BAD... this place needs to invest in getting new gym mats, new flooring and carpeting. The equipment is older and the facility just needs renovation. My daughter got sick after attending for one session and she was only there an hour. The rollers class for ages 4-7 was a good class just wish the facility didn't smell so terrible like feet and old hot dog water. Please renovate I know you have the money to do so and if not host a fundraiser or something pleeease!

As of what my daughter went through yesterday at practice I'm rating it a 1 star. My daughter coach P decided to smell all the girls, and tell them that someone had on perfume, body wash, or hair products that was making her sick to her stomach. So she told my child and another little black girl it had to be one of them🤔. She even told them them tpye of smells she likes so if they wear something they can wear those smells. My daughter said she felt so uncomfortable and confused didn't even want to practice after that. I have reached out to Countryside and waiting on some to contact ASAP.. It's just so much and I need answers

My daughter has been coming here for five years now, and she loves it. She has had the opportunity to move through several different levels and compete.

If you're looking for a gym to bring your daughter or son to, Countryside is a great choice. They offer a variety of levels, teams, camps, and parents' night out opportunities.

This is our daughters (4yo) first experience in gymnastics and we started in Coach Amanda’s Tiny Tumblers class earlier this year 2021. She was not able to do any splits or any of the gymnastic moves when she began. By end of the year she was able to do all the splits and ready to move to the next level of class. Coach Amanda provided playful and creative ways to teach a toddler gymnastics that kept her attention and kept her engaged all the time. She learned how to do a proper cartwheel and continues to improve at every class. We absolutely recommend Coach Amanda for anyone looking for their first gymnastics experience and recommend Countryside Gymnastics as a place for a thriving gymnast.

High recommend this facility!!! This is NOT a tumbling class (with only mat-play). Your kids will actually learn gymnastics with all the equipment—balance beams, bouncy floors, etc. Coach Karima was extraordinary with my 4 year old! For my daughter’s first-ever gymnastics class she was struggling to learn the moves, but Karima was so kind, patient, & great at finding a way for it to makes sense for my child to learn.

We just had my son's third birthday at Countryside. The coaches were kind, patient, and full of energy! Could not have asked for a better party location. Thank you Countryside team for taking the stress out of birthday party planning.

My 8 year old has gone to gymnastics at countryside for about a year and a half. She loves her class and her teachers - they have a flexible schedule available for us parents. They handled the challenges of Covid -19 very well. I highly recommend Countryside Gymnastics if you or your child are interested in taking it up!

My son went to Countryside for 7yrs in elementary and junior high. The only reason he stopped going was he started doing wrestling for his school. I am now looking into sending my grandson to Countryside. When i asked my now 26 yrs old son if he wanted his son to go to Countryside he said absolutely. My son's wife also went there for cheerleader when she was in middle and high school. Thumbs up to Countryside.

The gym is great. My son has been there since he was seven, which was six years ago. He has autism so we needed to get him involved in a sport that would help him socially and help him gain self esteem and combat some of his social anxiety. His coach, who is a special needs teacher, Coach Shana, has helped him with every aspect of his life. He is more comfortable around adults and his peers. He is able to speak up. He has grown so much. My only complaint is that the bathrooms and some of the paint seems to be very old. It appears that maybe the owners do not care about the appearance of the gym. It is not only helping the community but it is a business that is meant to draw people in. The bathrooms seem very dirty and old. Alittle updating would be great.

I have been a member in some way of CSG since I was 10 years old. I was an "army brat" and when I moved to NC with my family my mom looked for gyms and enrolled me in a different gym in Fayetteville at first. I competed with that gym for one season and then she enrolled me at CSG. As a young child I didn't like change but after one practice with my new coaches and after we sat down with the owners I knew it was the right place for me. Everyone GENUINELY cared about little old me and I was able to recognize that at a very young age. I wasn't just business or a dollar sign to any one at CSG; my coaches and the owners saw a little girl who was very hungry and they wanted to help me achieve my goals. I went on to compete gymnastics in college for Southern CT State U, and after earning my masters degree in EXS PHYSIOLOGY from the University of Pittsburgh I started coaching full time. I travelled up and down the east coast looking for my coaching home..... And I ended up back at CSG with the family who helped me achieve my dreams. I'm the head coach at CSG now. Some people think I'm mean or maybe too intense but I hope in reading this review people will consider that I'm actually very passionate about what I do and The kids that I work with. I will always push our athletes and our business to be all it can be.... That's how I was brought up and striving for improvement and progress everyday is what CSG and its coaching staff instilled in me when I was a little girl. So don't believe any of the negative hype that you might hear.... Give us a chance, you won't be disappointed!!! #csgstrong

My daughter has been attending Countryside for the past 8 years. They are a competitive gym; we travel around the USA.The Staff that I've had an opportunity to deal with @ Countryside truely have a passion for gymnastics. They seek growth in all their athletes. Coach Kris has been coaching my daughter for the past few years. She is truely committed to the Call. Rain or Snow she wants to have practice! I remember it snowing one year, and she did not cancel practice. I said to myself "Doesn't she know North Carolinians CAN'T drive in the snow even if it's just a 1/4 inch. She has to be from up North. "(lol) She goes above and beyond to make the girls be all they can be in and out of the gym; physically, mentally, and even academically). She even offers tutoring if it's needed. C--S--G!!! #BESTGYMEVER

We just moved here and had a hard time deciding on a gym... I have to admit I was hesitant because of some of the reviews but I decided to see it for myself... My daughter was transferring from one competitive gym to another and when we arrived at Countryside we received nothing but a warm welcome from the owners, the coaches, and parents. The coaches here will push your child to do their best but are equally supportive. When we moved here we were looking for a new gym "family" and we found that here at Countryside!
