MADabolic Asheville is great!
I'm in my early 30's and have a sports-playing background. However, I had never participated in workout classes or "formal" weightlifting before. The coaches and fellow class members are super nice and helpful. Many of the exercises are new to me, but the coaches are great at providing feedback/corrections without making you feel bad or anything like that. It's nice getting a full workout in without thinking about what to do next. Regarding the workouts, they are tough, but you can easily adjust by using heavier or lighter weights.

Recently crossed my 1 year mark at MADabolic and am still loving it as if I started yesterday! 🙌🏼 The Interval styles are amazing and the different lanes make it easy for all fitness levels to jump in, or self-adjust based on how you're feeling that day. I especially LOVE the striking days, since that isn't something offered at other gyms and is a new challenge for me 💥🥊 MAD Avl coaches are all knowledgeable AND fun, which makes every class enjoyable... even when the programmed interval is extra hard (*for me)! 🫶🏼

I have been going to MADabolic for a few months now and it has been nothing short of incredible. The workouts are challenging and rewarding. The coaches are knowledgeable, friendly, and overall thoughtful/caring people. But maybe the best part - the community element. Everyone there is friendly, welcoming, and it is just the polar opposite experience of big, commercial weightlifter gyms. Where is the option for 6 stars?

I FINALLY found a gym that I look forward to going to! As someone who can’t stay focused at the gym it’s great to have a gym where they program the workouts for you. As a field sport athlete, this is the perfect compliment to help with my strength training and stability. All the coaches are all THE BEST and are encouraging, fun and form-focused - but not coddling. They keep you accountable. The MAD community is fantastic too! This gym has truly has become a a personality trait.

I started Mad a little over 3 years ago ago. I can’t tell you how much I love it. I’m addicted. I was pretty nervous getting started and thought it was out of my comfort zone. But I’m hooked!!! I can see and feel the results. The instructors are very thorough with explaining the routine before hand. They motivate you throughout. The music is so good and motivating. They come by and genuinely care about your form and pushing you to keep going. I can’t say enough. Very grateful for the experience and can’t wait to see more results along the ride. I push myself the most I ever have. It’s not competitive which is love. You just compete with yourself give it a try, I swear you’ll get hooked. Your mind and body will be thanking you!!

It has been almost one year since I started going to MADabolic. I really love the challenging workouts and the energy of the classes. I cannot recommend MADabolic enough to people. In less than 6 months I was able to bump up in weight class and I have lost so much weight. I have made amazing friends there as well. I love MAD Asheville. It has been a long long time since I’ve worked out and I felt comfortable and challenged at the same time. My more athletic friends can also get their booties kicked bc you can choose the intensity and weight. It’s varied but steady so it keeps me engaged but it’s not overwhelming and classes passes by so quick, I can sneak over in between meetings. ALL of the trainers are wonderful.

I really enjoy the different workout formats they offer each week, and how each workout gives me opportunities to better my health and mind. The coaches I’ve had thus far are amazing! They help you fix your form, etc. without being rude about it. They really are there to help you in any way you need, and that’s very much appreciated. I usually go to the 6 AM workout at least 3 weekdays each week and the 8:30 AM workout at least one day each weekend, and each class is packed. I love this, because it keeps me motivated to keep going back. The energy during each class is the best!

I am SOO glad I found MAD! I was in a slump and needed to get jump started and build some strength. Enter MAD! I did the 3 class trial for $5 and I was sold. Workouts are hard but fun, they make me push myself and I feel empowered for making it through at the end of every class! ***Update***: came back in fall 2024 and I still highly recommend. The workouts are challenging in a good way and the coaches are attentive and welcoming. I like the format and how it's connected to a loading plan; you aren't randomly lifting weird, heavy things and doing crazy cardio for the sake of sweating. 10 stars!
I was in town for a few weeks and needed to find strength training similar to what I do at home. MADabolic is a great home away from home. It was easy to sign up for a class package, each coach was welcoming, kind, and attentive, and the workouts were just what I needed (hard but fun!). I appreciate the community they clearly actively foster- it is a place that is open to all fitness levels. Highly recommend and I can't wait to come back!

