I always feel welcome at this gym. Michael the trainer is incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He has helped me achieve my fitness goals while making the process enjoyable. I do miss two of the employees that are no longer at the facility. They were great at customer service along with Michael. That would be Reese and Haleigh. I have a regular classic membership! I’ve had this membership for 13 years with planet fitness. Tomorrow I will cancel my entire family’s membership.

I brought my 14 year old son to come workout with me and was prepared to sign a waiver and pay. The two young men behind the counter tonight at 10:00pm 10/30/25 said “do you think we should give them the discount”! They then decided in front of us we were not worthy of this discount. When I asked what this was about the young man behind the computer puffed up his chest and crossed his arms as though he was a bouncer enforcing with physical threats.

Hi, just adding my experience here that happened tonight. I just spoke to Xavier and the manager Lexie, and they were extremely unhelpful, rude and purposefully uninformative in their communication tactics. Backstory: I am an employee for NBC News, and I’ve been wrapped up with work since recent breaking news events. I’ve done this before when I had to go work the Paris Olympics where I’ve needed to pause my account. Either way I wasn’t asking them to do anything I was simply asking that if the UNCC location put a note on my account that they were verifying my balance could I come work out at the gym. I am perfectly fine with a “no” but it was the lack of professionalism and tone in their voices. They continued to talk over me, to where I couldn’t even get my question out fully until my 4th try. Extremely saddening since I’ve been a member here since 2019. I will be reaching out to my contacts at this location.

Some of your staff members are lacking in common courtesy and respect. An employee Michael bumped into me without saying excuse me. Later this same employee wasn’t able to understand the difference between a massage chair and hydrotherapy. These mistakes show a lack of understanding and customer service. Good gym but I’ve noticed that no one cares anymore about members using lockers long term. Some mornings, you have an issue finding a locker that is cleaned out and empty. These locks have been on these lockers for weeks. I’ve already alerted the front desk but nothing was done. Several years ago, stickers were put on lockers that remained locked over night and then locks were cut.

I’ve been a Planet Fitness member since 2018, and I’ve noticed a significant change in the gym environment over the years. When I first joined, a staff member politely reminded me to let the weights down as gently as possible. I appreciated that attention to proper gym etiquette.

Unfortunately, things have changed. Today, I saw a member repeatedly slam the handles of a machine so hard that it eventually broke — and no staff member said a word. This isn’t an isolated incident; more and more people let the weights slam down on the machines without any correction, creating an unpleasant atmosphere and putting unnecessary strain on the equipment.

It’s disappointing to see this shift from the considerate, well-maintained environment I first experienced. With consistent enforcement of proper equipment use, Planet Fitness could restore the safe, respectful, and welcoming atmosphere it once had.

The cleanliness of the facility has noticeably declined under the new management. In particular, the women's bathroom is in unacceptable condition. The increased foot traffic during the summer months must be taken into consideration, and improvements need to be implemented urgently. I bring things up to management or the front desk and it goes through one ear and out the other . I'll make sure I change my home gym soon

Some of the staff are friendly, while others do not greet members or make eye contact. With so many employees, the women's facilities should be spotless. Unfortunately, most of the staff members just sit at the desk and gossip, which makes it unprofessional for gym members to sit there as well. Occasionally, they walk around the gym floor, but I notice the same individuals are responsible for cleaning while the trash overflows in the bathroom changing rooms and persistent stains remain on the floor. The new male manager Reese seems only to focus on the gym floor. The showers should be cleaned and sprayed daily. I never had any issues when the female manager was in charge. I hope improvements can be made.

I visited this Planet Fitness location to work out and also asked if I could make a payment there. They told me they couldn’t accept it since it wasn’t my home gym—which I understood. However, they also said I wouldn’t be allowed to work out because of the overdue payment.

According to Planet Fitness’s own policy, members are allowed one courtesy workout after a missed payment before access is restricted. I had to push back and explain this, and only then was I allowed to work out. It was clear the staff either weren’t aware of the policy or were just unwilling to follow it until challenged.

