Just deleted my great review from 2 years ago. Idk what happened but the employees that now work here are awful, all of them. They can't be bothered with a question, most of the time they are deep in a cell phone. When asked for info about their wifi password, I didn't even get a grunt, just pointed to a memo sheet taped on their counter. Same thing happened a few weeks later when I asked about holiday hours, just a pointed finger to a sheet on their counter. Mind you they have 100 sheets of paper at any given time on their counter, now I understand it's because they can't speak. Use the Hendersonville gym, they are actually human there

I thank you for your response, but nothing has changed. I go to this location about once a week to shower in between jobs to save me from driving all the way home. It's pretty bad when you tell the same rude guy at the desk to have a nice day, and he can't bother himself to look up from his phone. Your staff knows nothing about customer service or just common courtesy

Went in mid week i usually stop at another location in this area can't believe the difference in the men's shower area I'm a person that is over weight and i like that they have the larger changing area beside the shower this location has no bench only this little chair what is a person that's wider then the chair going to do all other pf location with a changing area like this they have a bench i don't understand! The larger shower only has one shower head and it is a hand held with no mount where you can hang it on the wall so you can get under it smh other location has to shower heads one higher like you have at your home and the hand held with a mount where you can hang it as well finally dk the last time this bathroom has been cleaned cleaned looks like there's mold growing on the shower walls worst experience with pf locations and i travel with work so I've been in multiple!

The facility is clean, well equipped and very spacious. There are 2 of every resistance machine, so it's rare that you need to wait to use something. The cardio equipment is plentiful and everything seems well maintained. The Hydro-massage machines are a great way to relax after. It's hard to beat Planet Fitness for the price!

Planet fitness rates are well below that of other area fitness centers that offer a similar experience and I appreciate the value offered, but I have noticed considerably more personnel turnover that I suspect has to do with other jobs offering better pay and benefits. Despite that, I have noticed a clear improvement over the past year that I believe has occurred because of the new gym manager. Matthew takes the time to listen and responds to reported problems. He always greets members on arrival and I’ve experienced others now doing the same. Since continued turnover still appears to be a problem, I would support a modest increase in membership if it resulted in staff with higher morale and an improvement in employee retention.

My main complaint is the ellipticals are for tall people. I wish they had some smaller ones. That’s the main thing I use to work out and I struggle everytime. It would be nice if there were just a handful of smaller ones. Please keep that in mind :) many short ladies like the ellipticals and when they are made for tall people we struggle to use them. I have tried to cancel my membership both in person and over the phone MULTIPLE times in the past 2 years I keep getting charged when I have not even been in the gym in over 2 years. I was told that my account would be cancelled last time I was in person. It still is charging me and I want my money back for these past 2 years. This is ridiculous.

FIND A DIFFERENT GYM.

My subscription was charged in the middle of the Hurricane Helene disaster in the Asheville area where my home gym is located, and because the location (which would have been very difficult to access with the flooding and extensive tree fall blocking the roads) was supposedly open, they refused to refund my subscription. It was nearly impossible to have canceled my subscription in time because not only was there no electricity, there was also no internet connectivity all that week when I was billed.

Can we please place a stop on all automatic charges to regions that are experiencing disaster rather than profiting off of people who are suffering???

UPDATE: The owner responded with a bid to communicate privately to resolve the issue. I reached out as they requested weeks ago. I have not received a response.

Don't be bought off by their show of face; just because they respond to reviews doesn't mean they have any intention of resolving issues with their customers.

It's a great gym but the floors in the tanning rooms are seriously filthy. Also bathroom floors are gross. There's been the same blobs of dirt in the stalls for at least 2 weeks.
Everyone is super nice but standing around when things could be cleaned. I don't know what the policy is for cleaning the tanning beds but they don't clean them. I definitely always clean my own

My girlfriend and I car camp and use planet fitness to shower and use the bathroom. This is how I KNOW there are soaps being dispensed for the relief effort - in the women's locker room only. This is also how I know they are diligent about cleaning - in the women's locker room only.

If you are a man and you come here, expect to feel disgusting in a bathroom filled with hairs, urine, and feces, that by my own personal tracking hasn't been cleaned ONCE in 24 hours

If you're a woman, expect clean shiny bathrooms, free stuff,and smiling faces.

As of 10/13/24 post hurricane Helene; the hours have changed to reduced hours. My complaint is that neither Google, nor the Planet Fitness app, nor the phone system has the correct times for when the gym is actually open; this is customer service at its most basic level folks!!!! Since the owner can't bother themselves, I guess I will, please see the photo. I wonder when these highly inconvenient hours be lifted since I'm paying for a gym I can't use since I work like most of your customers.

This place has really fallen to crap since I first started coming here a couple years back. Locker room and lockers are constantly filthy with no type of upkeep, ( broken hinges on locker doors,) TVs are regularly screwed up in the cardio section or half of them are all playing the same thing, staffing seems to be a revolving door as there's never consistently the same people at the front desk and management is NONEXISTENT from what I've seen. Definitely considering my other options out there as far as gyms go and SO SHOULD YOU if this is somewhere you're considering getting a membership! Get it together planet fitness!

