JC Creative Designs had an amazing experience as a vendor at the Nov. 8th popup! We met so many wonderful people and truly enjoyed every moment. The staff was incredible—organized, friendly, and so supportive. Thank you for all your hard work in putting together such a great event. We can’t wait to be part of the next one!

I find it incredibly alarming that this is the only ymca that doesn’t not allow a guest pass and requires you come with a member! Just to be a guest! I’ve also called all the surrounding ones and they ALL allow guest passes. All I wanted to do was a couple laps in the pool and was gonna bite the bullet and pay for a month membership only to find out the ONLY way to cancel is a 30 day WRITTEN NOTICED you must hand in. This place is a SCAM and is clearly only meant for people in a certain spending bracket. DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat. WASTE OF MONEY!

I do not recommend. Ashlee King sent me an invoice after a year of not going to the YMCA. No one called me or emailed to let me know that I was still being charged even though I had not been there in over a year. When I asked her for a copy of the contract and a copy of all my visits she would not send these documents. She refused to take the balance off my account, stating that I had to cancel in writing. This is not a family establishment, they prey on the lower class in hopes they forget to cancel so they can charge astronomical pricing. There is no way in gods green earth that I have used almost 900 dollars worth of services, there is no way they have wasted 900 dollars worth of admin time trying to collect. This is the first I am hearing of payment collections. Zero stars they suck and don’t know how to properly reconcile with customers.

I am noticing they seem to have different rules for different members, so far not very inclusive either.. I keep trying to see if it improves but so far experiences haven’t been great…. I actually had a guest curse me out today because I asked that she please not throw her items on top of our drinks due to our allergies to which is she was rude , we have also had an issue with the one female Lifeguard she’s extremely rude!!

The lady at the front desk Theresa was super rude to me today. She had a very bad attitude . I was taking my son to open swim and she mentioned a fee on our account. She couldn’t tell me what the fee was for after I repeatedly asked her. She just didn’t respond to my questions after a while and gave me a silent treatment. Thankfully Ashlee, the membership rep was able to assist me with the issue. The lady Theresa then proceeded to debate if me and my partner were allowed to watch my son swim as he is the only one with a membership. I would never have someone with her temperament and lack of empathy or respect to represent the YMCA at the front desk when the members are the ones paying her paycheck . This brown lady should have definitely treated her own the way she would want to be treated. Seems like she is racist against her own race. Beware of her is all I have to say.

I used to come here all the time as a kid, loving every experience and having no issues with any member of staff. As I've become older, I don't visit as often, but when I do it's only for a few hours.
My experience last Sunday was profoundly absurd in ways I'm still trying to comprehend. Whoever the lady is that works the front desk on weekends (maybe weekends, I only have seen her on Sundays) is a complete contradiction of what the YMCA stands for. I walk in and noticed her in an argument with an older family trying to sort out their membership. All I can hear is "Sorry it's been terminated, you need to talk to a supervisor". They family remained calm and collected, asking questions to help find a solution so they can enter, yet this woman continued to neglect and ignore what they were saying.
Later, I asked gentleman at the front desk if he would be willing to raise one of the goals so we can play basketball, and she interrupts saying "we can't give the raiser to anyone except for coaches", which I respond by saying "I don't want it, I'm asking for help", then reacts with an incredibly smug look on her face...
Lastly, as closing time approaches, we're asked to wrap things up and head out, which we do. The time is 4:53 and I start stretching and packing my things to leave and so do the other players. A younger group of girls and their parents had volleyball practice on the court next to me. This woman is only yelling at us and rushing us to get out, standing and watching as we all pack our things and try to get going. I stretch a little longer than most because I'm a little older and play more often, and during my entire routine, this woman as not taken her eyes off me, making me abnormally uncomfortable, and that's very difficult to do! I point over to the other court where the girls and parents were, and ask her "are you going to yell at them and make them get out?" and she says "no." -- So at this point I'm wildly confused as to why her demeanor and lack of character were so spiteful towards me and others. It's not something the Youth Men's Christian Association believes in (to my knowledge) nor has it ever been an issue in the past.
Maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she was in trouble for being lenient in the past and felt that acting in a more cold and snide way was the only way for her to get her points across. Whatever the underlying conditions were, she must realize that she represents the YMCA and behaving the way she did affects her brand and reputation, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, but perhaps the only one willing to write this long of a message. Hopefully it reaches the right person.

