Love this Orangetheory location! We've gotten to know the coaches really well, and they make an effort to learn our names and motivate us in ways that aren't pushy. My wife and I have been able to sustainably work out here without getting tired of the workouts, which has been huge for us. Also, haven't had to deal with waitlists here, which is a big plus over the OTF studios from our hometown.

OTF is an awesome place to work out. The classes change every day so your body can't get used to the same routine.
The coaches offer modifications and correct your form if needed. The OTF community is supportive and welcoming. The support staff is helpful and appreciated. I cannot say enough good things about them. This is one of my favorite places to spend my time!!!

I have been thinking about this for a few days now, what could I possibly say that would express just how much I absolutely love OTF South Wilmington? I still remember my very first class like it was yesterday and now I am closing in on my 800th. This gym, the team members, and the people who go and sweat are all so amazing! I have never experienced a gym like this ever. Everyone a part of OTF are all the reasons I show up every day. The coaches and front desk team members are the best of the best. The OTF community at South Wilmy is, simply put, incredible! I was never good about being consistent with working out but now I canβt wait to get my workout on! OTF has truly transformed my life.

I love the workouts at Orange Theory Fitness.Β For one hour, donβt have to think much.Β There is a qualified and trained coach there to tell me what to do and to make sure I am doing the exercises correctly.Β There is the treadmill, rower and weights.Β All muscles are worked.Β Learning all the time.Β Have been a member for years and the coaches are always offering knowledge to assist us get the best possible workout. The OTF Wilmington studio is one of my favorite in the country (having been to over 25). The largest reason is because of the coaches and the team. There is a culture of positivity, encouragement and everyone is passionate about what they do at OTF! You've never tried Orangetheory Fitness? What is stopping you?! I highly recommend taking your first free class at the Orangetheory Mayfair location. If you're looking to change up your workout routine, try something new, or just build relationships with likeminded individuals, this Orangetheory location is definitely right for you.
From the friendly front desk staff to the inspiring coaches, you really get a full experience at this studio. The equipment is well maintained, the studio is sparkling clean, and each workout station is spacious allowing you to feel uncrowded. In these workouts, you're constantly challenged and given the instructions for proper form. If there is a particular movement that doesn't feel right or you have any type of orthopedic issues, the coaches will help guide you through another movement. Additionally, people have hesitations regarding the cardio portion performed on the treadmill. Each treadmill portion is tailored for either power-walking, jogging, or running. You take this at your own pace and gradually build your strength, endurance, and power. I will often switch between power-walking and running, depending on how I feel that day.
Overall, this studio is a great place to take a class if you're curious and to sign up for a membership if you're looking to crush your workout goals. Their staff is extremely friendly and care deeply for their members. You don't feel like a number, you're family and part of the experience that makes Orangetheory so incredible. Why wait? I reached directly out to Monica Ruzza. I needed to cancel my unused membership and see if there is any way to get some form of reimbursement. I went through a horrible, traumatic life event. This membership was put on a credit card and with everything going on, have just looked at my statements and just realized all the charges from Orange Theory. I apologized for any inconveniences, but I would have appreciated anything she could have done for me. I had to quit my job due to the trauma and not doing well money wise. I guess the gym is okay, but if you are going through a horrible time in your life donβt expect them to have sympathy. Over one thousand dollars wasted.

THE AWESOME:- Structured class format w/ a great balance of strength, cardio & high intensity interval training for results I couldn't achieve on my own. Metrics displayed during class & tracked daily/weekly/mthly/yearly.-- Benchmark exercises for measuring progress- Wide variety of class times including 5am M-F. - Great coaching and administrative staff.
*Only fitness regimen I've enthusiastically participated in this long (> 5yrs).. Have no doubt these workouts have been significant in improving annual physical labs.
THE CHALLENGING
- Expensive at $169/month (premier plan) - loyal members deserve a discounted rate i.e. charter rate of $149. As great as OTF is, often debate pursuing cheaper options. Promotional $ goes toward gaining new members vs maintaining loyal long time members.
- referred a friend who became a member at 1412 Barclay Point Wilmington from their grand opening. This friend gave my name as her referral and was told my rate would decrease to the $149 charter rate. She brought it up several times but never happened... concluded due to my membership at a different location.

