New management in Weaverville stinks. They are scumbags. Am I allowed to say that?I’ve been a member for years and always enjoyed going. In 2024 they told me that I had to pay $35 towardsthe premium membership. Around that time I fractured my ankle and I broke a toe and could not go to the gym. What do they do? They cancelled my membership and turn it over to An attorney for collection. I not even going to the gym right now and. The sensible thing would’ve been to cancel my premium membership. Not cancel my entire membership and turn it over to an attorney for less than $100. There were two late charges (included in the $98 that they say I owe them). Premium monthly payment are $10. If you’re one day late, they give you a $20 late charge. I’m on Social Security. I can’t control when the Social Security check comes in. I can’t give a date because every month it’s a different date.

I’m gonna turn this situation over to the attorney general because I’m not paying for a membership I don’t have for 2025 And the late charges are ridiculous if you’re one day late.

The collection agency has now put it on my credit report. I would appreciate hearing from management. This is ridiculous..

Everything was going ok with this gym until I had to change the debit card for payment. I specifically told him that the one card was for that month's payment and I then gave him the card to use for the following months. I noticed 2 months later that they are not taking payment from my card so I check the other card and sure enough , they have been pulling from the other card , a card that I keep very little money on. Because it's just ever now and then I add to that card ( savings) the money isn't on it at the time of payment so I have incurred late fees. I immediately call them and I'm told they will fix it. I believe them. I noticed the next month they still aren't pulling from the correct card ,I check the balance on the other and they have not given me the late fees and I have incurred more late fees. I go to the gym and speak to the manager. He sees how this is their fault and says he will take care of it. He doesn't. I have contacted them 4 times and every time I have been told they will take care of it and they don't. I have had to cancel my debit card to keep them from withdrawing anymore. I have been receiving calls from them saying , you guessed it , I still owe them ?!?. Beware of this place. There are other gyms in this area to go to.

My main concern and the reason I’ve given 2 stars is due to the way this facility handles cancellations. I went on two separate occasions to cancel. The first time, I was told I could not cancel yet, since there were still two months left of my 1 year contract. I was told to come back one month later. I did. This time I was helped and I signed a cancellation form. I was told by the person at the desk that I was all set and that my membership was cancelled.

I was charged an additional two times after this. I then had to contact their 3rd party billing company to cancel with them as well. This company additionally charged me for another month. I actually called my bank and asked for a stop payment order, because I don’t trust that they will stop billing me, even after meeting all the clauses in the contract. Cancelling a gym membership should not be this complicated, I’ve never experienced something like this before.

I've been a member for a long time, but I stopped because of my husband's health. I wanted to come back, but I was told they were charging for showers after the hurricane. I didn't believe it, so I sent my husband in, and sure enough, it was $10.00 for a daily pass for a shower. There were military men and women who came in to shower. This made me angry that our "friendly neighborhood gym" would charge when so many people have lost their homes, power, and water. I am completely disappointed!
Also, the reason they rushed to open up so fast is that if they stay closed for a certain period of time, they have to issue refunds and turn off billing. That's why they opened up as fast as they did so they could keep billing people.

STAY AWAY! After reassurance that we wouldn't be charged another month after cancellation by a MANAGER, here we are MONTHS later and TWICE spaced out 40 days they've charged the monthly membership fee!!! I’ve heard from others that this is a common thing with their company; not shocked by that as it seems completely intentional; I guess some people don’t notice money stolen from their bank accounts months later and then again?!

On top of that I had a mega increase in spam calls after sharing my (now previous) phone number with their company! — STAY AWAY PEOPLE!! — Horrible Company with Ridiculous Excuses for their Predatory Actions, and then saying YOU need to call them even though you’ve done everything you were supposed to to cancel!! So how many times does it actually take to cancel then? How many months…years will it take?!

I will update this review every time they attempt new charges for this long-ago cancelled membership. I will also most definitely update (and dispute this falsehood) if it lands on my credit report (as reported by another client of theirs who had the exact same issue with their company as I'm currently having). I've been going to Workout Anytime since they opened and I can't say enough about the positivity regarding the Gym. First starts with JB who has basically transformed the gym like I haven't seen before. From the cleanliness to the staff it's Amazing. All the basics needed for a good workout. A few good amenities (tanning beds and hydro massage) not found at other local gyms. One of the only 24 hour gyms around.

The only negative so far is the guests working out that are allowed to live stream on social media. In my opinion, that shouldn't be allowed in a gym and could hinder some from trying to better themselves and get healthy.

This is the only gym in the area. The staff is so helpful ans friendly, however I'm coming from Denver where I pay $29.99/mo for gym membership with infrared saunas, pool and hot tub as well as cardio equipment, lifting equipment and dozens of group exercise classes and challenges. My gym back in Denver is also incredibly clean.

Workout Anytime is pretty grimy. There's scum and mold in the showers and the first time I went there the shower curtain was covered in red scum with mold growing on it. I mentioned it to someone and the curtain was replaced but there's still mildew, scum and mold in showers. My partner said that the men's locker room is even worse with trash everywhere.

