I had a great experience with Jenna at GOLFTEC Cary NC. I traveled all the way from Lancaster Pa after my wife was fitted by Jenna in May. My wife was so impressed with Jenna’s process and it definitely translated to the course so I made plans to have a fitting with Jenna and take in a little NC golf! To start, Jenna discussed my current clubs and possible clubs I was looking at before I even arrived. When we got started with the fitting she emphasized that I didn’t have to hit a perfect shot every time just relax and let my swing happen and she would evaluate from there. All I can say is, that is exactly what she did!! I tried many iron combo’s even ones I thought would be my favorite but in the end the very first one she pulled was perfect for me! After viewing many YouTube videos swaying what I thought would be good for me, Jenna took all the info and fit me into clubs that weren’t even on my radar! I couldn’t be happier with all my clubs from driver down to wedges. She checked all the boxes in what I was looking for in a fitting and would highly recommend Jenna to anyone looking to improve their game by being fit into clubs that work for them!!
Thanks again Jenna hope to get back
there soon!!

I’ve been to quite a few golf instructors and they all had bad instruction habits and wrong instruction! At Golf Tec it’s straight forward and there techniques to get your corrected to hit great shots all the time is excellent! My instructor Matt Salmon is great! Tip for everyone you must put in the work to get better and it will take quite a few lessons if your below average amateur to get your swing corrected!

I really wish I could recommend Golftec but I can’t. It seems like a good idea and the equipment they have is pretty cool. I never had a hard time getting practice time so that was a plus. The main issue I have with them is with their business model, which is to upsell their packages. They are a business so I'm ok with that, but my experience was that they talk a good game about improvement but really don't care if you get any better - at least until the next promotion comes up. I had an experience where things weren't working out with my instructor and it became a big headache to request changes. The basic response from my instructor was that he was a great teacher so the problem was me.. blah, blah, blah. OK, if you say so - but I thought I was paying to improve, not the pleasure of instruction. Asked the manager to contact me, but no response. Don’t buy their claims that the average person reduces their score by 7 strokes – they really don’t measure any of that so they have no clue about this. In my case I just walked away from a package because there was no point. It was a waste of money but I decided I didn’t need to waste my time. Other reviews mention specific instructors. That may be the key. Hope your experience is better.

I took lessons at GolfTec at the beginning of 2024 with the goal of shooting under 100. I didn't get out to the course as often as I had hoped this year, and stopped the lessons in April.

At the time I felt I hadn't learned as much as I had hoped from the lessons and that I wasted my time and money to a degree.

I've played about 10 rounds this year and this most recent round I broke 100 for the first time in years and shot a 95! I could see and feel the lessons working on the course!

Thank you for your help Matt.

I went to GOLFTEC for around 5 years and never had any issues. I loved it and learned a lot. The problem is that they will fail to tell you about lessons expiring until they are gone and you are not able to use them anymore. I always bought the biggest lesson package they had (which is far from cheap!) and was always told when my package was coming up for renewal or my lesson credits were getting low. This last time however I was called and told that my lessons were expired and had to buy more to keep going. I had around eleven 30 minute lessons left. I think there needs to be better communication and some sort of reminder sent out to students so they don't end up with over $500 worth of lessons that can't be used, like I did.

I went to golftec excited and ready to get coaching on my swing to help improve my game. I am a 18-20 handicap so still new to the game, but played enough that I felt ready to spend money on lessons. I will not be coming back. The instructor was more focused on showing me what a perfect tour player swing looks like rather than fixing my own. I understand it takes more time than one lesson to improve your overall game, but I didn’t feel any excitement from my coach that he was happy to help. It sounded like he was reading a script for the 25 minutes I sat through the video comparisons. For the price of $150, I expected more time tweaking my swing.

I have been taking lessons with Coach Cayce Herring for the last few months and he has completely changed my game for the better. He was able to slowly make minor changes to my swing that led to drastic improvements over time. I have gone from shooting low 90s to mid 80s in just a few months.
I would highly recommend any level of golfer to take lessons at Golftec.

