An amazing boxing facility! I came yesterday for a trial and instantly bought the unlimited package after feeling very welcomed. I read a few comments regarding the no AC .. before moving here i went to another boxing club which didn’t have AC so its not uncommon. Just makes you break a sweat more which isn’t a bad thing. Im looking forward to coming here more.
- Highly recommend this spot if you’re serious about boxing and want a great atmosphere to grow in.

I’ve been going to KnuckleUp for about a year and the classes are a great mix of education/fun. The staff and people in general that come in are really nice, kind and helpful. The overall sense of community is something that I truly feel is one of the pieces that make this gym a great place for anyone looking to train or looking to take their first class.

This review is only for the lifting area, not the boxing portion of the gym. Has some issues, but I'm not going anywhere else, it's a good gym.

The lifting area has just about everything needed and is kept in good order. Only issue it has is that one of the 90 lb dumbbells needs to be replaced since it broke.

It gets very hot in the summer, and chilly in the winter. In the winter it can drop to around 50 degrees in the lifting area. Not too much of a negative, just need to dress warmer than usual for working out. Maybe put some cheap plastic window film over the windows to help insulate and keep it warmer once the temps drop.

It'll be 100 this Saturday and I expect the lifting area above Endless Grind to reach 115-120 degrees (thermostat tops out at HI when it hits triple digits since it can only show two numbers/characters). 95 degree days get it to 105-110.

If the either the polar fan gets connected to a water line (which was mentioned 4 weeks ago in another review by the owner) and/or the dumbbell replaced then I'll update the review by 1-2 stars and remove outdated comments. Just gets a bit too hot in there.

Do not park in this parking lot without a permit! Even if you have written approval from the manager… You may get towed and have to pay $300 to get your car back.

I came here for an intro class with some friends. When we signed up, we got a text from the business asking if we had any questions before our first class. We asked if they had any parking recommendations nearby where we could park so we could walk around the area after class and grab dinner. The manager, Josh, told us we could park in their parking lot. He never once mentioned that we need a permit to park there, that they start towing after a certain time, that he doesn’t have the authority to allow people to park there without a permit. He knew we planned to walk around after class and said we could park there, and we trusted him. We parked there, went to class, and then walked to dinner as planned. When we got back, the car was gone. We had to go to the tow lot and pay over $300 to get it back.

When we called to explain what happened, we didn’t even get an apology from Josh.

I hope this review helps someone else avoid a $300 fee.

Knuckle Up has been a great place for me to workout! Having a gym that is in the heart of the city, so close to everything you need has been more than convenient Espescially with the store across the street, I can get my pre workout then get to work immediately! Highly recommend Knuckle Up, whether you are looking to box or just hit the weights, they’ll take care of you!

The instructors are great & my interactions with the owner was pleasant.
But the administrative staff ("N") is TERRIBLE. & this is who you are forced to deal with when there is any problem with your membership! the person I dealt with "N", whose lack of professionalism prompted me write this review, kept blaming 2 other employees who no longer worked there. (She was very unprofessional). These were 2 different employees (one was the gym manager) whom I had been working with, for months, to straighten this out. Then suddenly - I was charged for ANOTHER month! Charged a 3rd time for an unused membership and told that everything the "gym mngr" told me is being refuted by this admin person, "N".
I had bought a membership as a gift & was promised there would be no issues or charges should the gift not work out. Long story short, the gift didn't work out, so i was told they would transfer the membership to me because they wouldn't refund the amount paid. it took them so long to do this (they didn't ever transfer it) that i was then told by the gym manager that they would freeze my acct (halting charges for 2 months) to make up for the 2 months it had not been used. that seemed reasonable.
I was then charged again - a 3rd time! The admin person "N" said they would not stand by what the manager told me & ..."oh by the way, the manager doesn't work here anymore". "N" even sent me a snarky email implying they were "nice enough to cancel my membership for me" & I should find a gym that aligned better with me.
3 different staff told me 3 different things, they would not stand behind what their people did or said, and they provided TERRIBLE customer service.
At the end of the day - they charged me $450 for a single class and would not stand by what the employees promised.
BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS ORGANIZATION.
They are not respectable.

Knuckle Up is a great experience. I was in the area for about 7 weeks and they were flexible to fit a membership that worked best for me. Coming in with boxing experience, they slotted me in to appropriate classes and built on instruction to meet my level. All the coaches have been friendly and helpful.

