The BEST introduction to Pole Dancing!! I was really nervous I would look insane, but they were so kind and encouraging, we felt like we could do anything!! We went for girls night and it was EPIC. I think this is an amazing workout every woman has to try at least 16 times and I would go back in a heartbeat.

I tried to hold off giving a review as long as I could because I really want to give this place a fair chance. It’s a beautiful gym and maybe clients who are taking classes have a different experience. I have tried to use this gym a couple different times for practice hour on my own and have only been successful once. I haven’t been able to get into contact with anyone who seems to care. I met one woman face to face my very first day and she just stared at me when I walked in until I awkwardly asked about drop in times. I feel like the clients that take the classes get priority at this point which is very unfortunate because I am passionate about pole dance and this is the only studio near me. I have had issues with the app and texted whoever runs the studio about it and it was clear she didn’t even read my message. I’m very frustrated that whoever runs the studio doesn’t seem to care about being involved and having a smooth experience for clients.

Took an intro class and OMG so fun. Welcoming crowd with good chemistry made for such a fun experience overall! It was hard (duh!) but you can definitely tailor the experience to whatever you want. I bought a membership in September. I was planning on going to daily classes But The classes are often full And not available And not convenient Times. Out of the five or six instructors that I experienced only one was actually worth paying. I was in a car accident Membership because I couldn't physically do it for a while. Then my situation changed completely because a series of events after an accident. I tried to cancel Last month and did I paid $135 for the month and $100 cancellation fee I have only been maybe five times total to the studio. So basically I paid 100 a calss. And they're not going to give me my money back and I never got my shoes that I was supposed to get when I paid for it to begin with.

No compassion and just want your cash I physically cannot go there anymore I haven't been there I don't want to pay for months of dancing that I can't do.

This place is so special. Never have I ever felt so free to be myself in a group/class setting. The sense of community and support is top notch, not to mention the heart and talent that each owner & instructor brings to the space. I feel lucky to be a part of this PBA community. EDIT: Saddened to make this update. The owners of PBA (who I did not know and never saw during my time there) have effectively driven out the entire black community at their studio. At the time of writing this, all but one instructor has resigned. The instructors were the heart and soul of the place and made it the safe, fun, and productive environment that it was. The lack of care, accountability, or self-awareness of their wrongdoings has been outrageous; posting AI-generated statements (not apologies), copying and pasting generic and soulless responses to each instructor that resigned, and telling their community they're hiring new instructors the same day as the mass exodus, with no reflection for why everyone was led to quit. As if their instructors are easily replaceable. Students who disagree with the owners are removed from the community chat or blocked in retaliation. It is my hope that they will decide to transfer ownership of the Charlotte location to someone else because they have left a horrid stain on the entire business. But considering that would require them to take accountability for how their actions have harmed black women, I won't hold my breath.

My favorite pole studio in Charlotte! PBA has a beautiful space, a wide range of class offerings, knowledgeable and talented instructors, and the warmest and most supportive community I've ever encountered. I came in with some previous experience and the instructors were great in helping me advance to the level that felt appropriate for me. The studio has a clear curriculum to help guide you through your pole journey whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, and there's truly something for everyone! They also sell attire, heels, and grip aids on site which is super convenient. I wanna give a special shout out to The Aud Poler who was instrumental in my growth and confidence on pole!

I used to visit this studio when I traveled and I never will again. A black women expressed safety concerns and they called her aggressive and unprofessional. They keep saying social media only shows one side of the story but we've seen screenshots and responses from both sides. People who SEE can see clearly what went down. If you are a POC I would advise please visit another studio. They do not support you here.

First time seeing pole body and arts was Charlotte pride 2023, they were absolutely stunning and such a welcoming community, as a bigger girl I always had trouble expressing self confidence, so to push myself I took a intro into pole class about 2 weeks after they opened the Winston Salem doors, my first class was such an amazing experience. The instructor was so helpful and very kind to me and everyone there , they taught me a dance within a hour that helped me boost my confidence, I had to take more than just one class. Overall, the instructors and management are amazing people who helped me so much build confidence and helped me feel better about myself. Thank you, Pole body and arts.

I just want to say that I have never felt more loved and accepted as I have when I went to visit PBA. The atmosphere is very welcoming and hospitable. I am a beginner just trying to find my place in the pole community, and trust me when I say that I have a long way to go! I was so nervous for that first class that was taught by Olivia. She was so patient, kind and understanding. Not once did she make me or anyone in the class feel anything less than awesome. I cant wait to go back and start getting ahead of this holiday weight. I will say though that the class completely kicked my butt. I had no idea I could hurt in the places that I am hurting. It is not for the weak that is for sure! Definitely make sure that you stretch! I hope that anybody that is feeling down or out of place and looking to start something new reads this and takes a chance with PBA. I am so excited that I have and cant wait to see results and make new friends.

