I’ve been attending Fonteneaux Boxing Academy on and off for several years now, and I just restarted this week—two sessions in, and I already feel amazing! The experience has been exactly what I needed to get back into my regular fitness routine. I've been working with Coach Tasha, and she is fantastic—so friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Her husband, Coach Font, is just as great, and both of them bring so much expertise and energy to each session.

This gym is not for the faint of heart! If you're coming here, be prepared to push yourself to your limits and challenge yourself every single time. That’s exactly what I needed to break through a fitness plateau and find the motivation I had been missing. If you're serious about getting fit and working hard, this is definitely the place to be.

Thank you, Coach Tasha—see you Monday! Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a real challenge and a supportive, expert team to help you reach your fitness goals!

It was terrible we went in just to see what it’s about and prices the owner/manager was super rude and we simply just wanted info and he felt the need to be sarcastic and ignore my friend, I asked about a free class so we could see what it’s about and he said “I don’t believe in free samples does ur job give free samples” and he kept using examples of random things to explain why that studio isn’t for us. I asked about 1-2 days a week and he said “when you start a new job do u go 1-2 days a week” he answered all my questions with sarcasm I asked him to stop and he kept going till I just had to leave. I don’t suggest it at all

Took my younger brother here and it’s literally HELL in there no AC no breaks no nothing coach only seems to work there for the money and doesn’t even know what he’s doing and is extremely disrespectful. Yelling at kids that and body shaming them and one being my bother is outrageous.

This place is great. Clean, safe, organized and they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to training the kids and adults. A great place to be. I'd recommend it to anyone who is taking the sport of boxing seriously.

Great instruction, great people, great investment. C-19 had my kids on crazy mode but them joining and coaches strict instruction got them acting right. They also have more experienced boxers working with them and that motivates them. I would highly recommend.

Fonteneaux Boxing Academy should get more then 5 Stars. When you speak of getting training, life lessons, motivation, and also that extra push needed for that extra push up FBA is the RIGHT PLACE to be. Coach Font, Coach T, and Coach Mon all exhibit a high level of professionalism and love for the sport of boxing. FBA provides a family atmosphere for all ages who want to learn the fundamentals of boxing and train hard. My daughter has been apart of FBA for sometime and in this time she has made several life changes all because of the inspiration and motivation she is given at FBA. Thanks to FBA my daughter has come out of her shell and is now blossoming into this beautiful young lady with a nice "right hook". Coach Font is Phenomenal coach and leader who never treats anyone differently because of gender or race and that is what I love most. They train as a TRUE TEAM! Coach T gives the Mama of the Ring touch. And Coach Mon is the coach who keeps everyone pumped up (even from the car). This Gym should really be the #1 Gym in North Carolina because they really EXCEED THE STANDARD!!!

My 11 year old daughter has been attending “Fonteneaux Boxing Academy” for the past 2 years, & my Husband & I love it. We chose to put her in Boxing, so that she could gain more confidence & learn to protect herself, if need be. Coach Font, his wife, & Coach M are all great. Coach Font is very honest & a “tell it like it is” person. He’s respectful, but doesn’t Candy coat his words. I like Coach, because he’s not only big on teaching the kids the craft of boxing, but he also teaches them the importance of being on time, being respectful, listening, integrity, & building confidence. He’s a Military Veteran, so he’s no nonsense. So, if your child can’t handle being corrected (when they’re not listening or do something wrong) or you don’t like your child being corrected, I suggest you find somewhere else to take your child. My daughter enjoys going to Boxing & really likes Coach Font & Coach M. She says they make her laugh. I’m super picky about who I allow my kid to be around & I don’t trust many people when it comes to her, but I trust Coach Font, his Wife, & Coach M. I don’t worry about child’s safety of anything, when she’s in their care/facility.

