I’ve been a member at Hybrid Strength Method for a few months now and after putting in some time, I’m confident this is the gym for me. I’ve tried to do it on my own and that didn’t work.
Recently, I belonged to a ‘boot camp” and while I saw some progress and I really liked my trainer, the structure/program just wasn’t for me. Let’s just say, I’m older and the amount of jumping and hopping around wasn’t something I wanted to be doing –The minute the program requires a grown man to do a “wacky jack,” you really need to evaluate your current program.
Gyms I looked at spoke about being ‘a family’ --I don’t need that. Darin at Hybrid Strength Method gives me what I’m looking for: A challenging plan with structure and guidance and he provides correction and encouragement along the way. It’s been a few months and I already feel and see a difference. Plus, I really like going to the gym and I never thought I’d ever say that.

It was by design I waited 4+ months to provide feedback on Hybrid Strength Method, led by Darin and Katrina.
I’ve attended Bootcamp style gyms over the last six years and enjoyed the workouts. However, I was ready to amp it up with a diverse/structured methodology, and an emphasis on form.
Hybrid Strength Method (HSM) affords me a plan to obtain the results I’m looking for and already see!
HSM members are of varied ages and fitness levels… The session sizes are manageable by the coach.
And yes, we have a GREAT community that is motivated and motivating. If I’m honest that is a great perk, however my priorities are my personal health and fitness goals, and my expectations have been exceeded.

Hybrid Strength Method is an amazing gym! I was someone who had never lifted weights or really prioritized my body before, and they made me feel so welcome and at ease from day one. As a woman in my late 40s who had never lifted weights, touched a barbell, or even knew what a lat pull was, joining Hybrid Strength Method has been a total game-changer. From day one, Darin and Katrina made me feel welcome, supported, and capable—even when I was trying sumo belt squats for the first time (which, by the way, are so fun!).
The group classes are incredibly motivating, but what I love most is that everyone works at their own pace, toward their own goals. There's no pressure to "keep up"—just encouragement to keep going. The programming is thoughtful and effective, and the app makes it so easy to schedule classes, view workouts, and track progress.
In just a short time, I’m already seeing and feeling steady progress—and more importantly, I’m hooked. If you're thinking about starting or continuing strength training, this is absolutely the place to do it!

I have been to ISI and Burn Bootcamp but this gym is nothing like those other gyms. The owner genuinely cares about your success and making sure you get the results you’re looking for. If you’re looking to make an investment in your health and life this is the place. Highly recommend!

Hybrid Strength Method is the real deal. I’ve been training here since they opened and the results in just 8 weeks are unreal. Darin and Katrina know their stuff, push you to your limits, and keep the workouts smart and safe. Hybrid Strength Method is the gym I’ve always wanted… and now it finally exists!
I’ve never been someone who sticks with working out. Most gyms felt intimidating, and I didn’t have the time or energy to figure out what to do on my own. But when Hybrid Strength Method opened down the street, I decided to give it a try… and now I’m obsessed.
The coaching, accountability, and community here are unlike anything I’ve experienced. Darin and Katrina, the owners, have truly poured their heart and soul into this place and into me as an individual. They care about my progress, my strength, my healing, and my overall well-being.
As someone in my 40s, I know how important it is to build muscle for longevity and health. In just three months here, I already feel stronger, more energized, and more confident than I have in years. This gym is something special it’s hard to explain but if you walk in the doors and spend one class with Darin and the other warriors you will understand. The sense of community in each class, the ability for everyone to show up and work at their own level makes it an individualized workout with the benefit of a group setting which helps moral and accountability. I’ve never been a morning person yet I woke up at 5am , 5 days a week to go to class before work, I have never had this level of consistency with exercise. Katrina and Darin make it so easy. Our kids are welcome to come and play outside or in the foyer, others bring their kids too so they have made new friends. Lack of childcare is a struggle for a lot of people trying to get to the gym so the open door child policy is a game changer. It’s really a family gym, husbands and wives, sisters, brothers, parents and children all working out together in the same space, it’s a concept I’ve not encountered before and it’s truly magic. My own family unit has seen the benefits of going to the gym and working out together, it’s shifted our values towards a healthier lifestyle. I’ve tried all the gyms and all the different niche classes offered around Charlotte and Waxhaw, this gym is the most unique and effective program I’ve encountered. I’m physically stronger, have more mental clarity, higher energy levels. Our whole family is happier since we have joined.

Hybrid Strength has been the gym I didn’t know I needed. Haven’t worked out in years. It’s not my “thing.” But now I move appointments around so I can get into the gym. It’s true strength training, and I’m definitely getting stronger. Darin is an amazing trainer. Clear instructions, big on form over speed, ready to adjust exercises as needed for those of us who can’t quite do the exercise - yet! Super supportive group members who push you to do your best, in such a positive way. Recommend 110%.
