About the Club

A beautiful yoga studio in Wilmington, North Carolina; We recently let go of our physical space (for now!), but we are patterning with local small business to offer yoga classes all over our beautiful beach town. Our practice is inspired by a coastal lifestyle and the ever-changing current of life. Our yoga classes are based on vinyasa sequencing, where the body and breath move together, reflecting the ebb and flow of life. In addition to vinyasa classes, our studio schedule includes diverse offerings such as yin yoga, restorative yoga, alignment-based yoga, Seaside/Soundside Yoga, and standup paddleboard (SUP) yoga. We also offer teaching trainings, workshops, private classes + virtual offerings. Find us wherever the land meets the sea!

I've been to several yoga studios around Wilmington. I love Longwave the most because of the instructors. They are extremely knowledgable and do a great job of keeping the classes challenging and interesting. They also offer beginner or more basic classes if that is what you're after. I always feel relaxed and rejuvenated when I leave.

I signed up for the 200 Hour Teacher Training Program with Longwave Yoga in 2022. It's a 6 month program that cost $3,000. Training was scheduled for April - Sept. In June, unfortunately I had to stop going to the classes because my mom was really sick and I became her primary caretaker. I talked with the owner (Amanda) about what my options were. If possible I wanted to continue to do the work from home and still stay on track to graduate in September. Amanda (the owner) told me there were a required amount of in-person contact hours which she knew were hard for me at the time but I would need to graduate and I could schedule private lessons with the lead trainers at a later date. So for the next five months I worked alone at my house and never heard from anyone at the studio other than the confirmation emails that they'd received my monthly payments. Then when I emailed the lead trainers to schedule the private lessons, Amanda (the owner) said it would cost me $100 per hour for 158 contact hours, totaling $15,800. I explained that I should not have to pay more money because when Amanda and I had talked about the in-person contact hours previously she never said it would cost me more money. When I first found out about my momโ€™s diagnosis it was June, and at that time I had only paid $1,500 into the program. I could have stopped paying right then but after talking with Amanda, I continued to make payments of $500 every month trusting her word that I could finish the program at a later date. Amanda completely mislead me. She told me I could schedule private lessons not once mentioning that it would cost me more money. Sadly after doing all the work at home, and paying $3,000, I still donโ€™t have my 200 Hour Yoga Certificate.

I attended Prenatal Yoga with Kristen on Sundays throughout pregnancy and this made ALL the difference! Aches and pains felt like night and day before and after class. Kristen creates a strong class community with sharing at the start of class, ensures to address individual areas of concern and educates about the pelvic floor. I always left feeling so relaxed. I cannot recommend enough and can't wait to go back for postnatal and baby and me classes!

Beautiful studio, welcoming community, and amazing instructors. They encourage practicing what feels right in your body and offer modifications as well as challenges. They also sell Jade mats, which is my personal favorite brand. Everything you need in a studio, no matter where you are in your practice. Easy to follow direction if youโ€™re a newbie. So glad I dropped in!

Iโ€™m a yoga instructor that was traveling to the area and saw they offered paddle board yoga. Iโ€™d never done this type of yoga before so thought Iโ€™d give it a try. Iโ€™ve paddle boarded a few times, so took the beginner class with Devan. It was an amazing class, she taught us some of the basics of boarding, and taught a full class that was challenging and overall really awesome! Iโ€™ll be back for sure if Iโ€™m in the area again! Thanks so much!

Love this yoga studio. The instructors are all amazing -- my personal favorite is Mary and her Jivamukti classes. If you are looking for something more along the lines of a hiit workout, Addie Jo's Prauna Pumps are a fun time. The studio has really helped my yoga journey, the classes are always different, not just read from a script. I learn something new about yoga everytime I go, whether that be mentally or physically. So far, it is my favorite studio in Wilmington, will return when I have more money in my pocket (it is a bit pricey but understandably so).

Truly my favorite yoga studio I've practiced at. Longwave has the perfect balance of both the meditative and physical aspects of yoga. They offer a wide variety of classes to choose from - my favorites have been candlelight yin and power hour yoga. Each teacher brings their own unique twist/talent to their class and is very hands on (if you wish) to ensure students are aligned correctly. Highly recommend this studio!

I've been going to this studio for about 6 weeks and it is my favorite yoga studio I've ever been to. All the instructors are incredibly friendly and open for questions before or after class. The schedule is very versatile for those who work. They constantly have events and guest instructors. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Addie Jo, Rachel, Carolyn, and Logan. They do the "Hour of Power" classes which are such a great workout. The instructors are very hands on and help correct your posture in a gentle way. They've been very encouraging and supportive as I learn!

Absolutely love this studio! The teachers are great and the studios' aesthetics are warm and inviting. I have been practicing with the studio owner (Lexi) for a handful of years and she is an amazing women and yoga teacher. The studio is like a second home for many of us yogis in Wilmington. You really can't go wrong with any class that you'll take - each instructor has the experience and knowledge to deliver exactly what the class offers. Not many studios can boast that. I love this place so much that I decided to do my 300hr advanced teacher training here. With getting my 200hr at Pure Yoga in NYC, my standards are high and Longwave really delivers. Go get on your mat here - you'll be so happy you did!

It warms my heart to see Wilmington's yoga community is thriving! I grew up in the area and even when I was in college the options were limited. Now when I come home to visit family I always look forward to getting a session in at Longwave. I've taken classes all over the US and I'm really sad that I haven't found a studio like this yet in Chicago which has a gazillion yoga studios. The instructors are key to a great class and I have truly enjoyed each class I've gone to. I always leave with so blissed out. I look forward to seeing what other cool workshops they have and can't wait to drop in for a class next time I'm home.

Longwave Yoga has and will continue to be my yoga studio! From the very friendly, knowledgeable and wonderful staff to the calm, grounded and positive energy of the studio, Longwave stands above the rest. I feel my yoga practice on a personal and spiritual level, has been elevated because of the high quality teaching Longwave provides every class. I continually learn how to practice yoga safely and correctly through the amazing, affordable workshops offered and the simple in-class adjustments given. Each instructor is patient and willing to offer tips, instructions and visit with me after class if I have questions, need help or loved every song on their playlist. My own personal life has grown from each spiritual and positive intention given by the instructor as class begins and I find myself living differently. I feel apart of a healthy and positive family at Longwave without the drama and negativity I have felt in previous studios I've practiced in through-out the country. The best thing is, I get to be me at Longwave...laugh, smile, visit, zen out, meditate, learn, and get one heck of a great yoga practice along the way! Thank you, Longwave Yoga!

Having taking classes from many of the elite instructors in NYC like Sadie Nardini, Kelli Kam, Elena Brower, David Romanelli, etc, I was worried to what I may find outside of the city. I was so pleasantly surprised to find Longwave! The level of teaching here is AMAZING and the diversity of classes has made Longwave my Yoga HOME!!! Every class I take, leaves me feeling so Zen.
