Workout Anytime is running an illegal promo where they allow (and encourage with prizes) people to write down others names and numbers where they then text them with marketing information. I don’t even know a Megan and did not give them my information.

Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and FCC regulations, a company cannot text you for marketing purposes unless the person themself gives prior consent (which I did not), or you can give your number directly to them (which I did not as they explicitly stated that a third party gave them my number under a promotion the company is running encouraging this which is illegal.)

Because of this, what they are doing is illegal. No one should receive spam from a company without prior consent. They should practice and find better (and legal) marketing practices.

I will also be reporting them to the FCC. The person responded saying she’s sorry I feel that way when I said it was illegal but she’s just doing her job. I understand she is, but management needs to practice legal marketing.

I have no idea how you got my number... My name is not Malachi... I have no interest in a membership... Best gym around!!!! Clean and reasonable prices even for premium features. The staff are amazing and they go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable!!!! The showers are clean. That is certainly important to me as I often tan during lunch and it’s nice to feel comfortable showering there.

This gym is a scam. You must sign up for a year instead of month to month. I was told I could freeze my account if I'm out of town, and that's the ONLY reason I signed up. They now tell me they will add extra months onto my year-long membership if I freeze the account. They're like used-car salesman. Snakes & liars. Don't believe anything they tell you. They'll do everything they can to keep you from getting a copy of your contract.

I love this gym! Every other gym I’ve been to I have lost motivation. The staff are like my friends and make it something I look forward to. They always have competitions and ways to treat their members! I love that there is a commitment as well! My wife purchased a membership with this company online when it first opened. After being a member for an extended period, she decided to cancel. At that time, we were informed that one additional month’s charge would be processed due to the timing of the cancellation, which we accepted without issue.

However, the company continued to charge us every month for six additional months, along with an $39 fee. Attempts to reach a representative by phone were consistently unsuccessful, and it became clear that canceling through normal channels was not going to happen.

Ultimately, I had no choice but to contact my bank and block the company from charging our account, which was the only effective way to stop the unauthorized withdrawals.

If you read other reviews, you will see we are far from the only ones who have experienced this same problem. This appears to be a recurring pattern of questionable billing and poor customer service.

I strongly caution others to be wary of this company’s business practices and recommend extreme caution before signing any agreement with them.

One word. Scam.
This place is a scam. No one should ever have to link their bank account to a gym for a membership. That's too invasive. I, fortunately, did not allow them to have my account number, and instead got them to settle for my debit card number.
I'm so glad I did. Ive heard so many people say how impossible it is to cancel their membership, and even when you DO get it canceled, they still continue to charge you. I know two people personally that this has happened to.

Horrible experience. Most of the staff was rude during my time at this gym. I never witnessed any of the staff wipe down any of the equipment (grant it you should wipe down when your done but let's be honest not everyone does.) Then to top it off after cancelling my membership in January I realize 3 months later that they have continued to bill me and when brought to there attention they refuse to do anything about it and just keep giving me the run around. If your in the mount airy and surrounding areas I would highly recommend picking a different gym like pro health, or even the community center.

Love this gym! Very clean and plenty of equipment. Locker rooms with showers is very convenient. After a hard workout I hit the Recovery room with choice of Hydromassage, massage chairs, and sauna! Has tanning for anybody interested in that as well. They have a great personal training team here as well to help hit those new year goals!

I went to sign up for this gym with my One Pass activation code (my medical insurance pays) and even though I called them ahead of time to ask them if they accept it which they said they did. When I got there they say their particular branch does not. The owner of this branch is money hungry, one pass is accepted all over the US at all the workout Anytime locations but this one.👎🏽

Got a membership and went a couple times back at first of the year. The couple times that we went half the equipment wasn't working. Also both times the bathroom/locker room was nasty and smelt like straight urine. Called multi times to close my account and it never got closed and then they turned it over to Aldous & Associates, P.L.L.C. a collections firm. So we have now hired our own Attorney firm to fight this because I refuse to pay for this. If the place was clean and worth going to I would have continued my membership and would still be going. This is ridiculous.

Fantastic customer service! I travel a ton (so I’ve seena variety of gyms) and popped into the Mt Airy location, while on in this area. The level of customer service was above and beyond. The gym is a great size and has great equipment. The friendly manager and his outstanding efforts to help me are worth mentioning (and my encounter with members also represented the sweet southern charm). I am really impressed by this gym. I truly enjoy going here, and the people are friendly. The establishment is extremely clean and has multiple amenities. I usually go late at night and I feel safe. I signed up for informatoin on a six week program but it would not list pricing. Someone contacted me saying you have to go to an orientation and I asked for base pricing to make sure it would fit within my budget. They insisted that I have to go to the orientation to go over pricing and I said that I wanted to know base pricing to make sure I don't waste either of our time as the orientation is 30 minutes. They instantly cancelled my appointment and did not even let me know. I received an email saying it was cancelled and no response from them. Awful customer service and pushy sales tactics.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP. No way to cancel until a year even if you lose your job and they charge all kinds of different fees on top of the membership fee (that keeps going up) they have also charged my card multiple times before even after I had just paid. Couldn’t even get that money back. Tried calling got no call back, basically theirs no way out for a year no matter how expensive it gets. Then you get a email from a law firm saying to pay $400 to get out of it or pay 400 and you continue to keep getting charged to use their gym. They don’t have a heart literally like what are you supposed to do when you lose your job unexpectedly. I mean I’d rather provide for my daughter than workout at a gym. Very disappointed. They fooled me and my husband so badly.

This gym is a great gym to workout at. The staff are really friendly and are like family. This gym has helped me lose weight and see progress in my body and health. There is no judgement in this gym no matter your body type. I have never worked out in a gym prior to signing up and was very nervous. I decided to pull the band-aid off and go sign up. I am so glad I did. I don't feel uncomfortable or nervous here at all. Also, they have comfortable hydro massage chairs, regular massage chairs, sauna and a tanning bed.

I was led to believe it was a month-to-month and find out I am locked in for a year. The reasons I was wanting to cancel was

1. It is too out of the way from where I live &
2. The facility is too crowded when I can go. I can sometimes get to work on the machines I want to use. I was told to come at a less busy time but when I asked I was told it was pretty much busy all the time.

I am supposed to be able to have an assessment by a trainer once a month. But the one time I did, it was a high pressure sales pitch trying to get me to drop another $3,000 on top of gym fees.

In order for me to cancel, I would have to move 30 miles away from the facility and still not be close to another workout anytime.