While I did end up being allowed to work out, the lack of knowledge and the unwelcoming attitude made for a frustrating experience. Planet Fitness advertises nationwide access and consistency—but situations like this show how poorly trained or unwilling some locations are to uphold their own standards.

I've been coming to this Planet Fitness location for about 6 years now, and for the most part, it's been a good experience. However, this summer things have noticeably gone downhill—especially during certain hours.

Tonight in particular was rough: people were being loud and obnoxious, screaming across the gym, and the staff (who seemed quite young) was just hanging out at the front socializing and didn’t step in to address it at all. On top of that, the bathroom was so dirty I couldn’t even use the urinal—there was urine on the floor extending several feet back. It was honestly unusable.

I understand summer brings more people in, especially with the free teen workout program, and I think that’s a great initiative. But if the gym is going to be that much busier, staff need to be more proactive about keeping things clean and making sure everyone follows the gym’s policies. That’s what makes the experience positive for everyone

I love this place it's open late at night in the morning on weekdays I just wish I was open late on weekends as well. But from the checking on there site seen what deals they have to checking in yo get the best tan in just a short amount of time with 2 different bulb choices and 3 different types of beds they have lay down beds or stand up beds. Locker rooms bathrooms showers and scale to weigh your self along with a area to do hair and make up to go on about your day or to go on to work after a work out with the equipment and on days your muscle 💪 are sore and needs a bit of relaxing and to get un intense two different types of massaging chairs are definitely the best..... Since you're opening a line of communication, which I value and respect I'll explain a little more.

Let's start with the positive, there is alot that I love about this gym...and by this gym I mean all planet fitnesses I've visited (so like 25ish). I love the black card and all benefits with it! The people at all locations are great and at this particular one, they're some of my favorite planet fitness folks! They're awesome.

Why the one star then? Well, anger! But not like I'm mad so let me rate it bad anger...because I still feel the same way, while at the same time, I feel guilty about the rating. I see that the hours are 24 hours certain days in concord...I don't know if thats new or not, if it is, great, progress.

But I signed up with black card. I don't pay the cheap fee that should have never been offered that low to start with. In my opinion that led to being overcrowded and sometimes even having less than desirable type people in there. I'm not a great person or anything. I'm not picky. I do believe in respect and that brings me to the biggest issue. I get charged the same but am offered waaaay less hours. I've been on for 3 or 4 years, always black card and all gyms I knew of especially kannapolis and concord were 24/7. Less crowded. More options. And the weekend closing at 7! That's the kicker...that's the anger in a nutshell. The days where I need it the most. Pay the people if you have to for undesirable shifts. I would gladly pay an extra 10. Especially if the regular price was 20. Maybe that clientele would be more idk...pleasant? Have respect. I hope you understand my point. I've spoken with other clients that seem to be the more serious type and they feel likewise. I'm sure not all will. Supply and demand. I understand business but I don't know your numbers. You do...maybe it won't work what I'm saying. I don't mean to sound ungrateful or like a dick to speak plainly but maybe a lesser fee would have worked...that's NOT what I want. I want what I signed up for. I'm not canceling as of now so I guess I'll adapt but I figured I'd at least throw the why at you. I do appreciate your gym. 1 star isn't really fair or accurate. Can't have higher than a 3 though with this nonsense of closing at 7 on sat and sun and 9 on Friday and if not for your people it'd be a 2. But attention needed to be drawn and I'm still 1 star pissed off about the hour changed and me paying for 24 hour service and getting what 12 hour service for the same price...you gotta understand that! You own a nice business for goodness sake. If getting people to work is the issue, pay them? Maybe auto-unlock like many gyms? Idk about 10 dollar clients having that kind of unsupervised access since kids can afford or not trying to be rude but bums looking for a shower or a nap. Maybe for black cards? What money buys special treatment? the American way! It's how it is...I ain't always had it...do better if that's an issue to those who would take issue. Anyways. Sorry for the book! I can’t begin to tell you the extent of my fantastic visit to this Planet Fitness. The other surrounding locations should be ashamed of themselves. The associates are the best of the best and take their job seriously yet a wonderful sense of humor. A man called Junior is beyond spectacular! This man needs to be recognized everyday for Employee Of The Year! The cleanliness and courtesy and knowledge from these people are phenomenal! I joined in Kannapolis and thank god I can go to this one as well. Kannapolis is disgusting!!! Planet fitness is by far the worst experience for working out I think I’ve ever had. No free weights (barbell, deadlift, etc) no jumping rope, no classes and no noise being made to ACTUALLY get a workout. Not to mention the harassment from ppl at the front desk that don’t get paid by the number of people that come in. Like why do I pay for a black card pass and have to register a guest??? I’m paying so no matter who I bring in they are a guest. Just don’t waste your time and workout at home. I’m SURE you could accomplish the same thing.