Front desk employees are rude and don't assist customers correctly. Stay alert when opening a Membership, employees tend to charge you for a wrong amount, give you inaccurate information and will change your Membership policíes without previous notice, making you look bad in public when it is their mistake. The membership director King doesn't know how to address this inconvenient effectively, intimidating customers and making them feel targeted. Someone needs to do something about it, we need change.
We, the customers, don't have control of the membership category they enroll us in their system. Our responsibility as customers is to provide our info and pay the amount agreed at the beginning of our contracts. It is illegal to change policies, especially prices, once we have started our memberships. It is their responsibility to train the staff and keep a transparent register of their members. It has happened twice to me already, first one last year in 2023 and again now in 2024 when they were supposed to rectify their mistake so I coukd finally be in the right one. They keep giving me a wrong membership and stopping me at the entrance, telling me that my membership doesn't look good when it is their responsibility to enter the correct data on their systems. This behavior is wrong and should be audited asap.
This is real life, they cannot play with customers, as members, we want to be able to exercise without worrying that they are messing up again with our memberships. If they make a mistake, they should keep their word because their professional credibility as an institution is at risk. I would like to receive an apology for all the harm caused by their negligence instead of Kings' wrong behavior of believing that they have the reason when there are several alerts ⚠️ that something is not ok with their administration and the care they show for their customers.

Had to make a quick Plan B when I showed up at the Zoo with 6 kids, only to find out the kids play area was closed due to a copperhead sighting and that was our only purpose of going. We pivoted and ended up at the Y for their splash pad instead. What a great facility! Staff were all so kind and accommodating! Plenty of shade and seating, and the concession stand was a hit with the freeze pops. Changing rooms were clean and plentiful. We will certainly be back!

This is a very nice “Y”. I have been to at least four different Y’s in different areas and this is the top one. The weight area is large with lots of nice and kept up equipment. They even have people cleaning the equipment throughout the day which is a plus. The people who work there are super friendly. If you are doing free weights or machines they have plenty of choices in one of the largest workout areas I have been to. I would highly recommend this Y for anyone wanting to join a gym.

I am beyond grateful for the YMCA as they watch my son for after school childcare. They go above and beyond to have kid activities and be involved in things like making greenhouse’s and growing plants. They ensure the kids have a “kids night out”which gives adults time to do things as well. It’s an excellent program! One in which I am grateful for!!!

The soccer field&playground is becoming a gang hangout for unsupervised youth. Mostly on the weekends, late in the afternoons when I walk. I've seen bullying& fights among the kids. Foul language directed toward senior citizens trying to walk. No parents in sight. The track isn't a free daycare.

This review is on the splash pad only. This used to be a place my 2 kids (7 & 11) begged to go & we used to go weekly before covid. It was always a great experience. We decided to go for the first time since covid on Tuesday 7/12/22. My kids were both super excited. Unfortunately we left after only being there 45 minutes.
1st. There was a group of high school age kids hanging around the concession stand which was obviously fine, until they started cussing loudly that my children & I could hear.
2nd. The 2 ladies working at the concession stand were more interested in having a conversation with gentleman then doing their job. My oldest had to go around to the side of the concession stand to get someone's attention to get bandaids for his brother which is where number 3 comes in👇🏼
3rd. Granted it has been 2 years since we visited I don't remember the concrete being so slippery! My youngest was mostly playing on the yellow concrete area and he fell numerous times (no he was not running). My oldest hung out in the blue painted area and didn't have any trouble 🤷🏻♀️
4th. We were about ready to go, we didn't appreciate the bad language & obviously my child kept getting hurt. What really infuriated me was the last time my son fell 2 of the young gentleman walked by and started laughing at my injured child!! Like really? I let it go because they are "kids" but that was uncalled for. We got up and left immediately after that.
It's extremely disappointing that a place my kids looked forward to going and we spent hours at is no longer a place they want to visit.