I’ve been working with Coach Cayce at Golftec Cary for about 6 months, and my swing has gotten miles better in that time. Golf is a difficult sport to practice for most people who don’t have access to a simulator or other fancy training aids. Golftec offers fair priced lessons with tools to enable a new perspective on the golf swing. Coach Cayce always clearly communicated to me what I needed to work on and explained why it would help.

When I first came in I would typically have rounds in the high 90s & often low 100s, but now I’m consistently in the low 90s. My miss was a slice on driver and hard fades with shorter clubs (like most golfers). Cayce started reworking my basics (grip, setup, tempo) and as I improved we worked on more advanced techniques (club path, hand path, face control, low point, etc). All of the cameras and practice facilities helped me visualize my progress between lessons, which was really important. One 30 min lesson per week with no reps between won’t make you better no matter the coach.

Enrolling in a lesson plan at Golftec Cary will help you improve your golf game, especially if you’re willing to put in the reps outside of lessons.

I've used Golftec 2 different times and both have been super helpful. I had Marshall at this location and he helped out my game a lot. The only issue is that it seems like they have too many signed up for the amount of staff/bays at the location. It can be hard to find lesson times and practice times due to this issue which can cause problems with getting a routine.

I've been working with a pro at GOLFTEC for a few months now as a true beginner. Overall, the video technology and connecting with my pro has truly helped my game advance. Within the lesson package I ordered I also get plenty of practice bay time which allows me to practice regardless of the weather. Highly recommend GOLFTEC for any beginner...couldn't imagine starting off any other way.

I went to three different golf teachers for help with my gamebefore going to Golftec in Cary. No one has been as effective and helped me except Zac Ellis at Golftec. Zac is extremely knowledgeable and the Golftec technology so helpful in seeing what you need to do. Zac has easily added 30+ yards to my drives, and has me swinging so much better. Highly effective!!

5 STARS for Mike Saline (Golf Coach) at this location. Mike using all the Golf Tec tools has analyzed and improved my swing dramatically. Mike has tons of experience as a golf instructor and club fitter. His personality and teaching techniques make these lessons very enjoyable. As a senior golfer (duffer) he has improved my game tremendously. If you’re considering improving your game, work with Mike for great results!

If you are trying to fix your swing, Coach Dylan Burger is king! After years of saying "maybe next year" to investing in lessons to improve my game, I finally decided to go for it at GOLFTEC Cary. My expectations were blown away with the results that were achieved by working with Dylan. Dylan makes every lesson fun and easy to apply. He has a variety of drills that he can pull from for any swing improvement and doesn't stop until he finds a drill that connects with you. I was a mess, you could call me Darth Fader, always coming over the top and slicing everything and getting no distance. Through his lessons, he was able to give me tools that I could instantly apply effortlessly and my game has been far better for it. I highly recommend getting lessons with Dylan Burger at GOLFTEC Cary.

Michael Saline is a fantastic instructor who knows how to help not only visualize how a swing needs to be, but also get the feel. Michael has great patience and knows his stuff. My handicap has started dropping, I have way more confidence with my irons than I did 2 months ago, which was my ultimate goal. Thanks to Michael and Golftec for doing great things!

I was introduced to Golftec at a clinic. I was attracted due to the cost and a good experience with Zach Campbell. We called and got an intro assessment and decided to purchase a package. We were impressed with the Cary facilities and assessment. Zach was great again and honestly the cost was less than other places we could get lessons. We have now been students over a year and gotten to know all the coaches. All great and personable. They are invested in your improvement and listen and work with you. They do playing lessons and there are even go play with your coach outings. I have moved from a 100s golfer to consistently in the low 80s. It takes time but my swing is definitely better because of Zach's coaching and Golftec. The facilities have been upgraded in the past year. The video and bay systems are top notch and easy to use and understand. This is for folks of all levels. Beginners to very skilled/scratch golfers. I've had a great time with Zach and I personally recommend him strongly but also recommend all the staff. Zach is super personable and extremely knowledgeable. He can get you on the right path to better golf.

