I've been training at Momentum Performance for 3 months, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment I walked in, Shane, the owner, made me feel genuinely welcome — the kind of energy that makes you want to come back. The atmosphere is positive, supportive, and truly focused on helping people grow, no matter their fitness level.
I work with Tyler as my trainer, and he is exceptional! He creates smart, effective workouts that he switches up every few weeks which keeps me highly engaged. He knows exactly when to push me and when to listen to my body if I am running low on energy. I have hit some personal records by training with him. Thanks to him, I have been more consistent with training than I ever have before — and that says a lot.
Additionally, there are some really great folks here, and the camaraderie adds so much to the experience. It creates an encouraging environment that keeps you motivated and makes showing up that much easier.
If you’re looking for a place that motivates you, challenges you, and truly cares about your progress, I can’t recommend this place enough. Go check them out — you’ll be glad you did.

Training with Shane for the past year has been the best thing that I have done for myself both physically and mentally. After years of injury Shane has worked with me using his knowledgeable physical therapy background to help build a stronger foundation to get me back to the athlete that I used to be. I’ve been a member at Momentum Performance for about 6 months and I couldn’t be happier. Shane and Tyler are great trainers that offer a perfectly sized facility outfitted with premium equipment.
Tyler has been my trainer from the beginning and has helped me achieve my goals with customized plans for use during our 1:1 training sessions as well as my solo training. If you are considering personal training as a beginning or been a long time fitness enthusiast and looking for a change, these guys provide the best value in the LKN / Huntersville area.

Personalized training style like no other! I had the privilege of taking a strength conditioning class here the other day and absolutely loved it! The trainer, Shane, was incredibly knowledgable, personable, provided constructive criticism and coaching techniques to ensure good form and avoid any injury while lifting, and made me feel very welcome. My workout and the weights/equipment utilized were all attuned to my capabilities spot on. Although sore the next day, I left that gym knowing I got a great workout by a great person. Was very appreciative of the time and attentiveness that was given to me. Props to Shane and this amazing space. Would highly recommend Momentum Performance!

After a year and a half of "unfortunate events" including illness, surgeries, and major life changes, my postmenopausal body had become weak, fragile, and injury prone. I thought I was too old to fully recover or build muscle. My physical therapist suggested I give Shane at Momentum Performance a call.
I felt intimidated due to age and no weight lifting experience, but Shane immediately calmed my fears. He understood my limitations and created a personalized plan.
Not only does Shane have SO MUCH knowledge in regards to personal training, but a gift for encouraging and knowing how much to push. Within seven months, he got this 65 year-old woman in the best shape of her life! I'm feeling fit and others are commenting on my new found muscles! I never thought I'd say this, but I'm hooked. My wife and I have been training with Shane and Kym at Momentum Performance for more than a year and it has been a game-changer! They customize training plans that work the full body and change it up every few weeks, which makes the workout fun and breaks the monotony of doing the same exercises over and over again, as I did in the past when my workouts were self-directed.
Plus, they are both great people who care about their clients. It's like Cheers when you walk into their gym. A small community that we look forward to seeing a couple of times a week. I would highly recommend their training!

I’ve had several personal trainers over the past 14 years and my experience at Momentum Performance has far exceeded my expectations. I’ve gained muscle mass and strength as well as reduced body fat percentage. Kym does an excellent job in designing workouts that address my specific goals and needs and is skilled at encouraging me to work harder. Shane is also very attentive to clients and always offers encouragement. They are the absolute best!!

I have always enjoyed exercise but after recuperating from a bad shoulder injury I was hesitant to start again. I was worried about reinjury. I loved the idea of working with a personal trainer that also was a physical therapist. Shane created workouts that were just right for me and kept me from future injury. I started training with Shane earlier this year when I was specifically looking for someone to help me with form and gain confidence in the gym. However, I have made so much progress and enjoy my training sessions so much it has become a non-negotiable for me. The gym itself is always incredibly clean with a very welcoming atmosphere. Shane is exactly what I was looking for in a trainer, he pushes me hard but has the education and background to understand the physiology and he prioritizes function and long term sustainability. He listened to my goals and set a plan that had me not only reach them but continue pushing to get even stronger. In addition to all that he is just a really great guy! Tyler is by far the best fitness coach and personal trainer I’ve ever had. He is passionate about what he does and about making sure that you succeed in your fitness journey. He goes above and beyond to make every session fun while still challenging you and keeping safety in mind. I came to Tyler after years of no regular exercise and lack of motivation. Within weeks I started feeling more energized and found myself looking forward to every workout. My overall health has improved and Im excited to see where my fitness and health journeys take me in the future.

