We are Hickory's oldest ballet school, offering classes for all ages. Louis Nunnery School of Ballet caters to all dancers, both male and female, from age four to adult.
Louis Nunnery spent his lifetime inspiring others to greatness through the graceful art he adored. He instructed hundreds of students in the more than 60 years he taught in Hickory. His passion for dance now lives on through a new generation.

Louis Nunnery School of Ballet has been the best space for our daughter. It's given her a place to be herself, explore creatively, and gain strength not only physically, but also mentally. Ballet has opened up such a confidence in her, and this space is exactly where she belongs. LNSB is a space where anyone can have fun and be taught by extremely talented instructors. Once you're in this ballet family of ours, you're hooked.

The Louis Nunnery School of Ballet is more than just a place for my daughter, who is 18, and me, who is 54, to learn classical ballet techniques and perform together; it genuinely feels like a second home. The school offers a loving and nurturing environment that enables everyone, from ages 4 to 82, to grow and thrive.

By far I thought being a man in ballet was weird but I met the nicest people you would meet in this one school who taught me everything I know which I'm still learning a lot 😅but they have fun while doing it sometimes it's hard dancing cause you try your hardest not to 😂 laugh

I highly recommend Louis Nunnery School of Ballet. Our experience with our child in Ballet 3 this year was no stress and 100% positive. Is is also very affordable. Our child left every class happy. The Peter Pan performance was wonderful.

This is the longest running Ballet School in the area. Mr.Nunnery left the business to the women who run it now. They try to channel his love for the art of this traditional dance style by cherishing the students and cultivating a passion for ballet in the boys and girls that have chosen to dance here. Mr. Nunnery believed that there was a definite place for boys here as well as girls, and encourages young dance enthusiasts with affordable fees and flexible uniform requirements. Classes are taught in age groups as young as 4 and into adult.

Louis Nunnery was a tough Ballet Teacher and Exercise Ballet for older ladies, but he was a wonderful human being, a good person, and he is missed.
