I began Super Slow training several months ago after a debilitating flare of arthritis. My ultimate goal was to regain the strength I lost during my incapacitation and return to practicing Vinyasa yoga. Abby was instrumental in helping me achieve this! When I am in Chicago, I attend Super Slow in the city, and Abby's studio is on par with the routine I do there. Super Slow is one of the most effective workouts in physical fitness, and Abby used her expertise to personalize a plan specifically for me. Highly recommend!

I wanted to pursue super slow weight training and was wonderfully surprised when I found out Asheville had a gym and a trainer! I have been going for six months. I have seen major improvement in my muscle strength and tone. The workouts are demanding and I need Abby's encouragement to press through but once a week for 15 minutes...I can do that!

I have been working weight training at Rockbottoms for about 7 years. I began knowing it would help build bone, essential as we age. The added benefit was how as my strength increased, my body changed, and my overall fitness. It is one one training, which also prevents injury that working at a regular gym without correction for form is more likely to occur.

I've worked with Abby for about a year and a half and I have seen a marked improvement in my strength and confidence. As a 70-year-old with osteoporosis, after my doctor recommended weight training to complement my aerobic workouts, I came to Rock Bottoms because I had read about the Super Slow Fitness protocol and how it can improve strength and bone density and Abby is a certified SuperSlow Instructor. Working with Abby has been very good - she's knowledgeable and positive, attentive and encouraging, while helping me push myself harder than I would all on my own. I haven't had another bone density scan yet since beginning this work with Abby - but the last time I went to the doctor, I was surprised to see that the inch or so in height I'd lost over the last few years had returned...so it certainly seems to be helping.

Rock Bottoms came into my life in January 2017. Staying with their weight training program on a regular basis has increased my strength, core stability, and muscle mass. As a Certified Yoga instructor of 18+ years and a recently Certified NASM Personal Trainer, I recognize the excellence of the trainers at RBs and their professional guidance through the weight training process. As muscle strength increases, so does the load on the weight machines, which allows the body to adapt to progressively increasing loads in a safe, effective manner. Additionally, by purposefully exhausting the muscles being used, the bones take on more effort, which cascades nutrients into the bones with the potential of increasing bone density. The trainers vary the workout routine so as to keep the sessions interesting and varied. This is a one-on-one training studio, and there are never more than two trainers working with clients at any session. The space is well-done, free from loud music and other distractions found in the usual gym setting. Each session is 30 minutes and easily fits into my schedule. Whatever your fitness goals, I confidently give Rock Bottoms the highest possible rating!

I have been working with Abby for three years now. My leg press ability has increased by 100 pounds and my pull down by 70 pounds. I feel stronger and am hoping to stave off the osteoporosis that runs in my family. The facility is amazing and I have worked with the other trainers at the facility as well. Everyone is very professional and safety is paramount.