I met Zach Campbell last summer after a long absence from golf and as a result, I had zero confidence in my irons. During the first lesson, I learned what my opportunities for improvement were. I also learned that Zach is a very effective communicator. He can translate complex moves into simple thoughts and repetitive motions. I had a very weak grip, which led to a multitude of issues with making solid contact. Zach strengthened my grip. He also adjusted my takeaway and used video to prove I could make a near full turn away from the ball. This led to a better swing path and, along with more solid contact, I am 7 strokes better than last summer on average. All I really care about is being competitive with my friends, and I’m now beating most of them!

I have been taking lessons with Zach Campbell for about 10 months….I am an elderly guy and have watched by handicap sadly increase in recent years. It was time to upgrade my swing as for 30 years I have had a persistent slice. Zach has worked with my limitations and definitely has kept me in the fairway. Basically, with GolfTec’s superb technology I have a better appreciation of the fundamentals. Zach has improved my overall course experience from driving to putting. I am much more consistent around the greens. Zach has a relaxed demeanor and is a superb instructor. Instead of investing in that new driver or set of iron I suggest you give GolfTec a chance to improve your playing and enjoyment of golf.

I played golf for years without having without a lesson plan and was very inconsistent. I never understood why I was playing well when that infrequently occurred or why things went wrong when they often did, which was very frustrating.

Finally, I started a lesson program at GOLFTEC in Cary with coach Zach Campbell who was recommended to me by a golfing friend who with Zach’s help took his own game to consistent rounds in the upper 70’s. Based on my experience I highly recommend to anyone starting golf or, who like me plays inconsistently, that you take lessons from a professional teacher. The GOLFTEC program is a proven method and it is working for me. I also personally recommend Zach as a coach.

Most of what I previously thought were the keys to a good golf swing were wrong, very wrong. The proper keys are actually simpler than I realized, but for me that didn’t mean a few sessions and you are good to go. For me it has taken a series of lessons and a bit of commitment to unlearn the bad habits and build a proper foundation. However, t’s not an unreasonable amount of time out of my weekly schedule and for the first time I actually enjoy practice time because (1) I actually know what I’m trying to do, and (2) It’s working.

I’ve noted some people posted negative reviews regarding the “GOLFTEC business model” over-emphasizing selling lesson plans. Of course they sell lesson plans, that’s how people learn to play golf correctly and they DISCOUNT the lesson plans if you commit to a package, a common business practice. So if you are starting, I’d recommend scheduling an evaluation session as I did and then decide what you need. You don’t have to commit to a contract day one, but realistically you should expect like most people you will need a series of lessons. You are making a commitment to yourself to put in the work to improve, which is more important than the money commitment. I’ve found it to be rewarding; hope you experience the same.

GOLFTEC Cary has to be the crown prince of GOLFTECs. If they can improve my game, they can make pigs fly. And by “they”, I mean my coach, Dylan Burger. I’ve had “instructors” in the past but none like this. Generally speaking, he gives me a single move or feel to work on each week as not to overwhelm. After almost a year, I have noticed that each lesson builds on the last one and now I find myself making on-the-fly corrections during a round because I know exactly what is going wrong. For a quick anecdote, one thing that really impressed me recently was when I walked in to my lesson a few weeks ago and Dylan mentioned a correction to my right elbow (somewhat unrelated to what we were focused on that day). He noticed this apparently when he was going back and watching old videos of my swing ON HIS DAY OFF. This coach cares about his students goals and it is very apparent through his actions! Dylan as a coach has reinvigorated my joy in golf. Now I’ve got to run, all this talk is making me want to go practice!