So grateful for PBA! This studio is a wonderful place to grow in strength, confidence, and community. Pole itself is a wonderful activity to try if you’ve been looking for an opportunity to dance as an adult or just a fun way to get into a fitness routine. The community and environment at PBA is set up so you can explore pole with talented guidance, good music, and great friends. You will have fun, you will unleash something inside of yourself that has been waiting to make a debutβ€”just give it a try!! :)

I spent two years absolutely in love with this place. Joining the pole dance community was the best thing I have ever done for my mental and physical health, and that is all because of the absolutely incredible instructors that were employed here. Sadly, I have just cancelled my membership. Almost all of their POC instructors and students have been pushed out due to poor management and racially motivated aggression. The pole dance community is strong, inclusive, and safe, and that is not reflected in the management of this studio. Pole dance as we know it today was created by black women - please find a place that supports them.

I was a member of this studio since October 2021 and decided to end my time here after various things came to light: (1. A black member raised concerns about her safety due to spacing in the small room and her membership was wrongfully terminated, while labeling her as aggressive and unprofessional even though she pays the owners to provide a safe environment. (2. Instead of addressing their wrongdoings, they decided to actively block members and other individuals calling them out on social media until it went viral then decided to post an apology created by ChatGPT. In an attempt to clear the air, they decided to host a member meeting in which they lied repeatedly and did not take accountability for any of their actions. (3. Their instructors did not feel appreciated or respected since management changed (not one but two black owners left on separate occasions for the same principles). (4. After showing there were no REAL efforts to make changes, ALL BUT ONE instructor left and the owners sent everyone the same copy and paste message, clearly showing they still did not care about the instructors who literally built the PBA Community. (5. Both owners have been unfollowing and blocking current and past members from social media channels, again showing they don’t care and the lack of emotional maturity. Both of them just want to sweep this situation under a rug and ignore taking any accountability. Very disappointing how all of this was handled as this was a place I used to speak HIGHLY of and called home. I don’t recognize this studio anymore and would not recommend.

Editing my previous 5 star review:

The space itself is nice and in my brief 8 months at this studio I never had a bad class, due to the amazing teachers and community. However the owners blatant mishandling of events, including deleting messages, removing members from public forums, and canceling memberships to the point where most of the staff I love resigned, has left a foul taste in my mouth that also caused me to leave. I would love to keep coming to this space as is it close to my home, but not in its current state. I don't know the whole story of the drama that went down behind the scenes, but some of my personal friends were mistreated and I will not stand for that. I sincerely hope the owners reflect and decide to refund the "cancellation fee" they charged every student upon the mass exodus. They should not be making a profit off people trying to remove themselves from a toxic situation. Very disappointed in the management the last month. So many people leaving should tell you a lot, even if they are trying to shove it under the rug and silence voices.

I attended PBA from Aug 2021- Nov 2024. When I found this studio it became my safe space. I gained various relationships and advanced in pole greatly and for that I am thankful. HOWEVER, over the past year or so the environment in the studio took a turn for the absolutely worst. So much so I didn’t even feel comfortable stepping into the studio toward the end of my membership. Unbeknownst to me PBA had been earning a reputation of discriminatory and unprofessional behavior towards its co-owners, instructors, and members. I became aware of this behavior when a friend of mine was wrongfully terminated for providing feedback to the owners about changes made at the studio that affected the safety of students. Instead of taking heed to the feedback she was terminated, banned from the studio, and labeled as β€œaggressive and unprofessional.” These words hold a lot of weight when used to describe a black woman and ultimately feeds the stereotype already placed on the minority group. Although this angered me greatly, I thought I would approach the situation in a private manner. I wrote a professional letter directly to the owners expressing my concerns and was later blocked from the community’s communication channels along with many other members of color. When I asked why they could not give me a direct answer but instead blame shifted between the two owners, Tiffany and Olivia. After being a member for 3 years, I was devastated at the way they treated me and manyyyyy other members that kept the studio afloat. Not to mention their public apology for my friend’s wrongful termination did not include any accountability but instead labeled the incident as β€œsocial media drama.” Needless to say PBA and its owners Tiffany and Olivia will not get another penny from me. They have been and continue to disrespect and hurt people with their thoughtless actions and unprofessional business interactions. This studio does not deserve the support of the black community as they have repeatedly shown us that we are not valued. Since the indecent many members and all but one instructor has left the studio to find a safer pole space. To this day the owners will not take accountability for anything they have done and people like that should not run a business. So if you’re a racist this is a great place for you, but for anyone else -10000/10 do not recommend. Spend your dollars somewhere they are actually appreciated.

