Pain & Gain is hands down the best warehouse-style gym in the area! The atmosphere is top-notch, with a strong sense of community that’s both welcoming and motivating. Whether you’re a seasoned lifter or just starting out, you’ll feel right at home here. The equipment is excellent, and the overall vibe pushes you to train harder and stay consistent. Highly recommend!

Hands-down the best open gym I've been to in WNC! Excellent vibe, comprehensive equipment, clean but everything looks like it gets good use. Wish the owners would open one north of Asheville!!

This winter, Asheville Rugby began team workouts at Pain & Gain. The gym set-up is great, all the equipment you need and more to get fit, stay fit, and push yourself to new fitness highs. The staff is excellent and knowledgeable. Mike B. led us through a solid workout session. I look forward to returning each week as we prepare for our season. Pain now for gain later!

This gym is 10/10. I contacted the owner (Mike) about dropping in over the holidays not knowing exactly what our schedule would be like. We paid the reasonable drop-in fee and were granted 24 hr access to the gym with all of the great equipment. The gym has a great vibe and the equipment selection is excellent. I would definitely recommend checking this gym out.

Just joined not too long ago and absolutely love it. A traditional old school gym that has everything you need. Lots of places to put personal goals and show you hit them.

Real gym, real people, real results! Can’t say enough good things about this place.
The owners have built a welcoming environment with daily programming that’s sensible enough to suit every level of fitness and desired outcome. The facilities are excellent - no nonsense essentials to building a great strength foundation. The classes have easy-to-talk-to people, are just the right size, and even have a dedicated trainer to assist with maintaining the right form.
After simply following the programming 3/4 days a week for six months, Pain and Gain has helped me drop several percentage points of body fat as well as lower my cholesterol levels by over 50 points. They know what they’re talking about!
A gym with a culture this great is hard to find. Would give 10 stars if the limit went that high!

Pain and Gain brings community and care together with an excellent facility to make strength training fun. I look forward to going every morning and I know Mike will be ready with helpful advice, a joke, or some new protein shake concoction he has dreamed up. I always feel welcome, but also know that I won’t be able to give in to my laziness. As the Governator says, they’re gonna PUMP YOU UP 💪

Pain and Gain is an awesome gym! The owners have been so helpful with getting my membership set up, and they are always available for any questions I have. It is a great place to train and prepare for my college softball season, and the flexible hours and 24/7 access make it easy to get a work out in whenever it fits with my schedule.
