About the Club

Nestled in a pristine 150-acre piece of family farmland in the woods of East Lincoln County, Sally’s YMCA opened in 2011. The effort to build the branch was led by David and Jo Clark to honor the giving spirit of their daughter, Sally Mackenzie Clark who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2004.

Together, the Lincoln County YMCA and Sally’s YMCA strengthens the foundation of the community and serves more than 20,000 people each year. The Y is proud to be Lincoln County’s largest childcare provider, serving more than 300 children weekly in our preschool, afterschool, homeschool and camp programs. Check out the Sally's YMCA group fitness schedule for classes nearby!

The old woman working the front desk named Tara on August 24th is rude and disrespectful. No need to be an old grouch! If your that unhappy go home.

Fine, if you’re not coming for the pool. If there is thunder in a 30 mile radius they will close. Which is almost every afternoon during the Summer. So don’t make a drive.

Great programs for children! The youth programs are very organized and affordable. Great events for the community. We look forward to the Halloween and Christmas events every year. The staff is so welcoming and nice. The facilities are always clean. I’ve been a member for 3 years and have never been disappointed.

This Ymca needs to be investigated badly. Nothing is Christian about this ymca and the meneger name Rebecca Grobe will not return any phone call. If you have any Complain they do not take you seriously there stuff needs training I would not recommend this pacific ymca to anyone with young kids. I want to update on this gym this ymca was getting better but they have older men there that seriously will forse conversations and Interrupt your work out and stuff looking does nothing atleast tell the members to respect people who are there to work out.

The ymca itself is fine. My daughter goes to camp there, I dont use the facilities. I just sign up for a membership to get the discounted rates for my daughter, but the fact that I have to come in person to fill out a form in order to cancel my membership is insane. It's 2024 and this screams of tactics to discourage you to come in and makes it way less convient just to get rid of a membership. For that reason I'm giving 3 stars. Very anti consumer and I won't be signing for another membership. I will continue to utilize them for their camps durring the summer though.

I love this Y, but they have removed most if the evening classes. It wouls be great if you added some a few days a week.

Still no indoor swimming pool after how many years? This is disappointing given that it was supposed to be installed by opening day.

Really enjoyed this place until today. Had an issue with my membership at the entry, which is okay, usually not something that would upset me. But the front desk lady was so rude. The situation was not her fault, that I understand. But absolutely so disrespectful in tone while being so nice to everyone else that came in. Not sure if she was upset she had to get up to help me or just racist. Needless to say, won't renew membership now.

Just joined very recently. Compared to most gyms you are getting more things for about the same money. So happy with the facility and the employees! Thus far have not had to wait for any piece of equipment in the gym, and all the other gym goers are very respectful of the other people in the gym. The only drawback is there is no indoor pool. You can't have everything!

Tricked into setting up a ymca membership for one month free to try then charged before end of month. Bait and switch. Will no longer be member of ymca. Then was told there’s nothing that can be done.

Every staff I have encounter had been friendly and professional. But the faculty is small compared to other Y’s, only an outdoor pool that seems to be more for children. They also do not offer a lot of fitness classes and the times of classes are more in the day.

It's a great Y but such limited hours that we're going to switch to a different gym. 100% sure that now people will join if they increase weekend hours & install sauna & steam. 🤞

This is such a nice community place. It is a big pricey but worth it. I like the summer camps for the kids.

Sally's is a nice facility with plenty of barbell, dumbbell, kettle bell and machine equipment for lifting and plenty of cardio equipment. They also have a half sized basketball court, an outdoor pool and some pretty good walking trails.

I really love this Ymca!! Grew up swimming here as well as volunteering as a camp counselor. Then years later I became a lifeguard and it’s so great to be able to work at Sally’s Pool!! The staff are amazing to work with and it’s nice to see some friendly members walk in and have a great time.

Such a wonderful place to take children for learning to swim and water therapy! The life guards were very nice and attentive and it was a very clean establishment. Rebecca, Jessica, Javier were so kind and inviting. The membership was one of the highlights of my son’s and my summer! Thank you for all you do!

I out my 3 year old in swim classes. They were unorganized, not consistently b/t teachers. Class sizes most days were 9 kids to 1 instructor for 30 mins! 10 out of 10 wouldn't recommend if your serious about teaching your child to float, swim.

I always enjoy going to this location. Not heavily populated like Dowd and they have top of the line gym equipment. The facility is clean and the staff are extremely friendly. Hope they get a sauna and steam room soon.

Worked out here for the first time the other week. The facility is nice and so was the staff. Wish they had a steam room like the LKN YMCA. Overall I enjoyed it though!

Horrible. Our 6 year old son went to summer camp here for only 4 weeks and the things he told us that went on were unacceptable for a Christian based organization. The counselors could care less about taking care of the children. We had to speak to the leaders multiple times as they were oblivious to what was going on. He would come home begging not to go back. I will NEVER return, nor will I recommend to any parent.

John Doe who wrote the second review must not know what YMCA stands for from its beginning - Young Men's Christian Association. He also must not have read "Sally's Story" as she embodied what the YMCA stands for ...
I have just joined and could not have found people to be any more friendly and helpful. The location is a beautiful setting and a beautiful facility. I think I'm going to love being a member!

Been going to the Y since I was a little kid. Never once was the church thing apparent. Well forget about this place they play church music in the front entrance. That is just too much. plus for the ameneties this place is way the heck over priced and kids in work out area is a headache. this is a local yokal joint.

I have been going to the YMCA all over greater Charlotte and in other cities across the US, which gives me a unique perspective about each facility.
Sally’s positives:
as clean as they come,
friendly,
knowledgeable staff,
decent amounts of different cardio equipment,
not overcrowded,
free weights or machines available,
childcare,
outdoor pool,
basketball court (great shape),
Decent variety of classes
Sally’s negatives:
They need more bikes for spin class and a better room,
More class options,
Indoor pool with deep water for classes and water running

Dedicated functional fitness room:
With TRX, weights, weighted balls, kettle bells, rowing machines, bikes, and climbers, indoor track,
Cross fit type equipment ( even though I am not a big fan of cross fit itself), just like some of the equipment

More classes like myofascial release foam rolling, ball rolling, deep stretch,

I give Sally’s four out of five stars because it’s still evolving but doing a great job with what they have!

I've worked out at many YMCAs. Signed up two weeks ago and had an extremely angry guy get hostile with me for taking two 25lb plates that he wasn't using. Never had anyone talk to me like that. Today on New year's Eve I called to see what the hours were and it said 1-5. Went there at 3:40 and thought I had time for a quick workout and it was closed at 4. Said something to a front desk lady and she really didn't seem to care. Change the times on your website and recording so people don't waste their time. My wife and I pay more because of our income and we will cancel our membership and go elsewhere. Poor customer service and not welcoming at all. Would give it zero stars but not able to. Very disappointed.

Went there almost 4 years and they try to raise my membership to $67.00, up from $54.00. Too expensive. Why should I have to pay more for working my butt off at my job when others do not. The income based rate policy is horrible.
