I signed up for a gym membership. I'm starting to think I've signed up for a cult. I thought I'd pay monthly to use equipment for fitness while surrounded by like minded people. But there's a strange vibe in the gym. Like random strangers trying to talk to me while I'm stretching my glutes. Or employees stalking me through the gym and locker room. It's all very odd behavior. One time I was walking through the gym and a lady on the Altoid Flexxer grabbed my arm. I had my head phones on and couldn't hear a word of it. I just stop ,smiled and kept walking. But I was really shocked by this. Then one time I was operating the Gorilla Galoot Slammer and this guy started shadow boxing in the mirror while staring me in the eye, as if he was contemplating attacking me. Other than that it's a great gym though. If this is some kind of cult please let me know. I'll probably try to join it so they can build a pyramid of mind control in my brain. Thanks gang.

After Hurricane Helene, I moved to Inman and went in person to cancel my membership. Despite doing everything I was supposed to, I just found out months later—almost a year later—that I was still being charged monthly fees. When I called to ask about a refund, I was told the only thing they could do was “cancel the membership” (which I had already done in person).

It’s unacceptable that a company would continue to charge customers after a natural disaster, ignore a clear cancellation, and then refuse reimbursement. This experience shows a complete lack of accountability and concern for their members.

Made to leave the gym despite my wife and I having a membership. She is not able to be at the gym with me, none of the other planet fitness reps had an issue with this for nearly two years. I had been able to exercise here with no problems. This forces me to have to cancel the account and open my own and pay another set of fees. Utter garbage, find another gym who can understand personal circumstances if you have a family like I do.

This place is one of the worse planet Fitness I have been too, let's start with very little leg equipment, I made do with frre weights and the 2 machines they did have, then I pay extra for a black card so I can travel and use the massage chairs, well when I went to get one had to wait 15 min for the counter guy to show back up and he let 2 people in front of me bam no more chairs, so I was like the heck with it I will just get a hot shower, the facilities is so small the shower stalls are small and no privacy. This place is a joke, will have to find a different one over here elsewhere.

I love being in the gym and getting my workout in and getting ready for summer don’t play but when I tell you I came in the gym feeling so good at 10pm on a Thursday night 5/1/24 and I see the worker just sitting on the front desk counter she was wearing a pink shirt and grey sweats. I was like okay umm cool anyways I do my workout and I get done I’m with a friend who has a black card membership and so we decide oh let’s get some messages so we go to the front desk and she’s not there weird again but then I turn and see her rubbing all up on a guy working out umm weird we go to grab her and ask if we can use the massage chairs and she said scan your passes so I ask oh is it okay that I’m her guest cause she has the pass and she informs me that I can’t cause we both need a pass umm okay cool but at another planet fitness let us both go as I was a guest with my friend. I just think she should be more professional and not be running around the gym rubbing up on guys who are working out and she should actually be at the front desk and so if people need help they don’t have to go around looking for a worker. Not the best experience ever I just feel like this shouldn’t have happened

First the good; new basic equipment and decent value for the standard plan. Always clean and decent number of racks and dumbbells. New treadmills too. Now the bad; locker rooms have minimal seating and the customer service from management has gone through downhill. I've been a member for 10+ years with no missed payments. Had first late payment couple months ago and manager was quick to enforce the late fee and said nothing could be done about it. No regard for personal situation, just another number for them.

Way too crowded, lots of sitting looking at phones instead of letting someone work in while you 'rest' for an extended amount of time, behavior that doesn't follow usual gym etiquette needs to be addressed. Could be a good place. I'm in a rhythm that avoids the center line of machines most often because...equipment campers. Just do your set.

Great facility with new equipment. The front desk staff is excellent 5 star people. The men’s showers, 2 out of the 4 showers has been down for over a month. I have emailed the owner and spoke to staff about this. The shower handles need to be replaced and is not a big deal. This is an issue especially in the AM with a wait for an available shower and the need to get to work on time. Again your gym is a great place to workout. Please fix this problem.

I love planet fitness! You can go anywhere in the US and find your way around the location bc each one is laid out pretty much the same. For just $20 per month you can visit any location. In addition to work out you can also enjoy free tanning and hydromassage beds. And the shower rooms are always clean and I love that there are dressing rooms across from the showers to undress, dress and do your makeup in.

Did anyone else get charged while the club was not open? I did and they blamed it on the fact that I transferred to a club in Ohio which I did because I was displaced from the hurricane. I didnt use the club but the club in Ohio said the only way I could cancel my membership was to transfer to their club which I did and a day later I cancelled it. PF wont refund me the money even though they claimed they would freeze our accounts since the club was closed. Due to the massive property damage I am not going to be able to be a member in WNC anytime in the future. This is just a shame a lil help would have been appreciated.

Update: A Manager a couple days Sept 10 or 11th 2024 can't remember the exact day, lied about the two massage chairs being broken. She was just about to get off work around 3pm. She didn't want me using it, I guess. The next day she wasn't in, so I asked the employees about it. They were like, I wonder who told you that?(They knew who told) No there's nothing wrong with the equipment....Some people , what they fail to realize is that God reads heart.

I have a Black Card membership so that I can use any Planet Fitness around the country during my travels. While visiting Flat Rock I used this facility frequently. I had a question for a young man at the desk about using new to me equipment as I was concerned about a problem in my lower back. I was impressed a while later when he approached me to say that a particular machine I was using was not a good choice for my back and suggested an alternative.