After being in pretty good shape for most of my life (military, sports, etc), age finally caught up to me and slowed me down quite a bit recently.
MADabolic has been absolutely instrumental in helping me find the motivation and guidance to get back to a place where my body feels happy and healthy. The trainers are helpful and kind, and the other people working out are supportive too. Nothing like a common goal to bring folks together!

Love that I can get in, bust out an intense workout, and get out within 50 min. Trainers are super kind and helpful to everyone, especially newbies. I just joined and I love The classes because the trainers help you get into the right form, And in no time you are done with the workout. I don’t know where the time goes!! New to Asheville and signed up online for the 5 day trial. I didn't know it was deload week and this wonderful establishment extended my 5 days so I could experience all the classes! They have this fun thing called “game day” and it was the most enjoyable way for me to get back into it after being off from an injury. All the trainers are great, knowledgeable, and super friendly. It is so nice to be able to effortlessly schedule my workouts for the week on MAD's handy app, show up, hang out with their amazing trainers, and get a great workout in.
At MAD, I am lifting weights that I never thought I'd be able to lift and I am starting to see a big difference in my strength and appearance after only 58 classes! Their trainers are so knowledgable, friendly, and welcoming and they always have your back to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly.

I have been at MAD AVL for a little over a month and from the second I stepped into this gym I felt at home. I have seen the most transformation I have ever had in such a short period of time in any gym. Not to mention the community and coaches are so welcoming. I have loved every class as its always something new and never gets old. As a military veteran moving to AVL MAD was my saving grace. Transition out of the military has been difficult and MAD has given me a sense of community. The coaches know what they are doing and how to prevent injury and literally everyone in the gym is fit and is because of the science behind MAD. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

MAD has been a huge positive aspect of my life for the past year. Every coach is so knowledgeable and well rounded in their instruction and they always make it fun and relatable. I’ve not only grown much stronger in the past year but have also found great connections through MAD. I’m new to this gym but love it so far. While I am an active person, I’ve generally steered clear of gyms and classes. However, MAD has been a lot of fun so far to help me focus on strength and conditioning with a variety of stations and exercises (free weights, kettlebells, body weight, slide boards, boxing, etc) at each class done individually but together. The instructors are also friendly and helpful.

Madabolic has been one of the greatest lifestyle changes I’ve made! As a long distance runner, I was used to frequently suffering various pains, soreness, and fatigue injuries. Since joining Mad, I’ve felt stronger and have generally been far less injury prone. Some workouts can feel tough, but at the end of the day have helped to greatly develop my endurance, strength, aerobic capacity, and athleticism. The coaches are also so knowledgeable and amazing at providing feedback.

I have been meaning to go to MAD for awhile now since some of my friends go and love it. I started my membership about 3 months ago and I have found it exciting to go 4 days a week instead of dreading my workouts.
You are in and out within an hour which is nice, it all you need to feel like you got a great workout in that amount of time. They recommend you only go 3-4 days a week so I usually take off on the weekends. I used to be a very athletic person but as I am getting older I find myself slacking and not committing to a steady routine, so I just wouldn't go at all... MAD takes the guess work out, it's nice to walk into class and not need to think about anything. Every instructor is great and they lay everything out for you in the beginning of class and they will help you throughout if they see you are lifting wrong or need clarification. They also take classes too when they aren't teaching which shows they truly believe in the class setting, and its inspiring to see.
I like that there are all different types of people who go to class and not just the stereotypical "gym body" types. Everyone is killin it in class no matter what size or age that they are. I was hesitant to sign up because it is pricier than a basic gym membership, however after the 5 day trial I was hooked. You get what you pay for and it is worth it in my opinion because MAD has made me like to work out again. The workouts are hard which I like, but you can ease in since there are multiple levels and weights so it's not as intimidating as you think. I see it as an investment in me, how I see myself, and my long term health. The community is cool! I respond better to a class setting because you are motivated by the instructors and the energy of the rest of the class. It's not as awkward as going to other work out classes I've done in the past because you have the option to talk to people but you honestly don't have time, you are full into the workout. There are also no mirrors or harsh lighting which is a bonus. I hate seeing what I look like when I work out and florescent lights give me headaches and no one looks good in that lighting let's be honest... It helps me focus on the work out.

