I’ve been going to Westside Pilates for a few years. Irrum is able to personalize my work outs based on past injuries. There is such a light, warm atmosphere. I highly recommend this place if you are into Pilates or Pilates-curious!!!

Skye was just so good about figuring out all the possible techniques she could use to help my situation. This was a first visit. Skye was really helpful and explained everything she was doing and was very attentive to my physical reactions. She is very gentle but quite skilled. I feel she has an excellent intuitive sense.
I understand that acupuncture can take awhile to relieve a problem. To my surprise I started to feel some positive results the next day. Look forward to my next appointment.

I’ve been working with Ann at Westside Pilates and Acupuncture for over a year now, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful she’s been as my Pilates instructor. After undergoing double hip surgery in March of last year, my goal was to maintain flexibility and rebuild muscular strength safely. Ann has been an incredible support in helping me achieve that and more.
Every Thursday, she tailors our sessions to my needs, ensuring I’m moving in ways that feel both challenging and secure. Her expertise and attentiveness have made a huge difference in my recovery and overall mobility. I cannot say enough great things about Westside Acupuncture & Pilates! Especially with regards to Irrum Shah who has been my pilates instructor. As someone who has worked in the Mental Healthcare industry for over the past two decades and have witnessed and felt first hand the overall impacts of the ongoing pandemic on all people yet specifically mental healthcare providers, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone-- and specifically folx working in the helping profession-- to sign up with Westside. My experience at Westside reinforces the power of working out not only our physical body but our mind, body, and spirit combined.
At Westside Acupuncture & Pilates, I am receiving one of the most comprehensive ways to care for myself as a whole rather than only in the physical sense. I have tried pilates before but never like this! Irrum teaches me how to concentrate on the deeper, core muscles rather than the superficial ones and I find myself BLOWN away at how these small, intricate movements have me working up a sweat! It has helped me to reframe my mind that used to hold the belief that I could only build up my strength by lifting heavier weights. I feel more connected to my body than ever before because of my time spent with Irrum at Westside Acupuncture & Pilates.
This experience also challenges my mind in the most incredible ways. As I progress in my abilities, Irrum can see what I am capable of doing long before my own mind is ready to comprehend let alone believe I am able to do so. She, in the most compassionate way, pushes me to drop into my body by making the physical connections that I need and then encourages me to trust and do the movement. I have been utterly amazed at what my body is capable of doing and continue to be blown away at how powerful our thoughts can be when we are faced with challenges. Her support and reminders of reconnecting with my body, emphasizing that I CAN do the movements, and reminding me she is there beside me to support me creates the pathway I need to try.... And promptly become so GIDDY that I actually did it!!!
The space within the studio is welcoming. The staff at Westside Acupuncture & Pilates are all so friendly and it makes coming to the studio as though you are coming home to family. I have the deepest gratitude to Irrum Shah for her being my Pilates instructor. At 44 years of age, I feel stronger than ever, have more clarity on the power of "feeding" myself the empowering words that I need to rewire the way I face challenges, and proud of my growth thus far-- in mind, body, and spirit!

Irrum is an excellent instructor in both the private and group setting who is in tune with how Pilates can be beneficial for specific issues and needs. As a hairstylist of 17 years, I started having really debilitating back pain that caused me to cut back my hours. Many people recommended Pilates, and so l decided to give it a try. I've never taken any type of personal or group fitness class, but Irrum instantly made me feel comfortable and at ease. I started with a month of private one on one sessions and then added in group classes as well.
My back, neck, and chronic shoulder pains genuinely approved and I can honestly say I haven't felt this pain free in many many years. I go twice a week and the pain started to disappear after around 4 weeks. I still can't believe it and I recommend Westside Pilates to everyone I can!
The space is very laid back and relaxed. I think "group exercise" intimidates a lot of people, but I immediately felt comfortable here.
Skye is also incredible for cupping, gua shua, and acupuncture.She has worked on me for years, and is magic!