I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at Pole Body and Arts. As a Black woman, I saw how they treated another black woman terribly and unfairly by both the the receptionist, Nora, and the owners. They labeled her as "aggressive" and "unprofessional," simply because she expressed any concerns or asked questions. It was clear to me that they were more interested in making themselves look good than in addressing legitimate feedback from paying customers.

To make matters worse, they seem to have a pattern of lying about their clients and what happens in classes to cover up their mistreatment. It's not just herβ€”several other people of color have shared similar experiences. They recently had all their instructors quit, and it's obvious that the toxic work environment is why they can't keep instructors.

I was shocked to find that they hired a new instructor who isn’t even certified in pole, yet she's teaching pole classes. This is extremely concerning, as safety is already a major issue at the studio. When members raise safety concerns, they're either ignored or dismissed. This place is a disaster, and I would strongly caution anyone, especially people of color, from supporting them. There are so many other studios out there that genuinely care about their clients, their instructors, and creating a welcoming, safe space for everyone. Please visit @Purppoles to see how she was treated. And others in the comments saying the same thing.

This studio was supposed to be a SAFE SPACE, but instead it ended up tearing the pole and BIPOC community apart. They made great instructors of color leave because of the unjust way the OWNERS treated MANY black women customers and teachers! It's a sad time in the pole community. This studio is a disgrace for what our community stands for. I was taken away from my siSTARS suddenly without proper goodbyes and I will NEVER forgive this studio for the treatment given to all who gave years of loyalty to this place! Never again! I recommend ChateauWo or another safe studio in Charlotte!

I once gave PBA a 5 star review after my first intro class with an instructor who is no longer with the studio. I have since deleted that review and am replacing with this one. My intro instructor is no longer with PBA, as well as several other Black instructors, students, and even owners. I became a member at PBA because I wanted to support a business that I believed shared my values, but I am now of the opinion that the owners of this establishment only using the language of inclusivity for marketing purposes. It is my opinion that they fail to provide a truly inclusive and safe environment for students and staff alike, evidenced by their inability to receive feedback from Black women without making it out to be a personal attack and retaliating by cancelling memberships and creating a hostile working environment. Many of the one star reviews you are now seeing are from long time members of several years, who I would assume that, like me, very much once believed in PBA’s stated mission as evidenced by their multi-year patronage of the establishment. If you are in the Charlotte area and looking for a pole studio, I would strongly urge you to take heed of these recent reviews and consider if this is the type of business you want to support financially.

Becoming really disappointed in the direction the studio has been heading ever since Jball left. You can't call yourself inclusive if you don't accomodate for all body sizes and heights. It is concerning that a studio all about community and safeness is making such poor judgement calls when it comes to concerns and feedback from their students. The studio used to feel like a family where it felt safe to voice concerns without the fear of negative repercussions. Things feel so disconnected and broken now and I just hope BPA can find their grace and make things right. An auto generated apology note on an Instagram story isn't it.

I am going to honest, I am not in tune with a lot of much situations. But when it comes to black women, I am going to always show up and show out. To be in 2024, and in this political climate, words such as β€œaggressive” towards a black woman are not only racist but truly disappointing. If a woman who happens to be black woman comes to you with concerns of her safety, like a recent event and your response is to cancel her membership and attempt to label her as the aggressor is appalling. Owners do better and stop allowing old mindsets cloud your judgements.

All I am going to say is this. If you care about having your voice being heard and your safety, stay clear of this place cause it ain’t it.

Most supportive, loving and safe space ever. The owners and Instructors are all amazing and beautiful souls.

Update: it used to be supportive and loving but they’ve managed to drive out a big chunk of the black instructors and co-owner with their micro-aggressions and racism. They dont take feedback well & dont apologize or take real accountability when pointed out. Its sad and unfortunate, because I used to love it here.

