I like this taekwondo studio very much.

My son attends this taekwondo studio and the changes I have seen in his confidence and coordination have been substantial. I am a physical therapist and I knew he needed crossing midline of the body work and sequencing of movements to improve focus and temperament outside of what he was getting in soccer. I see him at home practicing all the time. Instead of the "I'm bored mom", he is working on his combinations. His hamstrings also use to be super tight and this has also improved. Shannon and Phillip are a power house of a couple. They have got it going on and we are proud to be apart of Grandmaster Dong's studio.

First, at this school they are taught valuable life lessons of humility, kindness, self control and hoe to protect themselves and others. It isn't a belt factory to gain income. As a believer in Christ faith and integrity are everything and Master Shannon and Henry are wonderful examples of this. You won’t find a better martial arts school anywhere! We have been students for almost 4years. The best part of the school is the kind atmosphere. It feels safe, it feels like family. They care about all the students, and not only the technique, but also the morals. In the beginning of each class we recite school motto: Thinking before acting. Honesty, humility, diligence, self-control…. They teach Tae Kwon Do and also the Right Way. They incorporate lots of laughter and wise life lessons.
All of the instructors exemplify kindness, humility, self-control. They are amazing role models for any young and older young students.
I have too many favorite parts of the school and one of them is that the whole family can take classes together. It makes me so happy to see other family training together just like my boys and me.
If someone just looked at the faces of students during the classes, one would think they weee in a comedy club. It’s very common for students to smile the entire time. Such an amazing energy!
Also don’t let it fool you. Masters Henry being so high ranking as they are still continue to train with Grandmaster Dong in Richmond. Grandmaster Dong is the highest degree 9th black belt. Originally from Korea he has been teaching for 55years! He brought with him lots of authentic knowledge, but he also developed different forms himself. His original Um Yang Su is still thought in South Korea special military training to this day!!!! He wrote a many hundred pages manual of his teachings for black belts. Each student also gets a manual of color belts that explains in details requirement for the next belt. Which is extremely rare in martial art schools.

The Instructors are fantastic, they work very well with my kid who has ADHD. They will pull aside for personal instruction if needed. The staff does their best to accomadate every student of all skill levels. We have noticed a remarkable improvement in our child, well worth the investment in your child. Myself and my 3 sons take classes here. My oldest 2 started 4 years ago and are both 1st degree black belts. My youngest started about 2 years ago and I just started about 2-3 months ago. We have always enjoyed the classes. Love the flexibility of the classes offered throughout the week. Great for busy families with multiple kids and multiple activities. Kids learn discipline and the skills to defend themselves. All while maintaining and improving fitness levels.