If you’re looking for a clean, efficient, body mechanic oriented workout, this this the place for you. You spend an hour of intense, individualized strength/cardio intervals that leads to a refreshing and renewing feeling of accomplishment. No parking lot yet parking is relatively easy. I live ten minutes away, and I’ve departed 30 minutes before class starts and have almost always parked easily with plenty of time to breathe.
The nuanced coaching at this pricy gym is fantastic and there are plenty of helpful perspectives to be had. You’ll ALWAYS get one-on-one coaching when necessary and having an expert nearby can prevent injury. Do you struggle in the realm of geometry, ergonomics, or exercise in general? MAD may be for you. Coaches have expertise and patience. Furthermore, there is a method to the MADness. Every day, someone smarter than you has planned a comprehensive workout, so you don’t have to.
Not only is the music too loud for being part of a cumbersome contrast, but the majority of songs would have to improve significantly in order to be considered listenable. The reason humans tolerate it (besides fear of being singled out) is, let’s say, ‘pale’ guilt, but this abstract reason runs deeply through our society. And while no one seems to notice or care, the music, per se, is not the malady, but rather, the IMBALANCE of art/music is. Genres (and sub genres) are ignored as if Hip Hop is the universally idealistic music by which to exercise. Now, is Rap/Hip Hop the only genre played at MAD? No, but it dominates. And if it’s too loud while you don’t understand it, your intellectual capability can suffer while fear can flourish. Absurdly, USA culture (NOT MAD staff) begets humans who refer to people who lament about Hip Hop which is often a hard-sell, as racist. This is the world we live in. MAD projects a BLARING excess of Ego-rap with sophomoric lecherous lyrics, plus En-wordzzz in spades, so if that isn’t you, move ahead.
I’ve amassed comprehensive playlists and shared with MAD, and I was told “corporate picks the playlists.” So I emailed corporate. Deploying flattery, they made haste of the challenge and that was that. I think that softer music would be a suitable starter (for entering/stretching/talk/listening). Progressing, I think that incorporating prog-rock, metal riffing, and more hard hitting instrumental disco-tech and more trance/dance stuff would help the vibe as overall enjoyment might be lacking while the sound is being tolerated out of obligation. What’s more, moderation and BALANCE will usher in more understanding of (the) Hip Hop (that is already played at MAD).
I know when humans are enjoying music and so do you. You can see it. You can feel it. Even amid subtle responses, you can sense enjoyment around you. Of course there are plenty of exceptions on a relative plane, and I can be wrong, but patrons don’t seem to actually enjoy the audio, and it is too loud to bring in earbuds and listen to one’s own in lieu of ear plugs (plus we have to listen to coaches). The abstract sum of MAD’s music is like standing before a mirror and shutting our eyes, denying that the irises surrounding our pupils are beautiful jewels while, the more tones the merrier. It’s a shame the spectrum is not so colorful.
Can be a culture shock, so give yourself time to adjust. Although we work (and rotate) in unison, go at your own pace. I’ve lost 40 pounds in two years with MAD, and my posture has improved. I am thankful for all I've learned, including stretching stuff. (Tip: learn a “Good Morning” stretch before you go for your first time). There is a lot of fear ‘round going to a new (communal) gym. But once when I was not feeling well, I sat out from class and simply rode a bike, observing. I noticed something going on in the entire room: EVERYONE without hyperbole, doubts themselves sometimes. The coaches, the mailman, even Beefcake. Everyone. You will do great. So, inhale, exhale and keep your “EyEz-on-the-HoRiZoN.”
Good Asheville vibe at MAD. We take care of each other. There is unity. But like a job that has worn thin, the tunes graphed with monthly cost makes MAD, for me, a spent force. Thank you for putting up with me and for helping me survive, MADabolic. I am forever grateful, and will miss you guys. Mad love.

Never thought I would be the kind of person to find true community through my gym and attend classes with religious fervor and feel continually stronger and happier and more motivated the more I went to the point that I would make it the first thing I did in the morning on my birthday and honestly get a weird amount of FOMO when I could not attend class for whatever reason and then also do things like meet up with people outside of class to engage in fun activities like rock climbing and drinking beer on rooftops and attending haunted houses, but, well … here we are.