I met Shane Hellman in Nov '21 while recovering from a very bad knee injury. The first day he worked with me in physical therapy and I found out he was dually a personal trainer, I knew I wanted to stick with him for life! His coaching and variety of exercises during therapy were completely unique to him and challenged me in exactly the ways I needed to be challenged to improve. Staying with him paid off!! His combined expertise, knowledge and personable approach as a physical therapist/personal trainer provided everything I needed to not only successfully recover from my injury with NO surgery 🙌🙏 but I'm now lifting more weight than I ever have in my entire life both legs and arms 💪 ... And believe me when I say I had ZERO upper body strength my whole life lol now as a girl I'm lifting 50lb flat bench dumbbell press!!! 🤯 I dunno who's arms these are anymore lol I have always been athletic but never had weightlifting help in the gym. His guidance helped me achieve the fittest body I could've imagined on my wedding/honeymoon a few months ago. I lost over 20lbs and have more toned muscle than ever before. Especially when I stay on top of my clean eating, I'm still amazed at how many compliments I get from others about how fit I am... I've never had 'fit' comments before, only my husband has, and I love now being included! Haha If you are trying to find your new path to strength and fitness, Shane is the perfect solution, you'll never have to search for a new trainer again. I made a commitment to work on my health after being diagnosed with arthritis. I was going to fight this aging thing kicking and screaming. After trying several group exercise programs, I knew I needed a personalized approach to my workout routine. I wanted to make sure my goals of building strength and flexibility were prioritized in a safe way. I was referred to Shane Hellman at Momentum and my experience with him and his business have been outstanding from the very first phone call. I called to get information and he called me back! The same day! I own a service-based business so I understand and practice a high level of customer service. In our current environment, responsive customer service is very different than in the past. Shane’s responsiveness gave me confidence that he cared about his clients (existing and potential) and his knowledge of physical training and his skill as a physical therapist was the perfect combination that I needed. From the first workout, he demonstrated a holistic approach to helping me with my goals. The facility is top notch and utilizes the modern equipment needed for anyone’s training goals. But above all of that is the commitment he has to helping me achieve my goals. All those things are the reason to start working with Shane but it is his attitude, his knowledge and his amazing support that keeps me coming back. He and his company are committed to making you feel like you are the only client he has. After 3 months, I have lost 12lbs, gained muscle, strength and flexibility and feel better. I highly recommend Momentum and Shane Hellman.

Working out with Shane and Kim has been a blast, they are very personable and fun to be around! I’ve been working out here for several months now and have made great progress. I’ve surpassed my weight loss goals and am continuing to get stronger. When I first started I had minimal experience working out and they did a great job at moving me along at my own pace. The gym has new equipment and provides a family like atmosphere. Whether your looking for a new gym or just getting started I would highly recommend Momentum Performance.

I’ve been with Shane and his training program for 6 months now and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve seen tremendous results in muscle gain and weight loss. Most importantly, I feel amazing in my daily life. I sleep better and am in a good mind set every day I step foot into this gym.
The equipment/space is new and amazing! The people are all amazing as well. Workouts are hard, rewarding, and customizable.

I started with Shane in late November. After trying several "bootcamp" style gyms, I finally found my home. Shane does a great job with getting to know you as a person and understanding your goals. The space is awesome too! All the equipment you need, good music, and good vibes.
The workouts are tailored and challenging, but have help me achieve several goals in the 3 months. One of the best things about this place, is that I actually enjoy going to the gym now. Never thought I'd say that.... lol.

I’ve been with Shane for over a year. I’m a hyper competitive person that’s very results oriented, and Shane has delivered. I’ve added 20lbs of lean mass and my compound lifts have shot up. Another important aspect is Shane focuses on form and doing the lifts correctly. As a DPT he keeps you out of trouble, and on the occasions I over step - he’s always able to get my body right.