Started running here at 8:30pm at the track since I attend school near and work. This is my first time running here and I felt very uncomfortable running here with cars slowing down near me and random cars driving around the building (and not going in obviously) :( wish there was a way for people who run when it’s kinda dark due to work/school to feel safe and not like they’re being watched

Came to the y to watch a t-ball game. Was strongly considering memberships for my family as well as my friend for her family. We were playing with a ball that was here (it was here in previous games as well) and this very rude and arrogant man decided no one was allowed to play with them. Not knowing if we were members or not, just assuming so because we were waiting up at the field for the game to start. Wonder how long he's been employed here and if that's how they run the show around here. Very disappointing. The likely hood of us or out friend getting a membership now is slim to none. Damn shame to.

Used to be a member of this facility. Was going to join again with our family only to find out my kids can only swim between a 2 hour time frame in the late evening. It's just not right adult swim is pretty much all day but families can't swim until late evening and for a short period of time! I guess families are not as welcome as we thought! Who wants to pay that much a month when your kids can't enjoy it!

Took the family out and used the ball field and playground (which was free to use). Nice amount of land to play soccer, but the ball field was a bit small. Kept kicking the ball over the fence or hitting the ball over, but had a great time. They do have one of the biggest playground around with options for younger kids, however it needs a major update. I would love to see them invest in an accessible/inclusive playground and the driveway needs paved. Although we didn’t use it, I hear great things about the inside facilities as well as their cool splash pad.

Visited this YMCA on 12/14/2020. Took a tour of the facility. I am well acquainted with Y's. I also am proficient with functional fitness training. As soon as I was told that I could not access the 'beastmode' room for my training evolutions outside of 'beastmode' classes they lost me on the membership. The Y is still playing catch up to the needs of the people. So unfortunate. If management would reconsider, and be willing to have a conversation with me here about the possibilities, this would be much more ideal.

If you are a student, then great. You can't beat it. Great facilities. Weight room , showers , the works, pool, sauna. But they really need to take a look at their prices. 70 for a family isn't terrible. But for many families it's way out of reach. 70 a month is a burden to take on for probably 75% of the families in this county. I called about a one person membership. I thought maybe I could start working out a couple days a week. I was told 47.00 a month. That is ridiculous for the average person going 6,7, 8 times a month. Eventually it will bite them. Mark my words.

Its an okay gym but there is a lot that could be improved. The showers area are usually pretty dirty. Also the pool area is a bit run down and looks pretty dirty as well. One other thing I have noticed is the workout machines are rusty in spots. We also signed my son up for soccer and at the time we were told the coach would give us a call about practice. Well that call never came instead we had to try and get in touch with the coach so we could figure out when practice was. We ended up just taking him to the games without practice. Unfortunately he was not comfortable with it and never would go and play. Which may have been different if he would have been able to practice. One other thing that is a turn off is you must set up auto payments. I would prefer not to give out my bank account information out. One of the worst things is the hours. They charge more then any gym in town but yet they are closed more than any other gym.

Overall experience was great, but an unhappy child is not good. Her favorite thing in the world is the hot tub, and she's not allowed to get in, which upset her and we had to leave!!! I think if the parent is with their child then they should be allowed to get in. There is usually no age on being able to get in other than being sick or something like that and in older ppl. We would visit all the time if she could get in the hot tub with me.

I have a problem with not having a restroom at the soccer practice and the game. I don't think that one port-a-John is enough for all the people on Saturday's and the fact that the one that is there no longer has a door. With the money that all the people pay for soccer it would be nice if it were used for soccer. I sent a message to the Asheboro YMCA with no response back about the issue ( not really a suprise ). I just don't think that having 2 restroom to use is to much to ask.