Like Bob, I wish I could recommend these guys but can’t. I too went in with injuries to my lower back and right leg/hip and learned how badly my rotation and over-the-top swing had digressed due to those injuries and time away from the game. I learned the reason why I couldn’t even make good contact with longer clubs due to hip rotation and the fact that I wasn’t making a complete turn, mostly. So, that was helpful.

I used to be able to shoot low scores pre-injury (averaged 39’s on 9 holes at my home course), and have had some awesome lessons in the past to identify swing issues and immediately correct them with simple, easy to reproduce changes without video (Shout out to Toby Mullins in Lexington KY, a “The Golfing Machine” master instructor).

My major issue with Golftec is that their first priority is to make money. I called asking for help to make better contact. What I get was a teaser lesson with no real intention of helping me immediately. $832 and ten lessons later I wasn’t swinging any better. If I can’t reproduce it easily on the range/course without video, it’s not much use. I’m never gonna be a pro-level golfer with injuries and at my age. I just need a reproducible swing that works for my particular situation. Every time I went in for a lesson, it’s “what ya got?” and more tweaking with something different almost every time. That’s great for their business model but not so great for my swing or my wallet.

For me, what it comes down to is comfort with the teacher, inside or out, video or old school. I wish there was a way to talk with some of the guys or know their background before being assigned a coach. My initial coach was more like a cardboard fan cut out at a basketball game. The instruction I have gotten most recently from Brinson has literally been revolutionary. It has helped me understand that there are different ways to get the club head back to the ball for different people based on your physical limitations. I have had major left wrist and right knee surgery so it can be a challenge to feel it correctly but I am creating more compression and getting more distance than ever. I can talk to Brinson and question why we are doing something and he explains it. If I don't get it, we go over it more than once. The center is beautiful. The upgrades are top notch. Lighting, cameras, bays, A+++. So why 4/5 stars? Lessons need to be booked weeks in advance during peak seasons. I realize commercial leasing space in this affluent area isn't cheap, neither are these packages. Despite the recent renovations they could use more bays and more teachers. I suspect some of these guys are working sun up to sun down right now. Lets just say I don't live "near" the center. I have not suffered the injustice of having to work from home in a dress shirt and boxers, being careful not to stand up at the wrong time in the wrong meeting. I spent stimulus and unemployment money to do this when my entire industry was wiped out by Covid rather than go insane. If you buy a second package it should be cheaper than the first one b/c you are showing commitment to improvement. And of course, much of this is on corporate and not at all a reflection of the guys working hard to help improve our games. So if I could do a 4 for corporate and a 6 for Brinson and his personal level of instruction -- that would be actual.

If I could give it less than one star I would, the fitting was a complete joke. They will tell you one thing and do the complete opposite. The instructors at Golftec Cary know and understand the dynamics of all types of swings. If you're willing to put in the required work to improve, they can definitely help. Although they can give you a quick fix if you need it, the focus is more on long term improvement. The technology lets you see the actual problems in your swing as they describe it rather than relying on your own feel which can change from day to day. It's been over a year since Golftec put me into a funk that took me 6 months to get out of. I'm 6'3" and the instructors tried to flatten my swing like I was 5'6" which worsened an existing back problem and made almost impossible to get back to the ball. I continue for a dozen lessons hoping they knew what they were doing, but to no avail. After 3 more months of work (with a different instructor) I got my swing back but it was a lot of work.

My problem with Golftec is that the premise is to teach you ONE golf swing and take away anything that is unique about you. It's all about working on the golfswing and no short game or how to get the ball in the hole.

Golf should be about how to shoot lower scores which leads to more fun, not how to make your golf swing look like their model.

