I have called for 5 months in a row, each month I am told they will follow up to cancel my membership. I finally ask to speak with a manager, he ignores the request, and tells his associate to tell me to cancel on the app. Which doesn’t work. This is theft, and at the worst level of hospitality and customer service. Planet fitness lets you sign up in 10 seconds, doesn’t help you cancel, then steals!

Continues to be one of the nastiest Planet Fitness out of all the ones I've been to. I don't understand how they keep getting staff that just sit around and do nothing. The managers seem to be the only ones who work. There have been a few younger gentlemen who just seem to mess around a lot. They constantly have the same machines down to include the stair master. The owner(s) really need to get some updated equipment. Really annoying to constantly go in and only have one stair master working. Need to get a third one. There are enough treadmills. Replace one of them or something. Also when they let all the kids come in there and don't police them up. Half the time they are horsing around.

This gym made me feel so claustrophobic, I won’t be returning. It’s tiny, the machines are close together, and everybody is on top of each other when working out. There are no fans, and as a young woman I was really uncomfortable because of the mirrors along the wall behind the cardio equipment. It made me feel like my backside was on display. I know people will walk behind me and that’s fine, but to know anybody can glance around the gym at any time and see everything in the mirror just makes me anxious.

Extremely clean and staff is good but its like 1000 people in a closet. Now they've brought the kids in FREE for the summer. Oh boy, it only adds to the length of time you have to wait for a machine while people play on phones or hold a machine so they can continue a conversation. For such a tiny, popular gym you would think there would be more restrictions.

I am very satisfied with the facilities at this location.
I would recommend the Planet Fitness franchise and do believe that the Black Card membership cost is justified by the amenities and quality and variety of the equipment selection. Overall, I am very happy I chose to join Planet Fitness.

There are so few things in life that I will say that I have honestly put the time in to consider myself to be both knowledgeable and experienced enough to call myself and expert. Fitness does fall into that category; I am not an expert, and I am not trained or educated in a way that allows me to claim anything to the contrary. Honest admission aside, I have achieved many fitness goals for myself over the years, I read the magazines, I studied fitness and bodybuilding books and routines, I've taken the supps and I know what works- for me...and pretty much every other person and it's called "Time-Under-Tension". No not the theory that the longer you keep your muscles under tension that the larger and fuller they become, although it is a theory, and a popular one. No, I mean the literal time and effort you put into your workouts. I can say that with one hundred percent certainty if you don't work out, you'll never achieve a fitness goal. That being said I have thousands of hours working out, at a diverse mixture of fitness centers and gyms.

Planet Fitness for me was never really a consideration previously, due to the "anti-lunk" campaign that they undertook in order to attract and promote, somewhat ironically their inclusive attitude where they tell their members "They belong". At many points in my fitness journey, I matched their stereotypical image of what a "lunk" is, that is until you realized nothing about me besides my physical stature fit their tongue in cheek depiction of a muscle bound, brainless, egotistical maniac who is only capable of picking things up and putting them down, grunting loudly and triggering their noise detectors. Yeah - I am not bitter. After all I did decide to join since they seemed to have realized to be inclusive means all are welcome. I am happy to say they figured that out. Thank you that PF! Now I do feel like I belong.

That being said, Planet Fitness Gym that I worked out at was clean, well maintained, the locker room facilities were clean, the machines and stations were clean, their free weight selection was numerous and adequate for even the strongest of Mr. Olympia aspirants, there were plenty of benches and attachments for the machine stations, and most importantly I did not notice a "Lunk alarm". They may still be there, but I certainly hope they are inoperable. Even at my peak I never slammed weights or made much noise when I worked out and trust me not many people would have judged me harshly considering the weights I used to lift. That being said I had a great first workout at Planet Fitness.

My only negative I have to mention is that when checking in I was informed to load the app on the phone. The attendant "checked me in" but then reminded me a couple times that "this time it was ok, but I needed the app". He said this after I explained that I had the app on my phone and showed him that when I opened it all it did was sit there and never allowed me to log in. Other than that, I cannot over state how impressed I was that for all the hype planet fitness does what gyms are supposed to do, open their doors, keep their equipment maintained, clean up and get out the way and let fitness happen.

Staff is very nice though and they keep it reasonably clean, but…Super small and limited equipment. The app’s crowd gauge is never accurate for this place - it always seems crowded. The water fountain is gross, they should have a filtered water bottle refill station like every other place. It’s the worth the drive to a different gym.

Love this location. Everything about this gym is amazing. Especially the employee Landen. Everyday I come in he greets me with a smile and it just brightens my day. The staff is extra friendly. The gym is clean, efficient, and well looked after. The only thing I don't like about this gym is the fact that they broadcast FOX News, MSNBC, CNN and other news stations on the large screen televisions. It's distracting. I go to the gym to improve my health, not raise my blood pressure. When I inquired about this I was told the staff had no control over what is shown. The Kerr gym did away with their large TV screens. It makes for a more productive stress free workout.

Great place to go if you wanna get a quick workout in, I will say though they are usually busy towards the beginning days of the week like mon-Wednesday but you won’t have much trouble getting whatever machine you want if you have a little patience, overall good experience. Gosh, what CAN’T I say about this planet fitness? Incredible facility with even better staff, and there’s one in particular I’d like to highlight. PARKER. This young man is an absolute gem.

I was hitting my bench PR (375, ladies), but I didn’t stretch beforehand because I was so excited. As soon as the bar got off the rack, it fell straight onto my neck, and a guy like me typically doesn’t need a spotter. Luckily, Parker was there watching (probably in awe at the sheer weight) and he swooped right in to lift it off of me, likely saving my life. I’d also like to add, I barely helped him lift it hahaha. I mean seriously, this guy is amazing. Thanks to Parker and this planet fitness location, I was able to stay alive and pursue my dream of hitting 375, which I did the very next day. Thank you for your service to the Wilmington community!