Hendersonville NC planet fitness is smaller but clean and has mostly modern machines. Missing ARC trainers that other newer nicer planet fitnesses have, but they slowly year after year seem to be adding newer machines so maybe in the future. No problems with crowds here.

Had to cancel membership due to various factors. Their internet was down the day my wife and I went in to do so. 6/15/2024.. We were advised to write a statement of our intent to cancel, and we did. Got confirmation on 6/16/2024. Then charged 25.99 each for another month on 6/17/2024. The website advises to contact the location when this happens. Spoke with Mason today, 6/19/2024, and was informed they do not do refunds. Asked to speak with a manager and was informed that the response would not change. The medical condition I have will be corrected, and I will be cleared for gym activity again. However, it will not be with this location or company.

Floors are disgusting!! I've been going to this gym for about 7 months now, 6 days a week, most weeks. It's rare that I walk into this PF and not see all of the employees on duty just standing around talking or looking at their phones. I spoke to the manager about a month ago about vacuuming more and they flashed a piece of paper at me and said that they were working on it. They were actually cleaning that day, but only the locker rooms from what I could tell. The next day and every day I've gone back since, no improvements. I'm sick and tired of seeing hair tumbleweeds building up in the corners and getting dirt and debris on my arms and legs every time i get on the floor to do my stretching. Please do much better!

A great value for the money.

As with any operation of this type, there is equipment or facilities (toilets, showers, faucets) that break ... and a more rapid repair of those items would always be preferable. Also, with the influx of new members, one could also wish for better introductory training so beginners know what machines are "free use" and which are part of a circuit ... so they do not grab a machine and interrupt those following the circuit. Teaching "good gym manners" to new members would be helpful.

But all in all, the equipment is well maintained, there is a diversity of machines and free weights, the facility is kept clean, and the staff are friendly and responsive. For the price, it is hard to beat!

I started a gym membership for the first time last fall and got my files taken into some place in Tennessee that I never been to and started getting charged two $25 dollars monthly. Caught this four months in on my bank account. Kept going back and forth to get my 4 months of money taken without my notice. They kept redirecting me (probably for a reason) and a month of this… they won’t give me my money back, they tried offering me a month free like that will make up for it. Lmao. Cardio takes up the vast majority of the floor. They could easily take out two rows of tread mills and still have an excess of them. There are several weight machines that need to be added, only one fly machine always in use, no leg curl machine except in the 30 minute circuit. Not quite as clean as other PF I’ve seen but it’s the only game in town

What can I say, it's a gym, updated equipment, all the machines I've seen at any planet fitness I've been to in other locations, genuinely kind staff.

A service dog came over to say hello to me while their person worked out nearby. Which was nice, but instant hives, but you gotta put up with the furries sometimes in these cases I guess.

Tried the hydromassage for the first time which was quite nice, I'm a massage therapist myself, so what I really liked about the machine was the option to center the range of the jets to just massage certain parts of your body. And the staff was v helpful in getting the machine to work.

Definitely would be a nice home gym and I'll continue to use it while I'm in the area.

I've been going to this gym for a couple of months now and I think it's fantastic! The staff are always friendly and helpful with whatever I need. I have never had any problems with any of the equipment except for my own lack of knowledge, lol. The tanning beds are nice but I really enjoy the stand up tanning booths! They work great and have always been clean and fresh when I've used them! Even the shower area is sparkling clean and bright and you can't get better water pressure anywhere I don't think! Great gym I'm there 5-6x a week. My only complaint is every single visit, there are members using the 30 minute circuit area for sets. They are always sitting on the machines for 15-20 minutes at a time, and I have limited time, so I use the area for its intended purpose. I don't feel it's my job to instruct members to be considerate, there's a sign. But if every hour or so, an employee could do a walk around or monitor the area a bit closer w the camera that's there...it might help. It has really gotten out of hand

My daughter and I are on day two at Planet Fitness, and we love it! James was very helpful on our first day, which helped start our fitness journey off on the right foot. The 30-minute circuit area is absolutely perfect for us. We're short on time in the mornings, so it's a blessing to have a little guidance on what to do and for how long. We're both just very happy that we signed up. Plus, I'm really looking forward to the weekend when I'll get to take advantage of the tanning bed and massage chair. 🥳

The facility is always clean and the staff are friendly. I've never witnessed our facility being overly crowded.

Very well maintained facility. Clean and well lit. All machines seemed to be in working order, staff was friendly and greeting people as they came and went. The Vero Beach, Florida location could take some pointers from you. My one and only criticism is that there is no enforcement of the guidelines for the 30 minute workout space, which is what I primarily use. Many were just sitting around chatting and not using the actual circuit as intended…and with the circuit space being located at the back of the location, it’s difficult for employees to monitor unless they walk through consistently. This hinders my workout and the workouts of others who do want to utilize the circuit appropriately. I do want to point out that this has been an issue at every PF I have used, and is not exclusive to this location. Overall, a great experience!

It is a very awesome place to work out, a lovely environment, not all dirty and gross, family friendly, and lots of equipment. It's a wonderful place for me and my mom to go work out together.

My sweet baby signed up for planet fitness black card so I could use the tanning, hydrotherapy and workout in the same place. This has been amazing for us and allows me to get my self time in a place that is accommodating. Wonderful workers and clean environment. 10/10
