Love the school and classes but the parking here is ATROCIOUS! They have more classes added due to the building expansion BUT did nothing to address the parking. Half of the parents are forced to park in a little field that if you dont have a truck you will go over deep holes and NO LIGHTS so try not to hit any kids or people you can't see walking. This DESPERATELY needs to be fixed!

My family member encountered bullying from adults at this studio. The director is unprofessional & has obvious favorites. DTOJ is not good for a young persons self esteem. All the high ratings are suspicious as well.

Watching my sister grow at DTOJ over the past three years has been such a joy. Her confidence, technique, and love for dance have flourished, all thanks to the incredible, kind, and dedicated staff.

Ms. Katrina deserves a special mention, her amazing teaching style and gentle guidance have left a lasting impression. My sister has truly grown a soft spot for her, and it’s easy to see why.

My daughter danced her first season DTOJ this last year and we both had the time of our lives, so much so that I signed up for adult classes after being out of the studio for 17 years! The teachers are incredible and don't just teach their students the love of dance, but how to love one another and create a community. Their recital was top notch, so professional, and beautifully put together. I am so excited that we found DTOJ and I am looking forward to many years of being a part of the DTOJ family.

My daughter, now 13, has been here since she was 7, and they are absolutely wonderful! The staff and teachers are amazing!

We went through a tough time medically that put us in a difficult situation and I was unable to to even drive her to class for some time (our neighbor who also has a dancer was able to help at times 😊) and they were very understanding and accommodating to where I did not have to pull my child out of dance. That meant so much to us!

It's more than just a job for Mrs. Debra and her staff, it's a passion, and it definitely shows!

My daughter has never felt so comfortable and supported at a dance studio. The instructors at Dance Theater of Jacksonville are truly top tier they give 110% to every student and it shows. We transferred from another studio in hopes of finding a more challenging and disciplined environment, and not only did we find that, but we gained so much more. The growth, the encouragement, the community it’s everything we hoped for and more. Competitive dance at Dance Theatre of Jacksonville has truly shaped Averie into who she is today confident, disciplined, and humble. I love this studio! DTOJ has been hands down the best! Our daughter is going into her 4th year here and is always excited to show us all of her new skills and crush her goals. Her instructor, Heather, is her absolute favorite and she insists on having her specifically.

My daughter is actually doing summer classes soon and will start her 5th year there in the fall. We absolutely LOVE this dance studio! The teachers and staff are amazing. We moved to Jacksonville three years ago, and from day one, the studio leadership was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Moving and changing studios can be difficult for a young person, but DTOJ welcomed my dancer with open arms and quickly became her community during a period of rapid transition.

DTOJ has a large recreation offering, and my two younger dancers have enjoyed the weekly classes and recitals. The teachers are fun, organized and professional. A great experience for the recreational dancer. For the dancer looking to commit a bit more, the competition teams are what you are looking for.

The competition students are comprised of various levels, challenged appropriately with technique focused choreography appropriate for each group. They benefit from exposure to choreographers that are routinely brought in from outside of the area, enhancing their learning. They are afforded opportunities to travel as a team to not only compete, but to train at conventions with diverse focuses. Leadership puts a lot of attention and effort into quality and worth while opportunities for the dancers. This program prepares the dancer looking to take the next step.

Above all else, the dancers are genuinely kind to each other. There's remarkable talent at this studio, and many notable alumni dancing professionally, but THE standout aspect of this studio is the supportive and kind environment. This speaks volumes for the studio educators, and studio leadership.

Whether you’re looking for a baby ballet for your toddler or preprofessional training through an elite team, DTOJ is what you’re looking for. 10/10 recommend.

My daughter has danced at DTOJ for 2 years now, and we have all thoroughly enjoyed watching her learn and dance. She loves her teachers, and dance has been the perfect extracurricular activity for her. I have two daughters currently enrolled at Dance Theatre. My oldest has been a student since 2017, and my youngest since 2022. Both of my girls love the classes and instructors. I was honestly shocked when I saw anything less than 5 stars. We've been a part of this studio for 7 years and it has been an amazing experience. They will invest everything into these children and will treat you like family. In competitive dance, it's normal for this theatre to receive top marks. The instructors are incredibly talented. Ignore the review about gymnastics - they don't even teach gymnastics here. My daughter is in her 8th year at DTOJ & I cannot speak highly enough about our time here. The experiences and opportunities my daughter has been offered over the last few years is something we will always be grateful for. She has been blessed with teachers that love her and guide her.