I just had my first ever golf lesson with Martin Lucas, and I really enjoyed it. I thought that he was very patient with me and he also provided lots of practical tips and praise, too. I especially enjoyed that everything was being filmed, so you can go back and see what you did right (or wrong), and you can see how much you improved in just that one lesson. Since I am so new, we basically just worked on my grip, stance, and swing. I personally, being brand new to golf, was hitting the ball at about 17 yards when I took my first swing and by the end of the lesson, I was hitting them about 80 yards. I followed that up with a trip to the driving range and was able to hit a few balls over 100 yards, so I would say that is a great improvement from where I began a couple of days ago. I also like that you can review your lesson and "homework" on an app too. Also, I love that this facility is indoors, so you can feel free to take lessons or practice any time. My boyfriend is an avid golfer who has taken many lessons, and he also thought that the beginners lesson was very comprehensive and well done. I highly recommend this place!

I started with GolfTEC 3 years ago with not a whole lot of golfing experience. My average score was 100+ and I had minimal knowledge of the game, however I really was committed to improving.

After a swing analysis, I understood what was wrong with my swing, and my coach, Kevin Kohlbeck, discussed with me the process of improving my swing, my golf course management, and ultimately my score. He made it very clear that even though a lot of the positions would feel "uncomfortable" at first, in the long run my golf game would drastically improve....with a LOT of practice.

I made the commitment and bought a 3 month package. After those 3 challenging months of 1 lesson a week, practice every day, and after-hours on-the-course lessons my golf game grew beyond what I had imagined.

After the 3 months I continued to grow my golf game to a now single handicap mid 70's golfer.

I am a walking success story. I cannot say enough positive things about this program. I believe the negative reviews are from people that do not understand what this program is about. The coaches, Kevin Kohlbeck in particular in my occasion, made it clear that to improve your game, a large commitment is necessary and if I was willing to put the time in, I would get better...and he was 150% correct. I recently bought another long term lesson package just to get back in there with these guys.

If you are serious about improving your game, this is the best option in golf I guarantee it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at GolfTec Cary. The staff at this location is very flexible and laid back which is very important to me as a career oriented individual who treats the game as a casual hobby. Thanks to my coach (Brinson Byrd) I've seen tremendous improvement in consistency and distance. In short my interest and enjoyment of the game have skyrocketed since starting lessons at this location.

I have been going for lessons to the Cary location for about 4 months now and have really enjoyed the experience. Brinson is a very good teacher and not only explains the golf swing in detail but also using the swing monitor can show you where to improve. Improving in golf is a constant pursuit that with the help of Golftec is much more attainable. I would highly recommend Golftec in Cary.

My recent lessons at GolfTEC have been great. I am pretty much a beginner, but want to move beyond the "beginner" stage and the lessons have helped me to identify different parts of my swing pattern that need work. In completing my swing analysis, Brinson broke down my swing into easy to understand components and taught me how to make adjustments to them to make more consistent contact with the golf ball in an encouraging and easy to understand manner. He provided clear teaching notes and videos that I can refer back to which have been helpful in reinforcing the new techniques in between lessons. I would definitely recommend trying a swing analysis and lessons at GolfTEC Cary.

Highly recommend this location for drastic improvement. Was a 30 handicap and have cut that in half in 6 months. Goal for this year is single digit handicap. Had taken lessons with a club pro years ago with no real improvement, so it's exciting to have a place like this where you see actual change. All of the coaches work with your particular swing and, contrary to one of the other reviews on here, do not force different swing parameters on clients. They're all PGA coaches and have years of experience teaching. Having indoor lessons and practice facilities with Foresight GC2 launch monitors was a huge plus for me as well. Can also demo and get fit for all of the new gear from Mizuno, Ping, Taylormade, etc. Super friendly and approachable staff with excellent results.

I'm only a few months into my lessons and I've already seen drastic changes in my swing. My ball contact is much more consistent with much improved distance (10-20 yds). The staff at GolfTEC Cary are amazing! Even during practice the coaches won't hesitate to give a quick tip on how to improve your swing. Changing your swing takes time and the coaches there preach patience and are very encouraging even when things feel like they are not going well. Stick with the game plan and you'll see results! All of the golfers there have different swing flaws and the coaches do a great job of identifying your specific area you need to work on. If you're looking to improve your game, this is the place!