The outside of the building not inviting what so ever , quite honest your curb appeal matters as well as your social media , I went around the building trying to get in, it’s all locked , parking area , not so good ,. They have a phone that nobody answer . Forgetting the foot traffic matters in Buisness is key !! Social media looks ok , when you have actually see it for your self , looks like a warehouse district that I would not even take my daughter for a boxing lesson ! Don’t let this social media people fool you ! if you can’t answer the phone as a Buisness on a Saturday when most people are off ! And people are at the gym ! And you might have visitors to see the gym in the inside ! Plus the area is in ! I’ll pass !! Next

We were looking for a boxing class for my 11 year old daughter. From start to finish had the best experience!!! From Alex who got us set up with out free class, to setting up our membership... he made the whole thing easy and was so helpful!!! To the wide variety of times for classes during the week. They make it easy to just drop in on the days that work best for you.
Coach Dilly and Coach Noble are AMAZING!!!! They are so good with the kids!!! They teach them not only boxing, but respect for themselves, each other and adults. My daughter has learned so much in a short month and a half. She's gained so much confidence too!
I use their gym while she takes her classes. They have the perfect amount of equipment. Everything is clean, tons of space. I love the whole atmosphere! So welcoming and you feel comfortable.
I am looking forward to taking a class!
Definitely check them out! So glad we did!!!

Knuckleup is the quintessential neighborhood boxing gym. No bells and whistles, no fluff, no fancy amenities, I dont even think they have an AC. This isn't a lifetime fitness & spa. Just a collective of men and women committed to learning and teaching the sport of boxing.

You are paying for top notch training at all levels, no more, no less. Challenging enough for the seasoned boxer and warm, welcoming, encouraging for someone completely new to the sport. They have an uncanny intuition when it comes to determining where your skills lie within moments of watching you and then catering the coaching specifically to what you need.

Paul will pair you up with someone at your level, then eventually someone very advanced who will go easy on you but help expose blindspots.

The head coach Lopez has a military background but instead of demeaning you publicly , he gets in your ear and pushes you beyond your self imposed limits, calling you higher to what he actually knows you can do.

Alex and Nicole handle onboarding and orientation seamlessly and make sure you're always taken care of.

Randy, the owner's commitment to his business is nothing short of an obsession.

In a world of increasing soul-less national chain businesses, This place is one of those iconic spots that contributes to Raleigh's tapestry of original unique locally owned businesses.

A+ Gym experience.

I've attended many of the public classes here and I got to say it's a fun atmosphere, friendly community, and classes have engaging/challenging workouts. I don't compete for boxing, I just like to learn the art and workout, so it's designed in a way that begineers can enjoy without focusing on advanced stuff. They also have advanced classes but it's separated.

The structure they have in place for drop-in classes and posting schedules is consistent. I've also got to speak with the owner and he's a real dude, he has lots of wisdom to share.

My main criticism of the gym is that I'm a morning person in terms of workouts and they have no a.m. fundamental classes excluding Saturdays. Another thing is that for non-advanced fundamentals, there's only one class a day. So these classes tend to get 30-40-50+ people easily on any given day so it's pretty crowded.

The atmosphere is fun to workout with a huge crowd but it'd be great if there was either atleast one morning fundamental class for weekdays or two fundamental classes for evening to balance crowds a little bit.

Either way, it's a great gym and that's really my only criticism.

Lastly, one thing to point out is that the instructor's here that teach classes are actually very productive, I've had one come up to me outside class hours and give a 10-15 minute training session on how to do pullups, just in the moment stuff but it's well appreciated.

Knuckle Up is flat out awesome. 5 stars isn’t enough! My son started their kids boxing class when he was 3, and he adored it. But he struggled to always listen and pay attention, as most 3yr olds do. But the coaches were incredibly patient and encouraging. We ended up taking a break for a few months because why pay for a class my son wasn’t participating in, amirite. He’s now 4, and more like, aware of things if that makes sense. And he started talking about boxing again. I called them and they offered to let him try out another class, free of charge, even though I tried to just pay for the one class! They didn’t have to do all that, it was just so kind because Knuckle Up is more than just a gym or boxing class - they genuinely care about you and it speaks volumes. They all remembered exactly who my son was and welcomed him back with such open arms. Coach Vic is really incredible - my son spent the entire car ride home talking about how cool and beautiful he is 😂 and how he can’t wait to go back. We definitely rejoined and I cannot wait to see what amazing things my son can accomplish with the support and kindness from Knuckle Up! 🖤

This place has all the equipment you need and tons of space. The staff is also so nice and helpful, and they put a lot of time into keeping this place super clean.

