Was visiting a friend in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and looked online to find a course that wasn’t too expensive and Whose reviews appeared to be good. This Course had a 4.3 rating on Google So I decided to give it a try. I paid $45 for Green fees which included a cart. Based on the condition of the course, I don’t believe the fees should be more than $35. I will start it with the positives. The clubhouse was very nice and the guy behind the desk was very nice and informative. They’ve had a good variety of drinks as well. The pace of play was very good.The tee boxes and the fairways were full of weeds and Even if you were in the middle of the fairway, the lies were not good. The Cart paths were dismal. Much of the course did not have cart paths and what cart paths there were, it was either dirt or asphalt that had more ruts and cracks, then you can imagine. Although they had GPS on the golf carts, it only gave distances to the middle of the greens rather than where the flag actually was. The golf cart was equipped with a mechanism that stopped the golf cart if you got too close to areas that were off-limits. They were a couple times that I was actually on the so-called cart path that it was telling me I needed to put it in reverse and back up. Not sure why they have that feature since there is nothing to protect on that course other than possibly the greens. The greens were like putting on concrete and some of the pin locations were ridiculous. A missed three foot putt with the correct speed would go by the hole 10-15 feet. So based on what I paid and the conditions of the course, I would give it 2.8 out of 5 stars. If I only paid $35, I’d give it a 3.8 rating.

I believe the grounds keeper is trying to sabotage the owners. The fairways are wrecked. The tee boxes are chewed up and uneven. The greens could be great if they didn’t change hole placement all the time. It could be a great course. There’s no investment here…

While I couldn't drive the ball like I wanted, I managed an 84. Onto the review.

Tee Boxes 4/5 - Some tee boxes were worn or lopsided, but was pretty ok throughout.

Fairways 5/5 - No major issues, it just didn't seem as thick and that is likely due to the breed.

Greens 4/5 - They were punched within the past month and haven't fully healed, but pace and line were solid. About a 9.5 stimp. Undulations are kinda wild, so getting an idea of where to land the ball is important.

Bunkers 3.5/5 - Bunkers had varied sand depths, though I had no issues getting out

Layout 3.5/5 - Very simple layout, only a few holes bring hazards into play. Some elevation changes lead to blind shots, but the par 5s are gettable with good shots.

Amenities 3/5 - Range is there, but was closed today. There is a putting/chipping green but no practice bunker. I think they left the practice green for Las on the punching and sanding since it was really sandy, which led me to believe mistakenly the rest of the course would be. Lost a couple putts to speed because of it.

Overall, I'd play again and invite others. Once the greens fully heal it'll be that much better.

I'm going to be honest. I've played here a couple of times and it doesn't matter when or who I play with, I've never had a good experience. Greens are rock hard and tee boxes are trash always. Every time we come here the guys in the club house are always harassing my group. Today they told us they were going to shut off our carts if we didn't speed up. I'm sorry I'm not a pro but I did pay money to play and it is a public course. What do you guys expect from amateur golfers trying to get their friends interested in this expensive game to begin with. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson. I won't spend money at your course again. You guys could care less about the experience you are trying to convey. I would rather spend more money at Bayonett, my home course where all feels welcomed.

Beautiful course, great price, greens were soft and rolled perfectly... A few patchy spots but didn't affect my round. Not terribly long from the tips (6700) but doglegs were the defense for 4/5 holes. I had a great time, a must visit.

Course is overall pretty nice. The cart paths, however, need to be completely redone. Roots breaking up thru, causing incredibly bumping driving, especially when you have to use them. Good luck trying to take a drink while driving.

Myself and a Friend 1st time playing a 9 hole round of golf at this course and in general. A lot of experienced players and staff. Needed a getaway from work and found a 10am Tee Time. Felt discouraged as the approach from staff felt like they were rushing me and scolding me for not teeing at 10am on the dot. Said I'd be backfilled for another 3 hours if I wanted to play. Fortunately one of the staff brought us to the 10-18 hole route and said just have fun. Hit the ball and take your time and enjoy the game.
Honestly I get the dynamic, they probably got a long Queue but for someone just starting the game, the discussion between staff and new players could be improved. But in general I did have fun great course. Would recommend.

Horrible, cart paths are destroyed, horrible course management on tee times consistently bottlenecked behind people, you can only walk after 2pm and in what world can you walk 18 holes walking before sunset starting at 2. Do not recommend.

It was a beautiful day to play here and the host was very pleasant. The golf shop is well stocked and the greens and course were in excellent condition. This is a testing course with fast tricky greens with some elevated. Our golf fellowship plays here during the season and is always welcomed 😎👍🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️

What a shame. Great design and friendly staff. GPS carts, but... course is in poor shape. Lacking grass pretty much everywhere. Cart paths fit for a mountain goat. Horrible. A few snacks but no real grill to get a meal after a round.

