I took my child for a trial
preschool class. The instructor was very kind, the class content was very age appropriate. The equipment was VERY worn and a vacuum had not been used in the room in an extremely long time. It was extremely disappointing. Cobwebs were everywhere, it was just so clear that zero effort was given to keep the place clean. It wouldn't take much just to run a shop vac. We would go again if it wasn't for the cleanliness.

Edit: I greatly appreciate the manager contacting me via phone after reading this review. She extended her apologies for the state of the cleanliness. She agreed that steps needed to be taken to address the issues stated above. I do hope more attention will be given to hygiene and efforts to replace materials that are ripped and torn beyond repair. It's such a great concept for there are not many in the LKN area like that. I did appreciate that the children were busy the whole time and felt that alone was great!

We had my daughters 5th birthday at flying high. We selected the package that includes everything, we just showed up. It was so nice to have a stress free party. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the gym to ourselves. It was so nice for the parents to hang out while the kids had a blast! Thanks again, I'm sure it won't be our last!

I have two girls who started cheer at ATA LKN this year. We have been so please with the structure of the routines, the coaches, the attention to detail, and the program as a whole. We highly recommend ATA!

We’ve been a part of Flying High tumble classes and the ATA Cheer program since 2017. My children have gone from elementary school to high school in their tumble program. We’ve seen the all-star cheer program through its ups and downs. The growth and strength of the program this year is amazing! The name on the building doesn’t matter when you have quality coaches on staff.
I challenge anyone with competitive cheer goals to find a stronger tumbling curriculum in the lake norman area. They bring in award-winning choreographers and amazing music producers. The proof is on the walls all of the gym.

We have been attending the gym since January. We drive from Conover and plan to try out for their cheer team this season. I have been so pleased with the customer service and instruction given here. My daughter is 12 and has cheered for 6+ years. and she is already feeling at "home" at this location. I am so pleased with the progress she has already made in a short amount of time. The children have also been very sweet and nice with her! I recommend this place to anyone looking.

Best place ever! Highly recommend Rockstar Cheer & Flying High Academy. My daughter started when she was 5 years old and is now 10. It truly feels like a second home.

I went in to drop my god daughter off and get information about classes and prices. The few women that were in there stared at me like a ghost. I was confused, but also the only black person in there so instantly felt unwelcome. My god daughter gave her name and they just gave a rather rude response to this child not knowing how to check herself in. I wasn’t aware of what she was supposed to do either. Im not from the area and I’m not familiar with a lot here, but I’m not spending my money here. I’d go all the way to Charlotte if I had to. Because one thing for certain, my money will never be spent where I’m not welcome.

My daughter started in the toddler class and now has moved to the 3 year old class. She absolutely loves it! Miss Alicia is an amazing coach and is just as proud of her students as us parents are when they grow in their skill.

The owners are dedicated & amazing people! The facility is large with so much equipment. The instructors really want my children to learn while safety precautions & proper techniques are implemented. It's a great place for my children to learn tumbling or gymnastics while having fun!

We've been taking our young children here since it was in the old building. They had some growing pains in the beginning (2 years ago) but my current 4 & 2 year old love it. They do such a great job with the different age groups and we continue to go here. I highly recommend Flying High!

I am so disappointed to see these negative reviews! I, on the other hand, have had nothing less than the absolute best experience at FHA. My daughter is 6 and absolutely LOVES everything about FHA. She counts the days until her next gymnastics class. She's had three different coaches and has loved them all. I think Cory's hands-on nature and constant presence, participation and supervision is phenomenal. How many gyms do you go to where you see the owner working on the floor, day in and day out the way he does? All of the coaches have been tremendous role models for my daughter. She has learned and grown so much in the time she's been there! We plan to continue at FHA, so PLEASE keep up your outstanding services!!

I did gymnastics throughout my childhood and into to college and have lots of experience with gymnastics centers. This gym is an embarrassment. I called and enrolled my 3 year-old twins into an introductory class. The class went well and I told the instructor that we would be back at the next regularly scheduled class. He said absolutely. In the following weeks, I received emails regarding gym news, so I was obviously registered in their system. We showed up for class and my children were not on the roster- due to no fault of our own- and the instructor refused to take them or offer any viable solution. Do you know what it is like to explain to 3 year-olds that they don’t get to do gymnastics that day? The girls started sobbing, as I put their shoes on them and walked them out of the gym.

I know the gym is going through a move, and I know that must be difficult, but come on- don’t turn away children when it is YOUR oversight. I will never take them back to this gym. I advise parents looking for a place to start kids to find a better organized and more compassionate place.

My daughter was enrolled in a weekly class for gymnastics. I don't think she made it more than 6 weeks because she was bored. During those 6 weeks the instructor changed twice. Most of her time was spent occupying herself and playing with other kids with very little "instruction" time. The "waiting" area is a joke and during weekly classes the building is absolutely crammed to the gills with kids running all over the place. It seemed complete chaos. Maybe the experienced gymnasts get better attention and treatment...
