Update: got a call from someone from the gym. They apologized for the inconvenience and canceled my membership. Very professional and apparently they are changing their policies as well. Upgraded to 4 stars.

Original: Moved to high Point and they refuse to cancel my membership. Saying that they have a 50 mile policy. Any one willing to drive 50 mile just to go to that gym is stupid. Its tiny, cramped, and the staff sucks. The equipment is old and outdated.

Nautilus Fitness has the largest selection of high quality machines here in Asheboro, and a friendly staff. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and always willing to answer any questions or provide guidance.

One of my favorite things about Nautilus Fitness is the free classes that are offered in the Cardio room - they're a great way to switch up your workout routine and try something new. They have the schedule on display easily too to see what's being offered that week.

It's also a available as a 24/7 gym for members only, making it feels both convenient for my schedule and safe.

I was a member at Nautilus for over a year until the pandemic hit, and gyms were forced to shut down. After the initial two months, Scott decided to open his business against state regulations, and attempted to charge my account for four consecutive months during the time he was legally supposed to be closed. Fortunately, I had a fraud alert through my bank account around the same time, so the charges were blocked and I was sent a new debit card. I received two phone calls from staff members about the initial missed payments, and explained both times that I did not plan on coming in until gyms were legally opened, and I would resume my membership after that when I could come in person to handle it. Both times I was told that it was no issue. However, at the beginning of September, I received a letter in the mail reporting that Nautilus had turned my account over to collections. When I talked to Scott in person about the issue, he was incredibly inconsiderate and unapologetic. While he did pull my account out of collections and removed the charges, he was very demeaning in his remarks that he “will get his money one way or another” while referring to the membership contract which requires a 60 day notice for cancellation. I have no problem with the contract or cancellation requirements, as those are typical with most gyms... however the manner in which he handled himself was completely unprofessional. I love supporting local small businesses owners, and would have been happy to continue my membership with Nautilus had I not been treated so poorly. Unfortunately, Scott has lost my business and my respect.

This place has the best customer service! I’m working remotely in the area over the next year and wanted to find a gym that I was comfortable working out in during the pandemic. I called around to a few places in Asheboro, but the customer service was less than stellar (borderline rude and definitely uninterested in securing new members). When I called Nautilus, I was really impressed with Angie; she was very nice and extremely accommodating. I went that day and joined on the spot with my mom. The gym is limited to a maximum of 50 people and 45 min workouts during the pandemic. They’ve also blocked off every other piece of exercise equipment to maintain social distancing. Needless to say, I feel comfortable working out there and also grateful for how nice Angie was. I highly recommend giving this gym a try!

Great staff and great equipment --- but my favorite part of the gym are the classes they have -- especially kettle bells. Super instructors make these classes --- fun and challenging . I have always struggled with going to the gym mainly because I didn't like being the new person working out and surrounded by all the really "fit" people. Nautilus is the first gym I went to and felt comfortable. Everyone there is there to achieve the same goal and there are always super helpful people who don't mind giving you a little guidance if you need it. It's very affordable and has childcare available in the morning and afternoons. I love this gym and recommend it to everyone!

This gym is absolutely AMAZING. Best gym in asheboro. I’ve lived in asheboro my whole life and I’ve been active since 16. I’m now 21 & I’ve gone to almost every gym around. I would and cannot imagine moving gyms! Nautilus will always be my go to! The gym is very clean, there’s a lot of cardio machines for those who enjoy cardio, and the best weight machines ever. There’s even a hip thrust machine! The staff here is so friendly! Kailey, Angie, Scott, Kengi, Elijah and Samuel are all very friendly and polite! The nursery hours are also the most convenient ever. I seen some crazy negative comments but we all sign a contract and if you don’t agree to it, then why sign it in the first place, right?

I wanted to cancel my membership because I longer live in the area. I was told that I would have to drive over an hour away to cancel in person. That is a long way to drive when I can cancel over the phone or have the proper documents transferred via email. They are letting greed get in the way of delivering good customer service. If I am ever in the area of another Nautilus gym, I am not going to even come close to entertaining the idea of joining their gym. If you do not want to sign a contract with a shady gym, go down the street to Workout Anytime. The facility is a lot nicer and you can cancel anytime. Plus, the scenery is a lot better.

After much deliberation, the owner was willing to let me cancel my membership without having to drive 30 minutes to show up in person, but it should not have had to come down to that. In a digital age, people should not have to jump through those hoops. Hell, I can open a bank account online without having to show up personally. I always say treat people the way you want to be treated.

Nautilus is my go-to gym when I need a good all around workout. It's never too crowded and has plenty of machines and weights to go around. But most of all, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. When I started going to the gym it was to keep myself in shape physically, but as I've gotten to know some of the people who work there and are regulars, I am excited to go just to see people I know will put a smile on my face and inspire me to keep doing more and push myself further!

My son came up to me and asked if he could join a gym. I looked up gyms around my area and Nautilus was the nearest to us. I called and Zach answered the phone. I had him on the phone at least for 15 minutes, my son is only 14 so I did had a lot of questions about the gym,policies Etc. He was very friendly and answered all my questions. I enrolled my son and he liked it since day one. Best gym I've been to in town. Great equipment, good sized place. They are open 24/7 even though I don't think it says it on Google but they are. Friendly, helpful staff members. They have a big room full of kettlebells and dynamex balls and battleropes that I love for HIIT style workouts. Lots of free weights. Amazing selection of updated nautilus equiptment and some of the old school machines (which I actually really like). They have childcare and a smoothie bar. A great deal for $20 a month. And no sign up fees. Definitely recommend this gym to anyone that is serious about getting in shape. Even if you're someone who just wants to do some cardio, they have plenty of those machines too.