My son played in a College Club Tournament here and lost his (expensive) headcover. We live about 3 hours away and the course was excellent to deal with in getting it returned. They were willing to ship it to me and then get payment afterwards. They were very responsive and just overall great. I really appreciate what they did.

Good first: great layout, exceptional greens. The grounds crew has created a gem. Now the bad: If the parking lot is full of golf carts turn around and go home. Had a 1:30 tee time and had to have carts in by 5:30. Shouldn’t be a problem for a two some. Finished 16 holes, but waited 10+ minutes on every hole. Was somewhat crowded, but mostly 1s and 2s. On 13 we learned the problem. Coming up 15, while 3 groups waited, was two groups of FIVE and this happens ALL THE TIME. I live at this course, so I see it regularly. poor management by the pro shop. Don’t tell people it’s going to be slow and let a bunch of 5somes out. To cap it all, they all played 18 together. 10 golfers on 18 at once. Put a ranger out there for God’s sake. Watched 3 groups quit today. Your management is terrible.

Beautiful course. Fairways and roughs are very well maintained. Greens are also very nice. Staff is friendly with a solid pro shop. Carts have gps. The scenery is nice, but part of the course is lined with houses, might be a problem for new golfers.

My in-laws from Germany flew in last week. It was my father in-laws dream to play a round of golf. We played Cyprus Lakes twice in the last week. The range is 5 minutes from my home. HE LOVED IT. Great experience. We warmed up on the driving range. Drank some beers and played 9 holes. Outstanding. He was impressed. What more could you ask for.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were 9 out 10. I think 16 was the only green with any trouble and that was very little.

Gps on golf carts.....always a plus. Carts are in good shape also. Range balls were a bit rough, but the range grass was in great shape.

Cart paths need some love bit would highly recommend playing here. $40 with a cart is a great price for this course.

I've played Cypress Lakes several times in the last 12 months. On the plus side, I enjoy the layout generally and the greens are impeccable. On the down side, the fairways and rough are inconsistent, ranging from ok to rocky/bare. But it is the price of $29 for walking that's the deal breaker. This is more than much nicer courses like Quail Ridge in Sanford or Chicora in Dunn, or even Kings Grant in Fayetteville. To be fair, the price is the same for riding and walking during the week, which is a good deal for riders, but we like to walk, so we're out of luck. Really weird that a course charges the same to walk and ride; been playing a long time and haven't seen that before.

First time playing this course last weekend with a group of three. The golf cart said we were 5 mins behind schedule and we had a employee follow my group of three for 3 holes to try and push us forward because they over booked tee times. We didn't see a group behind us until hole 13 and never had to let anyone play through. I will never willingly show up to this course again. Never had someone approach me the way this employee did. Really crushed my golf experience that day and would easily rate this the WORST golf experience of my life. Please don't waste your time here.

It was a cool experience, though it was pretty busy at 12:00 pm, but the cause of that was an 80 degree day in February. I was given permission to start on 10 and it was smooth sailing. Like the course. Has gotten a little pricy of late

The course is nice but the cart paths are not maintained whatsoever. There are almost no distance markers on the fairways. The tee boxes are fine but the markers are sometimes difficult to spot or the tee boxes are in awkward areas away from the cart path. I got lost on the back 9 looking for hole 15. The cart path was not visible and there were no directions to get to the next hole. A little extra maintenance in those areas and maybe a better map of the course/directional signs would have made a big difference in my rating of the course.

Great experience...from Robert to Miss Brenda this course and its staff are first rate. I was treated incredibly well. The course itself is among the best I've played in the area and the greens are by far the finest. Cypress lakes has become my go to course in the Sandhills of North Carolina.

Cypress Lakes is a great course and getting better. They replaced the front nine greens last summer and next summer (2018) they are going to replace the back nine greens. If you miss this course when you visit Fayetteville, Fort Bragg or Hope Mills NC you are missing out.

I was visiting my daughter for the week and played this course 4 straight days. I like to do that when traveling - play the same course several times rather than a new one every day. This was in March of 2015 and the conditions were very good. The course is typical of those in the area with plenty of pine lined fairways and a fair amount of water. I liked the course because it is out in the country and quite peaceful. It's a good challenge and several of the holes stick in your mind as memorable, The staff was very friendly and the price was more than fair. All things considered it was a nice golfing experience.

This golf course was in GREAT shape, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. ..I play over 50 rounds a year and on all types of course across the United States and the green at this course were the BEST greens I've played in two and a half years....they roll true and have good speed...the course gives you a great chance to shoot a good round (I shot 77 first time seeing the course)...if your in the Fayetteville, NC area and you don't play this course you have missed out...