My time at Knuckle Up Boxing has been invaluable! I am a beginner and was a little intimidated walking into a boxing gym. But, the level of personalized attention I’ve received from Victor, one of the trainers, has been very impressive! Victor is a very knowledgeable trainer who makes sure I focus on the basics and taches me the “why” behind every move. Not to mention, he is super patient and tailors his trainings based on progress and personal goals! If one-on-one training isn’t your thing, the gym has classes, group training and even sessions for children! There’s something there for every budget, every age, and all experience levels! The facilities are clean, the gym area is open 24/7, and the staff is awesome. If you’re looking to build solid skills in a clean friendly environment, and looking to meet up with other boxes, Knuckle Up Boxing is the place for you! And don’t forget to ask for Victor!

Knuckle up isn't just a gym. It is a family and support system. I have gone beyond my goal and it has exceeded my expectations as the concept of a gym. I personally work with Vic, He is an incredible personal trainer. Knowledgeable and entertaining in everyway. He is always looking for fun new techniques to make learning more understandable and easier, but never unminding how much work your willing to put in for the end goal. Knuckle up is more than your typical gym. The trainers and staff are welcoming, friendly and very good at their respective crafts. Coach Vic is one of the many standouts at the gym and is a consummate professional. He not only comes to every session with a plan but also has experience to back the lessons he developed specifically for you. As a current competitor you can also see him implement the exact same lessons he teaches you in competition adding immediate legitimacy to the lessons. Hes also willing to mix it up with you and do MMA type workouts, boxing, and general fitness. The gym, its members, and staff are the best because they care and cater to every client and member.

A lot of boxing gyms can be very intimidating, not very welcoming and the instruction is often sub par. That is NOT the case at Knuckleup. Even the more experienced members and fighters will go out of their way to help someone that is new. If it’s strength training you’re interested in talk to Eric. He’s one of the best around. Come join one of the fastest growing gyms in the Triangle.

Great atmosphere and all the coaches present for the classes ive taken (trevor & hunter) were very attentive and put forth some critique whether it was technique or effort. Facility is dope and they also offer strength and conditioning as well as other classes.

Welcoming. Tough as Nails. Smart. The Real Deal. That’s Knuckle Up in a few words. Randy has created an environment that works for fighters as much as those of us who just want to show up and work hard day after day. All of the coaches (Randy, Trevor, Eric, Cricket, Beast, Hunter, Parker, Kelvin, etc.) are excellent. I’ve learned so much about boxing and weight training, but more importantly I leave feeling good mentally as well as physically. Run, don’t walk to Peace Street and see for yourself. If someone tries to stop you, bust ‘em up.

Top notch facility and instructors here! My son has been training with Randy since 2018 and his skills have grown at an amazing rate. Knuckle Up has been a blessing for him in other parts of his life as well, specifically with anxiety. Couldn’t be more thankful to watch his face light up every week when it’s time for training 🥊🥊

Best boxing gym in Raleigh! I’ve only been a member since July of this year and I already feel like I have learned so much in boxing and muay thai. Randy and Trevor are amazing coaches and run the gym like it’s a family environment.

Easily the best boxing gym I have ever been to. It is an extremely learning friendly environment for everyone, regardless of the level of skill. I would highly suggest this gym to anyone who is looking to pick up a new hobby and learn from the best, or if your just trying to stay in good shape and take care of your health. Suitable for any and all ages and people, you can tell the owners and staff are very passionate about what they do.

There's just no other way to say it- Knuckle Up is awesome!! The whole staff is great and always friendly. I mostly take classes with Randy who is just the best! He's always encouraging, even when he critiques. I have never felt left out or uncomfortable in a class and I had ZERO boxing experience when I started. 10/10 would recommend!

Signed my daughter (6 years old) for boxing personal training a few months ago! Stuart is her trainer and is absolutely awesome with her! She loves the sport and looks forward going to each session! The owner is a pretty cool down to earth guy and almost always there making sure everything is running smooth when he’s not teaching a class himself. All the staff there is really nice and supportive too! The gym itself is clean and well kept. I’m happy they opened their doors to the new younger generations. They aren’t teaching them how to fight, they are teaching them to defend themselves. If you are looking for something different for your child this is definitely it! They offer group child sessions or individual one on one sessions, what ever you prefer!

Love this gym. Coaches really care about you having the best experience and learning real professional technique, so you’re not just flailing around like at some other combat fitness studios...