I’ve been a member at the Planet Fitness in Concord Commons for some time now, but my recent experiences have been disappointing to say the least. One of the biggest issues I’ve noticed is the cleanliness of the showers. It’s clear they don’t get cleaned regularly. There has been the same trash in the shower every day, including a bottle cap that’s been there for over a week. The smell of mildew is also quite strong, likely because the mat they put on the floor never seems to get cleaned. This is a basic hygiene issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

In addition to the cleanliness concerns, the customer service has been frustrating. I’ve had several interactions with the staff where they’ve been condescending and rude, especially when I’ve tried to resolve issues related to my account. Unfortunately, my experience with the manager, Haileigh, was the worst. When I tried to explain my situation and referenced the law, she was extremely rude and dismissive. It’s disappointing to be treated this way, especially when I’m just trying to get help with an issue that the company itself caused.

I’m not one to write negative reviews lightly, but the combination of poor hygiene and unprofessional behavior from staff, especially management, is unacceptable. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

Tried the location at Harrisburg. Very clean and friendly staff. I was impressed with the way they work hard to keep equipment and facility clean. Easy access off Hwy 29 and plenty of well lit, safe parking lot. Lots of other businesses are on this same shopping complex. Machines are outdated and it is time to update it.

I've been a member of planet fitness Concord for six years now and it's honestly been great until the past year. Im not sure if they are under new management but they don't follow any of their own policies anymore. It's pretty much a free for all these days. I've seen people working out in pajamas, work uniforms, sandals. People constantly lunk and throw the weights around, scream, talk on their cell phones extremely loud while on the treadmill, it's a huge change from the past 5 years. I use to love coming here when they followed their own policies.

Too many cardio machines and not enough cables or free weights. It seems that planet fitness has missed the memo. In the past women and elderly populations made heavy use of cardio machines, however, now that fitness influencers are everywhere the older gym goers along with the ladies realize the value of strength training and have been regular users of cables, machines, free weights and squat racks. Unfortunately for planet fitness, their lack of updating equipment and layout will force them to remain a stepping stone gym where users graduate to better equipped gym franchises.

Staff is professional and kind, facility is clean and well maintained. Love the renovation with the exception of the treadmills. They're more narrow and less bouncy than the previous ones. Screens are slow to respond to touch

I pay the premium for access & quality therefore I joined Planet fitness black card membership. Whenever the quality slips into mediocre I patronize another facility. The ladies locker room needs attention... while staff are standing around at the front desk in conversation. The floors & toilets haven't been cleaned for weeks. The broken shower head was missing for months along with the shower curtain. I value the staff who roll up their sleeves and don't think it is beneath them to tidy up. While I don't have a problem wiping down the workout machines; I should not have to clean the locker room before using it.

Love PF. Everyone leaves me alone. The PF Black VIP room is great for those like me that need to have a sensory decompression. The gym part can be a bit overwhelming at times. It's a great anxiety relief room. 3am work outs are the best thing ever.

I signed up for a black card online to go to any club. This club is very clean, and the location is very convenient. The hydro massage was awesome and I definitely feel better because of it. It took some time to figure out the settings. But basically you set the " margins" was able to get my hips and back to feel a good amount of blood circulation from it. My hip has been recently bothering me and that was a bonus to the multiple locations. I felt comfortable and safe at the gym and I weighed myself in the locker room and had to look at my weight! My fitness goals are to look like Daniel Craig James Bond. Nice place.
