I am so happy I joined this gym. I had to leave this review specifically for the trainer, Steve. I genuinely look forward to his classes every week. Steve takes his role seriously, constantly teaching, encouraging, and challenging everyone. He is the main reason I've finally stuck with a gym, and what I've learned from his classes has made even my solo workouts so much more effective. The entire staff is always so kind and helpful, and the gym is consistently clean.

Great PF! If you read the reviews that are less than five stars you’ll see those people are ridiculous and COMPLIMENT this place without giving it 5 stars. Clean facilities and a few machines down but they have plenty others and they can’t be faulted that gym equipment that is often used goes down…. Love this planet fitness location. I have had issues transferring my billing for nearly a year. I went in today and Lee, the club manager over this location, quickly took it upon himself to call my previous club and resolve the issue. This is something that has bugged me for a while now and he resolved in it minutes. This club is also very clean with countless cleaning supplies throughout. Thank you, Lee!

I came to PF to tan on my lunch break. (Beds have been down for nearly a month a half) and I was told it would be 7 min. Ten min later I am still sitting there so Igo back and ask the manager how much longer he tells me 10 min. I stand there like what do you mean 10 min I’ve been waiting in there for 10 min. Had to change my review , a lot of equipment down and only 1 Hydro Chair and 2 Massage chairs. Almost a 5 star, clean facilities equipment in good shape just a couple issues with the ab area but as always massage chair was well received after a good workout. I will say this has been the best PF I have been too and I have been to quit a few.

I love the staff there. But I wish the owners paid more attention to the equipment. I have been going since they opened over 4 years ago. Buy lately the black card is getting to the point of not having it. Tanning beds have been messed up all summer and the hydro massage beds were messed up for awhile. They have a window that has been busted for months. I live in Madison county and that is the closest 1 to me and would take me over an hour to drive to the Arden location on a good day. I hope the higher up see this and will replace the equipment instead of putting a bandage on it. Just upsetting 😡 that I have to pay a tanning place to be able to pay in a tanning bed that I pay for at the gym. Do better and consider your loyal people. Again no issues with the staff at the location

Unfortunately on 8/20/25 I had a horrible experience at this planet fitness on smokey park highway. I showed up at the gym at 7pm got on the stair master, someone in the facility looked through my bag in the locker room, took my keys to unlock my truck and take off with my wallet. I had business debit cards, credit cards from different places and cash. I made a police report on the spot. The reason for the 1 star is because the staff would not help with anything in the situation but put my name and number on a piece of paper. You cant even get ahold of anyone at corporate level either. No one has reached out to even ask about the situation. Also I am not the only one that this has happened to at this same place! I have 4 other testimonies from people that have had this happen recently. So be very careful, working out at this facility may cause you some losses and no help at all.

Absolutely love this gym, really appreciate the affordable special offer entry in early spring offered for membership, the staff cleans well frequently & they recently added new equipment! There's a pretty decent amount of new people since the new year, but plenty of equipment and no issues getting to use stuff. Great clean locker areas with showers and plenty of space in the tlt stalls. Great locker storage, you can bring a lock if you'd like but I've never had issues with leaving extra layers in the lockers without one. Really like their assist pull up equipment (back left corner) & stretching equipment (back right corner). Fellow customers are courteous about not hogging equipment and seem great about being vigilant whipping down after themselves. Wish they had a class or two for self defense/kick boxing, but given the price & amazing equipment I'd say it's well worth it just as is.

I can only speak to this location, which is great. Having spent $215+/month for Equinox in NYC for seven years, I can genuinely say this facility gave me everything Equinox provided, with the exception of rosemary-scented towels and a women's steam room. Which, for the price comparison, I'm happy to sacrifice. 10/10 recommend. Can't speak to Planet Fitness elsewhere, but here... it's phenomenal.

I was currently only using two Planet Fitness locations. My "home" gym is located in Arden, and when I'm away during the weekends, I use the one in Easley, SC. It's such a hassle to battle traffic and spend well over 30+ minutes to get to my home gym. I started only going on the weekends in SC, but it hasn't been enough. I realized this gym was ONLY 15 minutes away from my workplace. Stopped by there a couple days ago, and can say I absolutely love it. Clean, but slightly busy when I show up a little after 3 p.m, but NEVER crazy when I am there, which is nice. I find not only the Arden gym being so far away, but it's way too big for me. I enjoy the "cozy" feel of this one. It's slightly bigger than the gym I go to in Easley. Yes, I will continue to come to this gym. I love it and feel very welcomed and safe.

The people that work there are pretty nice except one night I called Planet Fitness to inquire about the hours and a group sale and the girl basically blew me off and when I called back again to try to get some answers, she just let the phone ring and ring and ring And I called two more times and she did not pick up the phone. I called and reported it to a manager the next day.

The bathrooms are continuously filthy in the ladies room. Especially the toilets. Poop on them almost daily. Please clean the place consistently. Seriously it’s gross and unsanitary.