The whole team at Westside is friendly and super knowledgeable. The location is convenient with lots of parking. I have transformed my body over the past 6 months with private Pilates sessions with Cindy. I told my husband that I feel stronger than I have in my entire adult life (which is saying a lot because I’ve been very physically active!). I have gotten thorough instruction that is tailored to my level and always challenged me to my limits. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Cindy’s instruction and support on this journey. I have been taking private/semi-private Pilates classes with Cindy for several months. I can 100% say that Pilates has changed my life! I've never felt more connected to my body. My 3 year-old has enlarged tonsils that may require surgery so we went to see Skye for help. And it was the most healing, calming, amazing experience. My daughter loved every minute and didn’t want to leave after one acupuncture needle (Skye showed her on a stuffed Curious George), cupping, herbs, massage with essential oils, tuning forks, etc. I highly recommend seeing Skye for a Child Treatment if your little one is sick. Even after a day, I’ve seen results.

Have you had a knee replacement? Do you have orthopedic issues? Pilates is the answer! I have been working with Cindy for several years, first as someone who had "knee issues", and now as someone who has had bilateral knee replacements. Before my knee replacements, Cindy helped me keep my flexibility and strength though every day was a challenge. She helped prepare me too, to be as fit as possible prior to having surgery. Finally, after my knee replacements, Cindy has been a godsend! I can move in ways I only dreamed of for years. I even quit PT to focus on Pilates because Cindy focuses on proper body alignment so that I am building back muscle and flexibility in a balanced way. My body functions much more effectively because of this! I can once again enjoy every aspect of being outdoors and doing activities with friends and living the life I only dreamed of. What a gift in my "senior" years!

I have been working with Skye Mallory since April 2021 with support post hysterectomy. My weekly sessions with Skye have helped me have a new appreciation for my body's innate movement towards healing, balance and harmony. Skye creates a healing space and is able to support all the ups and downs. I also appreciate her humor. I started doing Pilates with Cindy a few months ago, and it’s been the best thing for me coming back into my body postpartum! Cindy is knowledgeable and has a profound understanding of anatomy and physiology from her other career as an occupational therapist. She pushes us while being mindful about avoiding injury and she’s flexible and understanding when it comes to all of our crazy schedules. I always leave so much better. I’m a marathon runner and incorporate Pilates as apart of my training program. I work with Cindy twice a week on the reformer, wall unit and chair to strengthen my core and body in a very efficient and effective way. I’ve been working with her for years and continue to see the positive benefits of Pilates in my life and marathon training. I ran the Boston marathon last month at 52 for the third time and ran stronger and felt better than ever. I attribute this to my commitment to Pilates and working with the amazing team at Westside Pilates. The studio instructors are amazing and so knowledgeable. I love Pilates and working out with Cindy and others. It is so fun and effective in keeping me fit and strong as I age. I had never tried Pilates before, but after having two babies I wanted a safe way to get back into my body and build strength. I have had the pleasure of doing Pilates sessions with Karen for several months now via Zoom. At our initial session I explained my goals and outlined my body weaknesses and injuries, and from this Karen has created a series of exercises to address my individual needs with nothing more than a yoga mat and a hand towel! She has a very caring nature and has been helping me find my powerhouse and build up my core strength, while being mindful of my lower back problems. I am amazed at how Karen can talk me through the exercises, step by step and give me the prompts at the right time to achieve my goal. It’s as though she is in the room with me! I look forward to travelling to Asheville one day soon and being able to take classes with Karen in person.

What a relief to get back to Pilates and personal training! Every COVID precaution is followed and it's squeaky clean,. All the equipment is there for great workouts. The classes are limited to no more than 5 people and personal attention is assured. I've been to many Pilates studios in Asheville but this one is comfortable, small yet excellent.

I first began working with Cindy Gunther three years ago at Clasique Studio. Even there she was a stand out instructor. Her knowledge extends beyond Pilates as she is also an occupational therapist. Her greater knowledge has helped me as throughout my life I have had multiple back/neck/shoulder injuries. To be able to continue a rigorous workout without sustaining additional injury has been a primary goal for me. Cindy has enabled me to navigate through my body challenges and stay fit. You too would be extremely fortunate if you could work with her.