I trained at FBA until I PCS'd a while back. I'm in San Antonio now and let me tell you, I didn't know what I had back in Fayetteville. Coach Font is 100x more knowledgeable than any of the gyms I've been to here, which surprised me because I figured a bigger city would have plenty of good gyms, but that's not quite true. FBA has better prices, hours and no contract unlike any gym I can find here. Good luck getting 1 on 1 attention or mitt work at another gym, it doesn't come as easy. Good luck finding a gym that's open with the same hours, my gym here is only open 5 hrs a day. Coach Font reads people and knows exactly what you need, be it tough love or words of encouragement, he's a professional who's been training others his whole life, he knows what he's doing. Ignore these other guys, if you can't handle a coach simply asking you what you're here for, you probably don't have the intestinal fortitude for the sport anyways. I've been to gyms that are truly unfriendly and like the feed the new guys to their pros just to boost their confidence, FBA isn't that type of place. The work I've done at FBA shows, every gym I come to here, the coaches are surprised at the skill level and how sharp I am considering I've only trained on and off for a year or so with coach Font. They all think I've been doing it for much longer and I credit that to the constant mittwork and microadjustments Coach Font and Coach Mon instills in you. Thank you FBA for everything, I hope to train here again if I ever come back to Bragg.

I'm here to let prospective customers know what I experienced... but that's not to say that will be your experience I guess.

I was stationed at Fort Bragg, so I was looking for a nearby boxing gym to increase my cardio fitness and learn self-defense at the same time. I first arrived at the gym and noticed the doors were locked. The head coach opened/unlocked the door and began interrogating me as to why I wanted to learn to box. He was rude, abrasive, and disrespectful. Some may say "old-school", but I think it's plain unnecessary. After his disrespectful demeanor, I just chuckled to myself in my head and walked out and ignored his pressing questions.

Luckily, I found another boxing gym nearby that gave me what I needed... A place to increase my cardio and learn self-defense. At the time I was at Fort Bragg as a Special Forces student attending the SFQC. I have no need to prove how tough I am to this guy by answering unnecessary questions. He let me know immediately he was an ex-Green Beret with obvious bad customer service skills (SMH).

Love boxing here, everyone I’ve encountered are friendly and really encouraging. We work hard and the prices are very fair. Coach Font and Mont make plenty of jokes and expect the best.

Love this place! Amazing and positive atmosphere. Very family oriented and structure driven. Warm and friendly but also tough, serious when need be. Coach Font and Coach T really push you, to do your best. I'm so happy to have found this place, during my brief month visit, to NC. You'll get some of the best training and advice (life or otherwise) from Coach Font. He and Coach T really care about their students, and accept no less than the best from them.

I was looking for something different and a space for additional workout to my morning routine. After five sessions at FBA, I had to walk out because the coach/owner really needs to polish his manners. From the jump he would make derogatory comments and be disrespectful to clients.

paid for a month membership expecting to receive my money worths of $100 a month which is higher than normal. Started questioning the authenticity of the coach as many of the boxing work outs seemed ineffective from my knowledge of boxing. Upcharges on top of upcharges on top of upcharges.

Walk in to this gym, see the owner, put my hand out to shake his hand as a respectful gesture, owner immediately says “who are you? And why are you trying to shake my hand?” shocked, I maintained my composure told him who I was and explained to the “trainer” that I’m just looking to drop in to utilize the bags for my own and wasn’t looking for actual coach training as I already had one. Owner replies “we don’t do drop ins here nor open gym your either with our gym or your not.” I kindly refuse and proceed to check out the website and clearly stated on the website (as of this date) shows “$8.00 – Fee allows patron/non members the ability to gain access to the gym facility and equipment during open gym hours. This fee is not part of a monthly package, but paid each time facility is used during open gym.” Even more surprised to be lied too i proceeded further to call the gym and validate by the staff. A staff member kindly tells me “yes it’s $8.00 for open gym during open gym hours”

Usually I’m not the one to post negative reviews but as an active student to mixed martial arts who’s been to a number of fighting gyms I can tell you that this gym isn’t the environment that I would want to be in based off of the “trainer coach Font”
