I believe a great gym starts with coaches who care about their athletes. That’s exactly what you’ll get here. The onboarding process is exactly what I needed before rolling into regular classes. Casey was able to help me clean up some movement patterns and technique with simple cues. The one on one was what I needed and it allowed him as a coach to get to know me as an athlete, gauge where my fitness is, and understand where I needed some extra help. On top of all of this, the onboarding workouts will show you how class will flow so you are not walking in blind.

Hats off to these guys man! I used to never want to do crossfit or even try it but decided I would to check it out and challenge myself. KC immediately took me under his wing and basically had to reprogram me from all the years of improper lifting. He was able to switch up explaining something when I didn't understand it and motivated me to keep going when I had a tiny thought to stop. Also I have a crazy work schedule so when I would need to shift a meeting or come late it was never a problem. Everyone is always cool and I cant wait to get back in there tomorrow. Special shout-out to the homie Gizmo.

Missing Link CrossFit gave me what I needed to take my fitness to the next level! I had some strength experience with powerlifting and weight lifting for football, but CrossFit is so much more than just throwing the bar around and doing a couple pull ups and burpees. At Missing Link, the coaches worked with me during the short week of Onboarding into the rest of my time as a member at the gym to teach and refine my movement techniques that helped me move more efficiently and safely. I went from struggling to do pull-ups under fatigue, to being able to do ring and bar muscle ups over the course of only 3 months. The same can be said about double-unders, hand stand walks, snatches, and every movement you can imagine. Hard work is important, but learning the basics gives you something to build off of and work towards as you increase weight and skill ability. I’m so thankful for the coaches and community of athletes at Missing Link CrossFit who gave me something to look forward to every day, and pushed me to be better each day!

➡️THIS IS A LONG ONE, BUT WORTH THE READ 🚩🚩
I joined Missing Link Cross Fit program after being upfront that I needed modifications because I’ve had muscle repair and pelvic floor issues. Before I even paid, I was reassured that they could meet me where I was and help me safely build up at my own pace. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience.
My first workout was extremely intense. I think there was some miscommunication because when I said I had done “CrossFit,” I really meant circuit-style workouts not this level of high intensity. By the end of that first session, I was dizzy, nauseous, and felt like I was going to black out. It took a little while for the trainer (Casey) to check on me, but when he did, he helped me move to a softer area and asked if I was okay. He mentioned that feeling that way was “almost normal when you’re starting back up,” which was concerning. He did send an apology text later, and because of that, I decided to brush it off and give it another chance.
The second workout went fine it was lighter, and I got through it without issues.
But during the third session, things went downhill again. I showed up at 10:30 for my scheduled time, but he had changed it to 11:00 without telling me. I waited around for 30 minutes, already feeling uneasy. While I waited, I watched the group class doing very advanced movements hanging from bars and lifting heavy and I started realizing that I wasn’t getting the kind of support or modifications I had been promised.
When I tried to bring up my concerns, he asked me to come into his office, but as soon as I started explaining how I was feeling, he got defensive and frustrated. He quickly stood up, told me to follow him, and started showing me a screen of workouts, saying “everything can be modified.” The tone felt tense and dismissive like he was annoyed that I was even bringing it up.
We ended up moving into the workout anyway, and that’s when the jump rope and pelvic floor comments happened. When I said I didn’t want to risk leaking, he said, “What’s a little pee gonna do? I’m sure hundreds of women have peed in here,” while pointing around the room even saying, “Probably over there on that bench.” Then he asked, “Are you embarrassed to pee on yourself?”
I told him I didn’t think pelvic floor recovery worked like that it’s internal, not something you just “work up to.” He responded with, “Well, in the 21st century, doctors will just tell you not to work out,” and then added, “Back then, women were free-birthing babies and running from lions.” I remember just standing there in shock.
He did later cancel my membership and said he would refund one of my $199 payments, which I respect. But at the end of the day, I still lost money because I only completed three sessions and none of this would’ve happened if things had been handled more professionally from the start.
This experience was disappointing on so many levels.
For any woman with pelvic floor or core concerns, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. You deserve trainers who listen, respect your boundaries, and understand how to keep your body safe.

