Really fun place to go and work out, which, IMO, is very important for motivation! 💪🏼 John, the owner, and Matt, the/a manager, are super cool & hospitable & always treat you like old friends. ☺️ The workout area is kind of small (not sure if all Hotworx locations are like this), but you have pretty much everything you need, & I love that they have 2 private bathrooms, one with a shower. All the staff and patrons are really awesome, & it is very inclusive! 😊 They have a run/jog club that meets up on Wednesday evenings, and they also offer complimentary light bites and "adult" drinks as well. 😉 ...It's like a big party! 🥳

Just started here and I love it! Everyone is so friendly and extremely welcoming. I was nervous to start due to gym anxiety but the staff and the owner are so welcoming and I felt I fit in instantly! After the initial contract period ends, they will not allow you to terminate your plan.

I sent an email in March to cancel my plan and then personally went in. I was told I had the option to pay $100 or be charged for 2 more months. I chose to be charged for 2 more months. I kept seeing charges, so I went in again in July and the manager dismissed me saying it was already cancelled after promising to call me to give me a refund. I never got the calls to schedule the refund and was dismissed again after saying the timing was correct and I wouldn't be charged again. I didn't bring proof that I emailed to argue against the timing, even though they already had the email.

I was charged again this month. This time I brought my phone with the email, however the manager was not there. The staff finally cancelled my plan. I cancelled because I was in between jobs. I hope the manager understands how his carelessness in business affects others.

Edit: I wonder if there is a way us with proof can take legal action for our refunds if the manager refuse to give it.

Absolutely absurd experience trying to cancel my membership. Looked up how to cancel and I followed the protocol by sending a certified letter. Was sent a text message from the manager (I think, the individual that texted me never gave me their name even though I asked) stating that they have 60-day policy so I would have to pay $168 or $99 same day cancellation. This is not something that I was told by the individual that signed me up and instead of accepting that their employee made a mistake (which happens because we are all human) I was argued with for 3 days via text. After saying okay I'll do the $99 cancellation when my card was charged without my consent while we attempted to figure out this issue I was told that I would then actually have to pay an additional $100 added onto the $84 that I was already charged this month after sending a letter of cancellation in April. I asked to be sent a copy of my agreement for 3 days which I was told I would receive and never did. I'm sure this was not sent because the individual did not want to admit that maybe their employee did make a mistake. This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend anyone get themselves roped into this ridiculous contract. I was also told by the manager that this is standard protocol for all gyms in the area and no one has ever had an issue with this, which I find very hard to believe. Would love to do business with a company that is willing to accept their own mistakes instead of tricking people into spending extra money.

The workouts and facility is fine. The staff is helpful until you want to cancel. I have attempted to cancel several times and each time the manager isn’t present. An assistant manager called me offering partial credit while still charging me for the next month. I explained that is unacceptable and countered partial refund from July to December since that’s the time frame I’ve been trying to cancel. He also alleged that he called me back several times and my call history shows otherwise. He advised he’d text me what we discussed and speak with his manager to see what else can be done. That was 1/2/2024 and I have heard nothing from them. However they are persistent in trying to counter my dispute through my pay party. Great concept but this experience has deterred me from ever recommending them.

Absolutely obsessed with this place! The owner John is fantastic! Love to see him in there actually using the place just like other members. The Assistant Manager Matt is just always nice and super helpful, won’t hesitate about anything!!!. Hannah is just a dream!

One thing I love about Hotworx is that it really is a chose your own adventure. You can do Hot Yoga, Pilates, Cycle, Stretch, Blast, Buns you name it!! Can’t recommend this place enough! There’s even an area to lift some weights.

I like HOTWORX I am a sweat every where member and have been a member since 2017 working out at my home gym back in Texas to HOTWORX all across the east coast. This said this location does get the job done but ultimately falls short of being clean and for some odd reason doesn’t have the regular HOTWORX cycles or other work out gear that I have seen at just about all HOTWORX I have been to. Typically all locations are the same the layout may differ slightly but over all the work outs, gear, and how clean the facilities are the same. Over all yes it gets the job done but falls short on holding the HOTWORX standard of being clean and using right equipment. Two stars for being able to get a sweat in though!!