Like a lot of people, I tried gyms like Planet Fitness and O2 with middling results. I got into OrangeTheory a couple years ago and it's truly been a great experience. The Mayfaire studio has a wonderful, friendly staff as well as hands-on coaches who aren't afraid to help when I'm struggling to figure out an exercise (which is often lol). Give them a try, I highly recommend it!

Love the workouts/coaches - Iβve been to at probably around 8 different orange theories but have been in Wilmington a lot this past year so I frequent this location. Recently had the displeasure of interacting with their manager Miley (a younger blonde girl) who is very unprofessional towards her staff and overall rude. Professionalism goes a long way and how a manager talks to her staff, especially in front of members, speaks volumes.

Orangetheory Wilmington helped me love exercise again! I have never felt as welcome as I do here. OTF workouts are by far more challenging and fun than anywhere else Iβve ever tried. The feedback from wearing a heart rate monitor is an excellent drive to keep pushing yourself harder. The coaches are always helpful, providing feedback, encouragement, and making you feel welcome. Iβve never been anywhere else where all the staff and coaches remember every single membersβ name! Itβs wild!
If you are thinking about trying itβ¦go for it! As someone who use to be fairly gym adverse after having three children, I now look forward to my early mornings at OTF. One of the other MANY reasons I love this place is that it can be scaled to any fitness level. I was 6 weeks postpartum after my third baby and years away from a gym when I joined. And my husband who was a committed CrossFit fanatic left his gym to come to OTF Mayfaire after his first class!

I love Orangetheory Mayfaire for many reasons. First of all, the moment I arrive I am greeted with a smiling face. It is obvious the staff really love their job. Also, the environment is upbeat and the workout is always different so boredom is never a factor! It is as challenging as you make it. All the coaches are motivating and inspiring. They are supportive and will offer assistance in the weight room on proper technique which I really appreciate. I have knee issues so the option to work out on the elliptical rather than the treadmill is a key factor in getting my heart rate up that is also low impact. There are stationary bikes as another alternative. Finally, I love being able to see my orange and red zones which motivates me to keep pushing or when to take it easy. I would rate this workout as not only the best in Wilmington but also a place with the friendliest staff.

After struggling through the last year of various at-home workouts (or attempts to workout), OTF is just what I needed to get my fitness goals back on track. Before my first class I was intimidated by the idea of an OTF workout, but OTF is very inclusive - there are people of all ages and fitness levels in each class. The workouts can be tailored to any fitness level and the coaches are always ready to address individual needs or concerns. I continue to be impressed by the variation in workouts. The OTF program incorporates challenges and benchmarks, which are great tools for assessing individual growth.
The coaches and staff at Mayfaire are great. The coaches give tips to improve form, and know when to push you to that next level. The staff have been helpful with all of my questions and quickly addressed any issues with scheduling, etc. It says a lot when coaches and staff know most members by name!

Prior to covid: this place was awesome, as a retired athlete, the coaches have been very accommodating and helpful! I have βenjoyedβ every workout Iβve done here.
Covid: I feel very safe despite covid looming in the shadows of life... the gym staff are taking all the right precautions as well as cleaning standards and rotation safety.
Itβs a totally judgement free zone, everyone is super supportive! Donβt understand a workout or your stats? They will explain everything to you!

I am also blown away with how they have handled COVID-19. I feel safe there every time I go to work out. If you want a really nice workout where you do not need to think what part of the body or how often to do anything- Orangetheory Fitness is for you. The Coaches are absolutely awesome. You will find none better than Coach Olivia Smith. She is fun and full of motivation. If you feel something is too hard to do, she will quickly show you an alternate solution and work you up from there. Olivia is always checking your form to make sure you are not causing injury to yourself. Thanks Coach Olivia. Coach Drew and Coach Erica are also very awesome but new to me. Ive been going to Orangetheory for years and it is hands down the only fitness regime Iβve been able to consistently stick with. OTF in Mayfair is an awesome studio and coach Drew is a great representation of the brand. He supports you throughout the workouts and corrects your form to make sure your getting the most out of the workout without hurting yourself.
The studio has gone so far above and beyond as far as cleanliness standards in order to be able to reopen after the height of COVID. The classes are smaller to allow for social distancing (and more personal instruction) and masks are worn during transitions . I have never felt uncomfortable or concerned during a workout and in fact, getting regular workouts in has really helped to improve my mood during this truly depressing year.