MAD Asheville has been one of my best workout experIences. Coming out of lockdown I wanted and needed to get back into classes and my prior gym had closed. A friend invited me to MAD and now after 2 years- my husband is there and more friends have joined. I was at my lowest fitness level I had been in at least ten years. The coaches were and still are encouraging, helpful, and caring but yet- they motivate you too. Which I need sometimes. I highly recommend MAD. The workouts are perfect for me and the people are too. From personal experience, it doesn't matter what shape you're in on day 1, the fantastic trainers will help you get strong(er) and ensure your technique is sound through ever-changing workouts that are challenging, gratifying, and, dare I say, fun (although if an animal name is in the title of a movement, you're probably in trouble).

Wow, where do I start? I started my “fitness journey” in January as your typical New Years Resolution and was having issues finding a place I felt comfortable in as a beginner. I found Madabolic through a friend and I’m so glad I did. I did feel nervous the first class of course but that quickly changed as the atmosphere there is super encouraging. The coaches are always making sure your form is correct and finding a modification if needed as well to encourage you to try your best but also not over do it which I think is great. Again, this is *BOMB AF* hehe. The location is convenient and the hours are also great and flexible. Thirty classes in today and more to go. Much appreciation for all the coaches for being so helpful along in this journey!

I’ve had a membership to MAD for 5 months now and wanted to give it some time to review since I’m one to get bored of new workout routines after 1 month lol. 5 months in and I’m still motivated and excited to go every chance I can make it. All of the coaches are super friendly and always offering to help give advice on fixing your form, avoiding injuries, and just learning how to work out with correct form (for those like me who needed to learn).
Memberships are definitely more expensive than a “normal gym,” but you have experienced coaches motivating you through the workouts (and giving you advice on how to get better), the classes are small, and it’s a different structure every day (my adhd brain needs constant change to stay motivated).
10/10 would recommend to anyone - I love it.

I had zero experience in lifting or using any of the equipment Madabolic offers. I have experience in yoga, zumba and dance. I knew my body needed something different as I have not been getting the results I desire.
I was a little intimidated to try a gym like Madabolic. From my first call with Jane where she answered all of my questions, to my first class with Clara, those fears and worries went away. I am inspired by the people working out next to me and each coach makes me feel comfortable and really pushes me to keep going! The atmosphere of this gym is unlike any gym I've ever been apart of!

It was my first time walking into a MAD and I am from out of town. However, with 8 years of group fitness experience from CrossFit, OrangeTheory, F45, as well as my own gym I can say this place is doing it right. Great workout atmosphere and coaches. However, I was told for a promotion that I was not being entered into a contract and that cancelling my membership would be as simple as giving a 30 days notice. After paying $150 a month for 7 months, I was charged an additional $300 to close the membership. Simply unnecessary - read the initial sign up email folks!

So, after being diagnosed with MS, I was looking for a structured program to help me to get active. I was not actively exercising and needed a place to work with me at my pace.
One day on a Facebook feed, I saw Madabolic Asheville. As I looked at their website, the training looked very intense, but I made the phone call and in March of this year my life was changed forever.
I began personal training with Jamie, which I did not feel like I would survive most days. However, Jamie was very patient, understanding, and able to modify the moves when needed, based on my abilities. I have tried many exercise programs over the years and quickly realized this was the one for me. If you take my advice and become a member of Madabolic Asheville, it will not be easy, but it will be worth it. You become a part of a family like no other.
Some days, I do not go in there looking forward to my workout, but Jamie always encourages me to keep going. She is the reason I will be a life-time member of Madabolic Asheville. As of today, I can complete an actual class, with minimal modifications which when I started, I never dreamed was possible. I love the small class size, the organization and planning of groups by weights, the class format, the variety of workouts, the incorporation of boxing in every class, the coaches' attention to detail to each person, the family atmosphere, the extra activities such a group runs and socials, the social media involvement, and the cleanliness of the facilities. I get the best results in the least amount of time at Madabolic! Jamie and her staff of trainers are skilled athletes who not only motivate me, but watch my alignment to make sure I am lifting properly. The space is clean, the music is pumpin' and I feel AMAZING after every class. I'm truly challenged each time I go, and I never get bored because the workouts change every time. Thank you!

Everything. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and always close by to help you do each exercise properly and safely. Because the workout is different every day I don't get bored. I have also seen great results in my strength and endurance.