This place is awful. There are two staff members that have been harassing me. Standing over me while I yoga - I have a spinal injury in three places. I was in a ton of pain and threw my yoga mat down to try and get the searing pain to a tolerable level, and went into a back bend and two women are standing over me barking at me that I was not allowed to yoga in the locker room. It was my understanding this was a judge free zone. I certainly felt judged and embarrassed by these two. Perhaps it wasn’t the best place to throw my mat down. But again, it was either that or be laid up and doped up - which I hate and prefer to handle my pain differently when able. I told them I would be happy to speak with their manager when I was finished doing what I was doing. And that if there was a rule saying I was not allowed to do what I was doing to please show that to me in my contract and I would be happy to stop. They did not leave me alone and watched me like I was a common criminal. Despite my verbal communication that I would be happy to come and speak to their manager. It ain’t over yet so I hope you keep reading! As I was walking to the door these two yelled at me that I wasn’t allowed back. The manager was sitting there - he couldn’t have been older than my daughter - and apparently let’s these two run the show instead of taking the authority Planet Fitness gave him. I spoke to my home P.F manager because that’s what the internet said to do. I was indeed blocked from that location though not one manager, district manager, regional manager, NO ONE inquired about my side. As I’m paying for a black card membership, btw. After speaking with the Arden location’s manager, I honestly did not care to go back to the Asheville location. I’m not in the area all that much longer...but then last week I get an email from P.F about “collecting” information about me. And then changed my membership without my knowledge or consent to the “classic” membership. Which means I am only allowed to go to one location. I paid for a black card membership for a reason. These people sent a letter that I cannot open, changed my CONTRACT without my consent, and are actively harassing me. They sent a letter I can’t open and have done God knows what with my SS number, my bank account info, my address, ALL of my personal info. I have made an appointment with an attorney. I plan on suing PF, and then civilly filing against these two for harassment, and using my personal information for their own personal interest. Thank God for the Arden location. Those folks seem ethical, kind and professional. Buyer beware. Seems whoever can get into your account and do what they like with your information with this company.

I haven't started the gym part due to a foot injury but have been doing the tanning beds. I really like all of the beds, bulbs are great. Only thing is their not very clean sometimes. I went last week and got in one of the lie down beds. The person before me I guess didn't clean it. It had dried sweat, and looked like makeup all over the side. The stand upbeds I don't think they clean them very often. Other than that I love it, and ill keep going, just have to clean a little extra before I get it.

I have been a member for 11 months now and still love coming to the gym. Staff is always friendly and attentive. There was an individual that came in twice under the premise of considering a membership. He was very strange (creepy) person that made several of us along with the staff at the desk very uncomfortable. The staff had eyes on him inside and out of the facility. That is a huge plus that they look out for suspicious behavior. Unfortunately, I still have a complaint regarding the condition of the ladies locker room, shower/changing area and bathrooms. There is a spill that has been on the bench under the TV and in the floor on the right-hand side since Monday when I brought to staff attention. Granted the person that spilled should have taken initiative, but we know how that goes. There is still trash on the floor and changing areas that has also been there all week. The floors are in desperate need of being swept and mopped.

They allow dogs. Very strange to walk into the bathroom and see a dog in the shower at a gym. I asked my friend and he told me the dude with the dog is homeless and showers here with his dog. I complained to the front desk and they said their hands are tied since the owner claims it's a "service dog" even though they didn't ask for verification and the dog has no tags. Since when did we become a society where dogs have rights over humans? Can't there be at least ONE place where I can get a break from dogs and their nutty owners?

Also, the bathroom always smells horrible here (as well as in most Planet Fitnesses I've been to across the nation). And PF needs to seriously reconsider their purple color scheme, coupled with the blue overhead lighting it makes for a dark, cold and depressing environment while working out.

One of the nicest nationwide. We visited over 35 planet fitness locations and applauded the clean amenities. Their team is dedicated to cleaning walls, showers, and equipment without comprising the non-ego ethos. It reminded us of La Jolla, San Diego or Corona, Los Angeles. With a community that cooperates to keep the space enjoyable for everyone. They are closed on weekends, perhaps staffing schedules. (See our Golds Gym membership review) for contrast, since price is not a qualifying factor of hygiene.

Great place to catch a workout. They had an enormous amount of cardio equipment available to use at any time. It seemed to be clean with the amount of people that were there. Loved the different weight machines they had. Great variety for a superb workout.

When I first joined here I was impressed by how clean the facility was and the good condition of the machines. A dirty gym and equipment in poor repair was why I left my other gym. Since joining, I've noticed that cleanliness has gone by the wayside-dirty machines, lockers and locker rooms. In PF's defense, yesterday there was a gal cleaning the machines. My other complaint about PF is that there are way too many treadmills and elipticals and not nearly enough weight machines. There are only two machines to work each muscle group. I workout in the mornings when things are slower, but I'm still constantly having to wait to use the machines. A 1.25hr workout takes me 1.75hrs because of all the waiting. I know these gyms are corporate clones, so I doubt they will do anything to change the mix of machines; but I hope things are cleaned more often. I also hope the management takes this as constructive criticism and chooses to make this gym live up to it's potential. For the cleanliness issue, please refer to other people's reviews with pictures. I do appreciate that the machines are kept in good repair.
