I love the gym.. I donβt love that thereβs no a/c. Itβs been over a month in the middle of summer. They place a fan in front of the thermostat and it STILL reads 84 degrees. They sent a message saying there would be air 7/20. That came and went and no follow up, instead signs about customer appreciation. Looks like the customers want air.

This gym is entirely too hot please turn on the AC. I hear people mention the problem daily in the locker room. I walk into the gym in the early morning and get a rush of hot air as soon as I walk in. Itβs unsettling sweating during warm up. I went and looked at the thermostat and it stated 81Β° F In the main room. Itβs a great gym with great equipment and people, but itβs uncomfortable to workout in.

Wish I can give it no star . Letβs start by saying they tricked me into a contracted . I was clear I wanted only a year but for some reason Iβm under a three year contract. Two they do not answer my phone calls nor voicemails . Three they make you pay way more than my actual payments. For instance they charge me $25 today and then I owe $30 in the next couple days . This gym only cares about money and is unjust . I did not sign for a three year contract employees are unhonest people.

The temperature of the gym is kept on 75 which I personally find it to warm to work out in. And today I found it to be dirty ..water bottles all over the floor. On a positive note the equipment is decent and staff is friendly.

I like the gym overall. It has everything you could need to get in shape. The equipment is good quality and they usually keep it on working order.
I do not understand why both preacher benches was moved out of the room with the dumbbells however. This makes no sense. Most of us like to use dumbbells on the preacher bench. I really wish that at least one of the preacher benches could be moved back to the right area.
Also, itβs January. No one has taken the initiative to change the clocks from daylight savings time.
I look up at the clock all the time and for a split second think that I am running late.

I moved out of state from NC to California and can't get someone to cancel my membership as I'm no longer near a golds gym and have not been for 5 months. I'll be getting all my money back from this gym and put a freeze on payment. This is insane on how they use a 3rd party vendor to cancel memberships and you can't get ahold of them. I've tried 5 times daily , then they had the nerve to say , "oh that will be 50$ to cancel when you call them it's in your contract". Ya your not only will you not get the 50$, but looks like you also have several other complaints on the same issue from other consumers .

Looks like someone else is also have a similar issue. I have made multiple attempts to contact the gym. I have gotten no real answer on canceling a membership. They pawn you off on a secondary company that is impossible to get in touch with. Nearly 3 months of charges and no real answers or conclusion to get a cancelation of membership handled. It's honestly a joke at this point how difficult they make it to just cancel a membership. Its obvious they want to make it difficult. There is absolutely no reason it should be this take this long or be this much of a hassle. They are simply a for profit company that actually doesn't care to help you and handle concerns or it wouldn't cause this much frustration. There are numerous family owned gyms in the area worth giving your money to. Support them. For me to get to a point to leave a review like this is such a bummer but how difficult and the money that is still being charged I had to say something. This is a golds gym, management, and customer service issue. They need to take accountability for that and stop pretending that have things in place that avoid these issues.

DO NOT USE THEM!!!! This company is a complete scam. I called to find out what I needed to cancel my membership on two separate occasions. Their front desk employees said I needed to speak to a specific manager but they were unavailable so to please call back. I got charged for another month. So immediately called again. I was then referred to some secondary company that stated I needed to give 30 day notice of cancellation. Since I finally got ahold of someone who could tell me how to cancel one day after my bank was charged, I will be charged for yet another month. With my membership ending one day after being charged.

I just joined this gym because fitness connection was not doing any justice. This staff is beyond friendly and helpful! Iβve never felt so welcomed in a gym before. Goldβs Gym (Concord/Copperfield location) required my husband to add our 13-year old to his gym membership when he signed him up for personal training sessions (which he pre-paid in full), pre-COVID. Goldβs, like most businesses, closed temporarily so we were unable to use any of the sessions and in the interim, we moved. My husband decided to cancel his membership since we moved. Not only did he have to call, then email and wait for a call back, but upon speaking with Kelli, Director of Customer Service, he was informed that he could cancel his membership, but our now 14-year old sonβs membership could not be cancelled because itβs a 2-year contract and we did not move at least 25 miles away! In my opinion, he shouldnβt have been required to enter into a membership just to participate in personal training, offered at the gym, and charged and paid separately. We paid to get out of the contract. My advice, choose a place where you can avoid contracts, read AND question the fine print, and enjoy the great outdoors and home workouts if you can as we all try our best efforts to stay safe!

And to make it worse he wears headphones so he can't tell when women have come in. The carolina Golds Gym franchise definitely doesn't give this location the respect it gives the others. The cancelation for this gym is crazy. I have gone to gold's for several years at different locations. The one in Harrisburg under a different franchise is amazing and work well with you. This gold gym ... You can't cancel at the gym or online l. You have to contact a third party to cancel. At that point y'all are just trying to make it as difficult as possible. Again love gold's and currently have a membership with the high point location. If your thinking of joining this one or any other location owned by the same owner. I strongly recommend if you are in this area go to the Harrisburg location. Do not go this this gym.