came here for a few months and i signed up as a founding member to transfer to the north Raleigh location and then cancelled my membership with the facility before the new location opened. was still charged for the Raleigh downtown location (beyond the 2 months notice cancellation policy) and the north Raleigh location. called a handful of times, was reassured that I'd be refunded. was not refunded. went into the facility. the manager lied to my face first claiming he didn't see a charge or my account with them, then when i showed him the charge on my bank statement - he said he can't refund it and gave me his own email when I asked to speak to someone above him. you're at the mercy of the manager's discretion and he's a bad liar at that

Really love this place. Such a welcoming environment, which is seldom the case with fitness centers. I love the workouts because they're highly modifiable - easy to do with friends even if you're at different degrees of intensity or flexibility. Don’t let these reviews scare you. HOTWORX is a unique experience. I used to do HIIT classes, but sometimes I felt so drained. At times the people, loud music, and physical stress was just a lot. This is the opposite. You book a sauna from the app and do the workout by yourself. The HOTWORX workouts are good, but you can do other workouts too- just turn down the sound. You control everything- the temperature, the lighting, the sound. You go at your own pace, with help of an instructor you choose. For a working mom, this is the most refreshing ME time! The gym is never overcrowded or overwhelming. I highly recommend HOTWORX. If you are a grown up, just put your membership on a credit card you can block the charges or cancel the card if billing is a problem. But for the price, this is so worth it!

I, like many others joined hotworx for an easy workout option. I enjoyed it for the first month or two but then I noticed an incredible decrease in the cleanliness of the facilities. You would think that with the nature of having people sweating all over in the saunas, it would be the opposite.

Anyways, I decided to cancel my membership. They told me how I had to still pay for two months post cancelling. Which was whatever for me I just wanted to stop going there.

Now we are nearly in October and I am still getting charged. I have called them a million times only to be dismissed time and time again.

They tried to tell me that I went back in and re opened my membership in June. I was at my grandfathers funeral the weekend that they claimed “I walked in and re opened my account”. I told them that was false and asked for my refund. They assured they would get it to me. Shocker, it didn’t. They charged me again the next month so I called and had the same conversation to no avail. So I finally ended up calling my bank and paying a fee to block them from charging me. Well apparently that didn’t work and they have found a way to still charge me. I am in school and I really just don’t have time to continue hounding them for my money. I’m not really sure what to do at this point. How does it feel to steal from a college student who works two jobs just to afford groceries?

I would never recommend anyone signing up for HOTWORX Raleigh. I have tried canceling my membership since July and every time I called someone told me I needed to wait for a manager to call me back. Here we are 2 months later, after calling them every week, messaging them on Instagram, and trying to contact corporate, I finally get a call back from the co-owner/manager, Lex. Lex treated me with such disrespect and stated that this was my fault. He not only raised his voice at me, but he told me I was not able to speak to anyone else (I had asked to speak to the other owner). I have a video recording of the way he spoke to me and it was downright degrading. If you decide to become a member here, be careful before doing so.

I love Hotworx DTR. It's so convenient to be able to come basically whenever I want to. I used to do group training but found myself not going as much as I wanted to because of restricting class times. You get such a great workout and sweat in a short amount of time. The staff and manager are amazing people, the members are all super friendly as well. They've built a great community and am grateful for it!

Might as well just give them access to your bank account because they'll take it anyway. The monthly fee is already astronomically high compared to every other gym in the country and it isn't even worth it. You get the same workouts no matter what session you choose. They take your money regardless of what you want. You want to keep your membership? $59 a month. You want to cancel your membership immediately? $99 plus your monthly fee. I canceled my card and ordered a new one to avoid wasting my money and they STILL charged me. You literally have to pay them money to stop paying them money. It is really unfortunate because the people are very pleasant. Don't be fooled by the 4 star rating, it's not worth it.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. After I cancelled my membership, this facility continued to charge me the membership fee for several months after the cancellation although I was no longer a member. Each month I called to tell them this was happening and to ask for a refund and for the charge to stop as I was no longer a member and should not be charged a membership fee. With each phone call, the owner/manager assured me that this would be taken care of and he didn't understand why I was still being charged or why my refund hadn't gone through. It was blamed on faulty credit card machines and Hotworx "HQ" in different phone calls. The charges continued until I got a new credit card with a new number and that card was no longer able to be charged. However, I never received the refunds I was promised for several months of membership fees. This is an issue I see in several reviews that obviously has not been rectified. I do not recommend this facility.

