I have to start by saying that we absolutely love the Lifestyles facilities - The buildings and amenities are generally excellent (although the women's steam room has never worked since we've been going there) and the staff who work the front desks and floors are always super nice. Everything is clean and the lay-out is wonderful. The selection of equipment is very nice and the gym is always quiet, even on the rare occasion that it's busy. Even during peak hours, we've never had to wait long to use anything or felt crowded. Also, the members are generally very respectful and courteous, so we feel safe and comfortable using the gym.
The reason I can't give the gym 5 stars is because of how difficult it is to work with the administrative personnel; several others members I've talked to (and read the other reviews for) have had the same issues. You have to go in person to get a membership and have to hope that the right person is there when you go or make an appointment, since you can't join online or by phone - Although this is inconvenient, it wouldn't be a big deal on its own. However, there are other issues. When we first joined, the membership representative at the time gave us an offer that the next membership representative who came in then revoked, and we weren't given a reason why. We explained what the other person told us and forwarded an e-mail confirming it, but the new person still said we couldn't continue on that plan. We didn't think this was very professional, but since the previous person's offer was overly generous, we said we understood. However, the new person also charged us an enrollment fee, even though we were considered members of the gym under the old offer and she terminated our membership. This seemed very unfair, especially given how incredibly expensive the enrollment fee is. We were very irritated, but we let it go. Shortly after we re-enrolled, we were being stopped by the front desk staff when we tried to go into the gym, because they said there was a huge fee on our account. We contacted the membership representative (who personally ran our card during our enrollment appointment) and didn't receive a response, but the front desk no longer stopped us after that, so we figured it was settled. Then we saw on our bank account that the enrollment fee had been charged twice, so we paid several hundred dollars that we didn't actually owe. We're still trying to get this handled.
Apart from membership issues, I've e-mailed several people on the flyers for programs and classes and rarely receive a response. The personal training manager is the only one who I've ever been able to get in contact with (he was great.) I tried three different people to ask for adult swim programs, and none of them ever responded. I asked at the front desk and no one had any ideas of how to get hold of them either. There are also confusing situations, like they'll say a personal training consultation is free, but then for some reason when I signed-up for personal training, I didn't qualify for that and my consultation/evaluation was charged as my first session.
We would be absolutely crazy about these gyms if we could get everything we pay for. However, being given the run around and not getting responses from various people has become increasingly frustrating. We still plan on staying here because the facilities are unbeatable, but it would be really nice if they could get their administrative affairs in order.

The gym is ok, but they have an outdated system that has caused nothing but headaches for my family and I. Our kids were locked out of a swim class last spring due to an inefficient system involving untrained desk staff and physical paperwork. But the reason for this review is that I was charged last week for a family membership that I canceled on 8/26 (37 days ago). I had to fill out a form in-person and I wrote down the day/time I went in because I knew something would get messed up like it did for the swim class. Iβm very disappointed in the Lifestyle Green location.

I've been a member for almost 5 years and paid for a family membership and never really had any issues except for the hot tub and steam room being down from time to time. Recently, my teenage son asked to start coming to the gym with me and I was thrilled that he wants to start learning about weight training and nutrition and spend time with his dad. We got dressed and drove to Lifestyles tonight and got turned away at the front desk. C
Apparently you can't go to the gym with your own child even if they are lifting with you one on one. I made it clear that I was not turning him loose in the gym, that he would be exercising with me the whole time, but outside of certain hours, they don't let kids under 16 in.
It is NOT the family friendly gym I thought it was and I am going to start looking for other options because this is unacceptable.

Great Gym. They just installed new carpet throughout.. They are always making sure the machines are up to par and able to be used. Good free weight selection as well as cable weight machine selection. Clean locker rooms, showers, bathrooms, pool and hot tub areas. Staff VERY helpful and always see them stocking things and cleaning to keep members happy. They have awesome personal trainers that will help you to improve your "lifestyle". Can't say enough good about this facility.

I love the selection of machines to use, never feels too crowded either. The building is also pretty warm during the summer months, you feel the temperature difference walking in. Trying to get a membership other than going in the building is impossible, when my wife and I first signed up we were leaving voicemails for weeks with no return. Lockers are always clean, I do not think it is worth $97 a month for a couple membership.

Great fitness center with just about everything one would need to reach their fitness goals. To be honest with you, it is probably the most expensive gym membership you can find in the area, but it keeps the trash and kids to a minimum, and you really do get your money's worth as well. There are all kinds of classes and benefits to take advantage of. Staff is friendly and professional.

Great gym! I mainly only use the weight area, sauna, and cardio equipment. The nice thing is that you can go to all three! Which helps with us moving!

I'd love to join this gym, but unfortunately, the past 7 weeks, the spa has been closed. I am ready to switch my membership, but I'm sort of waiting to see if they get the spa back. I've never seen this before. While I've dealt with broken got tubs at my other gyms, they don't take weeks on end for maintenance. One can only assume this is an issue because it's a Cleveland Clinic facility and not a gym business. So I guess they had to go through rounds of budget approval and emailing back and forth to get anything ordered, etc. The staff is very kind, the facility is gorgeous, and I'm eager to start a fitness RX through their fitness professionals, but I'm just hesitant to sign up until I see that spa running. We had some free passes from a friend.

We were searching for a gym near us. This facility impressed me as a gym for professionals. They have an array of fitness classes and have staff to do fitness analysis to prescribe a workout plan.

Hands down the best Gym Iβve been to. The staff takes great care of you, and all the fitness trainers are well educated and help you build a tailored fitness plan to your body and goals. The classes included with the membership are phenomenal to say the least. Highly recommend!

This is best gym ever to join. The only issue I have is when equipment brakes it takes months to repair. But everything clean and such professional people. I pick them over YMCA because of the comfort of being in hospital setting.

Great facilities! Everything clean and maintained. Always have access to qualified professionals for advice and answering fitness questions. Cardio, machines, free weights, indoor track, multiple pools, whirlpool, steam, saunaβ¦rock wall, classes, etc. Excellent locker rooms! Limited hours for children, so plenty of time to stay focused. Worth the money!

An excellent exercise facility that features clean, modern, and functional equipment. There are tons of offerings here, such as the gymnasium, the multiple swimming pools, the treadmills, the weight machines, the rock wall, the indoor track, and more. The locker rooms offer plenty of showers as well as a steam room and a sauna, all of which are great. Membership can be pricey unless you're a Cleveland Clinic employee, but with the presence of competent and caring staff members and the quality of the facility as a whole, I think this is a better offering than the YMCA.

Great facility! Locker rooms are clean and good. Good equipment friendly staff. Needs improvement on a few things. To many people week after week using the equipment and being on cell phones. Waited for one person to get off machine for 30 mins. He was on cell phone more then using machine. The staff was doing training sessions in the middle of the walk track. Everything you walked around people were lifting weights or other things on the walk track. They would back up into the person trying to walk. Only notice this on Saturday morning though. People working out are not cleaning machined after use. That's not staff fault but something should be done.

Careful of bait and switch billing practices, executives tell you one thing and do another..even when you catch them up with their own contract. No fitness group run under a parent hospital group should be run like a third rate. " We just want your money gym"
Stay clear