The price is way too high for what they're offering, especially with how unsanitary everything is. That said, I'm still grateful there's a gym in the Marshall, Weaverville area at all and I'm more than grateful for how friendly the folx working there are.

Do NOT listen to what they tell you, READ the contract. They lie! I explained to the guy who signed me up that I may be moving soon and do not want a contract. I just want a month to month membership. He told me that is exactly what I was getting, a month-to-month membership that I could cancel anytime. So last week I canceled my membership two days in advance of the end of my month. And yet today I got billed for an additional month. When I complained, they sent me a copy of the contract and said that I had to give a full 30 days notice to cancel the membership. So in fact you can cancel anytime, but you will be charged for an additional month at least. I don’t know of many people who actually read those long contracts, but most of us trust that what we’re being told is accurate. I really do not like being misled. Overall, this gym is OK with decent equipment. Unfortunately it is really the only game in town. The men’s locker room is always a mess and smells of feces and urine but that’s because the toilet is 10 feet away from the changing and locker area. There were holes in the sink cabinetry and one sick was “out of order” for over a week. The water dispenser for reusable bottles was “out of order“ for the entire time I was there. For me 30 bucks is not that much to lose, but I cannot stand deceitful practices like this gym does to get members.

I’ve been going to WOA Weaverville every day for two years, and while initially I absolutely loved the facility, unfortunately it seems to be declining in quality and care lately. Some examples: equipment will break and remain unusable for weeks, the bathrooms do get pretty filthy (or are out of supplies), the fitness area doesn’t seem to be cleaned often and is consistently kept at a muggy temperature of 72-75 (I’ve never had to cut a workout short because of temperature before coming here), and the employees with whom I’ve interacted don’t seem to give the same care as they do to their personal clients or friends. I try to be respectful with my concerns, but overall I feel the quality of WOA Weaverville has declined, which is a bummer because it’s the only 24-hour gym near me, and I really enjoyed it.

I joined this gym about two months ago and I have been very happy. The owner of this franchise is very fortunate to have such a tight knit staff that seems like a family. They are constantly cleaning and caring for guests. I’m I retired executive director from a Fortune 500 company and I own Airbnbs in Asheville and I pastor a church. I can tell you that this staff is an asset. Being gay I was not sure how I would be treated but I have had no issues. It’s small but they have everything. I really only use the stationary bike while I manage our businesses and write sermons and that works for me for now but plan on doing weights in the new year.

I have been meaning to write a review of this place for a while now. I joined the gym in September because I have a friend who works out here and I wanted to look like him. I emailed the gym and I spoke with Matt who was very helpful in answering questions I had about the gym. Matt wasn't there the day I signed up, but he made sure to have someone from the team help me when I arrived. The sign up was easy and I was given a small tour and off I went. Since my time at the gym I have met so many great people here and it truly feels like a gym fam. The staff is friendly and approachable. The amenities are minimal, but that's perfect for me because I am able to focus on the work out. The price is great and they have all the equipment you want from a gym. Totally recommend joining.

bad business practices / deceptive policies.

I signed up with a trainer. When the trainer left to find a better paying job, they kept charging me $800+ per month. I wrote an email asking for it to stop but got no answer. They said the contract was for them to provide a trainer, not with my trainer... though I made it clear I wasn't going to resume, especially when I didn't schedule with a new trainer. No one reasonably thinks this is what's happening. It was deceptive.

They took my checking account number and continued to charge it even after I repeatedly asked them to switch to a different account.

They promised to repay my NSF fees, since they were charging the wrong account, but never did.

Overall my satisfaction with the gym was just OK -- but my experience as a customer was horrible.

Very deceitful be careful to read fine lines etc. I did the year long contract and I paid for the full year of the contract. Then I stopped going and they still kept charging me month to month which was not clear to me bc i did the year long contract. They reported I didn’t pay monthly that month and it went against my credit and i owed $70 even tho I hadn’t gone to that gym in over a year. I was also charged every month. The manager was helpful to reduce the cost. I will say seeing a letter in the mail from a law firm out of nowhere from a GYM I hadn’t gone to in a year saying i owed $130 and my credit was screwed was shocking to me (although the manager helped knock it down to $70) especially after Paying for the first full year of the contract. I never got a call or any mail saying I owed anything until the law firm contacted me.

This gym is always very clean (with sanitation bottles at every station) and has great equipment. I also love that they have tanning beds and hydro massage beds!

Anyone who writes about cleanliness of this place is correct. I've been going here for 3 years. Not a clean facility. Equipment has dust on top of and around all equipment....not using the tools of the vacuum? Restrooms are not wiped down regularly, showers are also not clean. Today there was mud from someone's shoes yesterday. If bathrooms arent clean.....think the machines are?

Massage chairs are great, but again no one cleans them as I have witnessed dirt spots for days and not used the equipment because it is not clean. Sadly same goes for tanning bed. Grease stains, dirt and hair. Take your flip flops in because you don't want to be in barefeet.

