My child has been part of Carolina Thunder for four years, and the experience has been incredible. The coaches are amazing—supportive, involved, and truly invested in every athlete’s success. Over the years, my daughter has grown tremendously in both her confidence and her skills. Carolina Thunder feels like an extended family, and we’re so grateful to be part of this program.

DO NOT JOIN! Owner is a mess and if you read the comments back she’s very unprofessional! I hated every moment of our experience.

I don’t recommend the recreational classes here. They only care about the cheer team here. There always a lot going on and it’s hard for the new kids to find their classes. The coaches don’t come out to get the kids. I mentioned this and was told they only come out for the little kids the older kids know where to go. My daughter is 9 not sure how she is expected to know which is her coach in a group of unknown adults that none asked her where she need to go. She said she was overwhelmed and didn’t want to go up and randomly ask someone. The lady at the front said she would help but she after she finished signing someone up, just seems unorganized. If your looking for a tumble class there are definitely better ran places then this one, overall just messy and unorganized.

Recently signed my daughter up for summer camp and she LOVED it, so much so we are enrolling her in another week of camp. The counselors and staff are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place!

I was disappointed with the cleanliness of this gymnastics facility. The equipment and floors didn’t appear to be properly cleaned or maintained, which raises concerns about hygiene and safety. As a place where children and adults are active, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment should be a top priority.
While the staff seemed friendly and the activities offered were decent, the lack of cleanliness overshadowed the experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their cleaning standards. I wouldn’t recommend this place until these issues are addressed.

Open gym Fridays 10-11am $5. Super great time, our kid loves the pit and running trampoline, and everything else! Not too crowded either.

I am the luckiest mom in the world. From the moment my daughter and I stepped foot in the doors of Peak Gymnastics Academy, we knew this was home. I knew my daughter wasn't just a number or a means to make more money. In fact, though we came from a team prior to moving here, the coaches at PGA placed my daughter in recreational to develop some of her deficits first before putting her on a team. We've been with PGA now for 7 years. This is home for us. The care and consideration that comes from the top down in this organization is exactly what I would want for any gymnast and mom (or dad). My daughter is loved here and truly HATES when she's not in the gym. Did I already say that this is home for us. I could go on about how knowledgeable the staff is about necessary skulls and PT for specific injuries but those are things you would expect from a gym. What makes PEAK special is the HEART of its owner, Angie, and her staff. It makes me sad to see my daughter's career coming to an end because that means we have to say good bye soon but I know for sure that we will always have a home here!

I love Peak and the family we have found with the Xcel competition team!! We competed for the first time at the bronze level last year. We were all first time "competition" moms and gymnasts. We immediately connected at the first meet, cheered each other on and created a support network where we made sure our children felt loved, supported and challenged. I'm all about the positive learning kids get from competition and setting goals and working toward those. Sometimes you "win". Sometimes you don't do as well as others. Those are skills that will be needed for life.
What I appreciate most after our first year of competition is the compassion Peak and the coaches have for our girls! They focus on helping each gymnast do their best and FEEL good about their work. That will serve my daughter well for the rest of her life. She LOVES her teammates. They laugh. They work hard. They have fun. I want my child to have a healthy balance of play time at home, working toward her goals in school, and extra curricular activities. I like that she can do all of those with Peak!

My wife and I have tried to contact this academy several times about getting our daughter involved in gymnastics. They have no answered any of our calls even during their work hours. My wife contacted them on Facebook and they told her they would get back to her and never did. She even sent a follow-up message and they saw it, and ignored. Very unprofessional.

Its the small gyms that should get the best love. Good coaching, time well spent learning skills, and they always are putting the kids first in their intentions with progression. One of the best gyms I've been a part of!

My child went to a gymnastics class at Peak gymnastics. At the end of the class, I noticed that my child was standing next to another child who did not have a mask. The child that did not have a mask was paired to work with my child for the entire hour of class. When I spoke to the instructor about it at the end of the class, she stated that the child’s mother simply forgot to bring her a mask. This was disappointing to say the least. I asked why was the child even allowed to enter the class or the gym without the mask as these were all elementary school aged kids. The facility put not only my child and family at risk, but everyone else in the gym. Furthermore, the gymnastics coach will now potentially be exposing kids in the later classes. Lastly, there was absolutely no distancing between the kids during class. This gym may be fine under normal circumstances, however these times are anything but normal and if the gym is to hold indoor classes, they have a responsibility to protect our kids. This gym is at best, irresponsible.

We have been doing cheer at Peak for 3 years and d rec gymnastics for a year prior to cheer. All of the coaches have been great but coach Sammy goes above and beyond to have the girls be their best self. We love our experience at Peak.

My daughter has been going here for over six years first on pre-team, 3 years on the gymnastics team and now she has just started her third year on the All Star Cheerleading Team. All the coaches and staff have been great with her. Peak is like a second family for her.

We’ve been at Peak for 2 years now and I have not been disappointed with my experience. The front office ladies are kind and helpful and the instructors are also nice and competent. We were at Sonshine Gymnastics in Holly Springs previously and it was such a zoo there that Peak is a welcome break- smaller and more intimate and a little bit more laid back.

I don't care for this place at all. Some of the Mom's and kids are extremely snotty and judgemental. I had to pull my daughter from the trampoline and tumbling team.

Toddler Open gym on Wednesdays is amazing, love that they offer this for the littles. My kids love coming here and playing around on the equipment and getting their energy out. They especially enjoy the trampoline, open floor space, rope swing, hanging on the bars, mats, foam pit, and balance beam.

I completely disagree with Patrick. My daughter has been going to this gym since it opened, and we've had nothing but good experiences. Coach Brittany is tough on the team girls, and she doesn't even teach the rec classes. She is strict with the team girls in order to teach them the discipline it takes to become a high-level or elite gymnasts. I definitely wouldn't call it screaming. These girls are in the gym 14-20 hrs a week and they can be stubborn just like anyone else who's tired, and Brittany cares about the girls like they were her own. Correction to technique is a required part of a coach's job, and is necessary to train gymnasts. Her daughter is occasionally there (with a babysitter), but not running AMOK as Patrick claims. And as for the marijuana comment, well...I have to ask, how familiar is Patrick with the smell, and why? All of the coaches at Peak, in my experience have been kind, helpful, and informative. One of the best gyms in the area and a welcome addition to Apex.
