I came to Forest District CrossFit in January 2025 after my previous gym closed its doors and I was struggling to maintain home workouts on my own. I knew I needed to start attending fitness classes again for my own physical and mental well-being. I tried a couple of gyms near me and quickly came to realize FDCF checked all the right boxes. The coaches are all excellent! They are knowledgeable, encouraging, focused and truly invested in your fitness journey. The classes are well structured from beginning to end. Expectations for the workout are set, the warm-up is purposeful, and skill work is incorporated. I love that even though I have been doing CrossFit for over six years I am consistently learning and improving as part of this wonderful, supportive gym community. If you are looking for an excellent strength and conditioning program, whether continuing your fitness journey or beginning it, whether young or old, I strongly recommend you reach out. You will not be disappointed.

Forest District CrossFit is very beginner friendly! All the fitness coaches are more than willing to help anyone with certain movements or exercises. The fitness classes are offered at variety of times throughout the day making it super convenient to catch a workout. Forest District plans the daily workouts with both cardio and strength/conditioning in mind which is the best of both worlds. Forest District CrossFit is the gym for me! Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Forest District CrossFit has been a much needed addition to my routine. I often struggled finding ways to improve my health through working out and find group fitness classes to be the best way for me. I couldn't have landed in a better gym (box) that is more supportive and encouraging to me through my journey. I'm 4 months in and I can't wait for the next 4 months. If you are looking for strength and conditioning in an encouraging and motivating atmosphere, this is it.

Ok y’all, I had never been in a gym and certainly had never done a formal workout with weights before, but jumping in feet first with Brent and the team at Forest District was the best decision I could’ve made.
I was nervous about being lost in the workouts or not being able to “keep up”, but the trainers do a wonderful job of breaking down every move piece by piece and offering an option for everyone no matter where you are in your fitness journey. It really feels like I have a personal trainer while still being in a group of friends. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s amazing.
The energy of the place is family oriented and extremely kind, with zero judgement. Seriously. I haven’t even been judged for my horrible dance moves and that’s saying something.
I cannot recommend this gym enough. If you’re even thinking about it, give Brent a call and stop by to say hi. I’m betting you’ll love it.

When I moved to Wake Forest area about a year ago I was looking for a gym near me where fitness classes were offered. I tried three different places and landed at Forest District Crossfit which has been a great fit for me. The class size is small enough to have individualized attention and the environment is welcoming to all fitness levels. Things that guided my decision in joining included proximity, attunement to the individual, and a trauma-informed space.
I am a mama to a toddler and this gym has provided me a great space to show up as my authentic self as I am working to recover from injuries, reclaim athleticism, reconnect with my now "mama" body, and redefine health. There has been so much permission given for me to both listen to my body and to be in process.
I love the way the gym values holistic health recognizing that people who walk in are often balancing roles and responsibilities within their life and that each person has a story.

If you are looking for small group fitness/crossfit facility, then I can’t recommend Forest District CF highly enough. The coaches are great at helping you adjust the workout to your skill level, but also in coaching you to become better at movements/lifts as well. The attention to detail in both programming and coaching is excellent. You will not be disappointed coming to Forest District CF!

I joined this gym because it was near where I lived at the time. I wasn’t a crossfit athlete— far from it, I hadn’t even gone to a regular commercial gym in years. After almost a year a half with the instructors of FDCF, my outlook on fitness and movement is totally different. My confidence in the gym and towards healthy movement have completely changed. The coaching at FDCF is attentive enough to win over any kind of gym-goer. Coaches are patient with new crossfitters, always include a good warm up to start class, always review every movement to ensure the whole class has good form, and they always offer scaled options to make sure everyone in class feels accomplished. Highly recommend this gym to anyone in any life stage who wants a fitness program geared towards longevity and a sense of accomplishment.

FDCF is the BEST gym in the area. Truly. If you’re looking for a gym that offers fitness classes that are tailored to everyone’s ability and fitness level, this is for you. The coaches take time each class to ensure proper form and mechanics, and offer a number of modifications as needed. This isn’t your typical “CrossFit” gym only geared towards highly competitive athletes. This is a gym for everyone across all age groups and fitness levels. I Love This Gym! I was looking for group fitness classes in Wake Forest that would get me motivated to get back in shape after having an baby and came across Forest District Crossfit. I knew a little about CrossFit but had never tried a class before. I am so glad that I did. The coaches are great and made me feel super comfortable from the start. Classes are always challenging but tailored to your personal fitness level. I tried a few other gyms in the area but since I’ve started here, I haven’t wanted to go anywhere else. If your contemplating trying CrossFit out, give Brent a call!

You've probably heard, "More than a Gym," before. But I can honestly say that Forest District CrossFit means it. Five months ago, I was totally new to CrossFit, and this box welcomed me in, knowing I was only going to be with them till the end of the year. I can't say enough positive things about the good folks and community at this box.
I feel great. I also enjoy hiking, particularly at elevation, and each season, I need to workup to distance and elevation hikes I like to do. But after 4 months of consistent CrossFit, I surprised myself by being able to accomplish a much longer and higher hike on my first outing than I would normally attempt. I attribute the advantage to consistent CrossFit with very good coaching.
Brent and Leah are amazing coaches and people. Each class consists of clear instruction of the WOD's movements, coaching for novices and experts, a targeted and intentional warmup, the workout, and cool down. They are very skilled at scaling the workout to your fitness level or if you have any injuries that would affect your mobility that day.
My experience was five stars. If I can do it in this fitness community striving to live a more fulfilled life, then I'm certain others can as well. Can't recommend them enough!!

This is the best gym I’ve been to yet! Excellent trainers and awesome members! Brent does an amazing job of warming us up, showing us the correct techniques and then making sure we are doing everything correctly during our work out! Definitely the strongest I have ever been also! Highly recommend!!

CrossFit was always something I wanted to do but was intimidated by. I am so grateful I found Brent and Forest District CrossFit. His coaching style is exactly what I needed to gain the confidence to try it out. His queues when I need to correct a movement help me adjust and execute the movements properly. I’ve never felt belittled when doing something incorrectly and because of his coaching, I always leave with more confidence in my abilities. Can’t recommend enough!

The best technical coach I've ever worked with. Brent has coached me through a number of older sports injuries. I'm stronger and fitter now than 5 years ago. I dropped in for the 9:00 am class on my from the RDU airport. The owner was very knowledgeable and walked us through a warm-up and took time to talk through the workout movements and purpose of the workout. If you like HIIT, CrossFit, functional fitness, etc. then definitely check this place out!