Hourly cleaning policy maybe? This is a gym.....body fluids, breathing, COVID.....?

Their gym policies.....they do not enforce customers cleaning the equipment after usage, so yes if you don't clean the machine before you use it....who knows what is on it...ringworm? COVID? No one wears masks, staff does not wear masks, there is no social spacing or distancing, people wear jeans when it says not to.

Manager Matt is poor at customer service. Issues brought to his attention and his solution was HE would cancel my membership. How about you look out for the safety of everyone? There is a policy to wipe the equipment? Yes. There is a policy that says no jeans? Yes. How about you enforce the policy? Sorry you have to confront people, but yes that is your job to implement the policies and rules for everyone! Not cancel someones membership because they ask you too enforce the policies. New management should be looked at.

Great nice people that work there, besides management Matt and his unprofessionalism. Nice that it is 24 hours. Same services are down the road...24 hour gym, with friendly people, no contracts, no poor customer service.....oh and it's clean with people that want to improve you and your health.

Better gyms out there. Don't waste your time, money and health going here.

This is an excellent gym to join! When I walked in I was so embarrassed with my weight and health after having my twin boy's. The pregnancy did a number on me and my body. I walked around lost on what to do and how to workout safely after having my back surgery. I signed up with a personal trainer who pushed me to become healthy in a safe way. I was able to be honest about my fears and struggles but they were courteous, supportive and extremely helpful. The staff are kind and fun to be around. Always willing to help with whatever questions I have. If you're looking for a honest gym and incredible personal trainers THIS IS YOUR GYM!!! I wouldn't be where I am now without them. If you're embarrassed with your health issues or weight don't be.. Walk in and change your life! You'll be thankful that you did.
Now only thing is needed is an eculaptus steam room and I'd give a billion starts!!! Seriously though please think about it 😉

The fitness area overall is well maintained and easy to use.
However, The locker room and the showers are sub-standard in cleanliness and upkeep. In my first month, showering in the gym 4 days per week, not once did the showers appear to be cleaned. The plastic shower curtains are moldy, black, and smell from mildew. Way overdue to be changed. It would be better to not use plastic, and just keep the fabric ones, changing them out to launder them. The locker room constantly smells like cigarette butts, as do the showers. There are abandoned garments left behind that are never removed. The shower heads have sediment buildup. The drains have hair that is never removed. The walls are slimy...This area really needs attention, and for that I take away 3 stars from my rating. Otherwise this would be a 5 star rating.

Follow up review 12/30/21 - after receiving some calls from management asking if there was an improvement, which there was since they did one cleaning after above review, i was reassured the showers would be cleaned twice a day as scheduled. The locker room and showers haven't been cleaned since. The shower curtains were changed once only after they were thick with mildew and mold. Cleanliness is below standard and needs attention and regular monitoring.

I love this gym! I’ve been coming here consistently for 3 months and I have had a great experience. The staff really make this place but it’s also always very clean and organized. I tried another gym while out of town a couple weeks back and missed my gym. Love this place highly recommend.

I called and canceled my membership during the pandemic months ago and now I have a charge on my debit card for over $400. I went in 2 days ago to discuss a refund and was told I could only cancel if I was moving out of state. I have read some reviews and apparently this is not the first time they have done this. Its a shame when a company takes advantage of people during times like these. I would highly recommend seeking fitness elsewhere as the level of professionalism is at an all time high with this location.

So far, so good. It was SUPER crowded tonight at 545pm (Monday, June 7, 2021). Everyone seems respectful, though - of time spent on specific machines, benches/etc.

I will say, I have never been inside a gym THAT hot, though. I mean - it is HOT inside. Muggy, humid hot. Uncomfortably hot.

Hope that’s not a long term thing because my fiancé and I just both paid $240/each up front for a year membership.

Customer service guy that signed us up Saturday was ok. Not amazing, not terrible - just straight, to the point.

This is a great gym! Everyone is so friendly and the staff is willing to help out in anyway they can. The gym is very clean and has a nice variety of equipment. I hired a personal trainer to help me recover from rotator cuff surgery. He has really motivated me and helped me improve my range of motion, all while having fun! I would highly recommend this gym and it’s personal trainers!

I am loving this gym! I have traveled the country, and usually select a large corporate gym with access anywhere, anytime. WA-Weaverville provides my required access, but has a very friendly, family atmosphere. The trainers, coaches, and staff are friendly, and recognize folks by name. They are available to show you how to use the equipment, offer encouragement, and tell you they missed you when you happen to skip for an entire week. The locker rooms and exercise equipment are clean, with ample cleaning stations throughout the building. Staff can be seen cleaning routinely. Reasonable Covid-19 precautions are enforced. There are no loud, obnoxious people working out and making others feel self-conscious. The group workout classes are run efficiently with lots of support and excitement. In short, I definitely recommend this gym over any others in the area!
