Visited last night. Not impressed compared to home gym. It could use an overhaul. Some machine seats have tears. People camping on machines on phone. Went to use massage chair told by staff to wait in chair across from desk for 3-4 mins. I was 10’ from desk. Walked back up in about 4 mins and they just gave chairs to 2 girls. Staff member shrugged…on well. Just not a good vibe there….at least for me.

Love this gym. Always clean and staff is super. Any chance a large wall clock could be added? I do not take my cell phone or wear a watch when working out and have to find a TV with the current time to check on the time.

Highly don’t recommend. A black male with dreads from the front desk was judging others saying it smelled like feet in the massage area and he started laughing. I approached him and the other front desk about it and they laughed. Very unprofessional. This gym advertises “judgement free zone” but they are very judgmental

So my. Husband and I frequent this location on a daily basis. And I wanted the owner and or just manager to know that Tationna is the 1 of the best employees that this location has. No mind you I don’t know her but when we started coming here we noticed how hard she works. And another young lady that works with her ad well. I do apologize for not knowing her name. But we verbally let them know how they are doing and awesome job. 1st customer service and then when they clean up. Omgosh they be on it, and the ladies bathroom does be clean. Now mind you I know that a lot of people come to the gym. But if I had to refer someone to this location I would most definitely tell someone to come.

Needs some side Lateral machines badly. In response to this locations owner's response, I find myself constantly reminded when in in another planet fitness location that I'm not in my home location. That constant reminder screams "YOU'RE KINDA WELCOME HERE" even though I'm a black card holder. Out of town customers, beware of the other locations not totally welcome attitudes. Way too many people taking up space playing on their phones.

Exactly what I was looking for in a gym. An abundance of machines & equipment. I love the app (very helpful in assisting with use of machines), helps track your progress & workout videos to guide you if you’re uncertain regarding anything. Staff is friendly & helpful. A clean environment. The tanning booths, red light machines & massage chairs are a major bonus. A great place to achieve goals & a great place for alone time. Very affordable & not an intimidating atmosphere as a person who has not visited a gym in over 10 years.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel a membership here. The loopholes you have to go through to cancel are absurd- like going in person (even if you live far away), they still charge you even when you request to freeze your account. I am disappointed in the system as a whole.

Boondocker. We use the showers when we're on the road. Bathrooms were clean. Showers ran cold at first but after running for a decent while finally ran hot, then too hot and temperature was hard to regulate.

The subscription for ESPN and Fox Sports has run out at this location. Is there a plan to get it reinstated? As a paying member, my account is always up to date. How yours isn’t, is beyond me. While this is the problem of management, the front desk staff is clueless as to what is going on.

Overnight guy at the front desk (Hunter?) was phenomenal. Me and my fiancée are new members and he answered every single newbie question we had and walked us through all the of the amenities (massage station, full body enhancements, eat) with zero hesitation. Made it a really comfortable and enjoyable first visit.

I cancelled my membership about 10 months ago, went into the store and a lady said she cancelled it and took care of it . I was not asked to sign anything. This month they took almost $100 out of my account and said it’s my fault because I didn’t sign anything. Recommend going anywhere else, I’m paying $100 for their improper training.

Hours of operation are super flexible. There is always an employee walking around wiping down machines. Front desk staff are very friendly and ready to greet you and tell you have a great day on your way out.

Constantly dealing with tanning bed lights being out for multiple weeks. Bed 4 has 20 bulbs out currently, and this has been getting worse over the last 4 weeks. They don’t have a good bench at the smith machine to the dumbbell area ratio. They should have atleast 11 bench’s on the floor based on the space ratio so people can get there workouts in without having to wait for people sitting on their phones for 10 minutes between sets. The bench’s here have been in issue for over a year and management has always said they’re getting more bench’s but then never do. The place just needs small things, but these things make all the difference.

I am very disappointed with the Smithfield NC location I’m a truck driver so I’m all over and I only got plant fitness to use the tanning beds and this is the worst location for tanning I have been to every single bed has over 20 burnt out bulbs and the workers are aware when I told them they new that everyone of them was like this so why don’t the manager running this location have them changed like every other location does. The workers are very nice but if you can’t change the damn bulbs don’t offer tanning

Last week, front desk associate (didn’t get his name but it was second shift and he wore really bright colored contacts) wouldn’t stop staring and made me deeply uncomfortable. Not sure why I got his attention but I didn’t want to stick around and find out.

It’s a shame because if they got rid of that guy it’d be a really nice location. But there’s other gyms in the area that I feel safe in

You have so much equipment, and I love all the different stations! The main thing that brought me to Planet Fitness (besides price & ease of setting up a membership) is the tanning beds! My gym membership was under Tamara Carter at the Smithfield North Carolina location . They Overall I was pretty satisfied even though it can be very crowded and the tanning beds are a big waste of time. They do not change out the bulbs so not much tanning going on. I have been to other PF where tanning was much better
My anniversary month approached, and I drove to Smithfield to cancel because I no longer work or live in that area. I drove over 30 miles to cancel this membership and was told By management I could not cancel until February and would have to send a certified letter. ( I joined in January). They make it very hard for you to cancel Even after a year of membership, and in my case, haven’t even utilize the gym in Months. After I thought about it, I’m pretty sure it’s so they can collect another yearly maintenance fee plus another monthly fee. I do not recommend the black card .

Very clean with really friendly staff, that made me feel able to ask anything, certainly without any judgement.
I definitely felt comfortable; the whole atmosphere just felt energetic but not overwhelming, which just makes it easy to be there and work out without feeling anxious. I really like that the machines have instructions on them, so for a true gym newbie like myself, I don't look like a lost idiot trying to figure out how to use the machines LOL.