I wanted to take a minute to leave a 5 star review about Brian, I think he's the supervisor or manager, not entirely sure, but regardless he's on top of his game and I appreciate it. The gym in Arden/Fletcher is always clean and well stocked. I often see him cleaning or doing laps on the floor checking everything, so he gets a thumbs up from me. I have a medically fragile family member at home, so the cleanliness factor puts me at ease.

Sad to see. We’ve been to dozens of Planet fitness across the southeast and this one is run the poorest. As others described handicapped shower changing has no seating area and the other stalls people had removed chairs and put by showers. The machines in Blackspa are dated poorly maintained out of order, tanning beds are filthy and it’s just a run for money barely keeping this place afloat. Integrity is lacking. Location on Hendersonville road in Arden, is a great place to workout , but the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. 2 weeks ago I complained about how dirty the bathrooms were. All I got was blank Expressions. There is so much bacteria growing on the men's Urinal. and as of today. It's worse than it was 2 weeks ago. The sinks are so dirty that there's foreign substance growing in them. The mirrors have the same scum On them that they had 2 weeks ago. As a matter of fact, it's worse today. If you visited this place, I would advise you to avoid the bathrooms at all cost. There is no telling how much bacteria is growing in there. Tried to call the manager, but he's too busy to talk on the phone.

As I have learned recently from having my car stolen, crime is an issue at this gym. Make sure you lock your stuff up tight. The GM was somewhat helpful, but his hands were tied due to corporate policy, from helping me further. The car was recovered quickly, but the guys who stole it were not the ones who were caught with it, so they still go to this gym. Without the corporate roadblocks I absolutely could have found the offenders, so that's why I have downgraded my review to two stars.

Pretty decent gym overall. I could nitpick but for $10 a month it does the trick. I go during a very slow time of the day and still regularly have to wait for equipment. I'm not thrilled with the music. Pretty much everyone there is nice, employees and customers both. It's closest to my house and easily the cheapest so I don't have any thoughts of switching.

**update** I think the gym changed hands in April '24. Things are different. TV's are mostly tuned to the same station, music is generally turned down so low you can barely notice it is on. The staff is 100% different people, mostly older folks it seems. The staff are still friendly-ish, but much quieter. The news says that the membership cost will be going to $15. Still dirt cheap. This increase is sorely needed from a business perspective. I think I'd read that this is the first increase since 1989?! If so, that's crazy. Anyway, the gym is kept up pretty well, the wait times are hit and miss, and sometimes they do weird things like put wet floor sign in the locker room. If you don't just assume the floor will be wet in a locker room, frankly you shouldn't leave the house, but I understand that the same people who vote for Republicans also go to the gym, and they're not the brightest, so here we are.

Fantastic place to work out! I’ve been visiting around midnight while passing through town and really enjoy my time there. The late night staff is great! The guy working the desk around midnight really does superb job of running the place. It’s always clean and well stocked and anytime I’ve needed something from the desk he takes care of it asap with a great attitude. I don’t what Planet Fitness is paying but whatever it is this guy deserves a raise!

This place has gone down hill since corporate took over. They are never open on time. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to leave in the mornings cause no one has shown up to open. Half the machines are broken you have 6 stair steppers and 4 don’t work. The same trash was sitting on a treadmill for 5 days in a row. What is going on?? It’s to the point offered the manager to work weekend mornings just so people could work out her blew me off. Next Saturday I’m there at 7 bright and early no one showed up to open until after 8. It’s frustrating to pay and care for something when the people who own it don’t.

Jamie was fantastic. I went in on May 29th with my brother to sign up for a membership. Jamie was beyond helpful, she answered all of our questions, gave us a tour of the entire gym, she helped us with any concerns, explained all the membership options and plans in detail. Her positive attitude, friendliness and ability to make anyone and everyone welcomed is an amazing quality in Jamie. My brother and I were initially a little hesitant to sign up for a membership, but because of Jamie we decided to do so. I'll recommend Planet Fitness to everyone because of the amazing customer service that Jamie has provided. My brother and I agree we'll happily renew our membership and continue going here. I hope Jamie will receive a raise or at least some sort of recognition as she does a fantastic job at Planet Fitness. I can't recommend Jamie enough!

Image you spray the tile and edges of the floor of a shower and edges to only see it glistening and moving all around like a horror movie. The most creepy crawly moving between the grout of a shower ever seen to date! Hundreds of worms, or whatever parasites that live in and on the floors of all the men's showers. Besides that gym was good and normal tasting water. It's hard to rate it at 3 stars because everything else was normal. So beware if your traveling through, choose a different location? I talked to another traveler and he told me many of the ones in the area are like this but that's just word of mouth.

Great facility. Staff was practically non existent. They have 4 hydro massage tables in house. My husband was one one and they made me wait for someone to leave. When I went back, no one had mean on the other two. What's up with that? And the machines wouldn't hold the settings you set. Switched from full body to lower body. I set back to full body and after about 2 minutes, it switched back to upper body. Frustrating! No one available to tell when we left. We were visiting from out of town, will not go back to this facility.
