My husband and I can't say enough about all aspects of our experience of training at FIT Carrboro. Lauren is fabulous! She is so knowledgeable, skillful, warm and funny. She tailors each of our sessions to where we are, and keeps us on task such that our sessions are chock full, all while having fun! The newly expanded space and equipment is icing on the cake!

I'm approaching one year of workouts with Kevin at FIT Carrboro and can't say enough about Kevin and the team there. The gym is very well-equipped, and Kevin is a genius at keeping workouts interesting and new while progressing you through strengthening different muscle groups. I remember reading a review before I started that you'll never do the same workout twice with him, and that's true. But I'm also seeing consistent gains and can tackle moves with greater strength and confidence. I also enjoy getting to see and interact with Gayle and Lauren. Lauren delivers an amazing foam rolling workshop, and both always greet you with a warm welcome. I'm excited for their upcoming facility expansion and so grateful that I made the investment in myself.

FIT Carrboro is amazing! I have been training with Lauren for almost two years now, and she has made a huge difference in my life. I never stuck with strength training before, but she met me where I was, and designed a program to help me get stronger. And, as my needs change, or I have an injury, she is constantly retooling our workouts to fit. Plus, she's always changing things up, so I don't get bored. Lauren is cheerful and funny and has SO much knowledge about body mechanics. I truly never thought I'd look forward to going to the gym, but going to FIT Carrboro is one of my favorite things. The atmosphere is respectful and positive and the trainers are all skilled and encouraging. I SO highly recommend this gym.

If you have a fitness goal, want to improve your overall health and do so in a really welcoming environment, FIT is your place. It is hard to target specific muscle groups by just doing cardio (I swim and run), so I needed something more personalized and coached for that. My neck and back have never felt better since training @ FIT with Kevin, and I have overall felt much healthier and stronger.

I've been training at FIT Carrboro for several months, under the care and guidance of Kevin Burnett. The gym is very clean with well-maintained equipment. I find the staff and vibe always friendly, welcoming, and supportive. Kevin is a serious, observant trainer with a deep base of knowledge and vast arsenal of exercises. Each session is varied, interesting, and challenging. I always feel safe, am never bored, and am thrilled with my progress. I've been working with Kevin at FIT for a little more than a year and I really enjoy our sessions. I'm shy and not very athletic so I wanted to find a gym that would make me feel comfortable. I also wanted someone who worked well with people who are just starting out! Kevin wipes down all the equipment I use, and the space is kept clean. The other trainers I've met (Gayle and Lauren) are also very friendly.

I’ve been working with Kevin for over a year and cannot recommend FIT enough. Kevin has helped me regain my strength and confidence in the gym, and he came up with unique workouts when I had two ankle injuries over the span of 6 months. I can confidently say that I’m stronger now than I have been in nearly 10 years due to my sessions with Kevin. Love the community at FIT and getting to know the co-owners and other regulars. It’s a small space but this adds to the charm and communal feeling - plus they have no lack of equipment.
TL;DR: FIT Carrboro rocks and I love working out there.

I have worked with Anna Martin for a few months at Fit Carrboro. She’s has been a perfect fit for me. She listens to how I am feeling and prepares workouts that are just right. The next day I know I have had a workout, but I am not so stiff or sore that I can’t move and do the things I need to do. The space is clean and well organized. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. A good place to get a good workout.

Every member of the FIT Carrboro team is very nice and supremely qualified to fitness train. My experiences with Anna are both fun and challenging, and I'm stronger and more stable than when I started last October. I appreciate her careful attention, and I never feel rushed or judged. Anna carefully explains the muscle groups we are working and expertly demonstrates the movements. She has also talked me through some eating plans. The equipment is always clean and works well. I have also benefited from the stretching and pain reduction specialty class Lauren conducted as well.

I've seen Lauren for around five years now and can't imagine life without her. I went in with ongoing back pain and recurrent other minor pains those of us in our 40s are prone to. She is so good at working with your goals and any aches and pains you have. She has a ton of anatomy knowledge and as a nurse I enjoy geeking out with her! I've gotten so much stronger and fitter. My body is buff now! I am back to swimming and running, even doing triathlons. Plus she's super funny and great to talk to. My sessions go by quickly. She even adjusted our work outs to fit my schedule and budget when I had to cut back while in nursing school. Lauren and FIT on Main are on an awesome gem in Carrboro.

I didn't think I could afford personal training, and I wasn't sure I could ever really do it well enough. Now both are possible in this gym and with Anna Martin. I take care of my elderly parents, have a busy full time job and family responsibilities. With COVID, all of it felt harder. I finally went ahead and put myself first -- I'm trying to avoid knee arthroscopy and my hope is that this will be the key. It's already helping. The pain is now manageable -- my hope is to get it down to a 2 or less. Anna is perfect for me and so encouraging. It's also FUN. Who knew? Don't hesitate. FIT will figure out the best person for you and figure out how you can make it work in your budget.

I have been working with Anna Martin for the past 5 months and it has made a huge difference for me. I had become a bit of a Covid Slug and her bi-weekly sessions have brought back the old flexibility and build back muscle strength. She has a great background in physical training and nutrition and tailors each session, shifting from weights to stretching and back. Great friendly place and easy to get there from work.

This studio is awesome! The trainers here are incredibly knowledgeable and personalize each session. I have been working out with Gayle for several years and she has single-handedly changed my view on fitness. I am a busy working mom, and Gayle always takes that into account. She is incredibly flexible with her schedule and provides a workout regimen that I can also do at home or when on vacation. I also love that this is a locally-owned business and Gayle lives in the community. She’s ensouraging, without being annoying. This is NOT a “flashy” fitness studio trying to take your money with no results. It’s so exciting to have a trainer her truly understands life-work integration.