For a first class at Orange Theory, I found myself challenged and motivated by those around me, and especially the coach of the class, Erica Davis. Her engagement and encouragement kept me on track for a quality and fun workout. A lot of the things we did in the class were new to me, but Erica broke them down to me on a level where I could understand and didn't feel overwhelmed. She was able to keep up a highly energetic atmosphere throughout the whole session while keeping everyone focused and determined to work hard.
I recommend Orange Theory (and specifically Erica!) for anyone looking to get some good exercise and a challenge.

I have been a member at OTF since 2016. It is "addictive" in a good way and I love not knowing what the workout is going to be when I walk in. They are always varied and always challenging. You will NEVER see the same one twice. I also love the atmosphere, the staff is SUPER friendly and helpful and the vibe is very positive and not at all competitive. I love that it's a One Stop Shop and I get everything done in an hour. I love the fact that I lose the class if I don't use it because I would be so good at making excuses why I should not go to class in the morning. I love that the coaches meet us where we're at regarding injuries. I signed up and have been to 3 classes this week. This place is amazing. Drew is a fantastic coach. The other participants are super friendly and helpful. There is no judgement here. The assistant manager is amazing as well. The only competition is against yourself. No workout has been the same. I really loved working out with one of the coaches at this orange theory. After going everyday for a month, I did see results! Unfortunately, I had lots of issues with billing...being double billed etc. This happened several times and was very frustrating, as the membership is a major financial investment. I would encourage every member to make COPIES OF EVERYTHING YOU SIGN. Otherwise, this is an entertaining, fast paced workout that makes you really sweat!

I like the fact that I donβt have to decide what exercises to do. There is coach to tell you if you are doing exercises incorrectly. There is accountability because if you donβt show up you have to pay. I am motivated to compete with myself and others are watching my heart rate zone. The one frustrating thing is that my watch doesnβt always work and I will be busting my tail and I look and it says Iβm in the "gray" zone so that is a little discouraging but I donβt know what to do about it. All in all, it is an awesome workout. I typically burn around 500 calories in the 55 minute time.

My wife and I started OTF in April this year and thoroughly enjoy the workout sessions, trainers, and overall approach behind OTF. I like the environment, venue, and workout format which for whatever reason motivates my wife and I to push through uncomfortable limits almost every session even when not at 100%. Working out in the upper heart rate range undoubtedly has improved our fitness, energy level and confidence. This is coming from two 50 + year olds w/ above avg BMI'S!

My fave part are the coaches. Katie and Drew are the best! At first I was intimidated but then I saw all shapes and sizes and fitness levels. I appreciate that the coaches push me. Because if I'm being honest with myself, I'm going to work out at my own comfort level and I won't get any stronger. I like that the classes are different every day. I'm never bored, that's for sure. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm addicted!

At first glance an Orangetheory workout is amazing; you have fun doing it and feel accomplished at the end of an hour. I enjoyed my first class so much that I was ready to commit to a class package when I was through.
The Orangetheory rep who signed me up for my class package was friendly, however left out key information about purchasing (or renting) the heart rate monitor for tracking your progress* in class. This omission caused frustration when I showed up for my second class and found out I had to buy a heart rate monitor (the option to rent wasn't mentioned, yet again).
All in all, a good work out, but the lack of transparency on all of the costs associated with enrolling and failure to disclose all of the options for participating was deceitful and misleading. I am hesitant to recommend this workout to another person as a result.
*It should be noted that you don't even need to have a monitor to participate, this was also left out

I loved how nice the club members were when I had my first session. I didn't feel like people were looking at me/my stats in a negative way. Drew in Wilmington, NC was funny, supportive & helpful! You have to be a certain personality level to be friendly and helpful so early in the morning and Drew and this group had it! I was afraid to try OTF because of the cost, but it's exactly what I've been needing and wanting. How could I say no? The work outs are challenging, but not half as confusing as some other group fitness classes in gyms where you follow an instructor through 30 different things. Clean, beautiful, spunky/happy place! You can zone out & get thru an hour and feel fantastic! The stretches at the end were also helpful, too, I often forget stretching. I'm 5'5, 195 lbs & of intermediate fitness ability. Capable (though a bit lacking in great coordination) but never consistent, so really anyone, of any ability can do/try Orange Theory!! The class times are great, too!!

The coach Amie was really attentive to it being my first time in a gym & helping me get the routine; the environment of folks working out wasn't competitive or judgmental but supportive, friendly; the equipment was clean; the music was great! I'm not a gym person and Orange Theory was a very different experience and I'm sticking with it!
