Gentle strengthening and stretching along with the fluid motion of the gyrotonic cables is so good for creating space in my joints and muscles. The focus on the rhythmic movements is nice for a therapeutic mind-body connection. Emily was patient while I easily adapted to the form and is effective and fun to work with. A wealth of information and skill, she is a peach. I always look forward to my sessions and leave the studio feeling my pain-free best!!

I am so glad I found this studio several years ago. I have taken both pilates and gyro classes. Both are challenging but the instructor can alter the move if the client needs modification. The gyro work is subtle but is a whole body workout/stretch. Keeps your spine, feet and ankles supple, works arms and shoulders, works on range of motion in the hips and shoulders - if you have never heard of it or have heard of it but never taken class, do it!!
The pilates class is somewhat customized to the ability of the client(s). I like a challenging class and like to feel like I worked out the next day and I am never disappointed.

I have been doing gyrotonic exercise at InJoy with Emily for many many years and I absolutely love it! This type of exercise improves strength and flexibility and can be modified to be performed by an elite athlete as well as a 90 year person with mobility issues, and everyone in between. This is truly exercise for life and Emily is a thorough and patient teacher. The studio is also an inviting and relaxing space and I always look forward to my time there. My daughter also takes Pilates with Gabriela there and she is a wonderful teacher as well. I could not recommend this studio more highly!

The studio was clean warm and and inviting ! Gabby did a wonderful job and was very patient with me. It was my first time but she made it very enjoyable and encouraged me and pushed me throughout our session. She explained each concept in detail, and checked in with me at each step. Gyrotonic is the best exercise you've never heard of. It involves strength training, stretching, flexibility and flowing movement. It was suggested to me to build core strength. I highly recommend Emily and the Injoy Movement Studio!

After suffering bilateral rotator cuff injuries, I had to leave my busy career as a massage therapist to avoid surgery. I had tried acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments and I was still in so much pain that I could barely move. By divine intervention, I found Emily and scheduled 3 sessions just to try it. There was drastic improvement after the second session. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night because of pain. I used to have to ask for help hanging a shower curtain because my shoulders hurt too much. I can do it myself now. I used to have to take muscle relaxers for the pain. I haven't filled that prescription since trying gyrotronics. She helped me regain the use of my shoulders again and I've recommended her to others.

I have been working with Emily since 2015. I fell in love with Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis. I look forward to every session which is filled with stretching and spiraling movements. I was extremely stiff in my upper body and Emily has helped me to loosen these muscles and relax. I enjoy the workouts that Emily provides. I'm not bored with doing the same workout over and over; I'm refreshed both mentally and physically. Gyrotonic is unlike any workout that I have ever experienced. It is a must try and she is the best instructor!!

Emily Hudson is an incredibly professional Classical Pilates and Gyrotonic instructor. Her ability to honor the parameters of the two disciplines yet individualize the practice for her clients' specific needs deserves more than a five-star rating. I started with Pilates yet the rotational sequences of the Gyrotonic work relieves my back pain better than any meds or medical intervention. My body is without pain and performs at a higher level when I am able to work with Emily on a frequent schedule. I recommend her without reservation.