I came out to Jacksonville for 2 weeks and was looking for a CrossFit gym while I was out here. From the moment I stepped through the doors, Missing Link felt like a box away from box. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The programming was great, and the coaches did a fantastic job. Casey especially is an incredible coach! He is incredibly knowledgeable and offers suggestions on how to improve in a way that shows he cares about helping you. Also love to see a dog and kid friendly gym!

At Missing Link, the classes are a good mix of group training with personal touches that you’d normally only experience in personal training sessions. The coaches provide modifications as needed and really take time to focus on form through the movements and help coach you through it and challenge you. The environment at Missing Link is motivating/ encouraging.

Love it there! I was so nervous to sign up for a CrossFit gym since I’ve never have a gym membership before. But since they offer a free class to try out, I figured why not? And I ended up loving it. There’s not too much pressure to push my limitations and feel unsafe but the right amount of encouragement to keep me going and push me to get stronger. As long as I’m living local, I’ll be there.

Probably one of the best gym experiences I’ve had ever. It’s great to be able to workout with others and get a good sweat in, makes it more fun for people like me. It’s a perfect place to go to if you’re new in town and want to meet people, they do several social events a month and it helps make Jacksonville feel a little bit more like home.
There isn’t a lot of commercial gym equipment like what you see at a like a Planet Fitness or a 24hr Fitness etc, but this place isn’t really designed for that. Plenty of weights, kettlebells, dumbbells, squat racks, rigs, and other equipment for Olympic style lifts and cross training. Cardio equipment includes several rowers, some exercise bikes, ski pull machines, and a treadmill.
The coaching is solid, and the environment for classes is perfect for every skill level- beginners get slayed and experts get slayed. You’re really going to learn your weak points here, and they walk you through how to improve on them.
Im moving, and I’m really going to miss this place- couldn’t recommend a better gym to be apart of!

The gym is open and amazing. If you want to join don't bother if you aren't former military. They only want certain people in there. They should advertise that on their website so people know. I was told to replace $320 worth of 'parts' in an email. I am a very unhappy customer. I didn't even get told in person. I spent over a year training here. Bad mouthing old coaches who helped me through my training is extremely rude especially during a class. If the owner was actually at their own gym they would've known there's been broken equipment. The trainer getting inches away from my face while training is uncalled for I am a woman and don't want some random dude in my face like that. I was a mom who came here to help my post partum you all can screw off.

As a mom of 3, I can tell you that going anywhere can get hectic and I was very afraid to go with my kids to the gym. I didn't know how the coaches would act, how the fellow crossfitters would feel about all my kids (lol). But Ken, our 9:30am class coach, makes our kids feel very welcomed.
The kids want to go to the gym and ask how many days until we go to Crossfit, like all the time. Finding a 2nd home for me came easy here at Missing Link since I joined the unofficial mom class.
If you're a mom looking for a really cool gym, workouts that show results if you choose to work really hard, a gym that's treats your kids with respect, then this gym is for you.

Our daughter has attended the Missing Link Kids Fitness Class for over a year now. We couldn’t be more pleased! She has grown radically throughout her time here. From the first time she rolled through the door, her coaches have been incredibly optimistic and helpful. She is 6 years old now and lives with a disability which has caused her to need a wheelchair for most of her public mobility. Coach Meredith hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped using creative and adaptive methods to help our daughter participate fully in each and every activity. The atmosphere and team mentality has helped her tremendously. Not only has she grown physically stronger, but mentally and socially as well! She loves this class and looks forward to it each week, rolling in with a big grin and a winning attitude! We love and appreciate the staff and athletes at Missing Link, and at this point couldn’t imagine our life without them.

There literally aren’t enough good things to say about how much i love this gym. I was a nervous wreck when i walked into Missing Link a on a Tuesday evening last year with my husband; I didn’t know a thing about CrossFit and was so scared I’d embarrass myself. Mere saw me and noticed how shook i was and calmed me down, she reassured me that I’d be fine and I’d enjoy the class, she also told me how much CrossFit changed her life. I went through with the free class and went back the next night with my husband’s encouragement to commit to a membership and I’m so glad i did. Everyone at this gym is amazing, i never feel judged or looked down on. The coaches and members are super supportive and offer motivation every step of the way. I’ve never witnessed as much support as i do at the end of a WOD and everyone’s shouting for you to keep going. The 9:30 class i go to is full of bada$$, strong mamas (and their littles) who give their all and let others know they’re doing a great job Casey is super chill and gives good vibes every time, he pushes me when i feel like quitting and never lets me lowball myself. I’ve only been a member for a year and 9 of those months i was pregnant but I’ve gained so much strength and wisdom. The crew also knows i have bad social anxiety and they encourage me to interact with the other classmates and participate in activities outside of the gym that they host for the community. I can’t wait til I’m cleared to workout again because i miss the crew from my 9:30 class. Everyone should give this place a try, I’m sure they’ll all love it. Seriously love you all.