Gold's of Concord is a great place to workout. Within the last 6 months they've renovated the entire interior as well as upgrading more than half of their equipment to brand new. With membership here you can also workout at the Golds in Harrisburg which is perfect for me to where I can workout at whichever gym is closest to my job site for that day

This gym has been in the dumps for a while. However, I have say that recently with the new hires and Cliff coming back as management, the gym has really turned around. The new equipment is being kept in really good condition and repairs are fast. Cleanliness has risen as well. The front desk staff and sales are very polite and are on the same page. Emily Shepard has really helped out in recovering lost clients, Emily has ensured that complaints and concerns are addressed quickly and a resolution is found. I look forward to my workouts there.

I only have 2 gripes, the Olympic lift station is way too small, and why are they waiting until 10am to open on sundays? For 35$ per month I shouldnt have to wait until 10am to workout. I'm having the same issue as Michael. I was a member with club fitness. I was grandfathered in with gold's when they bought club fitness out. The facility was less than nice but okay for the $10 I paid a month.
I moved an hour away and tried to cancel via phone. The person told me that I'd have to speak with the manager. The manager told me I had to cancel in person. So, I drove two hours (construction traffic) to cancel my $10 membership to be given an email address to then cancel it. No manager would speak to me and nobody would give me the owner/ regional managers contact info. After I emailed them I got a auto reply message stating that I couldn't cancel my $10 membership via email. I had to cancel in person or via stamped letter with a hand written note that had all of my updated information on it. I got a new card from my bank (because mine had been compromised) and they're still charging me $10 a month for a membership I haven't used in nearly a year.
Someone please help!! I never had an issue with club fitness. I even spoke with a corporate store manager and he said that I could cancel a corporate member any time via email or in person.

The manager there by the name of Sam closed my account because I moved out of state, the owner of the gym decides that she does not like that and charges my account anyway. Regardless of the paperwork that I received stating that my account was closed with a zero balance and I owed them nothing! They never call you back and they definitely run a dishonest business!!!

This gym is straight trash. I joined her november 2015 based off of my experience at the harrisburg location. This gym promised they would be remodled and running like their other locations. The lady also asked to sign me up for 2 years and i declined, well they did it anyway. This gym hasnt been remodled STILL aside from very minor things, managers never work and apparently they are the only ones who can do anything. I am extremely disappointed with this Gold's gym location. At sign-up, many of the fees were not discussed with me until I was basically signing the contract. I spent about $100 more than I expected to that day. Also at sign-up, renovations were promised to start within a month, and 6 months later, I have seen no changes. A lot of the machines are broken somehow; many of the bikes have no pedal straps or the seat cannot be adjusted, treadmills are wobbly and there is actually a weird moldy substance in one of the treadmills cup holders. I am paying for a top-of-the-line gym, and have not received it. I started going to the Harrisburg location, which is a completely different story, but it is an additional 30 min drive from my house (which defeats the purpose). Now, 6 months after the start of my contract, I could not feel more trapped or disappointed. I do not recommend.

Gyms is great. Unimpressed with staff members and the hours are not ideal. Staff is very un-informed and does not care much about details. Will tell you anything to get you off the phone or to sign up for a service. 5/23/2016 I do not recommend trusting the staff. As with Don, the previous reviewer, they have promised updates and changes for months and only a seat cover has been replaced.

The lady at front desk is great and friendly at 5am, but the gym is not what promised when gold took over. They went up on my rate saying it was because it was going to be a better gym with lots of up grades to building and equipment. Nothing has Ben done and the equipment is broke and takes forever to get repaired. I do not recommend this gym and of changes are not done some I will stop my contract and go to platform gym.

Great staff! This gym is very open with more than enough equipment and free weights without feeling cramped and crowded.
I've been a member here at this facility through different ownerships since it opened - the current group is, by far, the best staff that's been here.

been there for 4 years now started with club fitness signed a deal with stan the manager there that paid for first 2 years at $29 a month for me and my wife and then next three years were free. well when gold bought them they didn't honor it. I September last year when gold moved in they said a bunch of big changes and haven't done anything. it doesn't effect me I am mainly there for weights so I don't need a fitness center just a gym. then my wife only does cardio and when they took the tv out of the loop, when it was time for he to renew she said not till those are fixed. I don't mind the gym the way it is, but don't make promised you don't keep.

Would rate higher just because staff is great but the equipment is old and member abusing equipment. Also promises of renovations then one thing done (cameras) then nothing for weeks and paying higher price for same gym and same equipment. Staff is amazing but deserve raise or something because many great employees leave because they cant support themselves with the pay they recieve.

Old equipment, smelly locker rooms, terrible customer service. It's like they don't even care since they're getting bought out by Gold's and they're raising the rates to $50+ month with a contract. I can't get my membership cancelled unless I MAIL A CERTIFIED LETTER to some random place in UTAH! SCAM!

This fitness center's billing department is operated under National Fitness.... they are nothing but con artists. They will tell there is nothing they can do and will send you jumping through hoops to get any billing related issues worked out. Please do not be their next financial victim.

Me and my wife have been signed up for about a month now and we love it. The people are nice. People that complain about contracts thats your own fault for not reading the print and just signing away. Its hard to find a place as nice as this that has classes to attend, great equipment, bathrooms in great shape, and a really good theater room as well. What more can you ask for.
