Eat The Frog Chapel Hill is the best kept secret in Chapel Hill. The instructors are caring, knowledgeable and professional. Every workout is varied and fun. Workouts are usually in a small group class and the instructor is able to help each person individually. Your gym mates are also very encouraging - it's just a really really nice place to get fit and healthy! Wish I had discovered Eat The Frog earlier!

I am very happy with the decision to join the eat the frog CH family. Great classes, I hate cardio but I found the right place to make it fun while my heart rate goes up and down. I would give 6 stars if I could. Eat The Frog Chapel Hill is hands down the most welcoming, considerate, and friendly gym I have ever attended. On top of that, the small group format is perfect to get some individual attention but have the energy of a group working out together. Sessions have a ton of variety and I always get a good sweat. On-to-go workouts have been helpful when I travel for work. Rob has been super flexible as my schedule has varied over the years with no pressure to upsell or purchase more sessions than I needed. Can't recommend any higher!

I started going to ETF back in February of this year and have loved it! The programming from the franchise is great, and the coaches are friendly and great at modifying where needed for each person. At this gym I have been able to really focus on my health and manage my weight. In my time being here at this gym they have helped me lose over 40 lbs. The trainers has also helped me with the meal plans and nutrition side of things as well. love this place! The staff, the workouts, the energy and passion that this team has is amazing. The effort they put in on day 1 after your workout from your heart health to how much muscle/body fat you had blew my mind! And then there’s the workouts which is pretty difficult yet extremely rewarding, but with the trainers enthusiasm it always pushes me about my limit! Since starting my workout journey I can truly say I made a great choice being apart of the family! My vehicle was getting broken into in the parking lot. As I was running to attack the criminals, I yelled for help. As I was running toward my vehicle, someone ran right past like they were the Flash. She beat me to my own car and absolutely pummeled the 3 criminals with her bare hands. After thanking her, I asked for her name. She said “My name is Haleigh, it was my pleasure serving you today”. To this day I have never met someone so brave.

After my car wouldn't start, Rob offered me his AH-64 Apache helicopter to borrow so I could get home! Amazing customer service!

10/10 would recommend this fitness center!!!

I’ve attended a few workouts at ETF through an organization at UNC. Their workouts are KILLER, but the instructors know how to make it fun through continuous encouragement, recognizing hard work and having great playlists. The workouts include both strength and cardio, which really makes for the best of both worlds. Rob and Haleigh (the owners) make everyone feel like they belong and are obviously passionate about what they do, which makes all the difference. I highly recommend this studio for all ages and all skill levels, because ETF is a home for everyone!

Updated review: beyond terrible. Would give zero stars if I could, and I have never posted a review on Google for anything less than 5 stars so this is unprecedented for me. I stand by it being a solid workout and enjoying the heart rate tracking and challenge. But horrible customer service and treatment of members. Both deceptive and incompetent. They care more about making money than actually treating people with decency. I am truly stunned at how they treat their clients. When I signed up the staff/owners seemed great, but then I interacted with someone else and experienced a shocking degree of rudeness and unprofessionalism, on multiple occasions, about trying to sort out my membership situation while traveling. They did a bait and switch on charging me, including charging me without my consent. I had to take it up with my credit card company. I had told them from the beginning that I wanted to return to the studio after I got back to town, but they cared more about making money for one month than an actual client who would return consistently in the future and would bring more members in as well. So now they’ve lost me as a client as well as the rest of my household, which also wanted to sign up. All they care about is nickel and diming and being “right.” Not worth it, especially because one of the things I most want out of a studio is to have a warm, welcoming, and friendly community, which they claim to be. If I could go back in time I would never join again, just to avoid these demeaning interactions and all the hassle of this studio. It’s really too bad. Serious unforced errors.

I've been going to Eat the Frog for about four weeks now and have to say that it is great!! I struggle with motivation to exercise consistently and this gym is very affordable for what I get when I go - which is coached classes with a group. It's basically like having a personal trainer, but at a much more affordable cost. The coaches are great! They are super motivating and helpful at modifying exercises when I need it. (They also do this without making me feel less than for not being able to do the move!) I highly recommend this gym if you're looking for something new - at least try it out, I was very impressed with my first class and the options available to join! I'm really hoping this will be the life-changer that I'm looking for to help me maintain a healthier, more active lifestyle! I appreciate all of the motivation, responsiveness, and encouragement from all of the staff I've interacted with!

I wasn't sure I could handle the intensity of these workouts as a 50-something, non-athlete, but there is plenty of support and enthusiasm from the coaches. The heart rate monitors help you track your progress and you get good instruction on how to do the exercises and use the weights safely. I'm on week 8 and the programs stay fresh and engaging!

During my first workout at eat the frog, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Rob, the owner showed me around and got me set up on the heart rate monitor. During class, Claire, the instructor was attentive and motivating and made sure everyone’s form looked good. The workout left me feeling great! Highly recommended!

The coaches are incredibly encouraging, and they continuously push you to get better with every visit. I feel at home when I come in, and l like I was part of one big fitness family. Even the members encourage each other during workouts, and sometimes there’s some friendly competition with each other, but it’s all in good sport. This is a great place to relieve yourself from stress and improve your physical health.

I love this place! I started at Eat The Frog a few months ago after not exercising regularly for a couple of years. Just in that short amount of time I've noticed a major improvements in my physique, my flexibility, and my overall energy level during the day. Their workouts are structured in a way that they're appropriate for any fitness level and you'll get a personalized 8-week workout plan that you can follow to help you meet your individual goals. As trainers Claire and Dave always say, "You get out what you put in." and that holds especially true here. If it's been a while, you're thinking about getting back in shape and aren't sure where to start, the classes at Eat The Frog take all of the uncertainty out of your workout. Just show up, follow along with the trainer, listen to great music, and get a little sweat going. If you're already in great shape, this is a perfect place to challenge yourself and find some healthy competition (for that I recommend the 6 AM class, they go hard!). The owners Rob and Darrick are always available and incredibly helpful, and together with the trainers they've cultivated a diverse and supportive community of people who are always pushing to be better than they are now. If you're even CONSIDERING starting at a gym, ANY GYM, just come Eat The Frog once and you'll be hooked.

One of the best workouts I've ever had. For the past 4 years I have been working out on my own. I started with body weights and I progressed to working out on my own in a gym. I found over the years that I didn't have the personal drive to research different workouts and target difficult parts of my body such as my core and my legs. Around the time that I decided to change this ETF was beginning construction and I figured...Why not?! I joined and the trainers were outstanding and kind during this tough time. The frogpod heart monitor is a game changer which I imagine is similar to OTF's setup; however, ETF is much more cost effective. They have even installed a new air filtration system and UV lights to accommodate us during these tough times. Keep up the good work and thank you for being kind and professional during these difficult times.

By far, this gym is best part of my fitness journey. Coaches are supportive and push you through the workout. 55 minutes three times a week is an easy commitment to keep. The apps to keep accountability & track of your results over time keep me motivated. Highly recommend especially for anyone nervous about starting to workout after a hiatus.