And into a new CrossFit box is even more intimidating. I had been out of the CrossFit environment for about 4 years and had been researching local CrossFit locations. Missing Link is the one I opted for. From the initial communication via Facebook to my first class it was consistently positive and exciting. Can’t say enough about the owners Casey and Mere—so incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to explain things in terms that i can understand. So I am actually a member of their sister gym - CrossFit Emerald Isle - and I've seen Mere put a couple of her programs out and really wanted to try one. I honestly had no expectations, just wanted to do something different and shock my body out of this plateau I've hit. Well. Shock my body is exactly what I got. I am beyond impressed with her programming - it's challenging but still fun (most of the time haha) and the results/progress are literally almost instant. You can tell that each and every movement from the warmup to the WOD is thoughtfully and carefully planned out - nothing about what she does is arbitrary. I'm five weeks into an eight week program and I am significantly stronger, my pants fit better, I'm sleeping better, and I just overall feel great! Even though the program is online, Mere is very good with keeping communications open and holding us accountable. She is amazing to work with and I will 100% be purchasing more programming from her!

I LOVE this gym!! This is my first CrossFit gym experience and I’m so glad it’s with the people at Missing Link! The coaches are all super helpful and knowledgeable about each movement; they can easily pinpoint and verbalize constructive feedback to fix your technique. The environment is great; people are super friendly and very encouraging. And you have all the equipment you could need! All in all, I would recommend starting up at this gym for anyone from first time gym-goers, to really intense lifters and cross-fitters, and those in between. You will improve, you will stronger, and you’ll get a great workout every time!

I’ve been doing crossfit for two years now, roughly. I feel like I’m finally able to work on improving and actually understand what I’m doing because of the coaching and experiences I’ve learned in my time with Missing Link. Thank you Coach Sasquatches!

I have done classes and personal training with Missing Link. The coaches are great. The atmosphere is inviting and a great new space! They are very kid friendly for moms who want to workout but don't have childcare. Meredith is helping me achieve a personal goal and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her coaching. She is inspirational and so positive and passionate about her work. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to get in to the Crossfit style exercise.

The head instructor played on his phone instead of coaching me. There was "girl" equipment and "manly" equipment. As a teacher, interaction with students is vital! This really bothered me. Engaging is key. Familia is so important! The female trainer looked and acted totally loving and caring and professional and motivated and inspirational the ENTIRE time.

I have been doing personal training with Meredith for a few weeks now and I am so pleased with how everything is going. Meredith is super supportive and motivating, the gym itself is very welcoming and open. Within just a few weeks I have found myself working harder and seeing myself become stronger with weights. I’m excited and motivated to go into my sessions which I never was when working out by myself. Meredith and the team at Missing link are awesome! I’m so glad to have the opportunity to work out at their gym. Highly recommend!!

Walked in a week or two ago. Just had saw some business cards out in town and thought I'd give it a shot. The gym atmosphere is very welcoming, they have a higher than normal female ratio, which was great to see. The coaches here spotted small lifting flaws and addressed them with easy coaching cues. They give you a great workout, that will not entirely gas you to the point of no return. Their workouts make you want to come back for more, along with the coaches, and the members. The coaches also are pretty big on form, which is phenomenal.

I have trained all over the world and this gum is by far one of the best i have been in. The coaches actually know what they are doing. They are professional and they motivate the athletes through out the day. They even goof around alot with the athletes . I can honestly say i have never met a group of athletes that have made every single athlete feel welcome and part of the family. No gym can compete with the comradre that this gym has. THIS GYM IS BY FAR THE BEST GYM IN JACKSONVILLE.

Coming from a former professional athlete= This place is by far the BEST GYM in town... It's a friendly atmosphere where you can bring the kids while you workout. The owners and trainers here are outstanding. The level of fitness, professionalism, credentials, and knowledge in this Crossfit gym ARE SECOND TO NONE!
