Love coming to the pool and that you keep it open through September. It would be nice to keep the patio area open to sit in the sun during the winter so we can continue to catch vitamin D on the warmer days. Cover the pool if needed but let us continue to enjoy the sunshine 🌞. Also thinking maybe more senior activities for those ages 50 and up. Maybe even a senior club would be nice. Just some thoughts. Pool inside is cold but I hear you heat it in the winter. Can’t wait to try it then.

I’ve never been greeted or even spoken to by most of the staff. They seem very disinterested. Also, children routinely misbehave and break rules at pool with no supervision and/or consequences. It’s a 4 foot indoor pool. Kids canonballing into it and running on the deck are just accidents waiting to happen. It would be really nice if we could exercise in the indoor pool without watching elderly folks get splashed by disrespectful children while their minders (if present) do nothing and the staff couldn’t care less.

Working out there is great, all the equipment you could ask for, but don't count on being able to use the BASKETBALL court for BASKETBALL. From the martial arts classes held on the court to the older members of the gym commandeering the courts for pickle ball despite the courts being used by others, not a great gym to pay for if you plan to play or practice basketball.

I love Mount Airy Crossfit! Their equipment is top of the line and the facility includes an indoor and outdoor pool and indoor track. Katlin amazes me in her knowledge, commitment, and professionalism towards Crossfit. You get the most out of every class as it is broken down into warm up, strength, and WOD. Class starts and ends on time. MACF members all have different backgrounds and levels of experience. I started not able to jump on a box. It is such such gift being able to watch people, including myself grow and transform our perspetions of what we are physically capable of. I am very blessed to be part of this growing program.

Facility seems personable but when you walk into the front of the gym and beyond, it feels like you have walked into a 1980's YMCA. Equipment is outdated. Pool area is very dark and muggy. Not a great feeling going into this facility.
They do have a lot of extra curricular classes that are not offered at other locations here in Mt. Airy.

Great location. Great staff. Lots of machines. Business discounts for memberships, family or single memberships, or just pay as you go. They offer personal trainer also. There are different fitness classes. You should check it out. I think it still a little high for low income families. You also have the advantage of having your own personal pharmacy at hand, along with health care facilities. Hope you don't need the healthcare but if you do need a doctor, there is several there that can help you.

My wife has been dealing with heart irregularities for over a year now. She had one Dr tell her that the meds she was on was weight based and she was taking too much to just cut her pills in half. So we did until we found out sometime later you can't cut meds or pills in half unless they are scored. Her pills we're not supposed to be cut in half like the Dr told her. Now after an episode were she had to be taken to the Dr she is back up on the mg and she wore a heart monitor for almost two weeks. When she went in for the results of the monitor she was told they saw nothing out of the ordinary but thing is she is still experiencing heart irregularities. This place has a broad range of Drs some will give u a RX for almost anything and some will just come in and say ur ok bye.

I have been going to this gym for 4 years straight until this week. For the last two years the facility's equipment has been wearing out with no replacement equipment being ordered. In February 2017 nine of eleven treadmills were out of service. The manager would put decals with a date of expected repair on them only to replace the decals with a new date when the repairs were not made. Eventually they were fixed but they still fail regularly. The treadmills are 8 to 9 years old, hardly the cutting edge equipment that is advertised on the website. The tv's in front of the treadmill work most of the time with the exception of one which always stays frozen. The sound equipment you use to listen to the tv is almost always in a state of disrepair and on one tv that has ESPN you can't ever listen to. This has been this way for four years. Several good employees have quit because of the ever changing whims of the manager. These are good people who I consider friends but because the manager has a his way or the highway attitude this gym has suffered. His efforts to hold down expenditures include being cold in the winter and burning up in the summer because he feels there is a optimum temperature that you can work out in. He has posted lists at each free weight machine instructing members how many plates can be stored at a particular machine while leaving other free weight machine empty of spare weights. This means you have to go to one free weight machine, get the plates and carry them to the machine you want to use. Then reverse the process when you are done. It is really silly when all free weight machines have areas for the plates to be stored. This gym used to be the only one in Mount Airy to go to, but I have found that there are better gyms with ultra modern equipment with a lower price being offered. The one reason I have waited to leave is that I literally live only four tenths of a mile from this place and it was convenient for me to go there.