I’ve been pole dancing on and off since 2014 and have been to numerous studios both domestically and internationally and can honestly say PBA’s Winston Salem location is easily top three studios I have attended. I can’t believe this establishment is in Winston Salem! Tiffany and Olivia (owners) are professional, supportive, engaged and world class. The class layouts and test out process is clear and I love that they have posters in the studio explaining which moves are in which level. I’ve had classes with 5 different instructors and they’re all phenomenal. I will say Dez and Tiffany are my favorites but I’ve never had a bad class. After plateauing in my pole journey after many years, I’ve been able to learn new moves and unlock potential I did not know I had. While I am an experienced poler, I can confidently say this studio is beginner friendly and so approachable for those who has no or little experience. I love that this is a queer friendly space and inclusive of all genders and expressions. I immediately felt at home at this studio and it’s honestly the best part of living in Winston Salem. I happily support this business and cannot wait to watch it grow over time!

My friend suggested I do this class with her because I’ve had ALOT going on. We went to the introduction class and I was sooo nervous. However, as the class continued I experienced a confidence I never have before! I felt free, liberated, beautiful, and confident in my body! I strongly recommend this class to anyone to try! Not to mention it’s a great workout lol I was sore the next day! I was working out without even realizing it, which is so up my alley lol. I would love to get the membership soon!

This review is overdue. As an activity to do something new, I took an intro class on Friday, 01-13-23.

I was very nervous but I made it thru the class. It was a good workout. There was a nice amount of people in the class but not too many for the instructor to not be available to give feedback. The staff seemed diverse. I'm not sure if I'd return, but it was a good experience.

I had an amazing time with the private class with the ORIGINAL owner before she left (i forgot her name the black girl). The place and classes are great.. I just forewarn you all to just be careful when signing up for a membership and needing to cancel as the co-owner Olivia is very unprofessional and disrespectful. Just be mindful who we give our money and time too. Experience the fun for yourselves but just be mindful that if you ask questions or provide feedback of any kind that some are not receptive of constructive criticism to help improve and ensure to keep customers happy.

Instructor was amazing. I have a condition with my back that causes pain so I had to keep taking breaks and sitting down. I was in pain but didn't wanna ruin it for the other girls. Not once did she call me out like get up or why your not trying it. She even got excited when I got a move right. Nice, clean, welcoming space. Would def return

First Impression was HORRIBLE. They turn you away at the door.I need management to acknowledge your providing a service. Something ppl do for leisure. It is not required or essential so being accommodating and having decent customer service is an area you need work

Heres the scoop
1. Theres a 100 dollar cancel fee
2. Parking lot has 0 parking
3. Three flights of steps
4. I said 2&3 to let you kno if your "5" mins late they turn you away. I was there for the 245 class and the receptionist turned me away at 247 saying they will not open doors. If im PAYING for a service those doors better open.
5. The Google pics are misrepresentation PLEASE

i may try it one more time only because it's closes to me but if i have this experience again i will drive 30 mins elsewhere and spend my hard earned money to folks who are humble and appreciative. & I WILL leave another review.

First time I came, I fell in love. This time, it was ok. Table wasn't in the room when I came. They then put the table under the chairs (chairs where hanging up) where I had food which was a little off. I had to tell one instructor that came in no. She was literally about to swing her chair up above our catered food. Secondly, they changed my instructor at the last minute and told me the instructor I had was experienced. There was certain stuff she couldn't do. We had Zoya and Whit before who could do what my guest wanted so that sucked. I really enjoyed our instructor as a person but she just couldn't do what we expected.

I have been attending the studio since they opened and becoming a member is the best thing that could’ve happened to me! I drive an hour and a half each way to attend classes and I’m never disappointed. It’s always such a friendly and supportive atmosphere from the second you walk into the space. I particularly appreciate all the cleaning protocols and COVID precautions they took during the pandemic to keep the students safe. Because I work in a nursing home, I have been especially cautious during the pandemic and didn’t feel comfortable working out at a regular gym due to all the shared equipment etc but always felt very safe coming to classes! I could go on, but the best thing anyone can do is come to the studio and experience it yourself πŸ’•

My experience at this studio has been a 10/10. I was taking private lessons with Tiffany at a different pole studio to begin with. She then decided to launch a pole studio of her own and I just had to follow her there. I did like the studio before but walking into Tiffany’s new studio- I felt so much more welcome and everyone there is so friendly and kind. I felt a sense of family at her studio that I did not feel at the other one. Everyone is welcome and there are so many different classes to choose from.
Tiffany has a way of connecting with people that is unmatched. I felt a bond with her, I felt safe and she was always so supportive on my good and bad days. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of something so magical! Love you guys!

For someone with hardcore anxiety, visiting a new place is quite terrifying. However, I showed up to find an extremely welcoming atmosphere full of smiling faces and it just melted the anxiety away.