Please Read! Although hot works is an ok place to workout the headache to cancel a membership is ridiculous! I used to really enjoy this facility. My most recent trips when using it have been more than concerning.

One of the main issues has been cleanliness. I’ve noticed that within the place itself that cleanliness has been an issue, especially inside saunas.

More concerning is the Wed. night “parties”. These parties seem to be more about how much alcohol can I get and are particularly trashy at best. When the manager is handing drinks out loaded with alcohol, it’s just not an environment I want to be a part of.

I absolutely love the concept of this. I feel if it were managed a little better it could be a really enjoyable place to work out. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience I was interrupted while I was still the video was playing by the manager there was a lot of commotion going on right outside of the yoga room if you are accustomed to go to yoga you will be disappointed. The staff seem a little superficial and as if I were a burden to them. I would not recommend this place unfortunately I wanna love it but the sauna wasn’t heated up they don’t respond in the chat in time and they don’t pick up the phone. Ease of scheduling isn’t their strong suit.

Where do I start, I became a member before the walls were even up, and have not regretted it a day yet. The heat gives your body a different kind of feel after working out. Prior to coming here if I worked out after work or late in the evening I would be sluggish. That made working out in the morning my thing, but once I joined Hotworx and did an evening workout, I felt amazing. Every class I have taken over the almost 3 years of being a member has helped improve my posture, my stamina, my endurance, every workout I see progress and that has made me love working out in a sauna.

I compete against myself, so the app keeps track of your workouts, your calories burned and your after burn, it also has a leader board, that compares your calories burned against others using the app, globally and locally. I try to stay at the top of the leader board for this location, which makes me push harder every time I go.

The staff is amazing, always courteous, helpful and makes a very fun environment for everyone to enjoy. Worth every dollar to come and work out, in your own personal sauna if only for an hour.

I put my body through so much over the years that, at 52, I’m startirng to feel my age and the beat down I’ve given my body. At HotWorx, my flexibility, range of motion and recovery are better than they have been in years. I love that they also have weights so I can take advantage of that right after my work out, when my body is at its best.

I thought that my home location in San Jose having only three (3) showers is inadequate, but Raleigh Hotworx has one shower for the entire place, and the one they do have is difficult to work (very hard to turn on); and I’m also pretty sure there is no air conditioning in the bathrooms, because after you do shower (even a cold shower) you keep sweating and it’s difficult to dry off. For the price, you’d think they’d have air conditioned locker rooms with multiple showers.

Also, for isometric workouts, the units are not large enough for people over about 5’6”. For the yoga, it’s almost impossible to stretch as much as you need to. Even very difficult to lie down if all three spaces are occupied.

I know I won’t visit a place that’s not neighborly. They came through our neighborhood with flyers that are littered everywhere all over people’s lawns and every car windshield up and down the streets. They should be required to come and clean up our neighborhood. And if that wasn’t enough, the flyers they illegally dispensed say good thru 1/31. They put these out on Saturday 2/2.

I really like going to work out here. It feels incredible! Yes you get hot but it’s a good sweat! It’s a little pricey but open 24 hours. Just make sure you read your contract. And enjoy

I love this Gym!!! As a working mom the need for something flexible is absolutely fullfilled! Not to mention the work outs give results of working out for double the time and give me more time in my day!

The cost is much lower than a personal trainer yet you get a one on one feel and detailed instruction and encouragement throughout each work out. I love being able to mix up things like cycling and Hot Yoga which normally would for me to go to two different gyms at two high costs!

Can I also talk about how in just two weeks my skin is CRAZY Smooth and my face and eczema are clearer than ever!

I am hooked! I went in thinking I couldn't do it b/c the thought of being hot while working out was not appealing but after I did the Hot Pilates, I wanted to go do the Hot Yoga! Afterwards I felt great, not sore at all and can't wait to go back!

UPDATE: After going only a couple weeks, I have noticed the spider veins in my legs, that I have had since I was a teenager are going away!!! That alone will keep me coming back!!! I wish I had a before/after photo to share!!! Thank you for bringing this place to the Raleigh area!!!

Whatever you do, do NOT join this gym. I had a terrible experience with management misinforming me of their membership dues and cancellation policy. Don't spend your valuable money on this place!

Update:

The new management has been responsive and tried to ameliorate the situation. Hopefully they will take the gym to the next level.
